" March 4, 2026 5.0 Im ensured I don’t miss expenses for clients and also deductions in my QuickBooks account. I can take a picture of a receipt or forward it from an email. Pros I absolutely love Dext. I’m a solo entrepreneur that gets busy and it’s easy to get unorganized with receipts. This program allows me to not only upload receipts and have its vendor, cost and account extracted then published to my QuickBooks account. You can also add that it’s billable to a client in QuickBooks and holds the photos so you don’t have to keep paper receipts. Cons This program is solid. The price isn’t the worst either. Pros Dext helps me with all my daily bookkeeping needs. It integrates into the appropriate softwares I use perfectly Cons Honestly I don’t dislike anything about Dext. I use Dext prepare and the only thing it could build in is that it could assume categories better upon the first step of integration with the accounting softwares chart of accounts. While the software served it's purpose for many years I no longer have use for it. They have made it impossible to cancel the service and have just charged my credit card again. Totally shameful. The chat keeps telling me someone will be in touch but no one is. I will no longer be recommending it to clients. Cons Customer Service was basically non-existent. Would definitely recommend it and we always try get new clients set up on Dext. Saves having to be given folders of receipts when they can take photos on the go or at home Pros So easy to use as a bookkeeper and also for the client. The app is clear as well and easy to upload any receipts/invoices. It's more sophisticated than Hubdoc and better than Xero expenses as you can clearly allocate costs to people in and expense claim, without them staying in one big list. The AI and rule setup for suppliers is very clever too Cons The only thing is its duplication spotting. Most of the time it's great. But if I automatically receive an invoice via email and upload it and then a staff member also uploads it as they have paid for it it doesn't make it clear who submitted the other one. So I've found a couple times that I have it down as a company expense but having to double check that it's been paid for by someone else. The platform allows me to easily take photographs of invoices, receipts and import email documents. I specifically like the integrations with platforms such as Xero, which allows a smooth and streamlined bookkeeping process. Using Dext significantly reduces manual effort as it captures all of the key information needed to complete financial tasks. The multi-client dashboard is especially beneficial as it ensures that I have all my clients in one place and can effortlessly switch between them and publish their receipts and invoices through to the accounting software. Overall, Dext performs extremely well at what its designed to do, it takes away a lot of the repetitive, time-consuming parts of bookkeeping and helps us stay organized. When I started, we had multiple individual accounts set up instead of a single account housing each client entity, so once we took that consolidation step, everything fell into place & the workflow started to churn without incident. Few to no issues with receiving documents from outside the org, the OCR is fairly capable, and the platform learns quickly & suggests supplier rules to set for item types with regular throughput. Pros It works exactly as advertised & is user-friendly enough that setup is simple & intuitive. There is a wide array of features on this platform, but everything is labeled & explained well, so while there is introductory training & ongoing self-support material, you often don't need it once you get going because the platform largely guides you toward whatever it is you want to do (which makes training new staff fairly easy). Cons The integrations can occasionally be a bit wonky--less so the accounting software integrations than vendors & bank accounts. I've had a few issues with bank accounts coming regularly decoupled, or with vendor accounts not connecting despite the credentials being validated. The lists for each integration option are also limited, so if you're using a smaller community bank or an industry-specific vendor, you may just be out of luck. Review Source ML Morna L. It’s so good that we were offered another provider as part of an existing subscription but I don’t want to change. I’d rather pay Dext and keep using it. Pros This software is amazing. We are a wholesaler with loads of monthly invoices from suppliers and out to customers. Dext strips all the information out in seconds, is so accurate and then can get seamlessly transferred to Sage. Considering the time this software saves us, the price is brilliant too. I already recommend this software to anyone I think would benefit. Cons No downsides. Accountant Accounting Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Dext Customer Service" August 2, 2022 4.0 My overall experience with dext was horrible, customer service was nonexistent, there is no phone number to call a person and when I canceled my monthly subscription well before the 15-day cancelation period, I was still charged for the next month. I received no response from my customer manager who was on holiday and was told I had to meet with the manager before I could cancel. This made no sense to me. Canceling my monthly subscription was one of the most stressful, time-consuming things I have done regarding an app, I do not recommend this app. Pros What I liked most about this software was it was able to import receipts Cons What I liked least about this software were the customer service and the price. Review Source rS ron S. president Wholesale Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great Product Terrible Service " March 18, 2021 3.0 Pros Its easy to use for the most part. as usual with most software support is non existent so if you are not a technical person it might not be for you- like most online products online their FAQ section will not answer any question you have. also they really do not want you to contact support so its difficult Its a great idea and works with QuickBooks once you can figure out how to set it up. its not intuitive at all Cons while difficult to figure out with zero installation support it is a great idea and on its basis and awesome product- its price compared to others, but probably worth it. that being said if you have a problem with it- you are out of luck- you can try and contact support but that's a joke. they of course want an email. ive had a problem with their fetch service, which is another great idea- it will give you an error saying you are using the wrong credentials even though you can sign on the site with no problem using the same credentials. what you will get back will be endless emails with can responses using the very faq pages which are useless. they do not even log your complaint so each time their solution doesn't work you have to re explain again. even if you send the prior email in the body. they are clearly not equipped to support issues with their own software I will tell you its a nice product and if you are technical and can figure out how to set it up you will be good. but if there is an issue with a feature forget it Review Source AC Allie C. Paperwork can be really daunting especially at the end of the month when you have to account for all the business transactions and present accounting and financial report on time. This software basically saves you the trouble by making things simpler and saving you a great deal of time. Pros All you have to do is take a photo of receipts and bills, make use of the drag and drop feature and get them into an accounting system for easy and quick reference. It saves you a good deal of time in accounting. With the OCR feature, you can easily get both the debit and credit card identified when receipts submitted show they have been used for payment. Moreover, you can find out the exact bank account for the debit/credit card used to ensure there's no error when making payment or tracking transactions. Receipt Bank simplifies bookkeeping in that you can be out and about and still be able to get things into the system without any constraint. This is actually possible thanks to the mobile app that lets you work as normal even when you are on the go. User-friendly and easy-to-navigate interface. The dashboard also simplifies bookkeeping and lets you gauge or track your customer's activity level from time to time. It captures accurate info. Just snap a photo and relax.
