### "Corporate Outlook users - don't give them any money"

September 29, 2025

1.0

Terrible. I bought a life time subscription of MB after testing it out. When I started using it day to day, I quickly noticed the serious bugs mentioned above. I opened cases within 2 weeks of purchase - spent a lot of time collecting information and running testing scenarios to help them pin point the problem. I tried to be nice and give MB time to fix the issues, even though I told them they were urgent. I gave them 3 months to fix them. After no fixes were delivered, I asked for my money back, with a clear audit trail of why (with all the tickets I had opened). Supports response: It's been too long since you purchased it - sorry. Wow! I was trying to be a good citizen!

Pros

Handles multiple email accounts and calendars. I manage 4 of email addresses and calendars and I have to avoid conflicts.

Cons

For corporate users coming over from Outlook, there are some show stopping bugs. For example, if someone schedules a meeting from an O365 account, then cancels it, the cancellation is not processed correctly and MB leaves the invite intact. If an O365 user schedules a meeting with you as "optional", MB does not process it and it never comes through as an invite - just an ordinary message. There is no integration with Teams, so you can't schedule a meeting from MB and put a Teams meeting link in, like you can with Outlook or em Client. This is just the short list - there are others.

### "A great alternative to MS Exchange/Outlook."

November 6, 2024

5.0

Great user experience, functions are implemented in a nice way. I do not have to search around to find what I wanted to do.

Pros

Very good user Interface with intuitive functions. No problems during use, frequent updates to remove smallish issues (that never relate to any major function). Mailbird especially great if you use several e-mail addresses.

Cons

A bit on the expensive side according to my flavour (it is just e-mails), but this seems to be normal for mail programs. So rather an issue of the industry than the software provider.

### "It just works!"

July 31, 2021

5.0

I have many different inboxes that I have to keep track of. Having to switch accounts to check everything at least a few times a day was very time-consuming. Since switching to MailBird I get all my accounts synced to a unified inbox and notified whenever I receive an email. That makes it much easier to stay on top of my work and keep track of everything with minimal effort which could easily save a lot of time.

Pros

The best thing about MailBird is that everything works. I have been using it for many years and it has been very reliable with no problems at all. Everything you should expect from your mail client is there with a few extra features as well but most importantly I have not encountered a single issue since I started using MailBird.

Cons

It might look a little bit basic and does not compare with all the fancy web-like interfaces that most newer software has. But don't let it fool you, there are a lot of great features that make MailBird a powerful tool, and most importantly what it does, it does well.

Switched from

[Gmail](https://www.capterra.com/p/202338/Gmail/)

To get a unified inbox instead of checking many accounts on a regular basis. The reason I chose MailBird instead of syncing my Gmail accounts was to ensure I can keep everything separated when needed and still have the ability to choose a unified inbox.

### "Lifetime Licence, lasted less than 10 months"

March 9, 2024

1.0

Shocking, bad, not good, got ripped off big time, help non existent

Pros

Easy to read and set up, able to display emails in the order that is best suited to you.

Cons

Search function totally useless, settings function useless, unable to transfer any of the email data away from mailbird, you have to pay for a third party app to fulfill this when you want to leave. Getting hold of anyone for help on anything impossible, unless you wish to purchase, they are very quick to jump on that one.

Reason for choosing Mailbird

Sounded like it was the best, I was 100% wrong

### "Great email client"

May 27, 2019

Very positive. I've received good customer service and the price is very reasonable given that it's a one-off payment.

### "Fast, attractive email client "

May 27, 2019

4.0

Pros

It is fast, it loads fast. Very attractive interface. Very easy to use, all in one Inbox. I love the integration with Whatsapp, Wunderlist, gCalendar, gKeep and many more.

Cons

I miss some right-click menu options and tabs. I have accounts with lots of folder and I have to scroll to check them. If I could use tabs, they will show if any emails is in folder. I would like for external links such as in Twitter, Whatsapp to be opened in my default browser rather than in the built-in. You can play Twitter video inside Mailbird.

### "Greedy. Scammy"

April 30, 2025

1.0

I've been a lifelong user of Mailbird and honestly have loved the experience. But their greed and tone deaf nature is getting on my nerves! I purchased Mailbird 2.0 lifetime version which they clearly said would qualify me for any future update, without any additional riders mentioned such as it would only But now I realise to use the full version of Mailbird 3.0 I need to pay again! They are sneakily using the argument that the lifetime updates were only valid for Mailbird 2.x. I mean how crafty do you need to get! To the founders reading this review - this is not how you become a successful tech company! You become that winning the trust and sympathy of your loyal users!

Pros

It's a decent mail client. I can add multiple accounts at once.

Cons

Shady. Greedy. Using dark patterns. Cannot upgrade to Mailbird 3.0 without paying extra.

### "My use of Mailbird"

March 21, 2024

4.0

I have had good luck with this email provider other than a couple of times. It wasn't able to download an update. Now, I'm not able to receive my mail and not getting any response from trouble shooting people. I just wish you had someone to call for assistance when having a problem.

Pros

I like all the storage files this email has. Also the ease of use for us non-geek's. Overall, it has been pretty much maintenance free.

Cons

Sometimes it is slow bringing in my email and I have to click on the inbox to make it load the mail.

Reason for choosing Mailbird

I must have been having problems with my other provider and liked the sound of Mailbird and what it had to offer with their life time pay selection.

### "Not a Mailbird Lifetime Deal - Be Aware! "

November 6, 2023

1.0

In conclusion, although I appreciate the improvements in Mailbird 3, the unanticipated additional cost has left me feeling disappointed and disillusioned with the brand. I hope Mailbird addresses this issue and considers its loyal customers who invested in the previous lifetime deal.

Pros

As a user of Mailbird 2, I was genuinely excited when I purchased the lifetime deal. The promise of a one-time payment for continuous access to their excellent app was a deal I couldn't pass up. Mailbird 2 has been my reliable companion, streamlining my email management with its intuitive interface and robust features. However, my enthusiasm has been dampened by the latest development. The introduction of Mailbird 3, undeniably a more advanced and promising version, has come with an unexpected twist. The lifetime deal that I had happily invested in for Mailbird 2 no longer applies to this new upgrade.

Cons

Having to pay again for Mailbird 3 feels like a betrayal of the trust I put in the "lifetime" deal for Mailbird 2. The term "lifetime" implies a long-term commitment, which I assumed would include subsequent versions of the software. However, it appears this is not the case. While I understand that the development and maintenance of new software require resources and hence, costs, it's disappointing to face another payment request after purchasing what was marketed as a lifetime deal. In conclusion, although I appreciate the improvements in Mailbird 3, the unanticipated additional cost has left me feeling disappointed and disillusioned with the brand. I hope Mailbird addresses this issue and considers its loyal customers who invested in the previous lifetime deal.

### "Love the Software - but they do collect your addresses."

June 7, 2019

4.0

I really do like the software better than any other email client I have used, so I am sticking with them for now. I hope they are true to their word on only collecting email addresses that you use Mailbird to check. I don't believe they share addresses with any outside company and have only received one sales email from them.

Pros

Easy to use and integrates well with Gmail, Office 365, and just about any email account you would use. Very simple but powerful interface. Love that it has a 'Unified Account' where you can see emails from the accounts you choose, but still leave your 'spam' email account out (you get to choose which accounts show up there). Search seems to work really well, even better than Outlook with both gmail and Office 365 accounts.

Cons

They DO collect email addresses that you use Mailbird to check. I was surprised to get an email solicitation to purchase the business version to an account that I had set up but never shared with Mailbird (I used a different account to purchase.) I would have rated them 5 stars across the board if it were not for this. I read online where someone from Mailbird was comparing this to google saying that google collects all sorts of data. The difference is that google is close to being a trillion dollar company with a lot to lose. Everyone knows they collect data and either accept it or use something else. I had never heard of Mailbird until several weeks ago, and their website makes it sound like they do not collect this information when they actually do. "Mailbird also no longer sends name and email address to the License Management System. " (this appears to be a new 'update', but I confirmed that it has been on the website for the last several months at least.) All of their 'add-ons' are really just opening web apps in a side bar. They don't appear to have any real integration with the program. There are two places to 'opt out' of data sharing. When you first set up the program it asks you, then you have to also go into settings -> advanced and un-check 'Share performance and usage data'.

### "Most beautiful email client with popular software integration"

January 25, 2022

5.0

Overall I am a Fan of Mailbird. It delivers what it is supposed to deliver beautifully. I would recommend anyone to get Mailbird. You will love it when you will be able to handle multiple tools from a single place.

Pros

Mailbird is my favorite mail client from the time they were just starting up. They show all your emails from a nice and clean layout. I also like their skins so much. Mailbird gave me no trouble when I connected it with my office mail whereas Outlook 16 needed a lot of troubleshooting with the app password. Moreover, I could access my Whatsapp, Google Drive, Trello board all from the same place.

Cons

Sometimes I miss a note-taking feature in Mailbird. Another thing I miss is a web panel to check my emails. I need to check mail from my office but as I have a single license and don't want to install Mailbird on my office computer (It has my sensitive login info) A web panel could have helped.

### "Mailbird has a great interface for managing multiple mail accounts"

April 1, 2023

4.0

Overall, I stopped looking for another app, and so, for my, the glitchy integrations are not enough for me to move on to another app, because I really like the user interface of Mailbird.

Pros

I like the interface overall. I use it for a total of ten distinct mailboxes for diffferent companies and roles, and Mailbird gives me enough ways to separate these things, while still having a catch-all inbox, which they call Unified Inbox, in case I ever achieve Inbox Zero.

Cons

I have yet to be able to get the integrations to work - Zoom and Google Calendar are the two I would use the most. I also find the Chrome and facebook integrations glitchy - when I had them integrated and would open a link in Mailbird, I could not close the window, ever, so that it was blocking the screen until I force closed the mailbird process altogether.

### "A solid email client"

October 17, 2023

4.0

Overall, mailbird is a great product that I am proud to use daily.

Pros

I like a unified email account that consolidates all my Gmail accounts in one place. I like the integration with Evernote and Facebook helps my productivity. I love the search function which is fast and accurate.

Cons

For filters, it would be advantageous to be able to screen for partial strings in a domain name to be able to delete it from the inbox. Currently, I have spam coming to me from different variations of @xxxxxxxxxxxxxxfacebookmailcom. I would like to be able to set up filter ANY emails coming from the facebookmail.com domain

### "A Simple, Easy Way To Manage Email"

December 16, 2021

4.0

Overall, I'm happy with MailBird and would recommend it to anyone who needs a mail consolation workspace that is not cluttered.

Pros

Right from the very beginning, I liked the lightweight simplicity and unclustered feel of the program. It's easy to set up and connect multiple email accounts or just manage one account in say Bluehost that doesn't offer many features. It integrates well with most external apps and there is really no deep learning curve. Plus, the themes are pleasant and not intrusive. Plus, I like the little sound of the birdie.

Cons

The notifications are somewhat limited and I would like to see a larger search box, maybe more about what I'm searching and filters.

### "Despite great reviews, a terrible product"

August 18, 2018

1.0

Unpleasant, time-wasting.

Pros

Search function -- goes back through tens of thousands of emails quickly.

Cons

Numerous glitches/problems. Let me count the ways. Very hard to find the folders associated with each email account. Not intuitive. After writing an email and hitting send, nothing is sent much of the time. A deal breaker. Can take over a minute to sync recent emails (I have a fast computer and a high speed internet service). Search function does not clear so when you reopen Mailbird you still have the same emails from the your old search showing. You have to manually clear it. Display of emails makes it hard to access other emails in string it has aggregated. Mailbird just started organizing emails by sender although I hadn't requested it. I now have to go back into the settings and correct. Miserable, horrible email client despite great reviews. Help staff is friendly, responsive and useless.

### "Mailbird is easily the best replacement for Outlook."

August 7, 2021

5.0

Pros

I switched from Outlook to Mailbird as Outlook continually crashed when opening up specific emails. I haven't had any of these issues with Mailbird. Mailbird provides a very basic interface with the majority of options accessible through the application settings. I find this helps me focus more on the emails I have received as much more real estate is provided for these. I also love how you can see when people have received and opened an email so your not guessing whether they have read it when following up with them.

Cons

The filters that I have set up in Mailbird work, but when I run these manually they are far slower to run then Mailbird's competitors. While it does not crash the software, sometimes I can be waiting for many more minutes and so close the software to stop the filter running.

### "Great..., when it works. "

September 25, 2020

2.0

The benefits are running mltiple accounts on one platform. THe inability to get the level of attention to resolve such a critical issue is not acceptable. I am shopping for a replacement and would NOT RECOMMEND them if you rely on your email as much as I do.

Pros

The ability to manage multiple accounts in a single Inbox.

Cons

Their support is horrible. Beginning the third week of plsatitudes and apologies, but NO FIX to a basic, fundamental requirement to sync my calendar. THis is all I get: "I have thoroughly investigated the log.log files that you have provided and it seems for some reason Mailbird cannot establish synchronisation with your calendar and we have SQL errors registered there. I have forwarded your support request to our development team who will investigate this further and work on a fix. I understand how frustrating this is not to be able to use your calendar within Mailbird, and I would like to apologise for all the trouble and inconvenience caused. We are working on fixing this as soon as possible, hopefully, this will not take long."

### "Mailbird is a very simple to use but capable email client with some very handy app integrations."

April 19, 2018

4.0

Pros

Mailbird is an excellent and easy email client with which you can manage your different email accounts and your email's there within simple and quick. Third party app integration gives one the possibility to enhance once productivity by social media connections (Whatsapp and Facebook) and to-do lists, Google Calendar, Contacts, Keep, Evernote, Dropbox. This way, you have a very handy application which by a simple system of settings can be displayed in different manners. The email writer is easy and contains all necessary features.

Cons

There seems no pursue of the integration of more useful apps into mailbird but this might be in the development pipeline as well. A nicer automatic organizer of email groups (which groups all emails of one sender into one single group for easy management or tagging) would be very much appreciated.

### "Clean Design, no fuss mail client"

May 28, 2019

4.0

Mailbird helps me as a small business owner easily oversee my suite of emails. Also, I've easily set up the free version for all my team mates which only need one email account. We don't need special email features and yet I'm personally using 30-50% of the features Mailbird provides, the good thing is that they don't come in my way.

Pros

Very straight forward use, no extraneous features showed in your face all the time Very cheap for what it offers Customizable layouts for landscape or portrait monitor setup Dark mode UI

Cons

When opening links from add-ons apps (such as WhatsApp or Slack) it insists on opening them with their own implementation of a browser which is not practically usable. There are very occasional bugs but they all get ironed out very fast Setting up yahoo mail is a multiple step process, but I suppose that's the case with most email clients No functional proprietary spam filter
