It got confusing fast, and people would sometimes edit the wrong version. Now everything lives in one place. One link, one version. Comments and suggestions are tracked properly, and everyone stays aligned. It’s saved us a lot of time and cut down on small but annoying mistakes. For a distributed team, that alone makes it worth using. Pros Real-time editing is the main reason we use it. Multiple people can jump into the same doc, leave comments, make changes, and you see everything happen instantly. No refreshing, no confusion about who edited what. Autosave is solid too. Yes it is reliable, secure and easy to use and good for collaborative work but along with that it has many drawbacks like poor tracking feature and bad offline mode. Pros The very first thing that I like is that it is very user friendly and easy to use. The features like cloud storage makes me feel secure that my data is safe and stored and can be accessed anytime and anywhere. Also the feature of collaborating works real time is a great addition to the software. Cons The thing I dislike is that is gets slow while working on large files with attachments like photos and offline mode is also not very smooth. Also the free version is excellent but the paid one is bit too expensive for the work and features it provides. This product has allowed group work to be more inclusive and has increased productivity significantly. Members are able to go into documents at their convenience so that contributions can be done asynchronously. This has made a big difference for me since I prefer to go in first or last, depending on the project. Google Docs works well with how my work day schedule is formatted. Pros Google Docs allow various members of our team to work on the same document simultaneously. We are always able to refer or revert back to a previous version of the document if necessary. We're also able to give various groups different access to view or comment on the document without the risk of changes being made without permission. It does of course, require a constant internet connection which depending on the use case or context can sometimes be a hurdle. From a more technical stand point, it tends to excel in convenience, but this is traded off in terms of difficulties in control or data governance. Customer support is almost non existent since its free but most issues you can google anyway. If your team is small-medium and you need something simple for collaboration then go for it. For heavy professional formatting I still switch to Word sometimes. Overall happy and will keep using. Pros its super easy to use and the real time collaboration is the best thing. Pros As a lecturer, i have been using Google Docs almost on a daily basis to prepare for lecturing documents and learning materials for my learners and i have always enjoyed my experience working with it. I also love the advanced security and access control features which makes it possible to keep all my work and documents safeguarded from malware and other security threats.
