It is a great alternative for my clients who do not want to pay for Microsoft Office. Pros The fact that it is free is what my clients like best about it. Most people do not need the advanced features available in Microsoft Word or Excel and so this office productivity suite works beautifully. Also I love that it will open up so many different types of files. Cons Not much to complain about with this software. I guess the look and feel of the product is my least favorite thing. It has a great editor with many functions. There are regular updates with improved features. It's not any more difficult to learn than Microsoft Word, but it's not the same, so it took me a little time to learn the functions that I needed. Pros I use LibreOffice to secure my course ebooks after creating them in Microsoft Word. They offer more functions than Word to protect them from being copied I also use it to create short ebooks for my courses, art and to sell digital information. It's a great and diverse tool for ebook creation. Cons Although I'm able to make the ebook text documents created in Microsoft Word secure with passwords and disabling functions, the right margins are sometimes cut off. Cons I find LibreOffice's interface to be less polished compared to some other office suites, which can make it feel less intuitive. Pros It works like older versions of Word, and I like that! Word has changed radically several times and I hated it. Version after version, the learning curve is not steep. Has all the features I need. Cons Have had some formatting problems, particularly with higher-numbered headings.
