The hosted version is cheap and they do have a self-hosted version that doesn't have a recurring fee, but I was trying to avoid paying a monthly fee and I didn't have a spare machine available for the self-hosted version. ClickUp gave me the functionality I was looking for without having to pay a monthly fee, so it was a better choice for me. Switched from [Trello](https://www.capterra.com/p/211559/Trello/) I didn't like that there wasn't a natural way to filter data down in Trello. I wanted to be able to maintain a backlog separately from tasks I was actively working on to avoid cluttering up the view. However, in Trello, the only options were to use different lists, which can't be hidden, or to use separate boards completely, which was too disjointed for my liking. It is more intuitive, has all the needed features as the others (and even more), and has a steep learning curve. It's feature set is however heavily directed to the project management professional as it does a great job in its task administration processes. It can however greatly benefit from the added focus on additional business, client collaborative and marketing options. Pros The Project & Task Management setup is simple and intuitive with an exaustive set of collaborative and reoporting features that leaves no need unmet. The Feature Development & Refinement pace is unmatched, as it feels like improvement are added weekly without disruption of the overall functionality, which says a lot for the robustness of ClickUp and its intention to ris eto the top of the list. Cons The downside to being so feature rich is that the system can become a bit over-whelming if you are not primarily looking for project administration & task management tools. The most loved feature I must say the views, Caleandar (sync'd with Google), Board (Kanban Style with custom columns OMG I LOVE THIS ONE) and List!.... The way I can create a task using / commands allows me to create a task very very fast without mouse, this is an unique feature. I have to mention the Mobile App, it's really awesome, another apps lack in features vs their webapp but ClickUp have unlimitless features in the mobile app too. Lest talk about design, the position of items makes readability much more easier than another apps even with tons of info for every screen of the app. Finally I have to mention dark theme, love it! Cons This app is really amazing, as a Web Developer I need to mantain every task very well organized. I tried a bunch of another apps before ClickUp and after weeks of testing I fall in love. But yes, I have to mention 2 things that they could do better, Light Theme es very very light, the app looks very cheap in light theme even with high contrast, I dont like it... Second thing is the load time, it's pretty slow to me, yes, I know the app have too many things to load and no problem with that but I wish the minimize to tray feature doesn't close the task because if I maximize the app open it again and that takes the same amount of time than open a task not in my tray. Cons there are some front end issues regarding screen sizes. I use 2 montiros with a vertical one for vieiwing long codes, and sometimes I noticed the text in some tasks are not very responsive. I love all of the features and how much they keep working on the software to improve it and keep it in tip-top shape. The creators are so invested in this and listen to community feedback like -whoa-. I use mine mostly to keep track of client work - I can create lists of projects that each client has and create a document inside ClickUp to allow me to write down all my notes, questions, missing items, etc for that client. It keeps everything in one central place so I don't lose my notes or my mind! Cons While you are able to filter your tasks in various ways, it isn't possible to filter them in the way that best suits my needs. I hope that they will consider adding additional sorting features. I haven't seen anyone else want it as I want it, so it may not be a con for you! I was a bit hesitant to keep using Asana after they started to paywall some of their free features. • It has a chat feature that is a lot more bare bones than Slack, but we prefer it this way because we don't want our computers/phones blowing up with notifications • Overall, it's super nice to have so many features under one billing statement instead of getting nickel-and-dimed by so many different platforms. Pros The key selling point for me with ClickUp was that I could use this software instead of Toggl, Asana, Slack, Buffer, and Close.io — all of these apps were replaced by ClickUp. I will say, though, that ClickUp was only able to replace Buffer because we combined it with Zapier. What we essentially did was combined ClickUp and Zapier to be our social media scheduler. So far, this combined integration has been so much more pleasant to use than Buffer. Cons We have gone back to using Toggl because ClickUp's reporting features for our time tracking are difficult and confusing to use. Hopefully, this will get better over time, so we're going to stick around in the hopes that it'll get better. It also has a few loopholes where others do for those who work on multiple things from projects well collaboratively. Cons Its software has powerful features and features and is highly customizable for any kind of workflow; But now it is impossible to use it for consecutive days at a time. First productivity platform I've ever payed for :) It was a slow start because I was wary from previous not-so-great experiences, but as soon as I customized it to the GTD methodology I was implementing, it was smooth sailing. Pros The fact that you can adapt it to any methodology you might follow for personal productivity, without it being too generic. It's a difficult balance to strike, but you do it well. Cons Not much... the only thing I'm missing right now is being able to have a real-time dashboard. From using Habitica I got used to the side-by-side list view and that is met by the customizable dashboards. However, my only choice is between "now and stop" or "5 mins or more". Pros I really liked the board view of click up. Tasks can be broken into multiple small tasks and frankly it loads very fast. The UI is one of the best I've came across. They provide the basic tags which are enough to get started with. Cons I am really not a big fan of stopwatch system in click up. It is good for tasks that can be completed in 1 hour but most of my tasks are time consuming. I know when I was working for one client and he use to ask me to maintain this timer and I really use to hate it. August 7, 2021 5.0 Pros I can finally track and manage all the aspects of my projects in one place: CLICKUP. From task scheduling to sharing documents and files, everything can be done under one roof without the need to jump from one place to another, wasting your time and energy. The possibility to create several WORKPLACE(s), name them and control each one as an individual standalone part is a huge benefit, especially when, like me, you have to manage multiple aspects and several projects at the same time. Everything is packaged in one neatly displayed dashboard along with everything related to it. The ability to work offline comes to put the icing on the cake for me.
