Whether you just want to stay on top of latest trends to boost your popularity on your personal social media page or you need some help marketing in the competitive world of social media platforms; Social Monkey has what you need! Pros I recently heard about this site and I was very curious about how it could enhance my online affiliate business. If you are familiar with affiliate marketing you will understand that it can be very profitable but there is a lot of competition out there. Most affiliate marketers (myself included) are very aware of the power of social media in marketing. Social Animal is unique as a marketing tool because it feeds you all the important information in one place such as what is trending on social media. Staying current on trends is the lifeline of social media popularity. I can find what is hot at the moment and blog about it or make surveys. There is endless opportunities to create a fresh and current feel to my business social media group. In addition when you give the site your selected keywords it will use them to find topics specifically related to your group's interests. For example if I want to know what makeup brand to select to try to make commission off as an affiliate, I can use Social Monkey to find influencers who are popular at the moment who might be doing tutorials on a certain brand. I can incorporate this influencer's video or social media link in an ad for the makeup. The site has everything from hot trends in tech to social issues, food trends and more. The UX is excellent, and much thought has gone into "ease of use." I especially like that employees immediately understand how to use Social Animal - even without any coaching. This is a huge time saver. Pros Content marketing is all the rage, and it is talked about frequently at every event and conference I attend. But it is extraordinarily difficult to find fresh new content for websites and blogs. Enter Social Animal. With this tool, I can find segmented information on the keywords I want in seconds. No more fumbling around the internet and finding older stories, Social Animal provides fresh content sources and information on influencers that we can interview for our news websites. Cons There is not much to criticize here! But I have not found a dark mode, but I understand that it is coming. So I hope it arrives soon. Got the deal on appsumo for almost nothing compared to the value it provides. The support is excellent and responds very quickly. Pros I did not know what to expect when I first logged in. Was met by an intuitive interface and decided to read the documentation to prepare for teaching my employees the platform. I quickly realized that the tool was incredibly simple to use yet deep in functional complexity. I could scrap 3 other SaaS and only use this true swiss army knife of social marketing and research. Our favorite part is the social research function where we gather relevant information, posts and trends from our niche effortlessly. Cons It was not as easy as I thought to teach my employees to use it due to the nature of the platform. Expected a simple social media manager with some bling bling functions and got a real powerhouse of a trend and market research tool. Our copywriter loves it to gather ideas and keep it with the latest. Reason for choosing Social Animal It was very cheap and looked fresh so I took a chance and I'm very happy I did. July 21, 2020 4.0 The UI is very user-friendly, the interface in-fact is so simple that there is no need of any onboarding material or tutorial videos. The tabs are self explanatory Pros Being a content creator, we were forever in lookout for a tool that discovers the trend and buzz all over the social media. This can also be done manually but than the time and resources required will be far more taxing than subscribing to Social Animal which does it all in a wink. Yes, thats how long (not really) it takes SA to help you in planning viral campaigns. Social Animal is super helpful in audience/keyword product research for positioning and SEO. I also like that they partnered with AppSumo to offer early adopter pricing Cons I still think I prefer SparkToro's overall feature set, but for the price, Social Animal is useful for beginners. I think it just needs a bit of product guidance, to make the interface more attractive, combine the features more and improve the user onboarding process. It will be a strong competitor for Buzzsumo, for example, when it does this. I've used it to research a few competitors for a client and get a better idea on the content that's out there already. This allowed me to create a fresh strategy that has a foundation for success. Pros I've used many content marketing tools in the past. From SEO-specific ones to research-only ones. Social Animal does a great job in 3 areas: - finding content from competitors/similar products -> this allowed me to have a basis for the strategy we wanted to create - keeping track of mentions -> without this, we wouldn't have been able to see, in one single view, what the status of our own brand was - find great facebook content -> I didn't even know this was possible, but it allowed me to understand how content will perform BEFORE I posted it Cons While Social Animal is great in 3 areas, it's a bit of a mixed bag in the middle. First, there's the overall interface. Some is reminding me of Buzzsumo, other times of NinjaOutreach. Not a bad thing in itself, it just doesn't spark joy. Feels a tad outdated. Second, the features don't really connect to one another, or so it seemed. You can find influencers for example, but can't find their emails to contact them. Or at least I couldn't. Features seems separate from one another. The third thing is about the upcoming/beta features. While it did say it had sentiment analysis for the Insights feature, I wasn't able to find that element. I am very happy to have purchased the application. Cons Unfortunately for Spanish-speaking users it does not seem to be able to find results as relevant as when searching in English. Actually I send a newsletter every week and this tool helps me identify and include relavant links from across the web related to my niche. Cons I wanted to use this tool to come up with new blog titles on trending topics but so far found it difficult to use for that purpose.
