It allows me to keep track of attendance and grades and also provides a way to communicate with students and parents. Pros I have used Synergy for taking attendance and its gradebook for several years now. It is a pretty easy and user friendly. The attendance software allows you to customize seating charts for each class and even to create seating chart templates, which saves a lot of time. The gradebook allows to you to create assignments for multiple classes. You can create class-specific grades like 50%- Fs. You can also see class averages and total missing assignments, which is great. Cons I feel like the updated Synergy gradebook isn't as user-friendly as the older version, but it is still nice. It takes some getting used to. I no longer need to input grades into both programs to get grades out to parents. I also like that I can create different reports based on what I need. I like that I can also have a one stop shop for all required information about my students and their parents. Cons Finding information on Synergy can be difficult at times. As a teacher, that side is very convenient and easy to use. On the Administrative side it can be quite difficult to use from time to time. That is about it for the pros of this program. It is so bad I am writing this review to warn others! Cons It is glitchy, not user friendly, as a special ed teacher I have to use 2 different apps to see student schedules. I can't print from my iPad so I have to beg a secretary to print off schedules and transcripts for me. We have a home room between 2 & 3 hours and Synergy lists it as period 8 because they can't figure out how to get it listed between the two periods.
