Pros: - For those who do not know, is the competence of Microsoft Office, open source and I can say with complete certainty that it is very good and can perform almost all the same, if we are casual non-advanced users.

- It is easy to install, intuitive and easy to use, it is multiplatform, it comes in different languages, it has a portable version that can be carried on a pendrive.

- Currently I use the version Version: 5.0.1.2 and although it is free, I do not have the freedom to update it in the pc of my work.

- A great advantage of LibreOffice package tools over your competition, is that I can export to PDF or HTML without installing anything additional, as it is included in your menu.

- It is important to familiarize yourself with the format in which the documents are stored as it can be confusing when sharing with another person, usually sent in .odt or in the case of Cal I send it .ods and if by chance they tell me that they can not open it, because what I do is recommend that you download LibreOffice before converting it.

- You can make tables, insert images, graphics, make macros, bring templates by default for trades, communications, cards, curriculum, all tools are compatible among themselves, from my point of view has greater variety in fonts.

- If you want to start in the world of free software, the first step is to install LibreOffice.

Cons: LibreOffice allows you to open a .doc, an .xls, but it is possible that something will move or something will be unraveled at the design level, the content will be there but something can be distorted.

Cal has its limitations in terms of macros, the number of columns, has few styles of graphics compared to Excel.

The documents in LibreOffice seem to be slower to open.

Pros: LibreOffice is very intuitive because it is based on rather traditional menu structures that make it easy for users to find features. It offers most of the features that MS Word offers, and most of the time implements them in an easier to understand fashion. LibreOffice can import documents from MS Word and does so usually flawlessly.

To avoid compatibility problems with MS Word, I advise using .odt format to create and edit your documents and only convert to .docx when necessary to send a copy to someone who uses MS Word. This will avoid most corruption problems.

LibreOffice is available in portable format. You can run it from a USB flash drive on any computer. This was extremely convenient for me when travelling and doing research- I could use any convenient computer and run my own complement of portable-apps including LibreOffice.

LibreOffice appears to be very efficiently coded- check out the size of the installation code (around 200mb) compared to MS Office 2013 (nearly 800bm).

The Document Foundation, which supports the development of LibreOffice, is dedicated to open standards to avoid proprietary vendor lock-in. The software is free to download and use- this is essential for grad students working on a budget. Open source software helps ensure that people have access to excellent software tools irrespective of their capability to pay.

Cons: Sometimes it cannot import MS Word documents that have special formatting.

It's more difficult to find quick solutions to formatting complex documents. It appears that the majority of professional instructional materials focuses on using MS Word.

Overall: I've used LIbreOffice since its beginning in 2011 and prior to that I used OpenOffice. LibreOffice is, for me, a superior alternative to MS Word as I have no concerns about vendor lock-in.

Pros: LibreOffice forked from OpenOffice in 2010 and has since become the premier open source office suite.

It has many pros:

-- open source license and thus is free. Most importantly, it is created by a community of developers who believe good quality software should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford it. Most of the world's population cannot afford a license of MS Word, nor do they have access to the internet. Open source software ensures that disadvantaged populations have better access to good software. Additionally, the open standards used by LibreOffice ensure that user's data will remain accessible and not locked into a proprietary format from which it cannot be extracted.

- standard menu. LibreOffice has smartly chosen to continue using standard menus rather than "ribbon menus" which many people find confusing because they change based on the task being performed. Few studies have proven that ribbon menus offer any productivity advantage whatsoever.

- easy to use. All of the features of LibreOffice are quite easy to use and plenty of third-party documentation and tutorials exist online.

- rapid development. New versions of LibreOffice are released every six months.

- LibreOffice has plugins for use with Zotero, an open source reference manager. This makes it an indepsensibe tool for university students and researchers.

Cons: - because it is under rapid development, the "FRESH" releases of LibreOffice sometimes crash. The "STABLE" version is, well, more stable, but I've still had it crash or freeze on me, although its unusual and no more often than MS Word crashes.

- While LibreOffice can open and create MS Word documents, sometimes the formatting is not exactly the same.

Pros: This document editing app is simply the best i have ever used. i came across this application as an alternative to the mainstream software when i decided to try Linux and since then i have never gone back. The software is lightweight, easy to use, feature rich, a plethora of helpful options and most of all, it is free.

Open source; this software as against the other popular options does not make its users wait a very long time for updates and the regular updates that comes to this software is as a result of how other people with software development knowledge can add features they thought are missing and on and on it goes until the software gets to the very top on the chart of document editing softwares.

Spell check integration; what makes writing fun on the libre office is not only the fonts and the many options that aids productivity but also the spell check integration and the uniqueness of this spell checker is the fact that it is not only limited to the writer app, it can be judiciously used in every of the softwares embedded in the libreoffice suite.

Cross platform support; finding out that libreoffice is not only limited to the linux operating system heightened my interest even more as having it on the windows platform and on macos means i can do away with the paid alternative i had been putting up with for years now.

Cons: is there something i don't like about this software? The answer is no, i love every bit of it as it handles all the task i throw at it as a writer.

Pros: For those of us who need to present to the top management of a company, workers or a specific audience, Microsoft Power Point is an ideal partner.

This program helps us generate work presentations of all kinds, full of texts, animations, images, graphics, videos, etc.

Pros

- Allows you to create unique, original and innovative presentations.

- You can place images, texts, animations, gif.

- Can be combined with videos or graphics.

- The presentation can have audio, background music and effects for each slide.

- It has the potential to be able to link to other Oficce documents such as spreadsheets and Excel tables.

- You can program a time in each template so that the presentation is passed automatically.

- You can create a specific fund by downloading it from the Internet or with the support of a design professional.

Cons: - Requires license for use.

- Its best performance is only obtained in Windows, it can not be used in other operating systems.

- When you record in a Windows format and then open in another operating system, the animations are lost, the elements are moved and everything is very bad.

- When the presentation has many animations it becomes slow when opening it.

Overall: - I always use it to put together presentations of internal campaigns in my company.

- I use it to project annual communication plans.

- I use it to lift workers' records.

- I use it to send information to the president of the Company.

Pros: LibreOffice is a great alternative to costly Microsoft Office suite. It is compatible with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents and is completely free. It utilizes a standard toolbar as opposed to the "ribbon" used by current Microsoft products, which may make it easier for some users to adapt. In addition, the Linux version of LibreOffice is the finest office suite available for Linux users. Ability to export files to .pdf format is a big plus.

Cons: While the default file formats are fine, if you are sharing documents with Microsoft users you will need to either use the "save as" option to change the default format, or change the program's defaults to those of Microsoft products, i.e. .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, etc. Also, the product does not contain any built in clip-art, but such clip-art is readily available elsewhere.

Overall: Not only do you benefit from the initial cost of the program (as opposed to MS Office) you also benefit due to free updates. Sharing LibreOffice documents of all types with Microsoft users has proven to be flawless, with few or any very minor compatibility issues.

Pros: I have worked in a free software environment and I have tried other similar LibreOffice options, and the latter is the one I liked the most. It is very comfortable and easy to use, you do not need training to start working with that. It has some qualities that are distinguished: You can work on Linux, Windows and Mac; is free; It occupies little space on the disk and is easy to install. It is functional, works in various extensions, including some that no longer come in private software, but are widely used in special programs such as cartography and geography.

Cons: There is something that I do not like free software in general and that LibreOffice does not escape, it is the technical support assisted by the community that uses it and develops it. Generally, if you have any concerns you should go to the forum, and sometimes these forums can be overwhelming.

Overall: When you need to import or export data tables with geographic attributes, they are required to be in specific formats, so that they can be used in Geographic Information Systems, such as the .csv format. Since the release of Microsofts 2007 suite, those formats were no longer present. Therefore the use of LibreOffice, allowed to fulfill my work, even optimize it.

Pros: That's the good thing about free software, that you can find packages like Libre Office with a lot of potential and completely free. If your computer does not have large resources, or you can not pay a private license, this software is for you, you have the whole package. If you have knowledge in traditional office automation, you will not have any problems.

Cons: The interface could be more attractive, I know they have devoted a lot, and it is not fair to describe something wrong with this computer proposal, but I want it to improve because it offers everything without a large payment except a donation. If they make those small changes they could attract more users who stop using private office automation. Another aspect that I recommend to change, is the language, if a person wishes to use Libre Office in Spanish he must install an additional pack, for that reason, it is preferable to do a multi-language installation, and that the user with few clicks decides the language of his preference.

Overall: You save money, a similar proprietary software can cost you more than per license, but LibreOffice can be your office computer support just by downloading the program. You can use it on computers with few resources, which allows you to avoid investing more resources in a hardware. Another benefit is the number of formats that you can read and export, you can go from a pdf to a .doc, it adapts very well to the price and function ratio. I have no major complaints.

Pros: I love that this powerful software is free. I am not a fan of Software As a Service which keeps you paying every month forever or having to buy extremely expensive software. Libreoffice is free though you can and should donate something toward continued development and it is more than enough for most small business use. I use the spreadsheet app the most to track my business expenses and inventory. It does all the calculations and charts I need to stay on top of my business and satisfy my accountant. The document app also gets used a lot for my business correspondence, book writing, notes, etc. Both apps allow me to easily format my input anyway I want to make both functional yet eye pleasing documents. I also like how it handles PDFs.

Cons: It is not Office so don't expect it to do everything just like it. It doesn't hook into other software, a fancy spreadsheet will look a little different, etc. but it does so much that it is a suitable replacement.

Pros: The possibility to use all the office software for free is the best feature of Libreoffice, this software brings all you need, word processor, presentation creator, sheets manager, pdf creator and so many other features, all this for free. The tools of this software are so similar and powerfull as MS Office are, you can create documents, presentations and work with data in a very easy way.

Cons: There are a lot of incompatibility between Libreoffice and MS Office and this can be a great limitation, because the most of people uses MS Office and sometimes when you share and document created in Libreoffice with someones who uses another software this can be a little corrupted or do not adjust perfectly to the other software, creating a problem for people who works with other application for presentations and documents.

Overall: Libreoffice bring me the possibility to do create my documents and presentations without any worry about licenses or payment, this is the best option for people who cannot afford the payment of a private software.

Pros: LibreOffice pretty much allows me to do anything that I could possibly want to do in a similar suite (like Microsoft Office, or iLife), but without the necessity of paying for a full suite. It integrates almost seamlessly with most other Office products, so I never have to worry about file compatibility or anything of the sort. It runs smoothly, and rarely crashes--usually only if I'm asking it to do a lot of work all at once, and even that might be more due to my computer's capabilities than the capability of the software.

Cons: There are some key features that it seems to be missing, especially when it comes to Calc, and it slows down a lot when making a big ask. It can take some time to boot up, as well, but once it is up and running it works well. It occasionally has trouble parsing alternate file types and loading them with formatting intact, but never seems to have an issue with exporting to various file types.

Pros: This office suite got it all for me - word processing, slide shows, spreadsheets, database and mathematical formulas for free. It is a free and open-source software that helps me in doing all the documents I need for my lecture, spreadsheets that has the ability to do accurate calculations, slide shows for my presentations, database for my programming activities and of course designs for my drawings. I can definitely say that this office suite "suits" to all my information processing needs.

Cons: I am a fan of FOSS (free and open-source software). I enjoy all of their features because it seems that I am paying for the license but in reality I did not even spend a single centavo. There is nothing I don't like about the LibreOffice.

Overall: The main business problem that this office suite solves is the license. I don't need to pay for all of its features. I love it!

Pros: At one point I didn't have MS office on my computer. I used LibreOffice for a long time as an Office replacement. Of course it's not exactly like MS Office but it is very close! Many of the tools are very similar to MS Word and MS Excel so if you know these programs you'll be able to use LibreOffice. It's also great that it allows you to save it as Microsoft Doc. It's a very convenient and best of all it's FREE! For people who can't afford MS Office for the time being I highly recommend LibreOffice.

Cons: The software can be a bit glitchy. Formatting isn't quite as reliable as it is on MS Office so sometimes you have to do a little extra work but it's definitely worth a try for anyone who needs Word and Excel but can't afford the Microsoft software. Make sure you save it as a Word or Excel document before you send it to anyone because people won't be able to open a LibreOffice file extension.

Overall: Overall I've had a pretty great experience with LibreOffice aside from the few glitches.

Pros: 1. For the most of part it provide features like Microsoft office suit means it can write in doc file and read them can make presentation like powerpoint and spreadsheet like Excel and do you know what it is free of cost as it is open source means anyone can see it;s code behind and contribute to it.

2. Even it were paid and obviously cheaper than Microsoft then I would go with it.

3. Compatible with most of the office document.

4. Not that much heavy to system as of Microsoft products.

Cons: The reason I sometime dislike is I went from using Microsoft product to Libreoffice so it makes life harder when you work on the full package thing then go to just it;s replacement.

Functionality is missing compared to Microsoft product but good with Google product in this segment.

Overall: Replacement of Microsoft Office Suit.

Pros: LibreOffice has been a life saver for me since I work on Linux systems a lot of the times and this is the only real complete office suite that I have found not on on Linux but on other OS as well which is very stable and gives the MS-Office suite a run for their money. We can do almost everything we can do with the traditional MS-Office suite here. It comes with a Word Processor, Presentation Software, Spreadsheet and more. It can open files saved in its own format as well as in .docx .pptx and .xlsx. The best thing is that it is open souce so anyone with a bit of proramming skills can take it apart and cutomize it to their needs and works on almost all major Operating Systems.

Cons: There are places where the apps in LibreOffice fades in comparison to other paid rivals which is quite understandable since this is built and maintained mostly by the community. On some linux distros I have seen it crash without any apparent reason and the UI really needs a lot of working on. Also the animations available in LibreOffice Impress (alternative to Powerpoint) are not upto the mark and not as smooth as one would like to have.

Pros: Libreoffice pros: you can download it for free, install it on any PC, it works correctly and you will gradually add certain improvements, which are made by the community of free software developers. It has many features such as the office of Microsoft.

Cons: This software has few things against, at least the case of not having all the functionalities of the Microsoft office, it does not have a similar one to the Microsoft one drive and sometimes it changes the presentation formats made in power point, which generates problems between users when opening files with extension ppt or pptx, to which they change text format, background and alignment of images.

Overall: This software allows me to do all my operations of spreadsheets, presentations and text without any problem and the best thing of all is that you do not have to pay user license

The functionality is exactly like other software there are no complications to use any of its apps, you can do the same that you do with a private software and for free with Libreoffice.

Cons: Like happen with another GNU software Libreoffice sometimes can be a little unastable, and can close without warning or running with a lot of lags, another by issues is the incompatibilty with MS Office, and this is a big problem because most of the people work with this software and the major of the feature of Libreoffice does not match with MS Office.

Pros: Libreoffice has all the features that a private software offers, with this you create documents, tables and graphics, presentations and diagramming, this software does not have anything to envy of a private software. All the features are so easy to wor for it and everyone can get use easily. I like all the moduls and I can work easily and for free with this software.

Cons: There are some troubles with compatibility when you use Librecad an another person MS Office, because some app does not match, and this can be a problem if you are constantly sending and share files to someone who use mainly MS Office, it is better for both to use Libreoffice and you will not have any problem with compatibilty of files.

Overall: Use for free all the apps that in the past I have to pay for was the major benefit that I get from Libreoffice, I can do everything with this software (documents, presentations and projects) without any limitation for payment or additional features.

Pros: It is free and open source. It does not track you and respects your privacy. It is compatible with GNU/Linux. It does not cost anything.

Cons: It lacks features and templates, compared to alternatives, especially in presentations. Android app is really bad, lacks basic features and has ugly UI.

Overall: A great office suite, though not as powerful and feature rich as others. I have been using LibreOffice for the last two years, the migration from Microsoft Office was easy, and now it is my daily driver. I use it to view and edit mostly text documents, as well as spreadsheets. Presentations are where I feel that it fells behind compared to alternatives, yet considering that using it has no cost I am more than satisfied. To conclude LibreOffice is an overall decent office suite that provides more than basic functionality at literally zero price.

Pros: From its name libre, its free office suite, who wont want that? Plus it has improved a lot since i used it back when it was named open office. The functionality is more advance then google docs but less then microsoft office. The UI had improved drastically over the years of using it.

Cons: If you come from microsoft office and does a lot of stuff there, libre office feels like a downgrade at first without the ribbon UI, libre office feels like an old application. In Calc, you would find missing a lot of advance features which gets better with libre office 6.1 but still lacks compare to excel.

Overall: For a free software its really good, wish they update the UI to atleast material design so it would look more modern.

Pros: I like it, because it is an office package that includes a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation editor, graphics editor, drawings and diagrams, among others. It includes the possibility of exporting presentations, text documents and data tables in PDF formats directly, allowing them to be played on any computer with a Flash player installed. On the other hand, something very important is that of most free software applications, it is much safer and more reliable, with little chance that between a virus to your computer. It is very easy to use and can be learned just by putting into practice the options offered by each of the programs in this package.

Cons: What I do not like is that some design features and format attributes are handled differently or are not compatible with other packages, for example some designs and formats are lost in other files with other programs, color changes, letters, among others.

Overall: It benefits me because it is a complete office package and very easy to use and learn new options.

Pros: For a great alternative to Microsoft Office look to Libreoffice. It is a fully featured Office suite that works on Windows , Mac or Linux. It has full interoperability with Microsoft Office document formats and all of the features you use in Microsoft Office. It is free and open source so you can download it and make your own tweaks to the code if you so desire. It works and works well.

Cons: Some of the most advanced featured of MS Office are missing.

Overall: I have been using LiberOffice in a Microsoft world for quite a long time and had no issues. I can import and export documents in office formats and office can open Libreoffice formats so there is no worry about compatibility.

Pros: I think what gives this document software a competitive advantage over other document programs like Microsoft Office, is that it is a free version that is compatible with .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, and .pptx files. Why pay for Microsoft Office when you can use a document program like this one that lets you do all of that for free? I use this all the time and it's convenient for me, lets me do everything that Microsoft Office can.

Cons: I don't know if this is a different problem or a problem with LibreOffice, but I notice sometimes when I am typing in the document with a specific font, letters cut off at the top or bottom sometimes. I don't know what it is, I've tried to fix it many times by making changes in the format menu, changing the spacing, etc. and nothing seems to work.

Pros: Free office is the package of basic tools used daily, they are incorporated into the computer for the use of various types of documents, including Word (text documents) Excel (database management) Power Point (dynamic presentation of information). This also has an app for mobile devices and it works great.

Cons: So far there is nothing that disgusts me. It is an excellent package and depending on the version (year) that is used, it updates new commands. The mobile version has some limitations of file editing.

Overall: It is daily use in my work, the use of the app allows me to view from my cell phone any free office document that you download.

Pros: First of all, it's free. But free here does not mean you are getting a lame tool to work instead of a pro sophisticated one. This a pro tool for all.

You get word processor, presentations, spreadsheets and much more. All those nice feature you can find in other commercial office suites are present here.

It is available in a portable format. So, if you travel a lot and have one of those laptops with limited space, you could run LibreOffice from a flash drive. Very convenient!

Compatibility with Microsoft Office is full and there is a version for MAC and PC as well (also Linux). So if you are looking for a nice office suite for free, Libre Office will be that and mucho much more.

Cons: It could be a little complicated to learn and find the right customization for your needs. But other than that, nothing.

It is not a good looking tool, but it does the job just as good.

Pros: You could absolutely make every kind of document you may know. Yes. There are so many feature included in this suite that you could make any document that you've been asked to do.

Besides, the generated documents are so light that you could transfer then in absolutely no time. The other similar tools end up producing a bit larger file size for the same document. Beware.

Cons: For a new user, the icons do not convey an articulate meaning, they may spend some time on the internet trying to understand its meaning.

Overall: - Created multiple resumes in less time

- Easy to import-export documents to and from pdfs

Pros: This program is intuitive and mirrors MS office enough that it is easy to use and figure out the functions. The program can be saved in an MS office format so that other can open documents, if they are not sporting Libre. A donation to the company to keep the program up and running is the cost. From writing, inserting pictures, changing fonts, printing to PFD, MS or Libre, it is a great program.

Cons: I spend a fair amount of time educating my clients on Libre , hoping they will see the light. MS is more popular than Libre, hindering people's ability to make a switch. The price alone is worth the switch and the small about of trouble to set up. I have never used customer support.

Overall: Saving money and getting what I need in a software, always my best benefit>

Pros: Free and Fully functional package in itself , also available for windows , mac and Linux machines.

Easy to install, lightweight and supports MS office formats.

Excellent choice for start ups and personal projects as their is no need to pay anything.

Cons: Some issues in opening Libre writer doc files in MS word, there might be some formatting issues.

UI is confusing for new user who is migrated from MS Office to LibreOffice , also UI feels bit outdated.

Overall: I use it for most of my work related to documents , spreadsheets management.

Also plus point for me is it is free and easily available for downloading .

Pros: LibreOffice has been a great alternative to MS Office. Most of our employees just need to be able to do basic editing and saving of office type documents. LibreOffice has done a great job of providing a free alternative for users who need an office suite but don't need the extra features and plug ins of MS Office. If you just need a standard office suite, this is a great option!

Cons: If you are used to MS Office, it will take a little bit of time to re-learn the file menus but it shouldn't be too hard.

Overall: We use LibreOffice for our users who don't need all the extra features that are in MS Office. Users can still save and edit MS Office files to the network and share them with other users without the need to pay for an office suite that is overkill for thier needs.

Pros: I love the way Writer handles inline images. Also, Libreoffice by default supports open document formats as well as the ability to create and edit pdfs. My primary OS is linux and I can say in recent times, Libreoffice can hold its own against the most popular office suite compared to a few years ago. Best of all, its free and open source if that is important to you.

Cons: The UI looks dated which frankly could be said for many other suites.

Overall: I love it. At first, I didn't understand it but after switching to using linux, I had no other choice than to use Libreoffice and now really love it.

Pros: - Free (as in free beer and as in free software).

- Powerful: it is a long time since we need a feature that it does not have, even features from MS Office.

- Extensible: very easy to script and to create addons.

- Versatile: its server mode and its APIs make it really powerful for companies, a microservice on its own.

Cons: - Confusing and outdated interface, especially if you have to deal with configurations.

- Very resource-intensive.

Overall: While I'm impressed by MS Office elegance and Google alternatives, LibreOffice is a really powerful tool and I'd rather recommend using it as a first option.

Pros: For a majority of office suite users that need word processing and spreadsheet tools, LO does the job of providing a useful feature set using standardized and documented file formats without vendor lock-in. Compatibility with proprietary suites is very good when looking at core features, not so much in the more advanced specialized areas of publishing layouts and data analysis. LO can open and save a multitude of file formats, saves to PDF natively, supports object embedding, scripting and user macros.

Cons: The GUI is admittedly dated and less polished than some commercial products.

Overall: For document creation, where compatibility is not an issue, LO has all I need. I'm able to produce letters, flyers, brochures, labels, charts, and evaluative spreadsheets for my business and to communicate and share with customers. I don't think about versions, upgrades, licensing, user counts or subscriptions while using LO, and it's available for my Linux, Mac and Windows computers.

Pros: I think the biggest advantages of using Libreoffice are: 1. It allows many people who can not afford a license to use a quality product. 2 .- they have thought that not everyone has access to the Internet for 24 hours, so they have tried to help with that difficulty. 3.- It allows the use of a file in several platforms, for example if I generate a file in MS word in libreoffice I can see it. 4.- do not forget the updates, they are very important to keep the error correction and fault prevention up to date,

Cons: In certain occasions failures occur when accessing documents created on different platforms, for example I open a file in MS Word and it does not show how it was created in libreoffice, but I know that this is a very critical and dicial point to attack

Overall: previously we do not like its interface but it has improved it a lot, it has served us in pcs that are low performance allowing to give new use to those old

3. Quick installation with easy to use user interface.

4. Multi-platform as it works on Windows and Linux.

5. Comprehensive office suite that you can use to create text documents, spreadsheets, presentations and databases.

Cons: 1. Compatibility issues with some documents.

2. User interface is ugly and out dated.

3. Sometimes not stable and responsive like MS Office.

Pros: LibreOffice contains all of the basic office capabilities at no cost and works across platforms (Windows, Linux and Mac OS).

The OpenDocument (ODF) format works with MS Office files and can be exported to PDF.

I use LibreOffice as an alternative to MS Office. Writer is a word processor similar to MS Word and Calc works with spreadsheets, similar to Excel. It also includes Impress, Draw and Base, which are alternatives to PowerPoint, Publisher and Base, respectively.

Cons: LibreOffice doesn't look as good as MS Office and the interface takes some getting used to. The Options menu is especially confusing.

Impress and Draw are pretty limited compared to PowerPoint and Publisher.

Even though a LibreOffice Viewer function is available for Android and iOS, it doesn't offer full capabilities. I use Google Docs, Sheet and Slides on my phone and tablet instead.

Overall: The main office capabilities, free of charge.

I use it both on my Windows and Linux computer.

Pros: It gives me all the necessary tools for my daily, professional and personal work, of total and free availability. It is an office suite that provides text processing, spreadsheets, presentations, flow diagrams and drawing, all of very good quality and easy to use.

Cons: The adaptation process is difficult, but once empathy is generated with the interface it is very easy to use. It generates rejection in users who are used to using other work suites for offices, but it is a process that is achieved without difficulty.

Overall: It allows me to produce text documents, databases, spreadsheets, flow diagrams and drawings, free of charge and of high quality. It makes me feel that my work files are less prone to virus attacks.

Pros: The software is multiplatform, it can be adapted to my needs, it is free, the office suite changed considerably; this can now perform a series of tasks that previously could not; one of them was to rotate an image inside the document, look for an element now has a drop-down list, they included new numbering styles giving the user many more options to choose, the styles of the tables are more beautiful, you can build tables and get graphics in a very fast way. One of its great advances is that now the autocorrection dictionary allows to create and modify the language depending on the country where the user is, the graphic environment of the help in much more pleasant, they changed the icons for some more beautiful and practical; now, a document can have a security key.

Cons: The documents are saved by default with the extension of .odt which can not be read with the Windows operating system, there are very few people to provide support, the programs take a long time to open, you must add more fonts.

Overall: The company saves a lot of money because you do not have to buy a license; after the improvements it is a totally more usable tool for the requirements of the organization

Pros: All that I need to make documents for my job and my personal life I can do it through Libreoffice, it has all the tools I need, one for documents and sheets, others for presentations and drawing, and two more for database and formulas, this software it is so powerfull it has the same tools that MS Office and you can installed in any computer without worrying for the license or the number of users. I can do all the things that I need with Libreoffice and for free.

Cons: The world of the office suite is dominated by one company, so Libreoffice has a lot of incompatibilities with most of the tools of MS Office, so if you are working with a huge group of people it is recommended that all of you use Libreoffice and everybody the same version, if only one person uses other software you can have a lot of trouble building your documents.

Overall: Good alternative to the pay software, is powerful and can help a lot a specially working in house and using some of the tools, specially Sheets which you can configure by your own and makes easy its working.

Pros: Best part about LibreOffice is the cost. It is completely free, although you can donate money to the developers if you feel generous.

I can use LibreOffice to open Word files and Google Doc files for editing. It has many of the same features that Microsoft Office has with out the bloated cost. Unlike Word, LibreOffice will work on Linux bases systems.

When you open the program you can choose which type of file you want to work in: word processor, spreadsheet, or presentation. It's nice to not have to track down each individual software title like you do with Microsoft or Google

Cons: What I like least is how the software saves. The software does not save in a .doc or .docx by default. It saves a .odt file. Yes it does still open in Word, however, there have been times when I opened an .odt file and some of my formatting was off. Not a deal breaker by any means and you can choose to save as a .doc you just have to remember to select it.

Overall: I'm a writer so I often try many different word processing tools to get the best results. As much as I like Microsoft, LibreOffice is the next best thing with out the added cost.

Pros: Libreoffice allows you to use all its tools for free, it is not necessary to buy an expensive version to enjoy it to the fullest as it happens with MS office, has from word processor to sheet manager, presentation creators and pdf, really very complete also is compatible with Windows and Mac and takes up little storage space, is used and installed easily.

Cons: The customer service group does not respond quickly, sometimes it is necessary to go to forums to clarify your questions, mostly you can only share documents created with this software with people who also use it because generally the documents created have incompatibility with other software such as MS office, which makes it difficult to share them.

Overall: I have used this software for a long time but mainly to create documents with texts that I don't want to share because I tried to do it several times but the other people couldn't open the documents because of the incompatibility between this and other software with the same function.

Pros: LibreOffice is perhaps the best of the free/open-source office softwares. It includes all the important apps and features that a standard office suite should have.

Unlike the other free office suites like Google docs/sheets etc or WPS office, libreoffice has no hidden charges and is actually available as windows software unlike Google's products.

It has a decent looking user interface, and is very very stable. I have rarely experienced any crash or hang.

Libreoffice is also better that other open source office suites in that it is kept up-to-date by it's enthusiastic developers.

It includes 4 fully-featured softwares alternatives to Ms word, Excel, PowerPoint, and access. A charts-module works across all of them.

The whole office suite has few hundred MBs of size that downloads and installs in a flash.

Cons: But the conns are that

There are no versions for iPad or Android etc.

No cloud intergation unlike Ms office whoch has free OneDrive

Collaborate is way too much behind MS office or Google Docs etc. Because you still need to send the file to someone let them edit and then either accept or reject the changes unlike Ms office which let's real-time collaboration on documents

It has only 4 softwares included in it. No alternative for Ms project, teams, Skype for business, onenote.

No online version means it is not possible to access it anywhere (unless you download and install free of cost on windows PCs).

Overall: a great choice of office suite for windows if one can not pay for microsoft office.

Pros: Similar to Office, Open Office and other, also based in the original open source software, this fork is very useful for persons or companies that need a complete solution for yours documents (spreedsheets, word-like, presentations, draws). High compatibility with Office documents (No total but high).

Cons: The really cons its the compatibility, if documents have many o very complex format will be an little problems to opens these.

Pros: Word and Excel have been completely replaced.. seamlessly. In fact.. replaced in a SUPERIOR form.

Cons: Nothing. The whole suite is perfect. It INSTALLS seamlessly and is FREE. What more can you ask?

Overall: What office doesn't have to write documents, or read documents sent to them? The defacto standard is WORD DOC and DOCX.. Libreoffice reads and writes those formats seamlessly. The second most frequently used and sent/received file is a SPREADSHEET. Again, Libreoffice EXCELS *(see what I did there? ha)* at BEATING Excel at it's own game. And I also use it to convert sheets to DBASE files.. which is something of an archaic procedures.. but Libreoffice provides me with that functionality as well.

Pros: I have used LibreOffice quite a bit over the last few years since it split from OpenOffice. It is a solid and very useful alternative to those who do not want to shell out for Microsoft Licensing.

Cons: Although it is great in its own right, LibreOffice is lacking in a few features that Office power users will likely miss. However, for students and people who need a basic office suite LibreOffice is more then up to the task.

Pros: LibreOffice is free and widely used by people and institutions around the world.

Updates to the software are free (as in no cost).

With LibreOffice I can create high quality documents, presentations, spreadsheets, drawings and mathematical formulas that are compatible with many other Office suites like Microsoft Office or Google Docs.

You can easily export as PDF, image format, vectors, etc.

Compatibility with Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive.

Compatible with lots of document and presentation templates.

Cons: It does not update automatically, therefore, you have to check if there is a new version and download it by yourself.

Less templates included than other Office tools.

Overall: Fast and easy setup. Have a full-featured Office suite at no cost.

Pros: The fact this full functioning software is totally free is insane. They also are great with customer support and adding new features that the community asks for.

Cons: Not quite as many features as you'd see in paid solutions like Microsoft Office. Slow to implement changes even if they do eventually get around to rolling it out.

Overall: Free office suite for use, great support and great functionality if not 100% comparable to larger scale suites.

Pros: in general it allows me to carry out all the activities that I need in the word processor and in spreadsheets, presentations, I can download it for free on any fixed or portable computer, the files can be viewed in proprietary software. Its interface is pleasant to the user. It allows to save the documents in non-editable formats (pdf. Images) for the protection of the copyright on the content.

Cons: the execution of some basic processes many steps are needed to obtain the result, I do not like the color palette and the output of the graphics both on screen and printed. The biggest difficulty that has been presented to me is convincing the work team that the software is easy to use, basically due to ignorance of people about this free alternative that exists.

Overall: it allows me to produce text documents and databases, I do not have to pay for it, the files are less susceptible to being attacked by virus

Pros: Ideal if you're collaborating with users of Microsoft Office or if you're changing operative systems. There's little difference between Microsoft's and LibreOffice user experience; the icons and toolbar are recognizable. And you can navigate easily using a keyboard rather than a mouse if you prefer

Cons: The selection of templates is limited compared to Microsoft's. There are plugins to add advanced features, in various items, but it's something you have to know in order to have a better experience. I might add, a period of adaptation for older is necessary.

Overall: The interactions between diferent systems. In my line office there're people that use Windows and Lynux, and LibreOffice is a bridge to work with programs form both packages.

It's a great product if you need to write up a document or create a presentation without the hassle of dealing with fees to use the software! The features and options LibreOffice has to offer are very comparable to what you would find with Microsoft Office. Extremely pleased with this product!

Cons: The only disadvantage to this suite of applications is the ease of use. It is such a phenomenal application but does offer many features that can potentially be overwhelming for a new user.

Pros: This is very simple tool for editing and viewing your files which has huge potential to be one of the greatest documents editing software. It do provides many integrations which try to imposter like ms office. Librecalc can handle many datasets together without consuming many resources.

Cons: You can not find support that easily for it. There are also some options which you don't get in libre office as the integrations are not as good as ms office. But overall it is good for such software which is highly affordable.

Pros: LibreOffice is basically the most usable and most complete office application out there, and it's free beyond being open source.

It's reasonably fast and bug-free, well maintained and supported by a vast community of developers and users.

Its compatibility is good but it ultimately depends on the complexity of files.

Cons: The user interface can be slow, also the look and feel is not great, but it's guaranteed it will get better and better given the effort of its community.

Overall: I started using it many years ago when it was called StarOffice (bought by Sun Microsystems at the time), then it became OpenOffice, and finally LibreOffice which came as a really good surprise given the support its community gave to it.

Pros: I wrote my bachelor degree thesis with this suite. It offers most of the features of MS Office and it's free-as-in-speech - and beer. If you need to know how something is done you'll easily find an answer on the web, thanks to the community around it. If you never got used to Office's "ribbon" this is definitely the office suite for you. You can export in many formats including pdf, docx, xlsx.

Cons: Compatibility with MS Office formats is limited of course, so you'll better stick with open formats. You'll most probably lose some formatting in docs and functions in spreadsheets. If you got used at MS's ribbon, going back can be quite painful.

Pros: I like that this is a professional package offered for free. There is a lot of help available online in communities if you're having difficulties with any of the more complex features.

For word-processing, spreadsheets, presentations (which can easily pair with a phone-app remote), and basic databases, this is my #1 choice.

Cons: I find that I work mostly collaboratively in recent years and so I have found myself using GoogleDocs. However, for working with bigger files and datasets, LibreOffice remains my tool of choice.

Overall: I've used this for professional reports, databases of retail inventory, business performance spreadsheets, and posters, all for free.

Pros: This IS the alternative to Microsoft Office if you don't want to spend any money. They did a very good job of making each app similar to its MS Office counterpart, though, in my opinion, a little better.

Cons: Some of the programs have slight feature differences, which can make the learning curve more difficult. Particularly, I think Impress and Calc (the alternatives of Powerpoint and Excel, respectively) are a lot harder to learn than their MS Office alternatives. However, I also believe Impress is better than Powerpoint overall, and calc is just as good as Excel.

Overall: Great. It's easy to use, familiar, and free. What else could you ask?

Pros: Being open source is just one of the benefits of this package, you can achieve great deal of complexity by using it, and is a great alternative to more establised softwares.

It has great functionality under big files, and can make some jobs become trivial.

Cons: It lacks some VBA functions and it may be a bit hard to get resources to understand them from, as the tutorials are not as common as for more extablished softwares.

Pros: It's free! And it works with all popular formats that are thrown at it. And there really isn't any document features in it that we are missing and the workflow is almost identical to each other.

Cons: The lack of online integrated features with the product suite.

Pros: LibreOffice is very easy to use and provides most of MS Office features. The best part is that it's open source and I never met performance issues. It's well integrated with MS Office files and I really like that it can be used on different operation systems.

Cons: The only issue that I found using LibreOffice is the old looking design. I think it looks outdated and it can take new interface.
