Then you can categorize your expense from the software. Cons Sometimes it doesn't autopopulate the amount and taxes properly like some other software like Receipt Bank. Pros I use this daily. Ease of use is key here to minimise any further hassle from bookkeeping. RB is super easy to use, very quick to upload documents via the app or the desktop. Cons Possibly the rate of machine learning. I have used RB for the same customers sales invoices for over two years now, and the same mistakes are frequently made by RB's extraction. These are daily mistakes, possibly every other day. Customer Name is a very common one. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Owner Accounting Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Very Difficult To Cancel Your Subscription" August 11, 2023 1.0 Pros Unfortunately, my experience with canceling my Dext subscription has over shadowed any good feelings that I had about this company and program. The owner of the subscription should have full control of canceling the membership. Cons Canceling your subscription with Dext is nearly impossible. You can't cancel from your own account login. You have to reach out to your account manager and make an appointment. Appointment times are 3 weeks out. Once you do talk to them, you discover that there is a 30 day notice policy to cancel which is also not posted on your account. There are not pro-rated refunds of subscription fees. In my opinion this is very unprofessional on their part. I should have a way to cancel my subscription from my end. Review Source JF Jack F. We manually review, make any adjustments and then export and upload to 2 x different systems. Saves so much time Pros The software automatically reads invoices and extracts the key data to be imported into your accounting or ERP system. Easy way to capture receipts when out and about by taking a photo and using the mobile app to submit it or alternatively for email receipts and invoices I can forward it to a special email address to do the same. Cons The invoice fetch feature by automatically logging into certain services, shops etc to get invoices and add them as expenses for you is very hit and miss, especially when some of the sites or services I use 2FA auth codes and it never really works with them. It integrates perfectly with my accounting software and makes paperwork much less stressful Pros Using the app, I can easily add invoices to Dext and then edit them before publishing into my payroll software. I scan receipts with the iOS Dropbox app and place them in a shared folder. The next day my receipts have been data-mined, and are ready for me to double check before pushing them to my FreeAgent account. This process shaves hours off my monthly bookkeeping. Pros NONE - Receipt Bank allowed fraudulent fishing invoices to be included as verified invoices on my account. Cons ReceiptBank allowed fraudulent invoices to be sent to my inbox and refused to acknowledge this as a security breach. There solution was for our company to change our e-mails. The source of the invoice which appeared in my payment list was a fishing scam. ReceiptBank refused to make any security improvements on the platform. Avoid this platform at all costs as it is not secure and the company don't care. August 2, 2018 5.0 Accountability and record keeping is greatly improved! Pros My company started using this to keep us in compliance - and keep our accountant happy. IT IS AWESOME! There are so many ways to upload receipts - it makes this extra step in our work day so much easier. You can scan and upload the receipt via their website. You can send it to a personalized email address to upload the receipt, you can use their app... it is fantastic. And our accountant is super happy with the results! Cons I can honestly say there isn't anything bad about this program. It stinks we have to take the extra time to be more diligent about our receipts, but the program really helps ease that hassle. Supplier rules and giving employees their own logins to do expense reports makes it so easy to implement and get running. CEO Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Finally accounts are paperless " April 30, 2018 5.0 Pros This app saves so much time and messing about with recipes and invoices when you are doing accounts. It is very easy to use with the iPhone app, online and via email. Whenever I buy something I can just take a photo of the receipt in the app upload it and forget about it. I can also email receipts for online purchases directly to my receipt bank account. The system then picks out all the information and passes to my accounts software (Xero) I don't have to worry about loosing receipts or searching for emailed invoices. It saves me loads of time and avoid boxes of receipts at the end of the year. Cons I don't really have any downsides to this product does what it says on the tin easy to use and reliable. No more power invoices and receipts and the best thing is it can be done from anywhere! Pros We moved to Dext Prepare from a manual System of printing invoices and submitting them. Now with Dext, everything is done online and it’s easier for accounting and employees alike. Cons For employees, some of the features are confusing. There are submit buttons and archive buttons that make it look like you should push them but really you don’t need to and it messes up the accountant if you do. As long as everyone knows this, it isn’t an issue but education is key. May 30, 2018 1.0 Pros Great idea, if it worked (would be really quick and easy to use), and if it had decent customer service (so when things go wrong they are easy to sort out), but it doesn't and they don't. Cons Can't upload receipts separately. I have 2 taxi receipts for the same day for the same amount (as I rounded them both up) despite the receipts looking completely different (one with about 2 lines of writing, the other with 6) Receipt Bank keep combining the receipts into one, and then deleting new versions when I try to upload them separately. Apparently, it isn't an issue with the product because they match, supplier, date and amount but bear in mind they choose the supplier and set them both ton Taxi (whereas I would have been more specific). They send me a link to sort it out, but the link went nowhere and ended in Oops, you've taken a wrong turn. Now they have stopped replying. Poor product and poor customer service. This has made it easier for the client to submit paperwork, though there is still definitely some chasing! Overall, a good product. Pros This software has streamlined the ways clients supply paperwork to my practice. Clients are generally happy with using it and it is very intuitive. Cons The pricing structure doesn't differentiate between different sizes of practice except for single users so the savings scale massively for larger companies. Clients can be confused about submitting multiple invoices by email. Doesn't split across classes/departments in basic product Review Source MS Mark S. Cons The system can often be a bit temperamental and extract the incorrect information from the source document. The software also has OCR, which scans each receipt and picks up which vendor the purchase was made from - allowing the user to make edits afterward but not have to input a ton of information in the beginning. Cons I wish there was a way to bypass the scanning feature. Receipts will sometimes process for over 5 hours, and if I'm working on an expense report I'd like to be able to type in the information myself if it'll go faster. Review Source BH Brooke H.
