Pros: Greenhouse is great. It's very customizable to your recruiting operation while providing clear guidance on how to best organize your operation. This improves your candidate/interviewer experience while maximizing your data/analytics and workflows. Their customer service team is top notch. They're friendly and helpful and always solution oriented. There's so much I personally like that I'll just have to list a few (in no particular order):

- Offer Workflows (with approvals)
- Job Setup
- Customizable Options (Offer details, Job details, Tags, Candidate details)
- Greenhouse Analytics (Okay I lied, this is my favorite)
- Employee Dashboard
- Referral Process (Posting to social media, tracking, organizing referrals as a referrer)

Cons: There isn't a lot not to like. Greenhouse is growing fast and their software is evident of that at times. There are some legacy situations that they've chosen not to prioritize (like bulk updating approvals on jobs) with their engineering time, but though the solution today is time consuming, they're obviously making progress to minimize the pains. When you use Greenhouse, you're using a tool that does more than track candidates, it helps you interview better and it helps your team become more confident in their hiring decisions. So, of course that opens the door for growing pains as they scale and learn what their customers need.

On a more technical side. The way they've designed their API doesn't always make the most sense. They provide some resources to understand it better but until you're neck deep into when candidate_ID and application_ID are used and what historical information is connected to each, it's a bit like learning a new language.

Pretty Close To A Silver Bullet!

Comments: We use Greenhouse as the platform for all recruiting functions globally. Prior to implementing Greenhouse, we had a lot of manual processes in place and the recruiting function as a whole was decentralized. There was no central repository for all recruiting-related information. With Greenhouse, we were able to align the team globally, centralize all functions, automate processes, and create a better hiring experience for managers.

Pros: Reporting - In my role, I need to be able to diagnose where the breakdowns are in recruiting, and the system¿s many canned reports help me do that. While Greenhouse doesn¿t have the ability to let you build custom reports, there are enough reports available that I don¿t have to do that. It¿s also been very useful for me to get weekly recruitment reports from the system so I can see activity from a high level. All this lets me keep my finger on the pulse of hiring, and report effectively to the business where we are with progress to plan, while at the same time advising on trends I¿m seeing and actions we may want to take. Interview Kits/Scorecards - Another great feature of the system. Getting everyone on the same sheet of music has been invaluable. Once all scorecards are input then the manager can see all of the feedback and make a decision. As I¿ve mentioned, centralization is important to us and having all the feedback in one place makes it easy on recruiter and manager alike. And the interview kits are a great way to set everyone up for success because they can be customized so that the whole interview panel takes the same approach, or each interviewer can be tasked with a specific question set. And it¿s all so intuitive and easy to use. Several of our senior executives have set the standard for user engagement with Greenhouse! User experience - This was one very key area for us. We believe that recruiters are partners to managers, and for them to want to engage on that level, we needed a system that was user-friendly. And Greenhouse is definitely user-friendly. We have a high level of engagement here which has helped to further our goal of creating a culture of recruitment here.

Cons: Reporting Customization - Although there are many canned reports that cover a variety of areas, I still have to export multiple reports in order to build a report which tells the story I¿m trying to tell. User Access Customization - I understand this is something on their product roadmap. It would be great for them to get more granular in terms of access-level functionality.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you¿re looking for a recruiting system that is user-friendly, intuitive and customizable, you should definitely look at Greenhouse. The greenhouse allows us to be fluid with our recruiting process, which is important because we have to be able to pivot quickly to support the needs of the business. Being able to tailor processes to a specific role, customizing interview kits and operate with a high degree of transparency (which Greenhouse allows you to do - everyone can run reports!), then this system should be given serious consideration.

Phenomenal features, easy to use - but extremely high priced, not great support/export

Pros: Intuitive features and easy to process between steps
Helps to ensure consistency between interviews, plans, and third party integrations for staff intake and hiring.
Easy to post jobs and link multiple job posts to the same position internally (newer posts get more applications, but don't need a new job inside the portal)
Allows for constant hiring, and deep analytics on use of HR teams time and performance
- Really not a fit for small or midsize firms, you can tell its great for the enterprise

Cons: - Support is great initially, then is not as helpful after execution (contract lock in)
- Pricing is annual, and very high
- Hard to justify the ROI for convenience on HR team
- Pricing is completely based on size of the company (meaning how much you can afford) vs. the use of the platform or feature set
- Prohibitive annual, upfront, and renewal terms
- Company tried to renew automatically within contract notification periods, without confirmation/touching base previously, and expected higher contract terms without discussion or proposal
- Exporting data is non-functional. Only left with Resumes and not full details, notes, or other data your team may have created (Keep that in mind when spending time analyzing candidates and for legal/compliance)
- Really consider how your team will use this, and if it is either a time saver or money maker for recruiting.

Chances are, it's not - but it is convenient in one place. But once you're in it - very hard to leave and difficult to offboard.

Overall: Helpful to map out a recruitment journey in one place. But can be done with more control of your data in many other HR tools.

Comments: I did a fair amount of investigating ATS systems, and Greenhouse ultimately won my business and has kept it for a several reasons. 1. Customer Service. Their sales team understood the difference between availability, persistence and harassment. Their implementation specialists are patient, articulate, empathetic, easily accessible and even open to product improvement suggestions. Support tickets are handled quickly and when the matter is a more complex tool-wide programming solve, they still communicate the outcome to you---even months later!! 2. UI and UX. It's sexy, intuitive, and easy to use. Trying to get timely candidate feedback from super busy creative people, many of whom are naturally disorganized, has meant the simplicity of Greenhouse has been a godsend. They even like using it because its pretty. Anything to made the horse led to water drink, ya know? 3.Customization. I love that I can change make both minor tweaks and major adjustments to scorecards, job posts, work flow and hiring teams with zero headache. We can also put our unique brand voice on everything our internal team and candidates see, so nothing about it feels robotic. 4. Candidate Experience. It's fast, simple, and clear on the receiving end, which is the most important part. Feedback from our candidates, even from rejected candidates, has been glowing since we started using Greenhouse---a vast improvement over our previous MO. 5. Ease of Communications. Communicating to and about candidates is simple and fluid, AND can all activity around a candidate is logged, so you check and double check last communications---key when you have a large pool and fast moving process. It's also web based, so use it from your phone, home computer or anywhere that's not your desk. The only drawback is that the flexibility in the rest of the tool is not represented in the reporting. The reports can be a little difficult to decipher and there are some sets of data not offered that would be quite useful, though not critical. On the whole, the reporting features are more than adequate, but relative to the awesomeness of the tool and service otherwise, it would step up a bit.

Pros: Customer Service, UI/UX, Customization, Candidate Experience, Ease of Communications.

Cons: Analytics, Price (if you're a small business)

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are a small to mid-sized business that will be scaling rapidly, I'd recommend this investment---especially if you need to solidify your employer brand internally and externally. For small business, it might be overkill if funds are tight, but if you can swing it, you'll find it nothing but a pleasure to use.

Pros: No glaring holes in the tools a small-to-medium sized organization needs to track, manage, evaluate, and hire candidates.

Lots of push-button integration partners to drive downstream workflows, such as Background Screening, and HRIS export.

Cons: Heavy configureability means heavy variation between customer setups. This is true in nearly every software solution, not just Greenhouse.

It would be great to see Greenhouse take more of a lead in providing good examples of objective candidate evaluations. Scorecards that coach interviewers on how to objectively evaluate certain attributes, etc...there's plenty of research out there on preventing bias in interviews, and how evaluate candidates more objectively. We'd welcome Greenhouse to take away some of the 'configurability' in favor of stronger leadership on evaluating technical and non-technical qualities objectively and without bias during interview.

BambooHR, an HR Information System, does a great job of leading their customers by designing functionality that support best practices in performance review, performance management, and goal setting. They simply don't allow their customers to configure their way out of doing good reviews. They explain the research behind employee engagement, good reviews, and stick to their guns. This is good industry leadership, Greenhouse could learn from that.

"Choose your own path" isn't always the best.

Pros: - Ease of use & great support documentation you can point individual users to so the recruiting team is not inundated with one-off questions from users. - Access to customer support through the chat feature - Ability to make feature requests - The product is constantly evolving and growing with our needs as a fast growing organization - Many levels of specificity when setting up alerts you want to receive - our previous ATS alert emails were either all or nothing but with Greenhouse you can select exactly what you want such as alerts when candidates move to different stages, or alerts for specific interview rounds which is very helpful.

Cons: - Restrictions on customizations: For instance, I'd like to create an additional "sourcing strategy" but am not able to so many candidate sources end up under the "other" bucket which leads to poor reporting on source of hire and ROI tracking for some recruiting initiatives. - Workflows can get real messy real fast if you have a larger recruiting team - Reporting is just alright - not as robust as I'd expect which means managers end up doing quite a bit of manual work to build a story to tell to execs. Be ready to export reports to excel and expect to spend time manipulating data.

Recommendations to other buyers: - Take the time to set up a well thought out interview plan (interview stages) that will be consistent across all departments hiring. Otherwise you will have very messy reports very quickly. - Take the time to work with hiring managers to create scorecards. - When first implementing Greenhouse, get the entire recruiting team involved and encourage the team to explore all facets. Before launching company wide, we all created test candidate profiles that we played with to try to find loopholes. It was also helpful to create test "hiring manager" or "interviewer" user accounts to have a better understanding of what our business partners would be able to see/do with the system.

Pros: Greenhouse... more like FUNhouse! Greenhouse is the most intuitive ATS out there. It's easy to use for interviewers as well as recruiters and hiring managers. It's definitely the cleanest product out there and the innovators behind it obviously care about staying at the top, as is clear from their constant updates. Greenhouse is also the most data centric ATS I've worked with. It allows you to really track your hiring data to be able to make smarter recruiting decision down the road. All in all, very few complaints about the product or the people behind it. Save yourself the research - work with Greenhouse!

Cons: Greenhouse is by far in a way the best ATS I've worked with. Having said that, sure, are there things that could be better? I'm sure (though none come to mind right now). It would be great if you could post to social media about all jobs at your company as opposed to one specific job (though I think they're working on this). It would also be great if my "resources" on my google calendar synced up. Right now I can scheduled interviews to my specific calendars via google calendar, but I can't schedule them to a specific room, or "resource." These are pretty small things though and I'm confident whatever isn't perfect will be soon enough!

Recommendations to other buyers: It's important to decide what factors are important to you. Do you need the most data focused ATS? Do you need it to be incredibly easy for interviewers (not just recruiters) to use? Do most hires come from referrals and so you need that to be a convenient process for employees? Lucky for you, Greenhouse is top notch on all of these factors and more. Truthfully, you need to make sure that whatever ATS you're going to go with is working constantly to stay relevant and is making upgrades and updates often to keep up with the demand of the hiring space.

Pros: - The interview kits and scorecards are great. Easy for my team and for interviewers to use.
- The UI has continued to get better over the years; clearly the product is continually being improved and new features being built.
- The live chat feature is really helpful (I've used it many times), though it's been a little confusing knowing if we had an Account Manager to call with questions; I believe we had one when we first signed, then were told later we no longer had one, now we have one again?
- Lots of helpful integrations, with G-Suite, Docusign, Linkedin Recruiter, etc.

Cons: - Reporting functionality is rather lacking. I find it not useful and challenging to use. My team uses excel sheets outside of Greenhouse to manually track all our metrics, like time to fill and how many screens it took to get to a hire.
- Pricing spikes if your employee count grows, so you may be paying significantly more for the same product in a year or two.
- Keeping track of passive or prospective candidates is nearly impossible. Unless someone is an active candidate in an active job, it's likely I'll lose track of them.

Pros: First off, the Greenhouse team is super responsive to questions! The simply chat window at the bottom makes it easy to get a hold of a representative when there is an issue. Overall, the entire system is SO easy to use! I train new hires and managers on the system and I only get a few that come back with questions. The offer process - easy. Changing the interview plan - simple. Scheduling, adding permissions, creating templates - it's a breeze. We moved over from a previous ATS that was not intuitive, customer service was miserable, and we felt very limited on what we could control with the system. Greenhouse is very customizable, super easy to use and troubleshoot, and encompasses everything that an ATS should!

Cons: The one downside to Greenhouse is that they constantly are updating their UI to the point where it confuses the users! I find that after I've created training material, Greenhouse will change the UI and I have to take new screen shots and update my deck. They then do not update their own training material quickly enough for users to use. I've also found that they have been having some issues when it comes to the communication between Outlook and the system. They have had to change the scheduling alias multiple times from calendar@greenhouse.io to calendar2@greenhouse.io to schedule@ghcalendar.io to fix the issue.

Recommendations to other buyers: This is great for our start-up! We are excited to grow with Greenhouse and know that there may be some growing pains along the way that they will need to work out. But they are open to feedback and treat their customers wonderfully!

Pros: Greenhouse allows our organization to streamline our hiring process. From applications to interview feedback to offer creation, everything is much simpler since implementing Greenhouse.

The best feature, for me, is the interview kits and feedback. It allows us to set up interviewers for success during interviews and make sure we have consistent selection criteria. Also, the scorecards make gathering feedback much easier, I don't have to chase down hiring managers anymore.

Throughout the buying and implementation process, everyone at Greenhouse was great to work with. They were transparent with pricing, worked within my expectations and timelines and did a great job helping me through the implementation process. I have now purchased and implemented Greenhouse at my last two organizations.

Cons: I think the one area that can be improved/added is more features focused on nurturing previous candidates.

Greenhouse is a great recruitment software that creates a very smooth process.

Pros: The system is very flexible and quite intuitive. The screening tool helps saving a lot of time and communications with candidates and the hiring team is quick and easy. The recruitment pipeline can be tailored for each recruitment and all the interview notes or test results are stored on the candidate profile. Reporting options cover all the information you need to understand your recruitment trends. The system also facilitates referral schemes, panel creation, internal job board and multiple job board if you have different branches.

Cons: As with any systems, there are always small details that could be changed to suit personal preferences. The interview notes once exported in pdf could be better designed and I would like to have more options for the interviewer profile. The phone app has recently been updated and most functions are now available - hopefully the next upgrade will include the possibility to email candidates!

Used them all, GH is a dream come true. THANK YOU

it makes me happy

it makes my hiring mangers happy
it makes my CEO happy

Cons: They don't have an HRIS function ... (yet?!)

Overall: I have 10+ years of experience in the Talent Acquisition space and I've used just about every ATS you can think about, from the monsters (Taleo, SilkRoad, etc.) to the startups (Jazz, Lever, Jobvite).

I've never felt compelled to write an online review before, but I'd never been blown away by a recruiting tool before either.

Out of everything we've been working on this year nothing has had a more dramatic an impact on my team's success than our switch to Greenhouse last year. For me, it's the everyday workflow and productivity improvements, the confidence that we're focusing our efforts in the right place, the pride that we're more on top of it all than any other recruiting tam I know.

I don't know how I survived without their incredible reports - I can give the CEO the hard data showing why we need the funding we do, or how much we've improved since the previous quarter, or what we need to do to prepare for the hires we'll be making in 6 months...

Even just seeing how the HM's actually use it and knowing they're on the exact same page as the recruiters has been a dream come true.

Thank you Greenhouse!

Pros: The implementation turned out to be easy and straight forward, with great customer support along the way...
Creating new job openings is simple, with many items easy to customize to our specific process. Creating new candidate profiles is straight forward with the integrated CV parsing. Generally speaking, navigating through the system is smooth and dummy-proof.
Greenhouse helped us reach the next step of our business grow and development, with standard Talent Acquisition processes in all our geographical locations across the globe, while always proposing applicants a professional experience. And just as importantly, it helps us share information and integrate totally the Talent Acquisition functions within the "business" functions, facilitating exchanges with interviewers and hiring managers.

Cons: Due to data privacy protection compliance, we cannot provide access to Greenhouse to all our workforce, which limits the capacity of employees to make direct referral

Overall: faster recruitment cycle, better internal communication with all stakeholders involved in the Talent Acquisition process.

Pros: Not only is Greenhouse easy to use, evolves with our business, offers new features and functionality but the Customer Support and Account Managers really listen to feedback. After discussing questions on chat I often make suggestions for future features to add to the product roadmap - the amazing part is seeing my suggestions come to life! Being a Greenhouse user for the past two years I have seen many of my ideas added and my Account Manager always adds a personal touch by letting me know when my ideas will go live.

Cons: Being in Ops and an Admin I always wish for more flexibility and customized options for users' permissions and reporting. Greenhouse offers other options to meet our needs but I would love to be able to build my own unique permission sets, reports, and dashboards.

Overall, our experience has been quite positive. We have seen a lot of growth in the product.

Pros: Ease of use is a big pro - one of the main deciding factors to choose GH 2 years ago
- Being able to keep most of the recruiting process in one tool
Follow up reminders
Scorecards are a nice value add
Excited for the ever increasing reporting capabilities
DocuSign and HIRED integrations
Stage notifications
Notes and mentions feature
Offer and email templates
Candidate survey
Tagging
- I'm sure there are others...

Cons: - While not a total con - scheduling - trying to find internal room availability is not as intuitive as we would like (not as intuitive as using Google Calendar to find the rooms outside of GH) - other than that massive improvement to scheduling
- Rejection notifications if people have gone through a stage in our process - we may be the anomaly as our hiring managers handle most of the recruiting process where us as recruiters facilitate the process and schedule interviews

Pros: I like the customizable features that Greenhouse offers. It allows you to adjust various items of your workflow to meet your company's needs. There is so much Greenhouse can do in the way of making your workflow process smooth for hiring efficiency. You just need to spend the time laying out the process so it is set up how you want.

Cons: Greenhouse is still in a major growth phase. As a result, your rep/Customer Service team often responds with "that isn't a feature we offer right now" to just about every question you ask them. They are big on pushing the blame onto something other than themselves (your IT team, a third party vendor, etc). The reps are inconsistent, we have had great reps and then we have had reps that are hardly present. There is a large turnover there so you don't get the chance to develop a true relationship with anyone.

Pros: It's got almost every report I could ask for. Really easy to set up and building & publishing new jobs is a breeze. It's helped calibrate candidate evaluations across our interviewing teams. It integrates nicely with our HRIS & Payroll platform to make the transition from offer to hire pretty simple.

Cons: If there is one thing it is missing, it is the ability to create questionnaires or tests that can be sent out during the interview process. If you want to collect customer Q&A, it can only be done at the time of application. I don't like the idea of making the application process that long for folks who wouldn't pass the initial recruiter screen.

Pros: First and foremost, the customer service. I recently joined a company to start their first recruiting team, and Greenhouse has been absolutely incredible in patiently answering endless questions, helping me with training, and figuring out the best work flow for the types of needs we have. Their instant messaging that is built into the software is also wonderful to have for those quick questions when you can't find something, or figure something out. I love being able to manage job postings from Greenhouse, track where candidates are coming from, as well as the reporting features that are built in. It really is a one stop shop for any recruiter's success.

Cons: The only thing I can think of is when a resume won't parse, which is very rare and an issue within the resume not Greenhouse. They've really thought of just about everything and are making updates and improvements all the time so there isn't much I can think of that is a negative.

Recommendations to other buyers: You will be hard pressed to find another recruiting software that offers customer service like Greenhouse does. This software is also entirely customizable, intuitive, and it doesn't require individual user licenses! This has become the central hub for the entire company to manage candidate workflow and reports, and I wouldn't trust any other ATS out there to be as robust and reliable as Greenhouse. If you are a smaller organization looking to grow, grow with Greenhouse. It will save you a lot of trouble later on down the road.

- UI is intuitive and easy to navigate
- Customer support is top notch - responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable
- They continually roll out new features and improvements, largely based on feedback from their user community

Cons: - There are a lot of reports that come with the system, but no option to build custom reports from scratch
- Managing prospects is a bit messy and often creates duplicates. We've adopted a Talent CRM (Beamery) to help us better manage prospects and talent pools.

Comments: I would really consider Greenhouse before implementing more complex solutions like SAP, Oracle or other more expensive ones. Greenhouse is as powerful, if not more powerful, more flexible and truly modern recruiting software build with users in mind.

Pros: Greenhouse is probably the most powerful, easy too use recruiting software/ATS. Greenhouse is build to allow recruiters and hiring managers to work together, sharing and collaborating easy. Managing your recruiting process could not be easier with custom setup. Recruiters can plug in many services with a very easy to integrate API, giving you access to job boards, social media, video interviewing platforms and many others. Reporting is also made really easy with custom dashboards.

Cons: I really can not think of any downside to implementing Greenhouse - it is a truly standout provider.

It's been a great partnership!

Pros: This is the most intuitive and well thought out ATS that I've used and we consistently receive that same feedback from within the TA team and from the business that we support. The Greenhouse product team is very forward thinking and receptive and it shows in the frequent releases. The interview kits, easy integrations, approvals, referral tool and the mobile app have all shaped the way our team works. We've also had a great experience with our Account Director, which can make all the difference.

Cons: The biggest con for us would be the basic reports. We quickly outgrew them and needed to move to an in-house solution.

Pros: Greenhouse is a very intuitive and easy-to-use system. It integrates with a lot of great tools, from onboarding, to payroll, skills testing, and may others. Their customer support team is among the best I've experienced with any software platform I've used. The support chat function is fantastic, and everyone I've talked to there has been extremely pleasant. The system requires very little training, which makes onboarding new interviewers a breeze.

Cons: The reporting isn't very robust, and the system doesn't support creating custom reports. They do have an Analytics piece you can add-on, but it's quite expensive.

Pros: It's so easy to train new users. The software is intuitive and new users pick it up quickly. It has been really cool to see all the new features added over the years.

Cons: In the past year, I have seen a drastic increase in glitches and bugs with the site. I've submitted more tickets to support and have had to find more workarounds for things like calendars not syncing. Additionally, the accuracy of the reporting feature could use some extra attention.

Overall: Having access to all candidate history, contact info and feedback is a lifesaver when it comes to recruiting and compliance. Greenhouse also helps us establish and follow a clear recruiting process.

Pros: Greenhouse ATS goes beyond just a software, it comes with a community, a easy product, and GREAT customer support. The community piece is huge in the industry. Greenhouse provides ample information on the latest ways to attract talent, understand how to making scheduling effortless, and coaches on best practices for any company size. They provide the best customer support by always answering and problem solving with you, no matter how silly or how complex the question. If they can't resolve the issue immediately, customer support gets back to you within 24 hours and provides an update on your issue. Greenhouse provides a great blog to help you learn about great companies and how to improve your employer branding. The integration with varies software is obviously an added bonus!

Cons: The product is growing like any other innovative company. That said, they have some features that they are working on building to support their clients better. They stay humble and focused on making their clients/customers excited about the builds to come, but set the right expectations as well. The reporting could be improved, but still provides a clean export for excel etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend to try Greenhouse. You won't go back since other ATS don't have immediate support.

Pros: - Alerts when you have to take an action
- it is not only an app is a recruiting expert consultant. Every component of the app makes you think on how to select your candidates. You need to enter a job description, when doing so, you need to think what question would help you to assess the candidate, then you need to think how many phases will have the process, who needs to be involved, you can explicit to the team of interviewers what exactly do want to explore while doing the interviews, etc.

Cons: - If you don't work daily in recruiting, for example, if you are a manger that hires every 3 or four months, the app is a complex to understand, and you can easily forget how to use it.
- For a large company it pays itself, but for small companies that probably don't need all the features but the basics , turns out to be expensive

Overall: great overview of in which stage is every candidate and who is responsible for moving forward the recruiting process candidate, access to the questions and answers, avoid subjective discusión among recruiting team (make decisions based on data)

Pros: Greenhouse is both intuitive and adaptable. It promotes best practices (e.g. structured interview process and scorecard model) and facilitates easy collaboration with hiring managers (e.g. @ mention feature). On top of that, the staff provide excellent service (e.g. online chat support, and our extremely responsive Account Manager, Ben) and the product is constantly improving.

Cons: Would appreciate a new job template to capture enterprise-wide best practices (e.g. competency-based hiring models) and a provision for printable interview guides based on the scorecard. That said, the Support team constantly solicits feedback and releases quarterly upgrades - these features may be included by the time you're reading this!

Overall: Flexibility, ease of use, best practices in assessment and hiring team collaboration, and excellent service and support.

Pros: What I like most about Greenhouse is the simplicity when it comes to managing the entire candidate life cycle from start to finish. They've continued to make improvements in their UI and making it a customer friendly application.

Cons: One thing I've been adamant about over the past year or two is having them revamp their search feature. Being able to search by keywords or past interviews/scorecards is time consuming. Having a built out boolean custom feature would be an amazing addition to an already great ATS.

Pros: Has the architecture I need to roll out a structured and scalable worldwide hire & selection process. Easy to set up backend APIs to connect to the other applications I use today. Priced competitively. Great post-sales customer experience team. Great online training support for new users.

Cons: I'd love to see "free" on-boarding of new EEs and ongoing training. A certification process for recruiters. A few more customizable bells and whistles. A more robust mobile app.

Comments: I implemented Greenhouse when I came onboard to a company of about 19 people. Since then, we have hired about 30 people (over 14 months). It has been really helpful to me since we don't have any other recruiting resources (schedulers, sourcing, etc.) There are a lot of other software providers that integrate with Greenhouse as well (Zenefits, background check companies and onboarding providers). We actually use Greenhouse Onboarding as well since we don't have an HR Resource yet.

Pros: Easy to navigate, immediately posts to many job boards, allows hiring managers to go in and review candidates pretty quickly. Also, the UI is pretty straight forward which allows there to be a pretty simple workflow. Another thing about Greenhouse is the scorecard feature - its never easy to get everyone's feedback from an interview so the scorecard allows you to customize the evaluation form for each position.

Cons: My only con about Greenhouse is the scheduling aspect - you have to schedule each interview separately instead of just making one big schedule.

Recommendations to other buyers: I did a couple demos for Applicant Tracking Systems and Greenhouse impressed me the most. Prior to joining my current company, I had been using jobvite which was OK but Greenhouse is a lot easier to use and provides more ways to get things done faster (even with limited resources!)

Pros: As an HR Business Partner I'm the party that sets up reqs, scorecards, etc. Greenhouse templates make this exceptionally easy. It's also easy to find what you're looking for, or who you're looking for, in the tool. Plus, the slick UI is nice to look at.

Cons: It's an investment and would likely be a financial burden to smaller companies. Also, the freedom and flexibility of the tool can cause reporting and compliance headaches down the road. It's almost nimble to a fault.

Pros: Greenhouse has great features for applicant tracking:
customizable job posting questions
different levels of interactions for the hiring team
multiple interview stages
robust search engine that allows you to keyword search through resumes

Cons: I would love it if the key word search also searched through application questions that are set up by the hiring team. In certain cases we'd be looking for someone in a certain area, but couldn't filter by that question.

Straight forward, user friendly system! Team has picked up the tool easily.

Pros: Easy to use, understand and navigate. Nice design. Bulk actions. Reports (looking forward to customizable reports!!). Boolean search doable. Easy to tag candidates or write notes that are searchable.

Cons: Dashboard "My Applications" should be different per user - so for Hiring Managers just showing Hiring Manager Review, and for Recruiters showing stages they own. You cannot re-reject candidates if rejected without email the first time and need to now send email. Recruiters do not have access to view all candidates, but only candidates associated to their jobs. You cannot do phone screens on prospects unless you convert them to a candidate - not helpful if you need to do a phone screen (and want to save notes in their profile) to determine if you should change them to an active candidate. No split screen when viewing interview kit - easier to conduct interview if you can see resume and scorecard questions side by side.

Overall: The ability to have our entire recruiting process in one place. Helps with hiring decisions that are consistent, as well as helped us implement diversity/inclusion measures. The team is now able to follow processes within one system.

I've implemented Greenhouse at two tech companies and in both instances have seen great results.

Pros: - Great overview over candidates, open and closed jobs, and individual application stages - Great structure for recruiting procedures for a maximum of comparability between candidates - Establish Scorecards for your ideal candidate and let interviewers rate the categories - Great service and introduction to the product - Create own email templates, reaching from confirmation that application was received to test questions with attachments and to rejection emails - bulk actions possible for several candidates

Cons: - The Greenhouse software is quite expensive. The price rises with the number of employees in your company. When you sign up, make sure you also know about the development of the pricing when your company grows.

Recommendations to other buyers: - Is there software customizable to the extend you would need it to be? - What about automatic reminders, keeping track of candidates, automatic replies? - Can you set up interview processes and structures? - Does the software make sure the candidates have a comparable procedure and experience?

Cons: Reporting. There are still several areas for improvement within metrics and reporting.
The scheduling tool has gotten better but I think other ATS' do a little better here.

Pros: Greenhouse staff (all have been fantastic), intuitive to use, ease of scheduling, integration with GCal, ability to merge candidates, reports, training materials for end users, customization of interview kit and scorecards, ease of submitting feedback on candidates.

We are also putting in much more expensive and extensive HCM system. In comparison, for the money Greenhouse is a great value.

We love our Greenhouse Account Manager! He always keeps us on track.

Cons: Job set up can require more of an investment of time and effort by Recruiters and Hiring Managers, which requires change management and ongoing education and training of both groups. However, the payoff means that the rest of recruiting process goes very smoothly.

Greenhouse Analytics product is cumbersome, but happily Greenhouse seems to be putting a lot of effort into building up reporting function. We were warned by our sales person that we did not need this product immediately, and he was correct.

Chat help availability can be spotty at times, though they are very helpful when online.

Comments: Greenhouse is a popular option, but for the cost, hassle of setting up, inability to customize, horrible customer service, etc, it really isn't worth the hype. We used Greenhouse for 1 year, and it was honestly 1 year too long. At this point, I've used Jobvite, Lever and Google Hire, and Greenhouse is my least favorite.

Pros: The UI/UX is great and easy to navigate. Honestly anybody can navigate the site with very little instruction.

Cons: Their customer service is horrible. They use Zendesk and 75% of the time, they do not know the answer to the questions. Their cancelation policy is horrible. Really can't customize to the degree they promote. For small-to-mid size company such as ours, there are better options out there for half the price. We now use Google Hire, and we love it SO much more.

Cons: All of my cons are likely future feature roadmap items. For instance, I would like to repost a job (on job boards) without having to create a new job ID (by duplicating the role). I would love to have an kanban board view when looking at an open role.

Comments: Customer Support: Greenhouse has a built in customer support chat box where you can chat live with someone for assistance. If no one is available then you can always send them an email support request. They usually get back to all requests within a few days and are great at making sure all questions are resolved. Also, all your requests are logged in a ticket system so you can reference them later if needed.

Thumbs Up: Personally, my favorite thing about this product is it is designed to work in the way you would expect to recruit, has an elegant user interface, and is very easy to use. However, as much as I love the product, the icing on this cake is the vendor's customer support and passion for their product. They are super responsive to feedback and continually work to improve it from the user's perspective.

Thumbs Down: I submit a lot of feedback regarding this product and would love a road-map of upcoming product enhancements. Greenhouse has an active Trello board for this, but I am not sure if it is up to date.

Recommendations: When you are evaluating an Applicant Tracking System make sure to try it out before you commit to it. Make sure you have a variety of individuals try it out and participating in demos (Hiring Managers, Recruiters, Recruiting Coordinators, and hopefully the systems admin who would manage the product). If you can't try something before purchasing it then it will be difficult to determine if it is the right product for your organization. Also, make sure to ask everyone if they would enjoy using the potential new system (if people won't use it properly then it won't add a ton of value).

I love using Greenhouse, it makes our processes run smoother and let's me get more done!

I love that it integrates with gmail as well and google calendar which makes everything easier to get done.

Cons: There are definitely a lot of improvements that could be made to make the software even better - for example, when working with external recruiters they often want to be cc'ed on candidate communication but there is no option to set that as a default in Greenhouse. I would also love the option to hide candidate names during resume review so we can work on our diversity efforts more thoroughly.

Pros: We recently made the move to Greenhouse and couldn't be happier. It was the smoothest company-wide rollout we've had with any of our internal systems, and the feedback from members across all of our teams has been positive right off the bat. When we have run into any issues (all very minor) the support for the Greenhouse team has been fast and efficient. With our previous ATS it was like pulling teeth to get a response so it's a breath of fresh air to hear back immediately through the live chat or nearly immediately when reaching out through email. Although we are still fairly new to using it, I'm thrilled by the results so far and excited by the features we are just starting to test out. It's amazing how extensive the features are while still being such a simple to use tool. A+

Cons: It can be a bit of work upfront, so your team (not just staffing but everyone) needs to be on board. The really awesome features of the platform requires you to go beyond just the basic setup. The permissions can also be a bit tricky initially. Not as many levels of access as some other ATS I've worked with. However, overall

Recommendations to other buyers: Ask the vendors to speak to companies that are willing to give them recommendations. We asked our sales reps from each potential vendor to set us up with someone at a company that was somewhat similar to us. Who is using the product is VERY telling, but it's also interesting to see how well they understand your business based upon who they connect you with.

Pros: Greenhouse has allowed me to overhaul our sourcing, recruiting and hiring programs, and has positioned us for immense growth. In just over 15 months since launching Greenhouse we went from 38 people to just over 80!

Cons: There are still some areas where you have to change things twice manually or it won't be updated, still small bugs here and there, and some of the integrations aren't as simple as made out to be. But the platform is still new and I have been impressed working with the people and the company.

Pros: We've had nothing but positive experiences with Greenhouse. It's simply the most intuitive and powerful ATS (and then some) out there. The product is built so intuitively, and it feels like every time we think of something we'd want to do on Greenhouse, the feature is already built and built better than we had been thinking. Their support documentation is some of the best I've ever seen and if we can't find a solution to a particular issue, their live chat representatives are incredibly helpful and responsive. There's no doubt on our team that for ease of use, power, scale and customer service, Greenhouse is simply the best.

Cons: You'll definitely pay for the service as it definitely doesn't come cheap. In our benchmarking, Greenhouse was definitely one the most expensive options out there. So if you're a cash-strapped organization or you're one that isn't significantly scaling hiring efforts, then you might be able to find more affordable solutions.

Recommendations to other buyers: Weigh out your cash situation + future hiring efforts. If you're not looking to significantly scale your team, then you should be able to find more affordable options. But, if you're hiring for multiple positions across multiple teams, Greenhouse is definitely a good investment. When we were hiring for a couple of positions here and there, I honestly had no idea how easy an ATS could make things and couldn't initially understand the value proposition. But ever since we started scaling up and hiring, we've really seen the value add Greenhouse provides.

Pros: So often, applicant tracking systems tend to be missing one or more critical features that are critical for a great ATS. I love that Greenhouse has consolidated all of the best ATS features into one product. Nice user interface, easy user maintenance, candidate scoring, referral tracking, offer letter management, great reporting, integrations with HRIS systems, you name it. It's all there.

Cons: The only thing I feel they are missing is the ability to build automated questionnaires into the interview workflow.

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely take a look. I've worked with many different ATS companies over the years, and Greenhouse has become my go-to ATS. I've migrated multiple companies over to them and it's always a great experience for the recruiters and hiring managers.

I've used Greenhouse to recruit for both Qubit & PlayQ and have had a great experience!

Pros: I like how customizable and detailed the platform is. Each job dashboard is informative and aesthetically pleasing.

Comments: The best ATS I've used to date- the reporting on the tool is incredible making it seamless to show where there may be issues / bottlenecks in pipeline. Scheduling is a dream with the different integrations. The built in templates make it easy for small teams to perform like a well oiled machine. I can't say enough great things about a tool that really understands the millions of tasks one person in HR performs. This tool makes my small team of three look and feel like a team of 10 with all its functionality. Definitely worth the money you'll make up in no time with happy candidates ready to work for a well tuned organization. It Really is so important to have a seamless process, greenhouse helps tracking to make sure no candidate/task falls through the cracks.

Pros: Every aspect of GreenHouse is amazing, Full cycle recruiting / talent system with HR perks! Full integrations make it easy to love

Cons: I'll admit I just started working with Greenhouse, but I'm definitely used my fair share of ATS- I have yet to find one thing wrong with this tool other than the pricing structure (which isn't huge - just more of a growing pain for a start up)

Pros: Most ATS's are built for HR departments, they are bulky, slow and outdated. Greenhouse is a recruiter's ATS, positioned to help any company that looks at recruiting as a vital function of scale. The ability to track and nurture active as well as passive candidates as they progress through the recruiting process. One of the most important functions of Greenhouse is the interview and evaluation process. Greenhouse prompts recruiters and hiring managers to think about the "why" and the "how", why is this role open? what are we looking for in a candidate? And how do we measure? If you're at a company in high growth mode and you understand the importance of a modern recruiting function, you have to use Greenhouse.

Cons: As with any early stage company there are minor bugs and glitches. I would also like more insight/input into the product roadmap.

Recommendations to other buyers: Before you spend money on Greenhouse, decide what you will be using it for. This is a recruiting platform that is built for real scale, you won't find much value in using it as a resume repository.

One of the best tools on the market ideal for growth companies who believe in structured interviews!

Pros: Easy to use and navigate through. Great Customer Support team that usually responds right away. I feel like my voice is being heard with them.

Cons: Greenhouse made some changes and now a lot of our emails from GH are going to peoples spam folders. This never used to be a problem and all of the sudden it is. I've done everything they have told me to do and yet the problem still occurs for at least 60% of our candidates which makes my life more difficult.

Pros: Overall, the software is user friendly and provides and provides quite a bit of options, without being overwhelming. We have had to contact customer service a few times and they are always friendly and more than willing to explain what we're not understanding.

Cons: With the new version of Greenhouse, users are unable to add galleries of photos anywhere on their website, which they were able to do on the previous version. In addition, it's very difficult to add buttons with links to external sites to any section. The section must be a donation page in order to have a button.

Pros: Greenhouse is very easy to use. We had no issues with the set up, importing candidate resumes, and setting up our process flows in a way that makes sense to everyone, even casual users (hiring managers).

Cons: It takes a bit of focus to get the hang of the search but the support team assisted us and now we are proficient.

Overall: We were able to quickly implement and build a great database of well qualified candidates. We now have a central place where colleagues in remote locations can be aware candidates, interviews and hires. Also, we can respond quickly to the hiring needs of our organization and scale for contract wins.

Pros: Greenhouse is a beautiful system. Most line managers have been able to log on and get started without any training from me or GH. If you are even the slightest bit savvy with social media, then you'll be able to get up and running with this software quickly. I love the fact you can connect with Facebook, Twitter, etc. and easily email from the system. The reporting tools within GH are really impressive. There are tons of stats just a couple of clicks away!

Cons: The price is what I like the least. I did demos for 5 systems. This was the priciest by far, and they increase the price yearly. However, you don't need to worry about how many line managers have log in info as it's just a flat fee. I can see how with other systems, where you pay per head, the price would start to get up there quickly.

Recommendations to other buyers: Greenhouse is the perfect system for a growing company. If you just have a few jobs here and there and a few line managers, then the price is probably not going to make the system make sense. I currently have 20ish jobs with the same number of hiring managers. If your business is growing then GH is the way to go. It way more modern and up to date than any other system I have seen or used in my 7 years in recruitment.

Comments: Planning and Implementation are key!

Pros: Very user-friendly system if set up properly on implementation! This system can do so much it is amazing. It made filtering resumes very easy and I really liked that it tells you an estimated time of completion for reviewing resumes. If you need a hand quickly, Greenhouse offers "live chat" I found that super helpful!

Cons: This system can do so much! That was a pro and it's also one of my cons. If you don't need certain features, don't start them off in your implementation. It can really get away from you.

Pros: Greenhouse is extremely customizable! You are able to add in various custom stages, templates, and forms through the platform. We used this ATS as we scaled from 50 employees to 120.

Comments: I did a thorough analysis before choosing Greenhouse over competitors like Jobvite, Workable, Cornerstone, and Taleo (which was our legacy system). It seemed like a daunting task to migrate all our data and learn a new ATS, but I am so glad we did it and in retrospect it actually wasn't very difficult. Greenhouse completely managed the whole migration. Our whole HR team loves Greenhouse and now we realize how Taleo didn't actually help us recruit better, it just allowed us to file candidates away and maybe find them in the future.

Pros: My favorite parts of Greenhouse are the automated email tracking, the ability to queue emails to send at a later date, and the ease of use for managers and interviewers to provide feedback.

Cons: There are a couple areas that Greenhouse can improve - 1. Emails disappear if you click off of them in the same screen, 2. Availability should save after sending it out to one candidate so that you don't have to keep putting it in, 3. Email signature needs some improvement to look good and be easy to change.

Pros: The reporting functionality makes it easy to understand the current pipeline and to evaluate the effectiveness of the overall process. Additionally, Greenhouse has done a nice job of focusing on "what really matters" when it comes to building a valuable ATS...scheduling, collecting feedback, running reports, etc.

Cons: The product isn't as customizable as others I've worked with, and at times it would be nice to be able to make some company-specific changes. That said, the product is still fairly new and there are a lot of product additions/enhancements on the roadmap.

Recommendations to other buyers: I've yet to work with an ATS that has everything a team wants, and I think different applications are suitable for different teams, depending on size, specific needs, etc. That said, Greenhouse is the best ATS that I've worked with.

Pros: We transitioned to Greenhouse from Taleo and it has been one of our best decisions because the product operates the way a good recruiting organization operates. Our old ATS would simply track and hold info (basically we did the work and told the ATS what we had done as a record) but Greenhouse actually facilitates our interviewing, selection and hiring process. It also easily integrates with our background check system and Workday. As good as this is the support we have received from our Customer Success Manager as well as the integration team and the reporting system team has been amazing. I would give them a perfect Net Promoter score.

Cons: the reporting offering could be built out a bit more for organizations that dont have their own reporting groups in house

Pros: The ease of use really makes this product stand out. The ability to flow through the different stages makes moving people through pipelines a really simple process.

Cons: There are a few cases where one is sorting through candidates in process and interacting with their profiles will take you out of the the sorting list making it where you have to re-search the candidates to find them again.

Overall: I've used multiple ATS's as a recruiter and this is one of the better one's out there. It has a lot of integration functionality and a few chrome extensions to help with prospecting and data imports. The workflow of everything is pretty good as well. It's really easy to organize notes and having interview scorecards makes saving details during the interview a simple process.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would say keep on improving the product and maybe improve the self help section, there's a lot of outdated information from previous versions.

Pros: I love this system and we've only been using it for 3 months. Its so easy to use and a great way to involve the whole company in the recruitment process. We used to use a simple database for housing candidates but not only does Greenhouse house candidates, it tracks candidates like no other system. Literally everything can be done through one system which reduces the need to use several browsers and tabs to set up interviews, collect feedback, etc.. I love the custom scorecards and interview plans for each role and the user interface is amazing. The customer service is impeccable. No matter what day of the week or the time, I get an extremely helpful response within the hour - it doesn't get better than that. Greenhouse is a MUST have ATS.

Cons: It can sometimes be tricky to find candidates you have rejected or after a role has been closed - you have to remember to convert them to prospects.

Recommendations to other buyers: Think about what it is you are hoping to achieve when evaluating a new ATS. What value are you hoping to get out it and always consider the bigger picture, for example, would a small company benefit from a cheaper, more basic ATS or invest in something that sets you up for success as you grow?

Comments: Greenhouse is a very robust system that can handle any size of company. I used this for a growing start-up company and it brought our recruiting process to a new level.

Pros: Reduces Bias in hiring, creates amazing candidate hiring process and user support far exceeds expectations

Cons: Calendaring and Scheduling interviews between managers and candidates can become a bit laborious. It became easier as new releases were issued to improve their systems.

Pros: Smart ATS that streamlines recruiting activities and organizes recruiting activities as well as post-hiring activities.

Cons: Greenhouse was not my first ATS and therefore I found it slightly less intuitively laid out than other ATS I have used.

Comments: We implemented Greenhouse two months ago, and went into our relationship with Greenhouse holding impossibly high standards. So far, Greenhouse has met or exceeded them all.

It manages the end-to-end hiring (not just applicant tracking) process in an intuitive, elegant way, that delights me as both a software geek and as a recruiting manager. Moreover, though, it delights our interviewers and hiring managers, who are no longer begrudging participants in the hiring process, but engaged and happy champions of it.

Beyond having built an elegant product, Greenhouse has one of the most responsive, helpful, empathetic and action-prone support teams I've ever worked with. I can ping our account manager (or the CEO) and get a (helpful) response within minutes. They are completely transparent about their product roadmap and actively solicit customer feedback to be continuously improving the product.

No more of the proverbial cursing the ATS. Greenhouse does #allthethings in an intuitive, automated way. It has alleviated the necessity for a lot of our disparate third-party hack solutions and processes, and integrates with all the third-party tools that are invaluable to our process. It's the best investment I've made since I started recruiting.

Comments: Greenhouse has been an awesome applicant tracking system. Not only is it easy to use but it stores resumes for you so you don't have to keep track of it.

Pros: Easy to use, has many integrations, and does a lot

Cons: I wish it did HRIS

Recommendations to other buyers: For a size of an 80 people company this system works well!

Pros: How intuitive it is, how many features there are, how it lets us have the flexibility and power we need.

Cons: Sometimes integrations can get glitchy (Google Calendar). Wish we had more flexibility to create our own custom reports.

Comments: Coming from another (not to be named) ATS, Greenhouse was easier for my recruiting team to learn intuitively. That said, there is also an immense amount of support and documentation to help with internal training.

Also, the ease of use on the part of the interviewers has been positive. Once you've done the work setting up scorecards and making sure that information is accurate, interviewers know exactly what they're evaluating during the interview. Furthermore, if they're not able to submit scorecards for some reason, you can submit a scorecard on someone's behalf.

Something to think of as you start using Greenhouse is what data are you going to want to capture, and what is essential to keep that data's integrity?
Also, there are so many features in the product, your employees that refer candidates can follow candidates and get real time information as candidates move through the process. You can customize the interview kits and help the calibrate interviewers as you look at the data.
I'd say spend time delving into the product and think about how you want to use it for a bit before you launch, and prep accordingly (with interview kits, scorecards, etc.,). That will definitely help you in the future.

Comments: There are many features within Greenhouse that are useful, but it's the flow, simplicity, and configurability that makes it worth the investment. The platform is quick to implement with little overhead (in fact, our small recruiting department handled the implementation by ourselves with little if any tech support). There are at least a dozen pre-configured reports that come with Greenhouse out of the box - and they actually work when you use them! Our customer success representative / post-sales rep is great. She is smart and open minded and willing to work with us (even if our questions are basic and fundamental. Whenever going through and upgrade to a new platform, this is absolutely critical.

Pros: Reporting is great as it comes. The flow operates as a recruiting thinks and works their desk - which is refreshing. Most ATS's feel like "HR" and this feels like "Recruiting". The ability to use the notes section as a place to mention things to your hiring managers/co-workers with a simple "@" sign is pretty sweet as well.

Cons: No mobile app (yet, 2015) - but using a mobile web browser actually works, so you can get stuff done on the road, if you need to. Also, I think there are some minor visual things that will be improved over time, but this really is good stuff all-in-all.

Wonderful product, excited to see more features.

Comments: Our tech-start up has used Greenhouse for the past two months and have found it to be leaps and bounds better than other hiring platforms. Greenhouse makes everything so simple for hiring mangers, human resource managers, and basic users. We've found the candidate experience to be much better using Greenhouse than past products we've used. We love the scorecard feature as this makes it easy to compare feedback in a consistent manner for all candidates. The customer service from our Greenhouse reps has been outstanding (they are even willing to come to our office to do in-person demos for our team). There are just a few features we would like to see from Greenhouse, and Greenhouse reps have made a point to bring our suggestions/ideas to their product team. We love Greenhouse!

Pros: Awesome customer service, product is so easy to use that even the laziest hiring managers can do so with ease :)

Cons: Have found just a few features we would like to see that haven't been included in the platform yet, however the Greenhouse team is always willing to listen to these ideas and take feedback to their product team.

Pros: This product is intuitive, simple, and often customizable, and the customer support is fantastic.

Cons: This is tough to answer here because every time I have an issue they fix it in the next release. Also, I think my only gripe is a result of the fact that this product is so customizable. However, if I had to choose something, it would be the ability to make mass edits to the details on the requisitions. For example, if you have created a perfect template in Greenhouse and copy that for everything, this won't be an issue for you. But if you created several different ones that all have slight differences, it's very time-consuming to go back and edit each one independently.

Recommendations to other buyers: Really dig deep on the level of customer service when looking at different options.Greenhouse has rapidly become a leader because they have a great customer service team who is responsive, very smart, and great listeners. They take the time to truly understand their clients and have very fast turnaround. This has caused the product to continually get better and better.

Comments: This ATS has helped me stay organized, see what I have to do next with each candidate, it makes my life easier since I don't have to be chasing interviewers to put their feedback, Greenhouse does this automatically for me.

Pros: I love that one can stay very organized with this product. This product was just what I needed. It is easy to use, customer service is always there to help you no matter how many times you ask the same thing, they have a great implementation program that helps you set everything up. Greenhouse has great integrations that make everything more efficient and save so much time.

Cons: At times it can be tricky to use some things. Once you delete something, it is gone forever and there is no way of getting it back. The calendar is also a little tricky to set up.
