### "Apache OpenOffice"

December 4, 2018

5.0

Overall this is an exceptional alternative to Microsoft Office. It is easy to use, set up a lot like Microsoft Office and is compatible with Microsoft Office. Is great to add to those extra laptops etc that you do not want to have Microsoft Office installed on.

Pros

Is very easy to use and compatible with Microsoft Office

Cons

The formula portion can be a little confusing.

### "Free to use Office Suite that does the Basics Well"

May 17, 2018

4.0

Pros

Easy to use, Free Word Processing and Spreadsheet software that can be used offline. Small footprint on user's hard drive.

Cons

User interface is a bit dated compared to other products, and some file formats are proprietary so documents don't share easily. But still a good free offline product

### "Qualitative use of Apache OpenOffice"

April 27, 2022

5.0

Pros

Apache office is really good place do operation like people used to do in ms office. plus there are some extra facility that you can not have it in ms office. - you can easily access any function from one place not like to have separate application for each function. - you can draw any algorithm & diagram with better explanation. while in MS you have to install seperate program for that.

Cons

\- sometimes It's bit slower to load full application. - maybe they can improve User interface.

Pros

Does everything that others do and more, great price! Offers many features other pay software does not.

Cons

Not more widely supported base file formats, I would also like to see better support for adding videos and media to files and presentations.

### "Even though it's free, it's not better than its competitors"

July 18, 2019

3.0

Pros

Great that it's free! Great that it can edit Microsoft Office formats.

Cons

For free a Office suite, I strongly strongly prefer Google's suite. Docs, sheets, etc. My biggest problem with OpenOffice is that it tries to be Microsoft Office but is so much more awkward and clunky. I would like OpenOffice more if it stripped away a lot of its bells and whistles and focused more on desktop minimalism.

### "Editing documents for personal use"

May 11, 2018

3.0

Pros

The tool still provide a great free option for the Microsoft office users as it can handle the more "complex" Microsoft office files.

Cons

The open office implementation gets less attention from it's developers recently in terms of bug fixing and maintenance, in addition the program is a bit resource consuming.

It's a great free solution for everyday office needs

Pros

The open office has all the minimum functionality for creating standard format documents such as text, spreadsheets and slides. In addition it is open source

Cons

The software interface is a point that leaves a little to be desired because it is old and not updated.

Very good, easy to use and does all it needs to do for us

Pros

Easy to use and at a great price. This is the only useful alternative we found to the paid products by Microsoft

Cons

You need to remember to save the documents in specific formats if you wish to send them to someone using Windows software

### "Difficult to use"

December 14, 2018

We have had team members that only had access to OpenOffice, so I use it to read OpenOffice files.

Pros

I like the fact that OpenOffice is free, and can be a good solution on a tight budget.

Cons

It is very difficult to import and export to various file formats, and also difficult to use various features.

This is a pretty easy product to use and won't break the pocket book

Pros

Free is the way to go. Open Office is about as close to Microsoft Office as you will get without the money

Cons

Having been a Microsoft Office user for so long there were some functions that were not available on this software and I really missed having them.

So look, a very good office for someone who is not involved in any professional activity. The reason is that it's free.

Pros

Easy to install application, with spreadsheets, presentations, etc.

Cons

Sometimes the tools I need can't find right away because I'm used to microsoft office pro.

### "Great Alternative to Microsoft Office "

July 1, 2019

5.0

Pros

If you can't afford the MS office suite, this is a great alternative for you. The free version is packed with the essentials that will allow you to type and create your everyday documents and presentations. I would say this software is much easier to navigate since the essentials are right in front of you.

Cons

This is a great software and I don't have much negative to say about it. The only thing that happened when I initially downloaded it, it made my virus protection go off. All I had to do was approve the download and it worked just fine!

### "Great features and free!"

March 16, 2020

4.0

Overall I think this is a great product. Especially for a free service. You can do anything you'd need to do from presentations or word processing.

Pros

I liked that this software has literally everything that paid programs would have but for free. If you're doing basic information presentations or organizational type things, then you will be more than happy with this free service.

Cons

I don't really have any complaints or issues. Basically anything that you would need to do, you can. If you need to do anything for your business or school, it's easy to use and free.

### "Necessary-but not sufficient"

November 5, 2019

3.0

A great substitute which can be used for your basic tasks and functions. However, when you are looking for perfection and professionalism, it is not sufficent for your needs

Pros

The interface is simple and easily understandable. It can be widely used in smart classroom boards and can be a vital tool for your office works. It is really cost effective as compared to its counterparts

Cons

There is a great let down in the features and which he are very less. It does not accept most of the features in Microsoft and shows bugs and errord while opening an MS OFFICE file.

### "Great Alternative To Microsoft Office"

July 16, 2019

5.0

Pros

Free and easy to use with a majority of the functionality you can find in Microsoft Office.

Cons

The GUI/interface is similar to Office but not exactly the same. It may take some time to get used to.

### "Trash"

December 7, 2018

2.0

Pros

I like the fact that it is free and has inferior versions of word, powerpoint, and excel.

Cons

Absolutely frustrating to use and navigate, takes several attempts at changing a setting for it to actually work, randomly crashes and loses most of your work, and the program seems to work against you more than it works for you.

### "Free software"

October 17, 2018

3.0

Pros

I like this is free and that it did the job whilst I didn't have access to another word processor.

Cons

It is hard to use and structure. Coming from word the functions and toolbars weren't as good. Also when saving the document as another format would cause all the words and images to move about and the whole format of the page would be different.

### "Good alternative to Microsoft Office (Free!!)"

March 14, 2018

5.0

Pros

If you are not ready to spend for an office license then this is what you are looking for. Basically has all the features just like MS Office but for free. Although the UI could have been better.

Cons

Pretty Nice!! except for UI. Could have been richer and sometimes the MS Word created docs do not open properly.

### "A reliable opensource alternative to commercial Office products"

October 17, 2019

4.0

The compatibility to other Office products makes it a a serious player in this industry. I felt comfortable using it from the first moment.

Pros

The versatility and ease of use of this software makes any user feel comfortable to use it without second thought.

Cons

I think the lack of real-time collaboration, in all of this software's components, is a weak point but it can be improved in future versions.
