Google Docs was the first writing/editing assistant I ever used. It was easy to learn and so easy to correct any mistakes I made.

Pros

Versatile, easy to understand and reliable cloud storage that can also be accessed offline. Excellent value for money!

Cons

Nothing. I am sure I only use a small percentage of the features available to me, but I always convert microsoft files to Google docs.

My overall experience with Google Docs has been excellent. I use the tool more than any other software, including larger products like Microsoft Word. One feature I really appreciate is how easy it is to save/convert a Google Doc to any save file (like PDF or Word). Having this option makes saving/sending information very easy and helps me save time.

Pros

Google Docs is an essential tool for our business. One of the main features I enjoy about Google Docs is how easy it is to use. Editing text like fonts, margins, and lists is easy with their easy to navigate toolbar. I also appreciate how it is all saved in the Google Cloud and I can access the documents in my Drive at any time. Additionally, sharing documents is so helpful when I need other members of my team to have access to documents. Having the "Manage Members" share button allows us to do this seamlessly and effortlessly. It is helpful to track the history of the document to see how other members have contributed and I appreciate how I can also revert to older versions if needed.

Cons

While I have not experienced many bugs or issues with Google Docs, one feature I wish Google Docs had was a "Create Calendar" template. My team often contributes to a shared calendar which we like to edit in Google Docs and we make it from scratch every year. If this template could be added, it would make the tool even better.

Overall, my experience with Google Docs has been very positive. I use it regularly for drafting, reviewing, and sharing documents, especially when several people need to work on the same file. It is intuitive, reliable, and easy to use also by people with limited digital expertise. The integration with Google Drive and the automatic saving feature are also extremely useful. For everyday documents and collaborative work, it is one of the tools I find most practical.

Pros

What I like most about Google Docs is how easy it is to collaborate with other people in real time. Sharing documents, adding comments, suggesting edits, and keeping track of changes is very straightforward. I also appreciate being able to access my documents from any device (desk and mobile) without worrying about saving different versions.

Cons

For more complex documents, especially those with advanced formatting, tables, images, or specific layouts, Google Docs can sometimes feel more limited than traditional desktop word-processing software. Formatting can also change slightly when importing or exporting Microsoft Word files.

Google docs provides a wonderful opportunity for teachers and students to colloborate and be interactive in the classroom.

Pros

Using Google Docs in the classroom allows students and teachers to work on the same assignment at the same time. I am allowed to add feedback to student work.

Cons

At times (according to the students), it can be a distraction as it may lead to off-task behaviors such as chat rooms allowing for gossip or bullying.

Overall, Google Docs is an indispensable tool for daily documentation and collaborative writing. It prioritizes speed, accessibility, and teamwork over heavy design features. For standard reports, drafts, notes, and collaborative projects, its reliability and zero-setup cloud ecosystem make it the go-to writing tool, even if specialized desktop software is still needed for complex publishing layouts.

Pros

The real-time collaboration feature is unmatched. Having multiple team members edit, comment, and resolve suggestions simultaneously without version-control confusion saves massive amounts of time. The automatic cloud saving ensures no work is ever lost, and being able to access files seamlessly from any device—whether desktop or mobile—makes remote work effortless.

Cons

Advanced formatting options fall short compared to traditional desktop word processors. Managing complex visual layouts, custom margins, multi-level numbering, or heavy image placements can feel clunky and unpredictable. Additionally, while offline mode exists, it requires setup beforehand and can occasionally create sync conflicts when reconnecting to the internet.

I am the Chief Operating Officer and use Google Docs to write business plans, take meeting notes, update operational reports, policy and leadership reviews. It helps me have all the necessary information available and cut unnecessary correspondence about the versions of documents.

Pros

One major advantage is having one copy of a document for everyone to collaborate on. People are able to review, comment, revise, and view the history of previous edits without having to transfer files back and forth.

Cons

Sometimes, the program may seem inadequate when there is a need for more advanced formatting of a document or more complex representation of data.

Very happy with it. It's changed my life and the organizations I am a part of, making document creation easier and accessible to everyone on my teams.

Pros

It is the document center of my life. It is so easy to create unlimited documents with unlimited customization, the recent features added to Google Docs have also made it much more of a no brainer to use versus other tools

Cons

I wish the organizing features of Google Docs was easier, I know the "right" way to organize into folders is on Google Drive but I wish there was a way to organize them in Google Docs home page itself

My overall experience with Google Docs has been very positive. It is a reliable, user-friendly platform for creating, editing, and sharing documents. The real-time collaboration features make it ideal for teams, and the cloud-based access allows me to work from anywhere on any device. While it may not offer every advanced feature found in desktop word processors, it provides excellent value and functionality for most business and personal document needs.

Pros

Google Docs makes collaboration incredibly easy. Multiple users can work on the same document at the same time, comments and suggestions are straightforward to use, and automatic cloud saving means there is little risk of losing work. The integration with Google Drive and other Google Workspace apps is also very convenient.

Cons

Some advanced formatting and document features are not as comprehensive as Microsoft Word, particularly for complex documents. Performance can occasionally slow down when working with very large files or documents containing many images and tables.
