Pros We like the scheduling and estimating components of the program the best. We can have all our resources in one place and easily communicate Schedules, Change orders and Proposals to Owners, Subcontractors and Suppliers. Cons I would like to see the Lead tracking be more like a CRM where you could email your contacts and schedule automated follow-ups. Foreman Project Manager Construction Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "UDA Project Management and Estimating " February 6, 2024 4.0 Pros We are able to upload all of the project docs and mark up in one place in stead of searching emails and other submittals. When a template is complete and we are comfortable using it, estimating becomes much easier than spreadsheets. We can track projects in real time when the field is remembering to upload items as they’re being completed. Cons When we upload plans it creates individual pages for a project, I wish the full drawling sets were more easily accessible. Review Source JC James C. There are a couple things I hope they will change but the ease-of-use once you get up to speed is wonderful. I have found the customer service to be the best I have ever received. Pros It is packed with every tool I will ever need to manage my construction company. Also, the customer support is top notch. Cons I found migrating my projects and linking them to clients from Construction Suite was very time consuming. The calendar only migrated over two weeks from the whole year. We used the software application for years and about four years ago switched over to the online version. Pros Ease of use Extensive functionality Client interface And last but not least, I can't say enough good things about the technical support team - they respond very quickly and are extremely knowledgeable. Cons Wasn't easy to import our initial estimate templates into the system and required assistance from technical support. Since day one it has been so easy to update daily reports, upload photos, go back to the plans for reference. Overall, ConstructionOnline is an amazing platform and has it all we need to keep the job moving forward. Pros The ease to navigate the website and the use of the app for the mobile. The messaging portal makes it easy to organize your conversations and allow all team members to stay in the loop. The estimation, client selections, change orders, and invoicing features work great and make it easy to integrate with Quickbooks. Cons The feature we use the least and feel could be improved is the time tracking feature. We have attempted to use it in the past, but find Quickbooks Time to be easier and more user friendly, especially when it comes to integrating for payroll. The opportunities feature is also fantastic, but we do wish the opportunities could be accessed in the mobile app and synced to Quickbooks. We have some opportunities that might not become a project, but require invoicing for time spent on designs, etc. This is not possible in the opportunities section at the moment and we end up having to copy the estimate information into Quickbooks manually. Pros The program is very robust and allows us to use parts that fit our businesses well. It is critical to stay in good communications with everyone on the project team, CO makes that easy! Pros It contains in one place all the necessary tools to manage a project, from the conception of said project with the creation of estimates to daily monitoring with photos and reports. Every detail of project tracking is clearly integrated and user-friendly. It also helps keep the client up to date and has all documentation, communication and evidence in one easily accessible place. Pros I have been working on using the client selections portion and customer service chat has been amazing! They have helped me with the most basic things and given me resources to continue learning about the program. I'm new to the program and this field, it's been instrumental having someone to quickly ask random questions to. Cons I'd like greater customization in the excel exporting, we'd like to have spec sheets be populated as well, the client doesn't necessarily need this information, but it's instrumental in handing off projects from design to build department. Cons The budgeting and project cost are a bit hard to input and keep track of. Pros the estimating is by far the best. The existing template keeps me from overlooking an item. The ability to list every piece of lumber needed for estimate puts Construction Online above most other estimating programs. The ability to choose percent of cost or margin is a great benefit. Cons When entering the name of an item it would help if when it is clicked it would go directly to the description tab next instead of going directly to the quantity tab. Review Source JM John M. I have much more to learn and will certainly do another training when I have time. The support/training is excellent which makes a huge difference for someone like me who is in the field and certainly not a tech wiz. Pros This is my first time with a project tracking software. The company that hired me had instituted it so I had to dive in. The daily log feature is great for me as I am a project superintendent and need to track progress for all parties involved. The ability to share files, notes and photos with third parties is great as we can limit their access and share what is relevant. Cons There are a lot of levels to CO so it might be daunting at first. I suggest moving slowly and using the most critical features to your role first. I also suggest getting one on one training. Pros Many features aid in the management of projects Cons There are several options or features that could help us but they are additional costs and we are already paying a lot for C.O. and we can't justify the additional cost. Quickbooks integration is fair but causes some reporting issues that make job costing difficult. Pros Contains the features that are critical to a General Contractor. From Estimating to Subcontractors to Billing. The integration with QuickBooks is fantastic. Great Support. Cons The Integration with our accounting system is critical, but could be improved: 1. Beyond the Batch integration - should remove the obstacles - should be able to run during off hours so both system are synchronized. 2. The data from ConstructionOnline should have a transaction date not the date the data was integrated.
