Using it as a wedding planning template amongst bridal party is useful rather than constantly sending new updated files, Google Docs will update right away and you just open via the same link/file. It's makes it very easy to share documents, just copy paste the link to whomever or wherever you want to share it to and people can access it. You can also adjust the permissions given to those who have access, whether they can edit, only view, or comment. Pros Google Docs lets you work on document and share with others simultaneously. Any edits you make will show real time to the other. There is an array of templates to download and use to make document creation easier. Everything is stored online in your Google drive, you can manage the folders as well. It is free to use and most templates are also free, some you need to pay if you find from other sources but you can find quite a lot of good templates to use for Google Docs. You do not need to have the Docs open if someone else works on it to have their edits sync, it will automatically sync together. You can also write comments or use chat box, see the history of who edit what part and revert edits there if a mistake happens. Their customer support is also very fast, responsive. I accidentally deleted a file before one time without noticing and couldn't find it in the recently deleted so I reached out to support and they were able to help me recover very quickly. Cons If you want to open anything that was originally from MS Word onto Google Docs, it will sometimes shift things around like images, tables, etc. But you can still open MS Word docs with Google Docs. There also isn't as many editing tools as MS Word has but it is not bad overall for general use. I use Google Docs every day to collaborate with my boss or team members. It is a great tool for single-page projects or dissertations. I would like to know more about its features and how it can be a bit more creative with template sections and such. Oh, my professional used it to add comments on our writing - I love that feature too. Pros I like that you can collaborate with your team in real time. It is easy to share documents with your team, and the new tab feature is amazing. You can customize the docs with charts, tables, etc. - great for the visual aspect. The tagging feature in Google Docs is spot-on. I love that you can assign a particular task to a member - Google Docs will send them an email, so you don't have to. Cons I would like to see more creativity in the template sections; the collaboration function is a bit glitchy. Back in the day, you could see what someone was typing in the document while you were working at the same time. Now, you have to wait until they are finished or know their exact location, so you all aren't writing in each other's sentences. I think they should provide a tutorial on all the features Google Docs has, so you'll know how to use it. I want to add better enhancements and visuals to Google Docs. " March 13, 2026 5.0 I use this daily for notes, storing information, collaborating on documents with others, and making work documents. I love how easy and intuitive it is. Pros I like that it is free, easy to use, I never have issues with bugs, everything is easily integrated with other platforms and automatically backed up on icloud. Cons I am honestly very satisfied overall with Google Docs. I do wish there were more templates to choose from though. I especially like being able to access my documents from different devices and share them without sending multiple file versions. Pros I like how simple Google Docs is for creating and editing documents. Real-time collaboration is very useful because I can work with others at the same time. Cloud storage, easy sharing, comments, and version history also make my daily work much easier. Cons The formatting and advanced document design options can feel limited compared with dedicated desktop word processors. It also depends on a good internet connection for the best experience, especially when working with larger documents.
