Pros

Google Docs is easy to use, accessible from anywhere, and makes collaboration simple. I like the real-time editing, automatic saving, sharing options, and ability to work on documents without needing to install software.

Cons

Google Docs does not have as many advanced formatting and design features as Microsoft Word. Some complex documents may require additional adjustments when converting between file formats.

Google Docs remains one of the most accessible and efficient word processors available today. Designed with a cloud-first approach, it excels at real-time collaboration, allowing multiple users to edit, comment, and suggest changes in a single document. For individuals, small teams, and businesses looking for a lightweight, web-based tool without the clutter of traditional desktop software, Google Docs offers a smooth experience.

Pros

Google Docs shines through its instant accessibility, zero-cost entry, and real-time collaboration that lets teams write, comment, and edit together without version headaches. Its clean, intuitive interface makes document creation effortless, while auto-saving to Google Drive and built-in features like smart @-mentions and version history keep work safe and organized.

Cons

The platform falls short for power users who need advanced desktop layout tools, deep macro scripting, or complex document formatting, where traditional word processors still dominate. Additionally, working offline requires manual setup, performance can drag when handling massive, image-heavy files, and importing .docx files occasionally disrupts your layout.

Overall, Google Docs has been a dependable tool for both everyday writing and collaborative projects. It strikes a great balance between simplicity and functionality, and the ability to work with a team in real time has genuinely improved how I get things done. Minor formatting limitations aside, it's become an essential part of my workflow.

Pros

The real-time collaboration is fantastic — multiple people can edit the same document at once and see changes instantly, which makes teamwork so much smoother. It's also incredibly easy to use, with a clean and intuitive interface that requires almost no learning curve. Since everything is stored in the cloud, I never have to worry about losing my work or carrying files around, and I can pick up right where I left off on any device. Version history is another huge plus — being able to see and restore previous edits has saved me more than once.

Cons

Formatting can sometimes be a bit limited compared to desktop applications like Microsoft Word, especially for more complex documents with detailed layouts. It also relies heavily on a stable internet connection — while offline mode exists, it's not always seamless. Occasionally larger documents with lots of images or comments can feel a little sluggish

Pros

Google Docs is way easier to use than Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat. It’s evident that it’s not powerful but that’s what some users are looking for. Just type docs.new and start.

Cons

Considering all Google Docs lacks, the offline is not so efficient because unless download the document it is just saved in Drive.

Before moving most of our documentation into Google Docs, people were emailing revised files with names like Site Procedure\_v5\_Final\_Final. Nobody really knew which one should be used. Now our project managers update meeting notes directly after site visits, our safety officer edits inspection checklists, and the office team can see those changes immediately without waiting for another email.

Pros

Since I am the one who oversees Google Workspace for our construction firm, I also get lots of inquiries anytime someone can't locate a document or unintentionally edits something. Most of our project folders have Docs for things like toolbox talk notes, subcontractor contact lists, equipment handover checklists and internal procedures. What I like is that people don't have to ask "which copy is the latest?" anymore. Everyone opens the same document.

Cons

The worst pain is when someone uploads a Word document including several tables or formatting elements. Nine times out of ten, spacing or fonts need to be fixed before we can use it internally.

The overall experience with Google Docs is very positive, and I recommend it. Try it once and you won't want to leave.

Pros

An easy-to-use and powerful tool, perfectly integrated with other Google tools and powered by AI. What I like most is its ease of use, its ability to connect to other tools, its ability to share documents easily, and, most importantly, its ability to proofread and edit documents simultaneously with colleagues. This truly allows you to work collaboratively on a document. It's definitely worth every penny.

Cons

Sometimes the functions are not well documented, and it is a bit complex to do some things, but all in all, everyone can use it, also because there is a huge amount of tutorials and, above all, if you don't know how to do something, you can ask Gemini

I use Google Docs for documenting APIs, preparing technical designs, writing project requirements, and collaborating with product and engineering teams. It reduces communication gaps by keeping important information in one easily accessible place. Overall, it is a lightweight, reliable, and efficient tool that supports better teamwork and knowledge sharing.

Pros

The biggest advantage is the ability to collaborate instantly with teammates. Developers can review requirements, update documentation, share design notes, and provide feedback without managing multiple file versions. The revision history is also extremely useful for tracking changes and understanding how documents evolved over time.

Cons

Google Docs is not designed for advanced technical documentation or code-heavy content compared to specialized developer tools. Code formatting options are basic, and very large documents can sometimes feel slower. More advanced customization features would make it even better for engineering workflows.

Pros

Google Docs allows me to share what I'm working on with co-workers and vendors, as well as giving me the ability to work on it from any location.

Cons

The ability to reorganize tabs or page breaks could be a little more intuitive in order to make editing easier
