Pros: Seemless integration with calendar and contacts. It on my iMAC, iPhone, iPad and Powerbook. I just upgraded to the Cloud which allows me to manage myself anywhere, anytime with the touch of my finger.

Cons: There is nothing I can think of that I do not like about it. If I had to come up with something it would be that there are features I know are available but I have not yet learned how to use them.

Overall: Control of my business and my life.

Pros: 1. It does everything I want it to, including keeping track of contacts, calendars, tasks, projects pipelines, emails, notes, etc.
2. It integrates perfectly with David Good's Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology. In the past I've had to use two or three apps to do this. Daylite does it all in one place and does it very well.
3. It's reliable. I rarely have a glitch and - when I do - it's minor and tech support already has a fix.
4. It automatically creates backups of the data. I don't have to worry about that.

Cons: The biggest drawback is that it isn't easy to create templates for documents, labels and reports. To create a new label or report template, I need to go to my Daylite consultant, which costs me money. To create a new Word document template is clunky and requires experimentation.

A MAC CRM that meets all your needs, is intuitive and easy for every user, all with great support!

Pros: How easily I can create, link, & follow-up on tasks. There is no concern wondering what tasks I have, the priority, or where I left off, all because the CRM keeps me up to date on my tasks.

Cons: I liked least syncing multiple devices in multiple changing locations with self-serve, but Daylite Cloud solved that issue.

Overall: A great CRM.

Pros: The integration of many features: contacts, calendar, projects, tasks, opportunities, email, notes, external files.
Reliability, especially the Cloud version.
Excellent customer support

Cons: Cost-it is expensive for a solopreneur.
Not available on Android.
It can be overwhelming to learn all of the new features.

Pros: the number of features and the fact the app works offline allow us to have a great speed and response.

Cons: we miss an online version that allows us to have people that not use mac to access the CRM, which could help us to expend the business to places where a Mac computer is too expensive.

Pros: There are so many benefits that space and time do not allow me to list them. I'm sure I'm only using 30% of Daylite's functionality. I can't wait to get to the remaining 70%.

Cons: The email integration is excellent and essential. Please figure out how to do the same with text messages.

Pros: All my devices version, synchronize by Daylite Cloud. Doing things one time and be able to get offline if there is no internet connection temporarly.

Cons: Task are not enough dynamics but when you use them as they can give you, it is acceptable and efficient.

Overall: Control and mind free. My life in a safe place

Pros: No needs at the moment. I'm facilitate because I don't use it by smartphone. A colleague had problems in reading notes when offline by his i-phone

Overall: My boss needed a database for his contacts, working on Mac and i-Phone and this looks like to be the best solution, at the moment ;-)

Pros: I'm probably not using Daylite to its full potential, but I can easily see if I was how powerful it would be!

Cons: No phone support, though over the years I have learned to trust their 24/7/365 email support. They will even do a screen share with you of you're having a particular problem. All in all, pretty impressive!

Overall: Great CRM useful on all my Apple devices remotely.

Pros: How it keeps my teams organized and meeting their deadlines. Easy to use and effective. Ability to check on mobile devices is great.

Cons: Would be nice if the information that is entered into projects produced invoices. If each job that was entered would be assigned an job number.

Pros: The power & overall utility of the search function never ceases to amaze me.

Just starting to notice some of the finer details. Today I finally realized that some fields on a company or contact only show when they actually contain data. When no data, field is empty. Makes for much cleaner, less cluttered display.

Cons: Wish there were some way to document & manage the Keywords.

I will add a keyword... and then later wonder what I actually mean by it. Words, unless explicitly described are ambiguous.

Keywords may be something of a challenge when exposing use of Daylite to other users. Will my keyword meanings be obvious to them? I'll find out shortly.

Overall: Extremely powerful tool to organize & find information.

Pros: As a new realtor, I needed a CRM that was easy to understand and collaborate with the rest of our team. Daylite simplified a lot of processes that would have otherwise made an already intensive job even more so.

Cons: When reminders and tasks are dismissed on one device, it's not always synced to others - in particular my mobile. The tutorials were needed to get up and running quickly, but fortunately they were easy to follow and thorough!

Pros: As a sole proprietor, I needed a package that would keep me on track, and organized throughout all aspects of running my business. When used religiously, Daylite reduces the stress of being a business owner, allowing me to concentrate on being a creative professional. I am just beginning to use Daylite to organize my new business efforts, and am confident that it's keen organizational features will help grow my business. Now cloud based, I have access to my synchronized Daylite data across all platforms, IOS & Mac, from anywhere I have an internet connection.

Cons: Fairly steep learning curve that is worth the initial pain. The user MUST be dilligent in entering all pertinent data related to a project, prospect, lead, opportunity et.al. Enter the pertinent data immediately into Daylite and you will be rewarded with a secure, and concise database of information structured to keep the business owner on track. BUT, you must take the initial efforts to enter pertinent data. So, it is a con, but work thru that initial pain and it will be rewarded.

Overall: Helps keep my business activities, new biz, existing clients, projects' coordination, and link to billings on track, helping to reduce the stress of running my business.

Pros: The many links and relationships are instrumental and easy to use and remember to use, and I absolutely love the mail integrator.

Cons: Mobile app has some syncing hiccups or takes a little long. Also, don't love paying for subscriptions now. While there is an option for server, clearly being phased out and forced to go cloud.

Pros: The integration of email, and tons of fields plus 13 extras, gives me plenty of flexibility to sort/select and find the record I'm looking for.
Fr'instance, say, it's somebody I met at a Rotary Club in some state, but forgot the name, I simply do a search on any word or phrase (not necessarily a keyword) and Daylite finds the likely matches, whether in an email, or a note, or whatever. The associations of who is connected to who (whom?) and how, helps to connected the dots even more.

Cons: While there are plenty of report formats, and capability to modify somewhat, this could be improved. The Access database (at least from what I recall years ago) had a neat way to select/order reports & forms, such as listing, say, customers by city, within county, within state, within region, etc.

Overall: Can't run our National non-profit without it.

Pros: A very good set of sales and workflow management features and a solid build. We love how it integrates our calendars (for people and resources), sales funnel (including quoting), project communications, and CRM. Mail integration allows all emails to be linked to the relevant contact, company, project or opportunity in the main database, so that all team member can see project communications. we are starting to use Zaps to feed directly into the database from other applications.

Cons: Template engine is not intuitive.
Could do with greater automation in contact information capture, and the ability to link multiple email messages in Mail to the same person/project/company by selecting multiple messages in Mail (currently only possible to do this one message at a time).

Pros: It really integrates well with all the Mac features and once you get to know you're way around it's easy to use.
There is very good support with tutorials and a very responsive support team to help answer any questions.

Cons: It can take a bit of time to find what you want through the menu options - I have to use trial and error at times. But I'm still a relative beginner.

Overall: All my client data in one place with all their details. An ability to organise them into groups and communicate with them in those groups.

Pros: The integration of communication traffic with the contacts lets me refer to back history without having to have a bottomless email box. It is enhanced by being synchronised across my iOS devices as well.

Cons: The lack of a tree hierarchy for companies. Instead the same company has to be entered repeatedly for every office involved.

Overall: It lets me have a tool that holds long term information on a series of different projects. I work across a wide variety of industries and it is open and flexible enough to allow a good level of adaptation. No product is perfect but this one suits my needs more fully than other online offerings.

Pros: Easy implementation, rich functionality, integration with other Apple devices, iOS app for working on the road. Every functionality worked on first try with one exception, but then again the customer support was perfect

Cons: The user interface looks a bit outdated, yet it is easy to navigate. There is self-serve (i.e. company hosted, one time purchase) and cloud version (subscription). The company seems to promote the cloud version and the functionalityof the self-serve is limited in comparison with the cloud. Yet even the self-serve version functionality is more than sufficient for anyone.

Overall: Streamlining of customer relation management and project management. Saves a lot of work.

Pros: Great CRM with Opportunity and project tracking. Email integration to easily attach emails to Persons, Companies, Opportunities and/or Projects. All data is cross-linked based on relationship to other pieces of data in the system. Example - You can look up a company and see all the persons, opportunities and projects related to that company on one screen and jump to any of those persons, opportunities and projects by clicking on the link.

Cons: Only works on Apple OS X and IOS devices, No support for any other OS.
No Project Management features, only tracking
No Resource Management features.

Pros: I love that I can just attach emails immediately to Daylite from the sidebar. And I have all information on a customer in front of me, in chronological order if I need to access their file. Being able to add notes and tasks is a plus as well.

Cons: I do not use the full capabilities of Daylite, so there may be a way to do this, but when I save an email into Daylite, the attachment does not come with it. I have to go back to my correspondence to look at the attachment.

Pros: Rich linking -- My ADHD mind isn't deficient in attention - it makes rich connections. Daylite allows me to do that, too. If I think an association is important to capture, Daylite lets me do that. Many other CRM's force an association model on me. I like it that Daylite allows me to make the associations that make sense for me because it let's me later view different perspectives of those links -- everything (yes, everything) that's relevant to a person, an appointment, a note, an opportunity. If I think that's an important as it's top-of-mind, I capture that relationship for later use.

Integrated with native Mail.app -- It's great to link mail to sales opportunities (and people, and tasks and appointment, and projects) all without leaving mail. Then, when I'm back in DL, all that mail shows up when it's relevant. I don't have to go searching through INBOX.

Customer service -- World class. I wouldn't doubt if I were in the top 1% of customers requesting support. I've contacted them A LOT! I always get personal, courteous, expert responses. That's rare. I value that deeply.

Apple first -- The interface does not make concessions to Windows look-and-feel or UX. Yeah! As an Apple-only user, that suits my thinking and muscle memory just fine!

Underdogs -- I feel like I'm part of a movement -- an all-apple CRM that kicks butt for usability and productivity.

Cons: * Beyond-expert-level features and keybindings. Marketcircle is small, and doesn't (yet) have the customer base to get to the kinds of features that my power-user toolsmith mindset would want. For example, some actions require use of a mouse, and I'm a HUGE fan of keeping my fast fingers on the keyboard. That's a nit to pick, but it's the kind of detail that comes from a larger customer base.

Missing - a browser-based (or API) interface -- There are some times that I just don't have my phone or MacBook with me. It would be nice to use any-old-browser. Ah... the tradeoffs for being tightly coupled to Apple-only devices (BTW... See "pros" for same issue).

Overall: * Contact and Calendar on steroids! Rich linking to capture the rich relationships that really exist in the real world.
* Project/task management
* Opportunity management for an extended job search. This could not have happened via a spreadsheet, contrary to job coach advice. A job search is too rich to be 2-dimensional.
* Native Apple look-and-feel, and UX.
* Tracking multiple opportunities in my job search pipeline.
* Integration to email. It just fits in the tools I use every day.

Pros: Daylite is easy to understand and use. I love the design and functionality. It is quite a robust package! I especially like how you can work with the to do lists and the integration with MAC e-mail!

Cons: Unfortuntatly, Daylite is a bit pricey. Probably because you get more than a typical CRM. I would also like to have an external capability to schedule times in my calendar such as with Calendly but I am guessing they are working on a similar integration.

Overall: I have gotten greater structure and organisation in both my private and business life. Not to mention a much greater peace of mind due to the great overview of what is on my plate and training information in order to be more effective.

Pros: It is generally intuitive and there are videos to help me understand how things work.

It is great for tracking customers and conversations.

Cons: The cloud data storage was difficult to set up. But, that was four years ago when there was a different cloud hosting company. Its better since Daylite took that on themselves.

Pros: The ability to bring a number of functions under the one roof, and link them together. Very good for overview of interaction with clients.

Cons: I think reporting could be more robust with the ability to more easily customise reports (if you don't have specific coding knowledge).

Pros: I like being able to link emails to the people or companies in our customer base. It makes it easy to keep track of conversations and the sequence of events etc.

Cons: I wish there were more report printing options. Setting up a group is a bit confusing and i ended up going with a different set up. The Forms could be more useful if there were more options offered.

Pros: I've been using Daylite for around seven years and run a paperless business using it. I've developed my system to more and more closely reflect my workflows. Creating 'activity sets' and 'pipelines' and applying them to projects ensures consistency of approach. The ability to link records gives the ability to build up complex relationships - and unlink them as necessary.

Cons: I can't really think of anything I don't like about Daylite! In the early days, there were synchronisation issues, but the software has moved on considerably since then. I'm now using the 'cloud' version. Even if my Macbook broke or I lost it - all of my work is safely stored on the cloud server.

Overall: I work using Daylite every day - a consummate business tool.

Cons: Daylite is so comprehensive that setup to your liking can be daunting but stay with it as you will love it.

Pros: It has developed to the point that I can use it as my go to program and continues to improve, replacing others used for contacts, tasks, appointments, planning, notes. All in one place would be my description.

Cons: The inability to sync with my iPhone and iPad when offline. I just switched to the cloud version which overall is better for me, not maintaining a server. But I do miss the offline syncing which I sometimes need.

Pros: Free form or structured or both - a simple and elegant way to integrate emails and other communication.

Cons: Right now the iPhone app is not as fully functional - but I know there are changes coming. Looking forward to being able to tag emails to projects while on the road.

Overall: When your busy you need software (technology) to keep you on track and not do things twice. I allocate each new client to a project and use multiple tasks and activity sets to remind me whats next.

Pros: Ease of use, easy integration with Apple's Mail application. It's easy to file away all relevant e-mails and link them to project, contact, opportunity, etc.

Cons: I wish there were an easy way to keep track of billable and/or business development hours. It can be done now, but it requires a calendar entry for each event. Then, filtering on keyword (e.g. "hours") allows quick overview. Rather, I would like to see a running balance of hours spent on each opportunity and project.

Overall: I love using it because it puts the items of most importance where they can be easily monitored and acted on. I've tried over the years to manage projects and opportunities using other organizational software, but none provide the links to allow the appropriate access to information that is needed for each task.

Comments: If you are a MacOS based business looking for a workflow management I would definitely recommend Daylite

Pros: For our consulting business I did not think I could find a platform that would allow us to automate so much of our business development and project management. It even interfaces into our accounting system and works brilliantly on desktop, phone and tablet.

Cons: The biggest issue for us is that while the business is MacOS many of the consultants come with their own hardware and some are either Windows or Android. But there are work around with that.

The best project management app I have been able to find. I don't think another, as good, exists.

Pros: Daylite makes it very easy to track every project on my desk. I am a one woman company, working on a number of projects at any one given time and it could so easily be chaos without Daylite. Being able to view emails and documents within projects, as well as the ability to add notes is essential. Since I moved to a Cloud account it has been even better. Very reliable and easy to keep up to date while on the move. There is a lot that is customisable of which I only use a small amount, however that may change as I make use of the tutorials available. The calendar syncs across with ease and the 'Home' page is an essential tool, giving a clear view of the days appointments and tasks. Much of the software is customisable.

Cons: I am always seeking ways to work 'smarter' and thus save time. I would love it if there was a little more functionality so that I could input information on the Project page that would automatically populate a custom sheet in, say, reports. That would save me a huge amount of time. Being able to see the status of all projects and project history on one page would certainly be helpful to me.

Overall: Without this software it would be a great deal harder to control each of the projects I work on. Every project has a different client base and different suppliers, all of whom can be input into the system. It's the control over information that gives peace of mind.

Pros: It's easy to use daily. Daylite keeps me on track for my day to day tasks. I can customize each customer with specific information.

Cons: The auto correct when searching for a person or company. When that happens sometimes a "new" account or person is created by mistake.

Pros: Daylite is very easy to use. Any time I have needed to learn how to do something I have easy found a video tutorial of how to do it. It's not difficult to navigate and the support team is very helpful!

Cons: Nothing. I love it. I do wish it was compatible with Pc's so that all of our team members could use the desktop version as well.

Pros: How well Daylite and Apple Mail play together is a real strength. Capability to link almost anything. Utilization of the cloud and off line data is awesome feature.

Cons: Limited custom fields for organizations, contacts, opportunities, etc. Custom Fields are designed for only simple text. Report builder designed for computer science majors only. Lack of font size control.

Overall: Could not run my business without it.

Pros: Apart from it being native on a OS X platform, I love the following organised feature that runs my business.
CRM : having my calendar linked with my clients.
Opportunities : having all my quotations to clients organised into one screen.
Projects : having all my projects in one location allows me to see my work flow.

There are tons of feature that Daylite provides and I could hardly go through a day without using it.

Cons: The software could be more graphical like basecamp, but I would choose Daylite anytime because of the functions.

Pros: Makes great use of the Apple OS & iOS systems. If you're on those platforms, why not use a program designed specifically to leverage them?!?

Cons: Only minor issues here; there are a few tweaks I'd like to make, but it's a solid system as it is. Would like an option for changes to some record fields to automatically feed into the history log (i.e. address changes, so you have a historical record of when you changed it etc).

Overall: Works well, easy to network with peers, it's become a key part of how we manage our business.

Pros: Daylite is a fantastic value, with features that cost many times more through other systems. I needed a CRM dedicated for the Mac, and it has really delivered. The cloud syncing function works beautifully; perfect for the frequent traveler. Their tech support is particularly good, with very prompt responses every time I do have a problem.

Cons: I wish it had better reporting functions. The canned reports included are not particularly useful to me. Also wish it could easily print out my daily calendar, since I keep my to-do list and schedule in Daylite.

Pros: It syncs beautifully across all devices. Enables me to have all of the information and interaction with my clients and projects all in one place. The interface with Apple Mail delivers the emails into my projects and that combined with files, notes, appointments, and tasks all being attached to my clients means I am always clear on what is happening with my projects.

Cons: Hard to find anything I like least as Daylite is my go-to software. Its a small thing but it would be nice if the calendar view could be changed so that I could see more of the day on the screen at the same time i.e. it is currently in half-hour increments which can't be changed and I often work in evenings and have to remember to scroll down to see appointments in the evening. Would be good if it was customizable to change the viewing to hour increments.

Overall: Makes my life and work easy to organise and keep up-to-date.

Pros: I enjoy the way the software integrates with Mac Mail, which allows me to associate emails with particular projects. I also like how easy it is to look up contacts that are associated with a project. It's nice to have all of the contact information available at a glance.

Cons: I wish the email functions integrated better with their sister software Billings Pro. Email is the primary method of communicating today, and billing can be based in large part on this type of communication.

Overall: I use this for case management; it easily allows me to easily track all events for a given project.

Pros: The software is easy to use. The customer service team is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I love that they allow you 30 days to test the product. If you are a Mac/iPhone/iPad user, you MUST have this software. It brings everything I use (Calendar, Contacts, and Email) and simply rolls it into one. It's a tremendous value that leverages my time. I LOVE THIS COMPANY! I wish AT&T would take lessons from Daylite -- LOL!

Pros: Ability to master schedule across all resources and personnel, create tasks and task lists, and see what everyone is working on all at once. The Customer Service is always top notch, and responds with insight and options. The ability to link entire teams to events.

Cons: The Price per person per month, it's one of the most expensive monthly subscriptions we have and thats counting higher end professional software like Avid and Protools. So we have to be selective about who can have access. There should be 2 tiers. Once for Mobile read only users, and one for full blown Computer access.

Overall: It's changed how I schedule, which is pretty intense for a studio.

Pros: Easy to use, very intuitive re ticklers, tasks, reports, etc. Since I'd been using an iPhone and iPad for years I thought I'd take a chance and try converting to a MAC, Daylite, etc and I'm glad I did!

Cons: Tough to read the gray details in tasks, something market Circle is addressing I'm told. Activating the arrows in Tasks to advance or rewind the month is a little challenging also.

Overall: I use this every day, 7 days a week (since personal ticklers, etc commonly accessed also)

Pros: The integration to OS /iOS is nearly flawless and well maintained with virtually no downtime. Updates always stay ahead of the curve unlike other CRM solutions. Functionally you could not ask for more: Contact, Calendar, Task, Objectives along with contact history all in one place.

Cons: Index within contacts on iOS (IPhone especially) would be a big plus. Once you have a lot of contacts it's difficult to scroll.

Overall: Unified my goals and task management to move my business forward.

Pros: Daylite is robust but not overly complicated. The customization aspect is excellent. Our team loves using it for a myriad of reasons including - customization of reports, the plugins from IOSxpert - they are fantastic(!), the mobile version on iphone is completely wired in an user friendly, the new team-view features are superb as we are all able to help deliver on tasks and projects when it counts, the user interface is very clean and organized, the calendar integration with iCal and Google is excellent, the smart lists for projects and opportunities are totally functional and help speed up large scale project accessability while connecting team members...and the list goes on. I particularly like the option of dragging up the most pressing opportunities and project to the top tool bar and having them right at my fingertips.

We also integrate Merlin Project into the larger projects and it's compatibility is excellent. There is a bit of learning curve but once our team took the time to dig in and get under the hood of the cross functionality, it only made our project management easier. In fact, I would say that through Daylite, we have come to sell our project management skills and realize this vertical as a profit center for our small company.

Honestly, Daylite is a game-changer. Congratulations on all that you have accomplished and we look forward to continued roll-outs and developments.

Cons: Need to continue improving Apple mail to Daylite and it would be great to have a slack-like messaging component. Probably the biggest 'want' is the ability to output to word and excel in some capacity. Daylite will output to excel in a very limited fashion - it works, but it could be smoother. I realize that this 'ask' would probably require licensing from Microsoft in some capacity and it may be cost prohibitive.

Otherwise, Daylite is a fantastic platform for Apple shops. We have been using it since 2012.

Pros: Daylite helps us to keep all information about a contact in one place. We can have contact information, notes from every conversation, every email communication, every document we have sent, and every opportunity, project or task associated with the client. Daylite has a great deal of flexibility in the ways you can remind yourself about upcoming activities. It helps us keep commitments to prospects and clients.

Cons: We cannot find a way to scan and load contacts into Daylite. We also wish it interacted with Evernote. We also wish that we could create custom reports more easily. Right now, Daylite recommends that we use a partner to create reports.

Overall: Our company has been using Daylite for 5+ years. MarketCircle is great at listening to customers and making updates and changes that are helpful to us. We are an executive recruiting firm and use this software to track clients, candidates, and each position we are asked to fill.

Pros: Feature rich, integrates natively into OSX (including calendars and contacts). Basic features are intuitive and easy to learn.

Cons: There's a lot to this program, and not all of it quite jumps off the page. A more robust setup wizard would be nice, as well as some more preset connections and such for a wider variety of business types (even a searchable repository of these on MarketCircle's website would be great).

Integrations with non-OSX services also leaves a bit to be desired. Zapier functionality is pretty limited, and it can be tough to get that information out of the program into others.

Overall: Organises my business, tracks my calendar appointments, leads, and contacts, and just generally improves the experience of running my business. I've tried law-specific practice management solutions in the past, and Daylite blows them out of the water.

I have been a Daylite user for almost 10 years and they continue to make their product better.

Pros: - the way all my information is linked

Pros: Allows me to store all my contact communications and relationships to me so that I can efficiently respond to any questions as well as send out notices. For example I have a patient category that I can send group communications regarding treatments and government subsidies as well as I can send group emails to other traders regarding our outcomes. The program does a lot to systematize the information provided over the Internet and as such is a very valuable if not essential hub of my business. I am particularly appreciative of the support that I get which includes staff logging on and showing me on my computer what I need to do.

Cons: I have been using Daylite for several years now and have become accustomed to working with it. Difficulties have arisen typically in synchronizing the Daylite database with other programs such as Apple Mail.

Overall: Systematic integration of information technology. Can be used in a variety of circumstances from professional storage information to family documents.

Comments: Daylite manages customers, accounts opportunities with ease. Tightly coupled integration with Apple Mail and calendaring functions make it a seamless product that delivers results. It has depth and many time saving features as result of this tightly coupled nature of the Apple only ecosystem. It is this point where the challenge to Daylite exists, not the product but having the customer convert from a non-Apple platform to a Apple based computing infrastructure. The barriers of cost outside of Daylite are not insignificant, but the good news is that this cost barrier is becoming less over time and most users would be happy to move to an Apple based product.

Pros: Great Opportunity management. Ability to tag specific emails through the Mail Assistant to people, companies and opportunities is one of the greatest strengths Easy to create sales processes Find anything instantly with database wide searching. Easy to integrate with supported 3rd party applications such as bulk mailers

Cons: Single platform support - Apple Only. (Including no Web Portal Interface)

Pros: Daylite has a lot of functionality and wonderful integration. (Our calendar and email integrates with Daylite). We use this software for our customer database. To get the most out of the product, you need to take the tutorials so you can learn how to "tag" customers and create mini databases. For example, if you have a buyer that has bought certain items from you company, you will want to tag that buyer with the name of the item so you can pull up reports. The more you use the tags and connections, the better your reports will be. We find these very useful, but if someone in the office forgets to tag a customer properly, the data is pretty much useless.

Cons: It is not "plug and play". You need to put the work in to understand the functionality.l If you have a "lazy" employee, you might not get the full use of the software

Comments: For a novice, it was difficult to understand how CRM software works. Though the tutorial covers the basic of CRM, many of the steps are based on a previous version of the software, so it was confusing. However, the basics are very logical and easy to follow. I still need to more fully understand the less commonly used features, but I feel comfortable enough with the software to use it on a regular basis for all my CRM needs.

Pros: Consistent interface across the multiple features.

Cons: Using some of the features are restrictive and don't work for me. For example, the choices within the category, type, state, etc. don't provide choices that make sense in the context in which I use them; if there is a way to change them and make them specific to my needs, it was not made clear from the documentation.

Comments: Anymore, there are simply better CRM programs for a Mac. A few years ago, Daylite was the best of the worst. The software and app were full of bugs and complicated tech solutions to ensure data synced. I had this weird bug where my tasks would not delete and Daylite support knew the problem existed for customers but forced people to upgrade to a newer version instead of fixing the bug. It's an overall wonky system for an expensive price, and that was fine 5 years ago but better software and apps now fill the market for CRMs.

The reason your issue wasn't fixed in 4 was that Apple dropped support on the SDK Daylite 4 was programmed in. To submit updates to the app store developers had to use the new SDK which meant a complete rewrite. Daylite 4's development cycle had ended so we can not invest in rewriting it. This allowed us to focus on the newest technologies available and continue to move Daylite in the future. While we still believe this was the right decision we are sorry that you were affected by it. Syncing was a common complaint of earlier versions and why we developed Daylite Cloud. Each server environment was different, and made syncing a challenge. With Daylite Cloud that is a thing of the past as we manage all that for you. If you give Daylite Cloud a shot we are confident you'll be very happy with the updates!

Pros: It is tightly integrated with Apple hardware and software, so it just works the way that you need and expect it to. This is a truly full-featured CRM/project management system/opportunity tracking system that is capable of the configurations, customizations, and integrations of systems that cost 3-4 times as much.

Cons: The blessing and the curse is that it is Mac-only. That makes it able to work as well as you'd expect a native Mac app to work, but it obviously limits your hardware choice and eliminates the possibility of sharing the CRM cross-platform. The performance and stability gains are well worth it in my opinion, but it is nonetheless a limitation.

Overall: My use case: small consulting firm that has been in business for 3 years. We use Daylite for customer relationship management, project & task management, calendar/resource management, as an applicant tracking system for our executive recruitment line of business, opportunity tracking, correspondence, etc.

Prior to using Daylite, we ran the Salesforce platform and if you are willing to commit to the Apple/Mac ecosystem, Daylite is simply so much better than anything else that we have tried for the variety of tasks above. Not only was our previous solution almost 3x the cost, it was much more difficult to use, to customize, and to generate employee buy-in to actually use the system.

Because this is a Mac-only product, it integrates extremely well and any Mac user will find it very intuitive. The data is in the cloud, but the application sits on my machine. This allows for the excellent reliability and off-line usability of a desktop application with the security, standardization, and data-recovery benefits of the cloud.

Obviously, because it is Mac-only, I can't get a seat for one of my partners/contractors unless either they or I am willing to invest to get them into the Apple ecosystem. Not a problem internally for my company, but it is a limitation that can best be described as the blessing and curse of Daylite. I am certain that if it was a web-based or cross-platform software, it would not integrate as tightly and there would be more performance issues. Its not something that I consider a fatal flaw as I am fully invested in the Apple ecosystem, but is a limitation for scalability.

In the few instances where I have had a support issue come up, I'd place MarketCircle's support team right at the top of software support teams that I have ever dealt with. They spend the time necessary to understand the problem, find the solution, and communicate fully and quickly. What more can you ask for?

If you are looking for a small/medium-sized business CRM that (for my use case) far exceeds the usability and functionality of Salesforce at a fraction of the cost, and you are committed the the Apple ecosystem, I cannot recommend Daylite highly enough.

Overall: I've been using Daylite since 2004 and it has been a great asset to our business. Specificity there is no better way to keep track of your relationships.

The only thing we would like to see, is an easier way to track Text Messages.

Comments: We have been using Daylite for all our marketing activities as a CRM and it has been fantastic! Probably the best thing about it is its functionality and features - every company can mould it to its needs and make it as simple or as complex. The only thing that could be improved is customer support, since the company is based in the US, it lacks timely support for Europe-based companies.

Pros: Flexibility, endless set-up possibilities, offline access, task management abilities (keywording is awesome)

Cons: not being able to have activity tasks auto-start at a certain date without setting up a task as a reminder

Overall: I've used Daylite for many years (long enough to remember how excited I was when Daylite Touch came out) and although the set-up took some brainstorming/planning because there is a myriad of possibilities for workflow management, it was well worth the investment. This product is versatile, robust and accommodating. I use it primarily for GTD and project planning for my accounting practice. It is my one-stop shop for organizing my time, tasks and deliverables. The customer service over the years has been improving with its response-times and helpfulness. It was great when I first started using Daylite and has exponentially improved since then. I cannot imagine my practice without Daylite.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is definitely a more steep than average learning curve but well worth it in the end to spend the time.

Comments: In the past I have tried a number of software solutions. I've used other CRM's along with TODO list apps. Daylite allows me to keep everything in one place and basically use just one app for managing relationships as well as email (on my desktop), projects, tasks, my calendar and more. No more jumping from one app to another - it's all here. Basically every bit of information about a client can be linked. The forms and reports are incredibly useful and it's the only CRM I have found that allows me to link and show important items in my Apple Calendar (without having to use Google Calendar.) Now scheduling is a breeze.

Pros: I love the integration. When using the desktop app I can link everything and see the relationships right away. I use it as a smart contact list, a project planner, a reminder system - and even very simple finance tracking. The learning curve has been fairly easy and I have to be honest, I appreciate Marketcircle's videos as well as the user guide when I get stuck.

Cons: The only 'wish list' item I have is for Daylite's mobile app to allow linking incoming emails with contacts and organizations. Other than that I can't think of anything else I want it to do.

Recommendations to other buyers: Daylite is a Mac only app - but if you're a Mac user this is the CRM to take a serious look at.

Comments: We have been using an automated marketing system to generate leads through our online inbound marketing, but the conversion of leads into projects and the management of the delivery of the projects was ad hoc and disjointed. We decided to implement Daylite as most of the consultant base was mac OS users either laptop, iPad or iPhone. The system provides us with a single end to end solution from lead to invoicing and everything in between meaning it is something you find yourself using every day.

Pros: Very easy to use interface and comprehensive collections of data to manage leads out of Sharpspring and then track and manage those leads through conversion, project delivery and invoicing. It provides us with an end to end solution to manage our resources, costs and customers.

Cons: Not all of the team has Mac OS, except on their phones. This becomes a limitation.

Pros: This app is being used to track leads, and tasks associated with the leads.

Cons: Custom reporting is a little difficult to setup, but hopefulyl you have an admin or analyst who will set it, and you wont need to touch it again.

Overall: The app is a great tool for shared colloboration, with an easy to use shared contacts, objectives, calendar and tasks list. For a sales team, this is an excellent tool for keeping all members working off one database. The app syncs a copy locally, so you can work offlien as well.

Comments: Overall, Daylite 6 seems to be just the ticket for our size company and my particular needs. They have a ton of training videos, although I think they are a little to generic. As a first time CRM user, I had a hard time getting my head wrapped around the "what's the first step to take in getting started" part, but since I have been working it for about 8 weeks now it is starting to make more sense. They should do a video entitled, "Here's how to begin using Daylite."

Pros: I like the way it integrates with Mac Mail, Calendar, and Contacts and ties them all together, and especially like the Projects segment, although it too, needs a better tutorial.

Cons: Wish the difference between Tasks and Wordlist items was a little better defined, and the section on Opportunities. Also a way to have better view of "what I've got in the works" would be helpful.... to see it in almost more a calendar, or list view would be good, although maybe that I just haven't gotten there yet. Bottom line is I'm still going month-to-month until I see if this is the one.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it out on the trial and then go month-to-month, it takes a couple months of working with it, getting it all down to really evaluate it's effectiveness for your sales.

Pros: Functionality is great. Able to easily operate for 100 staff members on projects and time management and to manage 10,000 contacts. Direct filing of emails from Apple Mail to client contacts and projects. Great training aids, videos. able to be implemented across diverse sectors of the business.

Cons: The only difficulty is getting staff to keep all contacts up to date.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it with the free 30 day trial and you will find it is great.

Pros: The product is quite configurable and the design is well thought out and creative.

Cons: The software, especially iOS software but Mac included, crashes all too often. The night side is that I have not lost any data due to a crash. Their tech support seems to try to be helpful, but problems seem to take a really long time to get resolved.

Recommendations to other buyers: All in all I recommend trying this out- even with the software bugs, when it works it works very well and is superior to many other CRM software in the market.

Pros: Daylite is extremely fast and responsive, transitioning from a web based CRM to a native CRM on OSX has been a great experience for us.

Cons: The only problem I've had with Daylite in the past is licenses would stop working and that would create problems with other users trying to connect to the database. The problem no longer exists with Daylite 6. The biggest problem I see with daylite is with plugins, you left with having to deal with companies like IOSExpert who make plugins for daylite. This company is based in Germany and rarely responds to support inquiries even being a paid subscriber of the product and a paid support user. Daylite needs to have a list of supported plugins that either they design or sign off with as a complete compatible plugin but as is we're left with dealing with awful support and mediocre plugins from developers like iOSXpert.

Recommendations to other buyers: Download the 30 day trial. I think you'll be impressed with Daylite.

My favorite part is how the e-mail is integrated within Daylite. As I send an e-mail to a customer I am able to save the interaction in Daylite for future reference. It also stores any attachments I might have sent.

Our customer services benefits from intuitive features such as email integration, our projects can easily be streamlined due to the ease of pipeline setups, and we¿re always prepared for upcoming tasks due to the simple calendar setup. Comments: I couldn't run my business without Daylite.

You need to invest some time in the setup phase - there are lots of templates to get you started or help you out - but once you are up and running the program is great.

We use it to store client information, supplier information, file details, documents and dates. All information is available at the click of your mouse - or if I'm out of the office - on iPhone or iPad.

I like the activity sets - these allow you to program in a series of key dates and link them to a client or a file - it is a great risk management tool for lawyers.

The tasks function is something I use daily - particularly the ability to set reminders, delegations, link files etc.

We export Daylite information to our Billings Pro app - it saves duplicating data entry.

We've called on customer service a number of times when we have encountered problems - the support is always prompt (even taking into account time zone differences) and it is clear they are there to get you back up and running as quickly as possible.

If you run your business on Apple then I highly recommend Daylite.

The best Mac OS X CRM on the market. Essential.

Comments: Our office uses Daylite to manage a small law firm. The ability to link projects (matters), people, notes, email, events, and tasks together interchangeably has incredible value. Daylite's biggest value to us is this feature; I can pull up a case and see all people, notes, and events associated with it in a glance. It also makes reviewing a case history very easy, removing the need to search multiple places.

Further, Daylite's improved search feature makes finding specific notes, emails, or client data extremely easy. The learning curve on the software is relatively shallow, so new employees are brought easily up to speed on usage. On the balance, this is great software that has continued to evolve in useful ways over the years.

The only Con that I have about Daylite is that it still requires a physical central server for synchronization. We maintain a firewalled Mac Mini, which admittedly could be outsourced for a monthly fee. However, it would be nice if Daylite cloud materialized, removing the need to keep a server running 24/7 for this purpose.

There's a learning curve, to be sure. When we started with Daylite in 2006, we initially used only contacts and calendar, but we now use almost all of the features. Our income and growth have tripled since we've started with Daylite; far outpacing our industry's average.

Comments: My 2 cents from the perspective of a small Medical Recruitment business:

Pros: intelligent workflow out of the box, comes with decent tools for a small to medium size business environment. Effective team tasking and data syncing. Seems relatively secure and is a stable software platform.

Ample 3rd party development for reports, plugins and such.

Cons: Limited ability to automate the outbound call process (very limited auto-dialer) Cannot link some items (Project to Project, for example).

Comments: I have been using Daylite in my business and personal life for over ten years. This CRM has helped me keep very detailed information about clients, projects while running a complex calendar. Daylite was built for productivity right from the start and that is what attracted me in the first place. The linking of people, projects, opportunities, task, files, notes is the strong point of this software. Being able to link emails within the application and get them out of your inbox for later reference is a huge. This is so helpful having all the info under one client/project or event. Daylite can be a little difficult for people to learn but well worth the investment in learning. Take the trial run for 30 days and I think you will see the value and won't know how you did business without this great tool.

Daylite is very easy to navigate.

Pros: The Calender is so easy to use. I can keep track of not only my calender, but also the calenders of my team mates so I can keep in touch with their schedules when they are out of the office. I really like being able to add all of my contacts and keep them in one place with easy access with my mobile phone.

Cons: Nothing I don't really like, I wish I could learn all that it can do. I get stuck just using the applications I already know how to use.

Recommendations to other buyers: See if you can do a trial period to get used to using it.

Pros: Love that it syncs with all devices and works on Apple.

Cons: Sometimes have syncing issues between devices, and it's not easy to figure out. Wish that tech support had a chat feature.

Recommendations to other buyers: Its one of the few Apple based CRM products. Easy to do as much or as little as you want.

Pros: It's a Mac-based product and is very intuitive and easy to use.

Cons: There are lots of updates. Each time there is an update, I have to manually update each computer, which takes time.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's easy to use. The transition from our old system to this was pretty seamless.

Pros: Daylite makes everything so much easier to find. It organizes everything together for each customer. There¿s a lifecycle for an order. Daylite keeps the whole lifecycle in one place where I can find it, whether I am in the office or in my car. It seamlessly syncs with my mobile devices and computers which is unbelievably helpful. Daylite Mail Assistant is the best function, because I do almost everything by e-mail or phone, and now I can attach the correspondence to the project I¿m working on. I also like that I can add so many things on the fly. I add keywords with the PO number and link it to my customer¿s name and vendor name for whatever item I¿m ordering. I can put the date in for forecasting so I know when I need to order again. Before Daylite, I had to do that manually or write a report in Excel and pick things off a report, which wasn¿t fun!

Cons: I wish the updates for newer versions were less expensive.

Recommendations to other buyers: Use the trial version. If needed, ask for an extension. Ensure the software is compatible with your current configurations/computers/operating software. Get references from current users.

Pros: They provide excellent Video tutorials to help understand how to use the software, which in turn keeps me on track and on schedule with my clients. It also syncs across multiple platforms. I have Daylite on two computers and my iPhone, and regardless of where I enter the information, the data is synced across the platforms.

Cons: There is so much functionality, and I am sure that I am only scraping the surface of its capabilities. I wish I had time to dive into to learn more about the product.

Pros: Daylite is the most sophisticated CRM solution available if you work in an Apple environment. I have been using Daylite for over 5 years and Marketcircle has been committed to continuously develop the platform and connect all mobile devices, making it accessible from everywhere.

Cons: The database server needs more detailed instructions about users and syntonization with Daylite instances on other Mac machines. This has improved over time, but still needs work to make it Apple easy.

Recommendations to other buyers: Evaluate your business process first and document what you are trying to accomplish with a CRM package. Daylite offers different packages for different business scenarios. So, you can concentrate on customizing the setup for your needs instead of worrying about the technical infrastructure.
