Pros: Great option for companies who want to effectively manage their payroll services. After you get the hang of the system, a lot of great features!

Comments: Price effective solution overall. Have heard (but not personally experienced) that their service recently has taken a dip.

Pros: When I used Paycor this part of the solution was pretty easy to use and navigate. You are able to create different scales for how to measure success and task the proper people to give feedback for employees.

Cons: Sometimes it was repetitive to add competencies but from what I understand this has been updated recently.

Pros: Enrolling is benefits is easy but a very boring user interface. Some features can be left off but don't really use except for benefits.

Cons: Too many different modules. Hard to keep track of different pieces of information. reminders in the system are only for about 30 days.

Pros: I think enrolling in benefits is a breeze, but continuing to use the site can be a bore. Don't really use it for much else

Cons: Hard to find things, there should be more categories than "me, company, hr home" . Why can't we upload SPDs for each benefit? that's like a whole separate process to know what benefits I even have.

Comments: It would be nice if the modules were better integrated. Also, occasionally names of long-terminated employees show up on current date reports. For example on "assign performance reviews" list you get every employee ever on payroll, not just current employees. I don't need to evaluate someone who is terminated so it would be nice if there name was left off.

Pros: If there is a problem customer support is available for help. They payroll processing is quick and accurate.

Cons: We have several of their modules. There is a different contact for each - Payroll, Time, HR, ACA, Open Enrollment. And within each of these there is turnover so you may have several different contacts in an area in a year. It is hard to keep track of "who's on first."

Comments: We have an extremely complicated payroll system and Paycor has reduced our payroll processing time from two to three days to less then a single day. The system is doing much more then we initially hoped and so far very happy with going with Paycor.

Pros: Implementation was made easy and went smoothly, like the look and feel of the software, customer service is outstanding whenever there are issues, like how things flow in the system from HR to payroll seamlessly.

Cons: This system did cost the most of the other solutions we looked at but we felt the value was worth the increase in cost. They do have reminders built into the system but would have liked the reminder time frame to be longer then 30 days.

Pros: Easy to use, easy for employees, Great -the best customer service! Payroll time was cut in half
the on-boarding of new hires, PTO tracking, compensation, everything about it I liked
I like that you could add comments and the company would look into it and then at upgrade time if it was possible would add the capability.

Cons: The only thing I did not like was that when you did a benefits enrollment it did not notify you that the employee was finished or had completed their enrollment. However, I believe it might be something they were working on.

Overall: It made onboarding so much more efficient and easier for new hires.

Pros: This product is for the large businesses. It can handle a large volume and do it well. Has multiple trainings.

Cons: Not for the smaller businesses. It has features that small business don't always need. It is pricier than some of the other ones out there.

Pros: Great for small companies that only require payroll services. Great idea initiating HRIS platform but not really robust. Features are very limited.

Cons: Not on same platform, updates not thoroughly planned and executed. System errors are constant and IT can't resolve.

Pros: Comprehensive program with a lot of option to work with. We don't currently use them all, but is nice to know that there is room grow without having to learn a new system.

Cons: A little overwhelming at first as there are so many ways to get to different areas. I do wish there were more options to edit a payrun after it has been submitted.

They are withdrawing more than they should for fees and promise to correct but never do and now charging late fees because of their error. No one will call back. Can't reach by phone. They email and say problem corrected and it never is.

Pros: Price is good except they are withdrawing incorrect amounts and will not make the corrections and cannot speak with anyone.

Cons: The worst customer service ever. Unable to reach to get THEIR error on my account corrected. Have left multiple messages with no call back.

Comments: All I can say is keep up the good work.

Pros: I've been in my position processing payroll with Paycor for 5 1/2 years. It gets easier and simpler to use all the time. The continual improvement and upgrades, especially to Paycor Perform, never cease to impress me. Not to mention, knowledgeable help is always available when necessary. Setting up a new employee is a breeze. Entering our bi-weekly payroll is not all that time consuming. Running reports is an added bonus.

Cons: Can't think of a thing. I have nothing negative to say about Paycor Perform. I've seen a lot of change for the good.

Pros: Processing payroll is easy to manage, we navigate the system pretty well. There are times when we run into issues but we work through it. The Time piece has not been right from day. the benefits are a mess plan are wrong no carrier connect has been hard to complete. Everything requires spreadsheets after spreadsheets. The PTO and vacation in time is a mess. No tracking, We were told you could mirror our old system and that has not been delivered.

Cons: Support is very poor, there is never enough help available unless our support techs are free. Most times we are connected to support says we have to wait until our specialist are free to help. That can take hours.

Paycor's lack of service and customer service denied us the ability to operate properly, use the system correctly and cost us too much for the poor implementation and poor service and training for teams that serviced our account.

Comments: It is unfortunate this experience. I worked with Paycor in the past and prior to 2009 and this experience has taken me from liking the software and service to not recommending it to anyone I know that needs HR/Payroll software.

Pros: Based upon the experience, the pros are difficult to list. The experience was not positive to determine if the software was good or bad or if the lack of knowledge from the service was the main culprit for determining a good quality product and/or service.

Cons: Cons is that the system is very disconnected and not as flexible as we would like. Unfortunately during the implementation which I was not a part of was done extremely poorly. Parts of your team did not understand the system well which created many issues. The communication from service was terrible, no leadership to accomplish or understand the system and functions on the system.

It was an easy transition from our previous payroll company, and the customer support was excellent along the way.

Comments: My experience with the product has been good on and off. I do enjoy some features provided, but also wish more features were more developed.

Cons: I don't like how employees can not request time off without the use of PTO, even in the time keeping attendance. The performance entity is horrible. No customization capabilities, no budget settings and it has to be the same for every department across the board. HR and payroll do not do a great job talking with each other. I would also like to see more customization on the on-boarding or being able to post forms that are convertible into fillable forms.

Comments: This product has many features that are fantastic, but as a new user (less than a year), I am still surprised on a regular basis by what it cannot do. There are many basic features that are illogical. New Hire documents can be uploaded to a library and included in the New Hire Onboarding process. Fantastic! There is no way to control the order in which the New Hire reviews those documents. New Hires onboard using their personal email address because they don't have a work email yet. Later, during a Benefit Open Enrollment, notifications can't be directed to their work emails but goes to their personal email address. A New Hire becomes active as soon as they complete the onboarding process, not on their Hire date. We found that out by paying a New Hire early. The custom template of instructions for Benefit Onboarding can't be saved; it has to be entered every time an Event is created. We have also had great difficulty with support. Lots of "We're sorry" and "You were dropped through the cracks". We have also been told, more than once, that it is our responsibility to make sure something is working the way it should. As a new user, we can't know what we don't know! Paycor isn't ready for prime time with this.

Pros: Payroll, Benefits and HR are connected and changes in any field updates across the modules (assuming it has been set up correctly). Employees can update much of their personal and payroll information themselves, saving the Administrator time. Onboarding of a New Hire works very well and not having all that paperwork in a file is terrific. If you get support rep on the phone, they are fantastic to help.

Cons: Paycor frequently directs the user to their Knowledge Base, which is extensive. So extensive that it's nearly impossible to sort through it looking for an answer to the question at hand. The reporting feature is the same way. Hard to find what you need and tough to create what you need. Their support is less than impressive. Implementation was not well directed, mistakes were made by Paycor and by us due to lack of guidance from Paycor. Once active, support has been inconsistent. We are frequently surprised to find what should be a simple task is not even possible. Implementation of improvements is slow to appear. The parts that work well are impressive, but overall we have been less than pleased and very frustrated.

The best, easiest payroll processing available.

Overall: I just discovered that they've released a new way for me to manage assets and safety issues with my employees. This will make it so much easier than the paper forms I was previously completing and scanning and uploading as simply documents in an employee's file. Compared to our previous HR software, this is 100x better. It has everything I need.

Pros: The basic payroll software works fine. The problems arise when you try and use modules, such as the ability to transition data by a spreadsheet onto the Paycor platform.

Cons: The modules do not work as cleanly as represented.

Overall: We have raised several issues and had a number of questions over the past year that have not always been quickly addressed. In one case, after providing a certain guarantee that a function was turned "off" we discovered, almost too late, it was never switched off.

Recommendations to other buyers: Customer service appears to be lagging new product development.

Comments: I tested this software as a substitute of Paychex. Paycor provides integrations with 401(k) providers that ensure employees¿ deductions are properly sent to the provider. It streamlines the process and allows employers the opportunity to choose the provider that will give the best plan to their employees. They also empower employees and managers to maintain their personal and team information from anywhere with an internet connection. Each team member will have a login that will allow them to make their own elections creating an easier, paperless, open enrollment process

Pros: Paycor¿s Applicant Tracking Solution allows its users to post jobs, review resumes and approve or deny hiring within one application. Workflows send notifications to recruiters, hiring managers, and even candidates. It paints a picture of where every candidate is within the hiring process. It also provides analytics to help get rid of bottlenecks within each hiring step.

Cons: Paycor does not help manage HIPAA Compliance, Recruitment, and State Unemployment Insurance as a part of their human resource database. They also have a limited benefits packages when compared to their competitors. They only cover 401k and Medical Insurance while leaving off other vital plan options like Dependent Audit, FSA, HRA, Life Insurance, Premium Only Plan, SIMPLE IRA¿ etc.

Comments: We have been using Paycor for about a year now. The ease of use is okay, but the product needs streamlining. All functional areas have limitations and feature enhancements are slow in coming.

Pros: NEWTON (applicant tracking) rocks! Newton is definitely the best feature of Paycor by far! Newton is an extremely state of the art product and feature enhancements happen constantly to keep up with the demands of hiring.

Cons: No geo fencing No workforce scheduling Time and attendance is very manual, often times quirky and labor intensive but not all bad once all the data entry is done! PTO is shown in different ways in different areas of the product, needs to be more consistent as it gets confusing seeing different PTO amounts. Supervisors don't get consistent PTO notifications via email Need to enter same info in multiple areas which gets tedious and time consuming. Reporting is doable, but clunky as is FMLA tracking Implementation was driven on a schedule basis vs the implementers understanding the needs of the business Limitations are acknowledged by product reps, but feature enhancements are slow to happen. Reps don't "own" their customers, they are very transactional so building a relationship is hard.

Recommendations to other buyers: Paycor is a solid basic product for smaller companies, but needs streamlining and product/feature changes need to happen faster like they do on the Newton side. Newton is definitely worth your while!

Cons: So far I have not found any issues or concerns with the software.

Comments: We are very frustrated with Perform Time. I feel like the support we received for something was forced upon was terrible. I asked two weeks ago to speak to a manager regarding my experience and was told it is a busy time of the year and they would get back to me. We have had some glimmers of hope when we are lucky enough to talk with someone other than our client service rep. He tries but he doesn't get it. This system is supposed to be new and improved and we can't do some of the basic things we could do before. I am very disappointed on how this was rolled out and the support.

Comments: We had a rough start with Paycor, a lot of things did not work out as expected and we ran into a few issues, but once we got worked through them, things have been better and smooth.

Pros: Easy to use

Cons: Lots of glitches, we receive delinquent notices from state for our employer taxes regularly.

Comments: Once again, Sound Engineering is an union company, and I believed that Paycor could in fact help me with my problems I was having at my previous third party payroll company. Paycor is a step up from my previous payroll company, but again I am having problems with some of the functions because I am a union company with multiple unions/multiple payrates//multiple functions that Paycor can't seem to solve. Also, I have a contact/representative from Paycor that basically can't get back to me on a problem with the calculation of a union, and I have emailed her multiple times. So, really, if I can't get help, and I have to constantly go into my payroll system and manually change a union employee's payroll, what would you do?

Comments: Realizing Paycor has experienced growth, internal training must be very difficult but a busy end user does not want to be directed to a 'help' guide to sort thru. For new users those serve a purpose then they can be burned. Passing the buck between different silos is so very frustrating between time and attendance /HR / the payroll function etc is awful. Then to offer one last hope from our end, and it comes back to training, we have already hung up and called back in the hopes to get someone different to help us. Sorry!

Comments: -It would be helpful if the time cards can total per week. I spend a lot of time using a calculator to find out total number of hours per week.
- I like that HR department can load documents to be able to be viewed.
- if in the future you can have a search option to aid in finding documents within paycor that would be helpful. Or have a glossary of drop down menus. I can't remember what I was trying to find a few times and wasn't able to find it easily.
- I have never used customer support so couldn't rate that category. I also don't know how much the program costs so couldn't rate that either.

Comments: I have had a couple reps that have had decent customer service but have had more negative experiences during my time with Paycor. The communication is very poor, we are the customer and feel as though I am more of a burden. We were never trained properly from the very beginning so sometimes we don't know what we don't know. We have gone through several reps and we are told on the day of or day before that they are transitioning in to another position or are leaving. then get assigned a new person. Again, poor communication. We have requested a change in reps when one of our reps thought they put us on hold and didn't, heard an entire conversation of our rep bad mouthing us to another rep or , how we were a pain, didn't like dealing with us, etc.

Comments: Once you figure out how to navigate the site and find what you need, it is easy to use. Not the most intuitive at first, when looking for particular functions.

Comments: I use paycor because I am want to make sure that we are up to date on all pay roll items. I do not have time to learn all the ins and outs of how to make the system work. When I have an issue I would very much like the person to "just do it" instead of giving me pages of instructions. Most of the time it would take that person seconds to do it because they already know how to do it. It takes me forever because I have to learn the system.

Comments: Our company is small but Paycor made it very easy by taking care of all of the taxes and helping customize the program for our specific needs. We give bonuses and commissions every few months, so its nice to just click on those and the rest is done!
