I also mistakenly made two accounts for the same person and am having trouble merging them. I have found it a lot easier to navigate than Jane which is what we learned in school. Overall, the only things I mentioned not liking do not dampen my experience significantly, but would be nice to have. Pros It is very user friendly and the support team responds quickly when reaching out for support. I like how they do take into account the user experience and is always adapting and growing to fit the needs of its practitioners. Cons The notes don't have spell check integrated in them in all types of text boxes, so that does make proofreading take longer than it needs to before signing notes, and I wish there were also a way to be able to have more choice as to when a cc is needed to be added for clients (ex. yes to before they book a paid session, but not needed if they are just booking a discovery call) because this has made me run into some issues. There are some other minor annoyances such as wishing I could change the default filter within the clients tab to be me and not my whole clinic as well, but overall I do really like this platform. We are not impressed. Pros Our practice has been using OWL for many years and liked it up until recently. Thinks like video therapy, the calendar, the finance options and notes were good. Cons Recently changes were made where certain services, like direct links to video chats were removed from the regular service and made into a 'professional' feature and the prices for the service were jacked up. I don't like this bait and switch tactic and find Owl to be unethical. When I have a challenge, I know that it will tend to be resolved in less than 24 hours which is comforting. Sadly, my last few support requests go a bit unheeded, and I have to apparently and needlessly restate my question to have the support necessary that resolves my issue. That's not great, but luckily isn't fully a norm yet. But overall I appreciate Owl in providing clear oversight into my practice. Pros Ease and simplicity of use is my primary draw. Its user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. Given the cost, I do find that it's quite beneficial and that I get out of it the value that I pay for. Cons Some features are not automatic, such as including linked accounts for couples sessions. That creates tedious work of ensuring all clients are on respective invoices/receipt. I would like to have a "contact to book" option that is currently done with Jane, as that's a shortcoming that other applications have. I would also love to see a view where I can see clients' last session date together so I can follow up with clients if need be compared to going though my whole client list to verify who hasn't returned. That's a significant gap in client care. I feel like the platform is a solid option for me and my clients. It's allowing me to grow my practice at a price that is affordable and still gives me a lot of flexibility and tools within the platform. Very satisfied so far! Pros I switched from another platform that had been provided free as part of my training program. OWL offered a more affordable option for a new therapist just building my practice. The learning curve was not too steep and they have good customer support. I also like that it complies with all of the regulations and privacy laws in my jurisdiction. Cons I really don't dislike anything so far. I am still honing my use of Smart Notes but I am finding it to be a great tool. I also love the quick responses from Owl when I have questions. The response is quick and easy to follow. Pros I have loved how Owl Practice has helped me do my billing with ease. I appreciate that my clients have access to their own portal space where they can see their invoices, and appointments. I am also very excited to start using the AI system for my notes. Since notes take up a portion of time, this feature will save me time. I do think it Owl is a good value for money. The different bundles they offer is really helpful as my practices changes and grows. Cons There is nothing I can think of that I don't like about this product this far. Pros For the most part it is very user-friendly. I am able to manage most of my business quite easily. The calendar is great - clear and easy to work with. The basics for financial management work great. I feel I can trust the security of my clients’ information. I could definitely be paying far more for a program that has more problems (and I have before). Cons Some of the features can be frustrating at times (for example generating specific reports). The program evolves and changes with input from its users and the support staff are always responsive when I need support troubleshooting. Cons Some parts of the video platform still need to be worked out. As as art therapy supervisor, I like have supervisees share their screen so we can look at client artwork, but often there are issues and it's not as user friendly as with other video platforms. It is comprehensive, secure, and easy-to-use. It meets most of my needs as a psychologist. Tech support is not the most helpful but I find you rarely need support. Pros I like how it is specialized for psychologists, psychotherapists, and other mental health counsellors. I also like how it is a very integrated system- patient management, calendar, billing and invoicing, accessing the video calls; it is all easily accessible and easy to use. I also like how they offer different tiers- for example if you want basic features like just calendar and invoicing, or if you want a highly integrated system with SMART notes feature and psychometric testing, they have multiple options. Cons I find their tech support could be improved. I will have certain issues and after a little back-and-forth, the problem is left without any real solution or sign that they will take real steps to try to figure out the problem. I have a back-up video service that I use occasionally for this reason. I have nothing else to compare it to (ie Jane) but I am satisfied and have recommended it to new psychologists starting out. Pros Owl is easy to use, organizes my business and gives me peace of mind with how the data is stored. Customer service is very responsive. Cons I find setting up group video sessions non-intuitive. It offers exactly what I need without an excess of options that can make things feel less efficient. Pros The calendar system helps me easily see what appointments I have scheduled each week in addition to being able to share this calendar to my phone to easily organize work and personal life. I also find it simple to add session notes directly from the appointment as well as billing all from one screen. Cons Occasionally there are issues connecting using the Owl video call function and there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason on how to get it working again.
