As an indie developer, you can go very far with the free tier. Cons I was on the scholarship plan and did get to try out the more advanced features. I found them a bit hard to understand, but I assume that the main limitation was my knowledge and not the tool itself. Switched from [Firebase](https://www.capterra.com/p/160941/Firebase/) Amplitude has been great. I was using firebase previously and there is a night and day difference when using amplitude. Pros \- Very easy to implement, to create reports, dashboards and to dissect your data using multiple dimensions - Offers a very generous free tier - I liked the Behavioural Cohorts as it offer key insights that help you understand exactly which are your best users and what makes them stick around - Great tools for understanding and interpreting your data on the paid plans Cons It's quite expensive - so if you really want to use it you need to be ready to spend some money with it. It provides excellent reports to view funnel data, manage conversion drivers and analyze user behavior. I was also able to create a common product and marketing dashboard. Moreover, I used their CDP product to create connections between sources like HTTP API, and analyze its data using destinations like Intercome, Amazon S3, and much more. It is user friendly and sounds good. Pros The addition of more amplifier and artists, and hire you can purchase add ons... toss way it’s not too much to just get started, but you can always buy more. August 1, 2018 4.0 They ability to freely monitor my application in realtime Pros I like their free plan its a godsend for indie developers like myself who have a limited budget. Their user activity activity information and presentation is top notch. For example on that page I click on a individual user and see how long they've used my app, see what they did during each session and I can even select a option to see what events they're triggering in realtime. Cons Over the years its become increasingly more complicated to use their interface and find the information I'm looking for. When I started using Amplitude a couple of years ago it was simpler to organize the data how I wanted but now a days I frequently find myself lost after coming back to check app every couple of weeks. We very quickly started seeing value from the metrics tracked. Pros When paired with Segment, Amplitude is great at helping us track user engagement and retention metrics... once the dashboards are set up. Cons Setting up the dashboards can be quite daunting, as there is a large amount of functionality on offer. Once that's done, though, it is smooth sailing from there. Switched from [Google Analytics 360](https://www.capterra.com/p/177042/Google-Analytics/) Better and more functionality. It was also a better pair with Segment. This means the tool is completely free for us to use. The functionalities are very worthwhile compared to paid tools like Mixpanel and Heap. Cons You do have to spend some time setting this up and instrumenting all the events. It can also be a little bit difficult for new users to pick it up, but I haven't had a problem figuring it out and getting value out of it. Review Source Matt K. Pros Amplitude has very clean and easy to use user interface, which makes data analytics looks so easy. It offers customizable visualizations that are very useful as reporting tools. Now we don't have to switch platforms to check our IOS or Android app reviews separately, it is one platform to rule them all.
