SimpleLegal has been a fantastic tool for our legal department. The platform is incredibly intuitive, making our e-Billing and spend management process much more efficient and giving us clear visibility into our data

That there is no warning when you are approaching a new spending tier, so it can come as a surprise to get a bill well over what you'd budgeted.

Pretty simple to use - don't like the fact that there is an entirely different platform for vendors. the response time for tickets is very fast.

Pros

easy approval process and the dashboard is helpful. I really like the new feature where you can look back at the invoice history

Cons

some things could improve on. pulling reports can be finicky and you have to manipulate the spreadsheets after they download

Our experience with SimpleLegal has been excellent from start to finish. A couple of years ago, the customer service team worked with us to do a little overhaul. of our process (as our business changed post-Covid). These small automations went a long way -- taking work off of our Legal team and clients.

Pros

We've been a client of SimpleLegal for about five years. They have been an excellent partner to collaborate with on an effective and efficient automated process for legal invoices. We worked hand in hand with SimpleLegal and all of our needs were met. The tool is so easy to use and the reporting is mission critical for our Legal and Finance teams.

Cons

There is nothing we don't like about SimpleLegal; we've always experienced excellent customer service, timely and valluable communications for their team and their stress on efficiency in incomparable.

Very good, I am not/was not part of the backend set up so can't speak to that piece. but it is easy for the approver to see the invoices, dates and that is what I most need

It allows for easy viewing of invoices and approval tracking process. The platform is easy to navigate

Reporting a bit confusing on how to just get the matter I want. I don't use it enough to make recommendations

No issues approving and receiving invoices. Notifications are auto generated reminders which I find helpful.

Pros

It's straightforward. It seems to do its job of funneling invoices to approve and rejecting those that don't meet our guidelines.

Cons

Looks like our internal folks have to create dashboards to decipher trends and data rather than being provided by simplelegal

It is a sophisticated system that helps record keeping and standardized billing practices. Helps to organize communication between various departments.

Pros

Stores invoices and makes approval process more streamlined. It allows communication to be recorded and easier to keep all invoices stored.

Cons

No resubmit button, for the law firm to correct instantly and correct. Sometimes creates confusion on which ones have been rejected.

We’ve been customers for about 8 years. We rely on SimpleLegal for business processes related to legal matters and invoices. We haven’t seen much product improvements in this time. Would have expected more as a software company and given AI developing around us.

Pros

Value for money. Invoice workflow for outside counsel. Relatively easy onboarding for law firms and internal users. Reliable system.

Cons

Customer service is not responsive. In the age of AI and technology changes, it’s surprising that SimpleLegal hasn’t moved faster. The only AI capability at present is bill review.

Couldn't be happier, especially compared with our previous systems. It was easy to learn and it's still easy to use.

Pros

Simple Legal has made our matter management easier and more intuitive. People can't complain that they can't figure it out because it's so easy!

Cons

Sometimes the integration with NetDocs doesn't work. I think that error is more on NetDocs side than Simple Legal but it's still frustrating.

I honestly don't know how our department's billing and matter management would function without this program.

Pros

The system is one of the easiest to use I've ever encountered, the functions offered are robust, and the reporting function is stellar. Also, the help desk is very responsive.

Cons

I wish when there was a vendor issue on the CounselGo side, like timekeeper updates or invoice uploads, I could access that part of the system to assist.

Overall experience has been good to great. Despite the difficulties with reporting, I appreciate that I can get one-on-one assistance quickly. Overall, support has responded quickly to any issues we've had, even on the CounselGo end.

Pros

Invoice processing is simple and flexible. Matter management is customizable and easy to use. I love that I can make administrative changes without having to reach out to SimpleLegal support.

Cons

Reporting is somewhat difficult, and the "New Legal Request" feature never quite worked for us, so we just gave up on that.

Overall good, it’s easy to use and does what I need it to but wish there was clearer routes for customer support.

Pros

It’s easy to use once you’re in the system and the UI is nice and easy to navigate through with a simple color scheme.

Cons

Logging in can be difficult, I had major issues the first few times and the customer support is not immediately helpful.

Easy user experience, but mostly the reporting which is the easiest reporting tool I've ever used. The ability to filter the standard reports is great but, the fact that attorneys can build their own reports is all the better
