Thus far I am very happy with the opportunity GivesGab and the Kentucky Nonprofit Network has given participants in the Kentucky Gives Day campaign to reach a larger group of donors. Hopefully, Shelter of Hope will benefit from increased donations so that we can continue our mission to help the homeless in the FIVCO area of Kentucky. Thanks to GiveGabs for their generous technology assistance to support the efforts of Kentucky's nonprofits! Pros Shelter of Hope, a nonprofit homeless shelter in Ashland, Kentucky is participating in our first Kentucky Gives Day campaign in 2019. The Gives Gab website was fairly easy to understand. The only difficulties I had were related to how quickly I could view updates to our campaign landing page. Once I contacted GiveGab customer service and a few bugs were worked out, everything worked great. Cons The website was slow to respond at times, with changes and updates I made to the landing page. Once I contacted GivesGab customer service, the issue was rectified and the landing page loaded quickly. GiveGab provides a platform to connect volunteers with nonprofits in the best fit for both the nonprofit and the volunteer. With the ability to customize volunteer opportunities, nonprofits are able to pop into the "feeds" of those volunteers who fit best with the organization. The ability to fundraise is also a plus. Cons The fact that the interface mimics a social media experience, it is ONE more login for both end-users. We use it about once every few months and it is always a great way of meeting new donors. Pros We've used GiveGab in partnership with some of our fundraising platforms. You can easily set up a page for your cause, share it, and receive direct deposit donations. It can help you get the word out for your organization or cause, especially with people who are looking to give to something good! Cons The features are not as optimized as donor management systems. Pros It takes the hassle out of excessive paperwork or other logistics when scheduling individuals for health fairs. Cons I sometimes forget my login information! This makes it difficult sometimes because there are limited opportunities to sign up for a volunteer opportunity so when I can't remember my login info, I may not be able to sign up because the opportunity is already full. This is the first year that our foundation is participating in the event and we are excited to see the results. We are working hard to build a nice page on the Give Gab website to encourage donors and we are spreading the word of our participation through our social media and email campaigns. Pros The software is easy to understand without having a lot of instruction. If you can use Microsoft Word, you can use Give Gab. The interface is user-friendly and simple. He made our first ever Giving Day a HUGE success. My Father ended up passing away days before our giving day and he went out of his way to make sure everything was taken care of and pretty much handled everything while I was attending to my Father and family. As I told \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] "I will only work with him for all of our future 209Gives!" Pros The software is very user-friendly and easy to learn. There are many features to make any giving day a very successful event. Because there are so mean features not all pages look the same and look different in their own way. Pros Nothing - I have been to the main site over 50 times and I've NEVER been able to figure out what we are supposed to do. I went to training and that didn't help - I learned a lot about fundraising but NOTHING about how to navigate this site and use this software. It's been a terrible experience. We have no choice but to use this and it's terrible. Cons I can't get an answer on anything. I'm sitting here for over 15 minutes at a time and no one is answering any questions. From the donor side things seemed pretty user intuitive, which is a plus. A good supplemental program, but for many med-large organizations, it would do everything you need. Pros Compared to some of the other, fuller featured softwares available, this one is relatively cheap. That's one of its main draws. It is also, again, comparatively, relatively modern in its ui. We tried it for a while while I was working at a youth homelessness organization. Where we were a bigger org that needed more from a program like this, it wasn't quite for us, but I could see how it would be very well suited to a smaller non profit. Cons Like I said in pros, it just doesn't stack up against something like Salesforce and the other industry heavy hitters. I think the biggest con for our use case was going in expecting it to. With the right expectations, this could suit you quite nicely. I like to think a big part of this is due to the functionality and aesthetic appeal that GiveGab provides. Thanks for all you do! Cons 1\. When exporting reports after our campaign/event, we weren't able to adjust or customize the time zone, so it took manual work on the back-end to change the times and dates for when each donation came in. 2. Pros Designed for nonprofits. Excellent platform for fundraising. Tracks donations, issues tax receipts, manage your volunteer hours, send out marketing messages and more, more, more. Plus it is visually impressive and very professional. Superb for big community/statewide giving days. Measure donations as they come in and show leaderboards for various organizations or programs.
