Pros We used Animoto to create basic videos for marketing campaigns. It's easy to use and include a number of live stock videos to use which makes for a great visual presentation. Their software makes if super easy to create great looking videos. Because it is cloud based, I found it super easy to start on my laptop and pick up on my iPad. Cons While Animoto provides plenty of unique themes, all the finished product ends up looking kind of the same. For projects needing more customization, I would probably explore other options but would be prepared to spend a lot more time and give up the convenience factor that this app delivers. Pros This app is great for making quick video collages for posts. I love how easy it is to put different pictures together and pair with music. Cons Once the video was made, I had a hard time editing and moving things around. I had to start over from scratch. I couldn’t continue to use it when the cost was so much more than the many others that came on the market and became readily available for a lot less. Pros The creators of Animoto clearly knew what photographers were looking for in a slideshow software. The mobile app and ease of use on the go was convenient and applicable to most photographers making general sales. Cons It seems this software was just shy of one major important feature in every aspect. It never seemed to be available when needed either. The cost was a little high as well. Highly recommend! Pros I have found so many uses for Animoto. It's great for employee recognition, student graduation, entertaining videos to use in employee trainings and also for use in classroom instruction. Cons I can't really think of any negatives. There is always a learning curve with a new software/program, but Animoto is intuitive and has great support and self-serve trainings. May 23, 2018 4.0 Teachers can apply for a teacher account which gives the teacher and students the ability to create full-length videos. Pros It is free and easy to use. Educators can request a free account which has more bells and whistles. It is a great tool for presentations and an introduction to video editing. Finally, it is a great tool for teaching the basics of digital storytelling. Cons The drawback of this tool is that it has the distracting watermark and you are limited to images if you want the free version. If you upgrade it is not much better so not really worth the money. Finally, videos can only be 30 seconds in length. I could sit and make a video about something very quickly, but the quality of that video may not be too good. Cons There are not a lot of options for what you can use to create a video you are trying to make. Essentially this means there are restrictions from reaching an end point for something you wanted. VP Consumer Goods Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Unethical Company" December 24, 2019 1.0 Pros There's nothing in the software that you can't do with Facebook or Avid, Final Cut, Premiere or a free iphone App. Cons I recommend not doing business with this company. We had a subscription for a year. On the following year they auto-billed $588 and never sent any warning about this or even a receipt. My credit card showed the payment was charged and I contacted the company the "same day" to cancel the annual subscription and refund us. There customer service policy is No EXCEPTIONS No REFUNDS. What kind of crappy business is this? I would expect this kind of service at a car dealer. That's why people hate car dealers. Review Source Tomasz C. Also time saver! Finally we don't have to spend hours to create videos for our social media. Cons Generally it is ok, but after some time you will find that there are some limitations. And there are two path - one, stick with it and work around, or migrate to more advanced (but also more time consuming) solution. In fact, they are looking to find out why it was all cancelled and wrote to tell me when they will receive a response. I still feel as though they need a phone, but at least they did get back to me, and I can continue on with the software which I use often. As said before, I love the product. But when something goes wrong there is little to non-existent support, so I am still waiting to get a response back after several weeks of submitting requests. Unfortunately this has tainted my view of the company. I was even going to get a subscription for my school. Pros The software is great. I use it a lot for school book trailers and family memories. I had this product for 10 years and never had any problems until they lost my account. I've personally created several dozen Animoto videos that help tell the story of our specific events. Whether we're celebrating a community event, highlighting service activities or honoring our volunteers - Animoto helps me easily insert photo or video memories and uniquely capture highlight videos. We love it! Pros I love the ease of use with Animoto - just select a style, settle on a song and add pics/videos - it's simple! I can create full-length videos for our organization in minutes. Cons I wish that there was a way to indicate the location of each photo/video on the final video screen. Sometimes I'd rather align a photo left or right based upon the content of the photo. Pros Slideshows are easy to make and there is a a decent music library to choose from. Cons When the software glitches, it takes their engineers FOREVER to fix it, which means you're paying for a tool you can't use. Their trim feature hasn't worked for over a month, and Customer Service is assuring me they are working on it, but that's it. No updates. No resolution dates. Nothing. If you don't want to have to worry about transitions, etc., then Animoto is the place to go. I can't thank them enough for the quality videos that have come from their website. I've used it for videos for my school, as well as for personal use. Pros Animoto is literally one of my favorite programs to make quick and easy videos for our school. The great thing is that it is so easy to get a quality video without all of the hardwork. You choose one of their templates, upload your pictures, choose some music, and that's it. So easy! Cons The thing I like the most is also the thing I like least. Sometimes I want to add my own touches and I can't. So Impressed with the ease of Video/ Slideshow Creation! Pros I recently discovered Animoto for use for a Memorial, and was amazed at the High Quality Video that I was able to produce in a short amount of time. You can add slides, photos, videos, music, choose from their already licensed music, templates, change fonts, colors, add filters. The possibilities are endless, and I am so happy I found Animoto. I have now made birthday videos, work promo videos, and facebook ads. Cons The Templates can be very similar and it would be nice if there were more. Pros Animoto has been a life-saver for us. We love to create simple videos for our clients to review our product, and Animoto does just what we need, and in the time we need it done. This software will create the video for you, just load in what you need and Animoto does the rest. Cons You will not be able to control the editing of the videos, as Animoto does that for you.
