For this reason, it's perfect for new podcasters because the platform allows you to post your podcast without any hassle at all, and then helps to get it more publicity and posted to hosts like iTunes. It's also got a great design look to it, including the embedded player. It doesn't look too dated or like it was designed by programmers. And you can try it for free to see if it's worth paying a monthly subscription fee. The fee is reasonable and in the same market as other podcast hosting sites. Cons Keeping things simple means that Buzzsprout doesn't have all of the features that other podcast publishing sites might have. But when you're first getting started, I think the simplicity works in its favor, so this isn't a huge deal breaker. If you're running a hugely successful podcast, you might need more features, though, so you might eventually age out of Buzzsprout. Unfortunately, I didn't get to use it a lot because our project didn't go through, but from what I did use, it was easy and straightforward to use. I don't have any advanced needs yet, so I can't really comment on those, but it's great if you're just starting out. Cons To be honest, I can't say much as I didn't get to see the bad parts. Maybe the free limit could be slightly increased because 2 hours only covers about 2 episodes, if you're doing a 45 minutes podcast weekly. Review Source JB Jonathan B. I use it weekely for our sermon podcasts, and have for years. Works well with our website and church app. Pros I've never seen it down. Works well with many podcast sites, importantly iTunes. Easy to manage and upload one time to broadcast everywhere. Cons Sometimes I'm just a few minutes over the plan I have and wish I could have some roll over time or something. None had the ease of use with a quality feel that their system has. It is simple and yet gives my product a professional look. The real witness to my satisfaction is that I've used the service now for a couple of years without even considering changing. I can focus on my podcasts and not worry about the system itself. It is a good pricing model and when you have questions, the emails usually come back within 24 hours. And, often, the techs have gone out of their way to help resolve issues, not that there have been many at all. The only thing about features is I am loving their new Facebook Snippet Tool, I just would like 60 secs instead of 30, but they know that :-) Pros Good set up instructions. Just seems to work. Cons I sit between the free service and the pay service, so some months I need to pay and others I don't. I end up paying each month, but I'd love it if hours not used one month would credit the next month. That would make it free for me as on average I use few enough hours to fit into the free category.... It might not make business sense though. The sound quality is terrific, customer service is quick and extremely helpful, and I like that features continue to be added. My only suggestion is to put the release date field a little closer to the top of the form for uploading an episode. If your file is small it's too easy for it to upload before you have a chance to set the date, which can cause an episode to be released before you want it to on some services. Other than that - and even with that - we are still extremely satisfied. Pros Ease of use. Layout. Features. The only thing I'd consider is maybe bundle pricing for people doing multiple podcasts, (like $30/mo for up 4 podcasts at Pros ease of use and stats Cons I would like there to be packages for those who want to host multiple podcasts, ($30 for 4 podcasts at 3 hours/mo) I have 6+ plus podcasts 3 of them I host with buzzsprout and the other 3 I use wordpress + Seriously Simple Podcasting using hosting from bluehost. I'd love to be able to have all my podcasts on buzzsprout but $12/mo adds up after a couple of shows. Used the software for: ### "The podcast host that will melt your face off" February 1, 2017 5.0 Incredibly easy to upload audio. Visual presentation to listeners is continually improving. The ability to create an 'app' button is a nice feature, but you'd have to have some hardcore, dedicated fans to want that rather than just a bookmark on their browser. The analytics are great although they may not be detailed enough for super-serious users. For shorter or less serious productions, the free tier is a nice option. Finally, the new Facebook audio post feature is a great idea that I'm sure will continue to improve. Some early concerns are pixel/sharpness problems with the title, and the fact that the custom titles only display if the viewer opens the presentation in a new window. But, it is quick and easy for anyone needing to produce several without too much time or effort. Personally, I'd rather create a mini movie where I'm not bound by the 30 second limit and I can add a photo montage if I like. However, this takes a little more time and effort, and some familiarity with audio/video programs. Overall, I'm very pleased with this service. I'm a 'maximizer,' so I researched probably too much when it came to choosing a host. Of course, there's no better way to see if you like it than to give it a try. Review Source HJ Henry J. I looked at several options and prices, Buzzsprout came on top. I am able to edit, upload, and promote my podcast in less than 10 minutes. In clearly labeled directions. I have never had a problem so have not needed to contact customer support. The feedback we have received has confirmed that our podcasts are heard all over the world. Thank you, Buzzsprout! The Support Staff was easy to work with and fast. The software has been a breeze from day one, making it very easy to upload our MP3 files to their server and for them to connect it with our website. The statistics are very valuable to analyzing our listen-rates. Cons There are times when the software seems to hang, I'm waiting for it to complete a task, but it's not telling me that it's still running or working. I'm not an engineer but I have learned how to podcast using this software. Their tutorials were also very helpful. The price is hard to beat. Cons When I cut and paste into my website, the podcast bar does not always show up so I have to include a link to get to the podcast. That adds one more step for my listeners. I was having an issue with the player displaying on my website and I wrote into their team. The agent who helped me went above and beyond. The issue was with my set up, not their player, but she was able to tell me how to fix it. She sent me screenshots from my website hosts help center, saving me the time of having to look it up myself. Amazing! Pros It's super easy to use. They make everything clear and concise.... I love that their free version isn't a "joke", it's a fair deal that allows you to fully test out the features and get started. I was more than happy to upgrade to the paid version when the time came. The analytics are great to help give insight into how it's doing. Cons Overall, I really do love it.
