I have been utilizing the product for 3 years now and still love what I do! Pros I love the simplicity and efficiency! It makes reporting and budgeting easier for my clients. Also, ad hoc reporting is an easy way for clients to view their data. Cons I would say that my least favorite part of Solver is the occasional outages for the integrations/jobs. Pros You can create any report and forms that you would like in Solver so it is powerful and flexible. In addition, you can also create modules that are not GL specific to keep track and store data. Cons The Solver Planning is complicated and not easy to learn and understand. It requires a lot of time to learn on how to create a form from end user perspective. I usually prefer our Solver consultant to create or modify forms for me. Switched from [Workday Adaptive Planning](https://www.capterra.com/p/130072/Adaptive-Insights/) The platform is not flexible. Once the financial statements we created were finalized, it was easy to run them monthly and save a lot of time producing our monthly financial statements. Cons If you have intercompany transactions, the "live" database isn't able to report more than one company at a time. This means you have to use the static database, which they recommended we only update once per day. On a tight close, sometimes you catch and make changes the same day as you're producing financials and this can be cumbersome. This was extremely unclear to us before we bought this software. Additionally, I am an ADVANCED Excel user. I am the company's go-to for Excel questions. So imagine my surprise when I struggled helplessly for hours trying to figure out the Excel version of the tool! It is by no means intuitive. We actually had to pay to bring in a consultant to train us on how to use it because the company's 3 divisional controllers (myself included) couldn't create a financial statement despite reading on Solver's website and watching tutorials. They succeed by making you successful in your FP&A function. Pros Ability to customize reports and the new AI features. They have a new AI upgrade called Copilot 2 that should make FP&A much easier. Cons Past bugs that have been resolved for several years now. Solver migrated to the cloud several years back and has a much improved product since. I am very much looking forward to applying the non-financial reporting aspects to my organization. Pros Bringing information together to make it more clear and actionable. The learning curve has been steep (for me), but at the same time all the pieces come together well. Cons I am still discerning how much of any issue I have is user error or something else. If you can imagine it you can build it. Cons The possibilities are endless, similar to excel. It can be overwhelming at first but there are so many resources, it becomes a very powerful tool. Pros Solver is an excellent reporting tool for businesses with multiple entities, offering a comprehensive view of the consolidated business and drill-down capabilities to investigate variances. Cons Smaller Canadian presence making it harder to find out about new features and updates. Solver Ascend conference was helpful for this. Another likeable thing about this is it provides you real time data whenever you need to check status of a certain transaction. Cons This is a bit pricey so this will only suits big companies. It has a multitude of uses. It is user-friendly and its capabilities are virtually limitless. Cons Reports sometimes get stalled and take longer than usual to run, but that does not happen often. I found it easy to use once everything was setup. The initial setup was a little cumbersome, but this was a large project (27 stories, $65M multifamily). The software was great for creating issues that could be assigned to specific subs. I also used it for punch lists and found it to be very intuitive.
