### "This is the solution your team is looking for!"

December 18, 2019

5.0

It is a great solution for teams to work on the same file and I would definitely recommend to students, NPO to take it as it is completely FREE.

Pros

1\. Very Collaborative – this is the solution for your team to work together on certain files. Everyone can even edit at the same time and change will be reflected in a real time manner. 2. Great Security – all files are on cloud so it is safe and sound. Your device could made your file lost or damage but google doc will always instantly(almost) save your file. 3. Accessibility – you can work on your files anywhere with any device. No installation needed as you can directly access through any web browsers. 4. Version Control – you can restore an earlier version of the file. Easy to recover from any mistakes. 5. Unlimited Storage – there is no space limitation so you can store and share as many files as you like.

Cons

1\. The folder structure could be confusing for new users. Wish they have a good tutorial on how to tide up the documentations. 2. I have difficulties using the offline mode but it could be helpful for others.

Reason for choosing Google Docs

It is online and browser based solution. It needs no installation or purchase.

### "A document collaboration tool like no other"

August 16, 2021

5.0

Google Docs has been a great addition to our team tools, and has taken our collaboration to very practical and productive new heights. We are able to easily save our documents and access them across our different devices, and work together on finalizing work materials way faster than before when we had to a lot of draft emailing before they’re finalized.

Pros

I particularly enjoy the email notification feature which can be set to alert me when other team members make any edits or comments on our shared document. And I can also respond directly via the email without needing to go into the document. As someone who is extremely anti-browser clutter, I would have to be constantly opening and closing tabs if not for this feature.

Cons

It can be quite hectic working across Google Docs and MS Word. There are always formatting challenges when moving from one to the other, which means extra time finalizing documents. This can be very frustrating when working with external partners who aren’t as tuned in to G Suite as we are.

### "Google docs for file sharing with my clients"

August 28, 2021

5.0

I use this to present social media plans to my clients and it's great, they can modify things easily, put comments and I can see those changes in real time. We organise our files, pictures, etc. I also like that you can select who has access to it easily.

Pros

I love that you can work within the document with all the basic features of sheets, presentations documents and forms . I also like that you can connect and modify things in the documents within a team easily in real time. It's organised, very safe and practical.

Cons

Definitely need more options in sheets, presentations and forms. It doesn't have everything that powerpoint, excel and word have and at first its hard to find some tools.

### "Must use for Collaboration"

August 30, 2021

5.0

My overall experience has been really good. As mentioned earlier, I have completed most of my group and also individual assignments and collaboration using Google docs and will recommend this product to anyone who wants to manage their documents.

Pros

I really like the sharing feature that has immensely helped me in collaborating and sharing my thoughts with the team. Most of my group assignments have been done using google docs as it enables real-time updates.

Cons

It is not that good in formatting. Once the discussion is over and all the thoughts have been recorded on the document, it is always a challenge to format and I have to always download a word document in order to format. Moreover, access without the use of internet is also not possible so that is also an additional challenge.

### "Great way to share and complete projects and docs"

March 30, 2020

5.0

I'm really happy to be using Google Docs. I've used another cloud system and it was horrible. This system allows me to accomplish more when I really need to!@

Pros

I like being able to use and share the products with others as well as have at my disposal when I'm away from my computer. There are times when I have to pull up a document that I was not ready for and there it is, in my Google drive. This allows me to share and update it anywhere, anytime.

Cons

There seems to be some subtle nuances different from word or excel. While the format is very similar, they don't always seem to align with the actual software.

Reason for choosing Google Docs

I use Google for a lot of operations and after my horrible experience with OneDrive, it made sense to stick with the one that works best.

### "The most competitive contender against Microsoft Word"

August 14, 2023

5.0

I am very impressed with all of Google's apps, and Docs is no different. While I still prefer Microsoft Word for multiple reasons, Google Docs is an excellent alternative. The fact that Google Docs is free is definitely a major selling point.

Pros

I love the quick and easy interface implemented by Google Docs, but my favorite thing about the platform is the way it can be used in conjunction with so many other Google tools.

Cons

My least favorite aspect of this platform is the fact that is pretty much exclusively used online. If the connection is lost, then several problems tend to arise with using the software.

### "A constantly updated file for study or work"

February 3, 2018

5.0

When I was in my Master doing my dissertation I can write and edit the file constantly through Docs, this was the best option I found in the internet to save my dissertation files and to share with tutor the progress and the final version of it.

Pros

The thing that I most like about Docs it is the constant autosave, it look something unimportant, but when you are a worker and a student simultaneously, have your files constantly save and updated is a big help, that other software like Words do not do, or not in the same way that Docs do it. Aside of this great feature, with Docs you can do all that you do with other software like Word or Libreoffice, you edit your files, add images, tables or graphics, and so on. Another great feature is the possibility to share your files, for other people to edit a make a great teamwork.

Cons

Like other Google extensions you a storage associated with your mail, so if you have a very load mail, you cannot share or create big files in Docs. In the beggining it was very difficult to have the information in order, but now with Drive and the labels this is not a big deals, so aside the limit storage, Docs is the best option for your files in the cloud

### "Simple, but functional"

May 14, 2019

5.0

I use it daily to make my writings and share them with other colleagues to review them. I really like collaborative work and this software offers tools for this. Voice dictation is my favorite feature of Google Docs, as it helps me optimize my work. The simplicity of Google Docs I like and, above all, to be able to work online and have everything available in Google Drive, I can access them from any device and save them automatically.

Pros

Its simplicity I like a lot, it's also free and just by accessing my Gmail account I have access. I like auto-save, it's one of the things that I appreciate the most, since I don't have to worry about saving the document every so often, but I just concentrate on writing or doing my work, this brings speed and concentration to what I write. It allows collaborative work and I can, in a simple way, assign permissions to specific people to read and even edit my documents. It offers an excellent voice dictation, which greatly benefits productivity, since I can write more in a short time, the quality of voice reception is very good and this is one of the functions I like most about Google Docs.

Cons

I'e no complaints It's a software that meets its objective and works very well. I like very much.

### "The creative friend."

July 12, 2019

5.0

As a student my overall experience is very good. i didn't know much about google docs before. before i was writing in libre office. but i made a lot of mistakes in there my writing. my laptop has ubuntu software. so i could not write in microsoft word. that time my friend suggested me this goofle docs, he was also using this. through this i wrote in google docs and that helped me to reduce the mistakes in my writing. also i can download my writing in any format, word or pdf etc. so i this gave me a lot of benefits in my academics and my other works.

Pros

I like it because this is very friendly using software. we just need to search it on google for accessing it. also it is free and free to install. unlike other word documents in this we could easily open documents and read and write, also there are are are variety of documents in it for writing. we can download our writing document in any format, word, pdf,etc..

Cons

one thing is that i noticed, yes it shows error like spelling mistake. but sometimes when i write some words that correct like good will it shows red line under it. it also not have the feature of grammar checking, hen it would have been good for our writing. also the footnotes, when we write footnotes, in microsoft word we can put footnotes where we want and we can explain that term there. it shows the number exact on that word we write. we just need to click on that it shows the explanation there and we can easily read it. but in google docs we need to click on the word we want to explain it shows under document a space and tell us to write there. everytime we need to do that. sometimes in my own experience it costs me a little time. for footnotes explanation in google docs i need to scroll all the way down to the document. it also need more functions. we are writing, so we need more functions to make our writings more better.

### "Great for collaboration and linking to online drive, but could use updates in features"

February 16, 2021

4.0

Overall, for work, grad school, and my own personal uses, it has been great. I can easily share things that I need to with others and collaborate with people even from a distance. It was great when we went to distance learning and also since my grad programs are all online we use it a lot for our learning groups. As a teacher and when I need to make documents to print out for my students and include images and format it, it is more cumbersome and annoying. I hope they make these improvements in the future as this will make this tool a lot better.

Pros

I love this for collaborating and general documentation. It is great that you can comment on other's work, share it via email or shared google drive folders, add editors or viewers, create links, etc. That is it's main advantage over Microsoft Word. Having everything online is also easy for it to be saved to the cloud without worry of losing it.

Cons

I really dislike how limited the features of adding graphics/images are. It is extremely cumbersome. Microsoft word isn't great either, but if I need to add charts, graphs, images, etc for my students, Canva is definitely a better option. The sad thing though is then I cannot share it like a Google Doc. I wish that Google Drive had something similar to Microsoft Publisher. As a teacher, I really need the functionality of easily adding images and such to my documents.

### "A office solution wherever you are."

February 29, 2020

4.0

In general, google docs meets almost all of my needs, mainly document sharing and group editing. The integration with other google and android applications make google docs an indispensable tool for me today. Although I still think that other office suites have advantages over google docs, in the general assessment, google docs is still my first choice.

Pros

What i like most about google docs is the possibility to edit my files anywhere and be able to share them in a simple and practical way. I also like the option to save my photos and files in the cloud without having to worry about disk space on my pc. I also like the option of doing everything on the same platform and integrating my documents with goolgle tools. Best of all, I don't have to pay for it.

Cons

What I don't really like is the dependency that Google Docs has on the internet. If I am in a place where the internet connection is faulty or insufficient, google docs become impracticable. Another bad thing is that it is not always possible to have all the functions of microsoft excell or microsoft word in Google docs and this can be quite disappointing.

### "Efficient for Personal and Collaborative Use "

January 3, 2021

5.0

Fast, reliable document sharing, editing and commenting. Efficiency in my work and organizational abilities thanks to this software has led to fostering better relationships with clients and a professional dynamic. I am able to collaborate and produce documents on time and in recognized, professional formats.

Pros

Google Docs is a great tool for sharing editable lesson plans back and forth between teachers and clients. It's also allowed me to be more organized personally and keep my teaching materials, calendars and office work in one place, easily accessible on my phone, if I need to use that feature when I'm in a hurry or away from my laptop. The collaborative feature has been amazing and stress-free to use, it makes it easy to see comments on my work. The range of compatible file formats takes a lot of time out of the process of finding formats compatible with the software and is great for sharing files.

Cons

The only con would be that you must be online to share documents, which is absolutely fine most of the time. Rarely will I be without internet, or unable to find some.

### "I use Google Docs daily and it's changed the way I run my business"

March 12, 2019

5.0

I am a full-time writer and manage a team of other writers. I work for clients and present our work. It's incredibly helpful to be able to edit in real time and not worry about saving versions of the doc. The commenting tools are helpful too, because every time I comment on a doc, the other people who have access to it get an email update. It saves time in emailing teams to tell them to check the document. Google docs handles telling people there were updates! I also love the mobile functionality of it. I travel full time, so even if I am in the back of a rickshaw in India, I can work on my phone to edit a document, view comments and respond, or create a whole new document and share it with my coworkers or clients. It's unbelievable to not have to have a laptop for word processing!

Pros

I write for marketing and branding firms. Google Docs allows me to share my writing, store old versions of the document, and share comments and updates in real time. It's incredibly intuitive, and I don't ever have to worry if I clicked "save" anymore! It's a huge relief to know that even if I close out, everything I've written will be saved.

Cons

I can't really think of anything that I don't like about it. I use most of the functionalities, including the helpful pre-created templates for invoicing and proposals.

### "Best Open-Source Word Processor"

March 17, 2021

5.0

My overall experience with this software has been a positive one. I've been using it daily for over three years after getting frustrated with other word processing software from other office suites. I hope they continue to improve it.

Pros

The best thing about Google Docs, aside from it being open-source and completely free, is its connection to the cloud, and instant, constant file saving feature. Gone are the days of losing valuable progress because you forgot to save something. Having worked with teams of various companies, the commenting feature is also invaluable. Whether taking in real-time or over a period, this is really great for collaborative efforts - the next best thing to leaning over a document together in person!

Cons

Larger documents can take a while to load and lag, and the tab may even crash. I've done troubleshooting and discovered this actually has nothing to do with my computer (which is a 2020 model with amazing specs) or my internet connection (literally everything else loads in a blink). Whatever the issue is, I hope it's resolved soon.

### "Excellent and very practical to make documents"

March 18, 2018

4.0

You can share documents through the cloud so that other users can collaborate in the drafting and debug important documents, such as theses, projects, etc.

Pros

This application is very easy to use adapts to any platform. It can be easily installed in any operating system. It is based on free software. It has great versatility and allows you to create, edit and modify documents. We can share these documents online to be able to be modified between several users without altering their content. With this application you can allow access to other users who are in other places, this access can be restricted, that is, I can give users privileges to read only, modify or delete the document. All my works, such as: reports, projects, theses, etc. I can save them in the cloud and review them with google doc anywhere, in the same way I can request the work of my students by mail and review them online, with the convenience of not having papers on top. So in this way I contribute ecologically, since I do not spend paper or ink and my students, teachers and friends can save a lot of money by using this application since they will not have to print documents.

### "Terrific and yet so very frustrating"

March 7, 2019

4.0

Google Docs is both remarkably easy (when it works) and utterly byzantine (when it doesn't). As a user who is comfortable using Mac, Linux, and PC operating systems, it is frustrating to feel like they have reinvented the wheel when it comes to simple file management. A basic user can do well immediately, but to become truly competent takes serious diligence and buy-in -

Pros

Incredibly easy document creation, collaboration, and sharing. Zero learning curve to create meeting minutes, take notes, co-author reports or policies, or any number of other content-creation tasks. Tagging people and adding action items is fast and efficient. Works great if folks are on the Gmail domain and almost as well if they are not. It's Google, so you know the search works. Automatic outlining in the left pane is a nice feature.

Cons

Too many overlapping services (Docs and Drive e.g.) make it confusing to navigate and find files again. Spreadsheets made in Sheets do not appear in search results on docs.google.com. Google throws out conventions (heirarchical folders with detail columns) in favor of "recent docs" which makes it challenging to find the file you need if it is older or not frequently accessed. Permissions and sharing settings are quick to set up initially, but are not intuitive or straightforward to modify. It is easy for multiple users in the organization to do "what works" and make a mess of document ownership and sharing, and not find out until later. I would like to be able to sort files by name, or date ascending, or otherwise browse. A very common frustration is "Where is that file?? (who owns it, who's drive is it in, where on earth did it save to?)" On a good day, it just happens. On a bad day, who knows. Nonprofits, which subsume all those services and more - b

### "Favorite Tool for Writing Business-Related Docs"

July 31, 2019

5.0

Google Docs is a lifesaver to those of us who work virtually with teams.

Pros

I use Google Docs daily to virtually support my team who is located across the USA. It offers the same functionality as Word, but in my mind offers more value to virtual teams. You don't have to send files or docs back and forth to edit. All changes are done in real-time (and see how those changes are impacting the output of the Doc). I can restrict access to those inside my organization, those outside my organization OR a Doc can be completely locked to everyone else. Yes, you will need to connect to an internet connection, but you can literally pick up the same Doc and continue from anywhere. The fact that this software is free is completely mind-baffling, but I pray that they never change that aspect of it.

Cons

Microsoft of Google? This is the debate of the Century, right? Word might offer a little more in functionality (they offer more formatting options, templates, etc.), but I am unable to work on the same document, at the same time, as my virtual team members. You may not think that's necessary, but in my world, this is a regular occurrence.

### "Free and Intuitive documentation tool"

July 21, 2020

3.0

My overall experience with Google Docs has been satisfactory because I am able to record tagging, reporting and campaign re-targeting instructions with no additional cost investment needed to buy a software. So, its ROI is high, as long as the user is familiar with using Google suite of office tools such as Google Drive and Gmail in conjunction with Google Docs. And, is comfortable with collaborating on same project with multiple members using commenting and file sharing features. Other tools like Microsoft Word are costly.

Pros

I use Google Docs to document my marketing campaign strategy. So, I can leverage it again, when needed in the future. Example: I came up with a re-targeting campaign strategy using custom audience built in Google Analytics and sent to Salesforce for campaign execution. I documented all the steps of this new strategy using Google Docs which helped me apply the same re-targeting process to other marketing campaigns. I also utilize Google Docs to keep a record of all my tagging and reporting strategies so I can easily apply them to new KPIs or measurement plans. In summary, Google Docs has helped me save campaign optimization instructions for future reference so I am more efficiently repeating process which worked before. Another pro about Google Docs: it automatically saves content as I type, in the cloud. So, there is no risk of losing text or images, if my laptop is frozen or shut down without my control.

Cons

Google Docs doesn't save images from Gmail. For example, if I typed a long email which has a bunch of text and images. And, I want to save that email in Google Docs, it will save the text but not the images. So, I have to save the images in my local drive first and then upload them to Google Docs. Or, take a screenshot of images from the original source and then paste them in Google Docs. Also, Google Docs won't work that efficiently to save content if internet signal is down or if there is no Google account available.
