### "Prodotto gratuito, funziona bene con alcuni limiti"

May 1, 2023

### "Excellent product with 1 or 2 killer bugs"

July 30, 2022

1.0

Since we try to avoid paying excessive software rental fees (i.e. Microsoft Office), LibreOffice has been a lifesaver. It can open documents that we have not been able to open with our outdated 2003 version of Microsoft office. But we simply can not use it for critical documents or documents we put a lot of work into formatting. By mistake, one or more heavy black horizontal lines will appear in the document, and then they can not be removed. They can be made to jump around, to a point, but they can not be removed. Also the spacing may suddenly change to double spacing, and it is impossible to change it back to single spacing. So we simply can not use this product for critical or time-consuming documents, as marvelous as the program is otherwise.

Pros

This product could fully replace Microsoft Office, if only a few bugs were removed.

Cons

The program installs black horizontal lines in documents that can not be deleted. It also shifts to double spacing and can not be turned back to single spacing.

### "Glorious alternative, but look somewhere else"

May 23, 2022

3.0

I have been using LO for years, when I used Linux-only PCs for my day-by-day work. It's always been a struggle, both for the interface (clumsy, crowded and not standard) and the compatibility with Microsoft formats. I tried a lot of alternatives with mixed results (your milage may vary).

Pros

Free and full-featured, including all the tools you need for document productivity (including a DBMS)

Cons

Compatibility issues and clumsy interface make it quite difficult to use

### "More than just a free software"

June 2, 2021

5.0

Pros

The software provides everything I would expect from an "office" software package. It's light, which is terrific if you're running it on a PC with an outdated processor or limited RAM. Also, this software has the feel of "earlier" MS Office editions, so if you're seeking for something similar, this is an excellent option.

Cons

I suppose the user interface might be a little more current; some people enjoy it, while others dislike it. It doesn't bother me. Although you can't expect flawless for this price, I don't have any concerns or dislikes with this software. Overall, a fantastic product that i enjoy using it.

### "Why Pay More?"

July 22, 2021

5.0

LibreOffice makes it easy to communicate/interact with others, regardless of the office suite they may be using. It provides a high degree of flexibility, is reliable and costs, literally, nothing if you choose to skip donation.

Pros

It is open source software that draws on the skills of very talented users to provide a donation-only product that compares very favorably with any other office suite.

Cons

The only small complaint, if you could call it that, is with the interface. It works well but is less attractive than some.

Reason for choosing LibreOffice

The issues I've had over time with MS Office and somewhat limited capabilities/compatibilities experienced with Apple products.

### "Great Productivity software"

August 5, 2023

5.0

Perfect no complaint at all. Beautiful GUI, blazing fast with every single tool to get the job done.

Pros

It starts out being Open Source and Free. Its an awesome software with everything a productivity suite needs. Everything from word editing to calculation sheet works fantastic.

Cons

The only thing that would stop from moving all my clients to LibreOffice is the Use of Macros. In Dominican Republic the goverment Tax regulators manage somw documents that uses some specific macros for clients to report their taxes. Sadly they dont work on libre office, otherwise this software is great.

### "Great office toolset for those who want to avoid the market leader"

May 26, 2021

4.0

I used LibreOffice for all basic "office" work, mainly writing documents and creating spreadsheets. I really like the fact that is so fast and light to use, compared to for example the newest versions of MS Office, which to me seems like getting bulkier every year. I only need the basic features, so I didn't dive really deep into the features. But I am sure that an average user can get very far with LibreOffice.

Pros

The software offers everything that I expect from an "office" type of software combination. It is lightweight, and that is great especially if running on a machine with an older processor or not much memory. Also, there is a certain feeling of "older" MS Office versions, so if you are looking for something like that, this software is a good choice.

Cons

I guess the user interface could be a bit more modern, some like it, some don't. I don't mind. I don't really have any issues or dislikes regarding this software, even though you can't even expect perfection for this price. Overall, great product.

Reason for choosing LibreOffice

I used Apache OpenOffice for years, but then there were some glitches that forced me to move away from it and I used LibreOffice. However, recently I have used more and more SoftMaker's Office that is also installed on my laptop. It is a quality program too.

MS Office (or 365) felt very bulky and unnecessary slow, plus there were many things in the interface I didn't like. Too many features that were unnecessary, just cluttering the views. And the whole MS 365 ecosystem is unnecessarily complex. I prefer the old way - buy software, install it, use it. No constant logging in, half of the stuff in the cloud, etc.

### "reliable, powerful, essential"

January 3, 2019

4.0

I'm a consultant with nonprofits and work with clients all over the world, most using Microsoft products. We've been able to work together, sharing files and editing each other's work, very easily. Sharing files is a substantial part of my work, so it's essential I have a reliable tool.

Pros

What I love about this software is that it's free and of high quality. It looks and feels like any word processing, slide show presentation or spreadsheet software, including Microsoft's office products. It does everything I want it to do in terms of producing documents, creating presentations and crunching numbers. I can open old files created in other programs relatively easily, and I can save my material as a Microsoft file, which my clients usually prefer.

Cons

The support documentation is lacking, and the support forums often aren't helpful to those of us who are not software programmers and coders. I'm an end-user and need help focused on someone that is simply using the software for everyday office tasks - but often, I cannot figure out how to find that help. Also, saving a file as a Microsoft file often affects the layout - not in a good way. There also seems to be some accessibility issues - I created files for a client who told me this, but she couldn't easily explain what the problem was.

### "The new go-to Office suite!"

February 28, 2021

5.0

LibreOffice is a perfect alternative for other Office suites. It's opensource, it handles multiplatform collaboration very well, and it's a breeze to switch from any other office suite.

Pros

LibreOffice is unbelievably easy to hop in for a newcomer - no matter what you've been using previously. Because most of us, its users, are probably "switchers", either from MS Office or OpenOffice, LibreOffice not only makes up for the software we've been using before - it also does a lot more, and does it in very intuitive, effective manner.

Cons

I hate the fact that I've hesitated so long to actually try LibreOffice. But after installing it and giving it a chance to shine - it was love from the first sight.

### "LibreOffice - a complex tool at no cost to you!"

December 3, 2021

4.0

This is really a great product, all and all! It is free of charge and you get quite a bit under the hood! If you need to do a few basic routine tasks with documents and to perform some basic spreadsheet calculations, this is a great place to start - and you don't have to pay anything for it!

Pros

There are a lot of advantages and since this is a free software, these stand out more than those of paid competitors . One can easily setup and install this on your machine, the document editing and making slide shows is very simple and after fiddling around for a few minutes you will find your way around most basic features. The spreadsheet functionality is also very good if you want to perform a simple calculation which is still a bit too complex for a plain calculator. And for more advanced users, there is a lot to sift through, there are a lot of powerful functions and formulas you can find for yourself, assuming you have a good background and know what you are looking for.

Cons

Sometimes there is a compatibility issue with margin formatting and other styling clashes where you can't save it in another format, like an MS Office format, without risking some glitches. One way around it is to export to PDF, if the end user only needs a read-only access. Another con is that there is really a myriad of different options and one needs to have some experience with document management to know how to utilise these properly. A beginner will probably use only 10% of what LibreOffice has to offer.

I use it daily and I have nothing to complain about, it meets all my daily needs, and it brings savings because it is free and open source software.

Pros

the fact that it is a collaborative software, for free is one of the biggest attractions. Although there are functions that other paid software has and it doesn't, it's still the best value for money and has taken a lot of people away from piracy.

Cons

especially in terms of spreadsheet functions, it is still a little far from microsoft's competitor.

June 10, 2022

5.0

Used WordStar, word Perfect, Ms Word and a handful of others. While this may not be as shiny, it can be as powerful and eventually as good. I am loving the open source and public domain type products that don't fleece you with subscriptions and having to pay extra for all the features.

Pros

August 15, 2023

5.0

Cons

### "Libre office software is lightweight and helped me with my work when I was working in a multi-financ"

May 10, 2021

5.0

I used to use it for a long time in my first job, to access the office calc libre is easier and less heavy when accessing similar products. But there are some differences in the formula used but they are not significant, but in my opinion it is easier and lighter to use the office calc libre.

Pros

Libre office software are light to use on my office computer first. For the needs of processing data, the existing features are quite helpful, and it is very helpful because in one company we use this software, so access to shared file formats is no problem. And in libre office can also open several similar file formats from different similar software. In the office library we can also process data in the form of words, sheets, presentations and others.

Cons

Sometimes I have difficulty accessing file formats from similar software, but only a few, such as the xlsx format from Microsoft Excel, I have difficulty accessing the files, the files do not support. But other needs such as word and presentation support with Microsoft Office. In my opinion, Libre presentation appearance is less attractive, too basic, but the access provided for editing is more or less the same as similar products. Before being able to share online was also a drawback if collaborating with my current business.

### "Indispensabile per l'uso domestico e per l'ufficio"

February 1, 2023

5.0

Esperienza totalmente positiva.

Cons

### "Free Office Software "

October 14, 2020

5.0

Overall, LibreOffice is a good software to install locally if you don't want to pay the price of MS Office, or if you don't want something cloud-based like the Google Suite. For a free product that doesn't have ads (a major bonus, by the way), you can't go wrong. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone on a limited or no budget. Or if you don't want to go with Office for whatever reason.

Pros

The best part about LibreOffice is it's free. It will do pretty much everything you could want a word processor to do. The rest of the Office Suite is on par with MS Office and most of the other free products available. It isn't cloudbased (like the Google Suite) so if you're wanting something locally installed, this is a great option. The setup is similar to MS Office, so switching between the two products isn't too confusing or difficult. Obviously there are some difference, because of legalities (you can't just copy one software and rename it!) but there isn't enough difference to cause confusion. LibreOffice uses the same shortcuts as MS Office, so you don't even have to worry about learning new keyboard shortcuts. It offers all the usual tools, including tracking (which I think every author uses at one point or another).

Cons

There is a small difference in page count. So if you're going by page count, and not word count, you're going to run into some challenges. Also, LibreOffice has it's own save format, so you have to remember to choose the more common word doc extensions (.doc and .docx). You have to really search for a few features, but considering it's not a clone of MS Office, it's to be expected that not everything will be in the same place.
