### "Plety of space, but you'll lose your freedom."

February 15, 2026

3.0

Overall, I like it. There are a few rough edges, things that can be polished, but it's a solid and mature product. If you don't care about Microsoft's directive to "put your files where I say", it's a good product. But if you prefer to have the freedom to choose, then you'll have to look elsewhere.

Pros

Plenty of space, more than your average cloud-drive provider, at a fraction of the cost, with "goodies" like Office. Integration with Windows. Ransomware protection. Versioning.

Cons

They started limiting the folders you can sync more and more. When OneDrive was born, you were able to sync any folder you liked. Now, you can only sync your user folders. Also, inclusion/exclusion could be better.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing OneDrive

Windows/Office integration, ease of use, features.

Sugarsync can't handle big folders like OneDrive. Also, OneDrive is way cheaper.

### "More than just another cloud based storage service"

June 14, 2026

5.0

OneDrive is an indispensable tool for my field service work, earning a 9/10 for the way it keeps my entire environment—from configuration files to project documentation—seamlessly synced across all my devices. The ability to rely on "Known Folder Move" and real-time versioning means I never have to worry about where a file is or whether I'm working on the latest version while on-site. It’s an incredibly efficient ecosystem that effectively eliminates the friction of managing data manually, though I dock it one point for the occasional aggressive sync behavior and the times it tries to take too much control over my local file architecture.

Pros

The ecosystem by which the files stored, are accessible throughout all devices. OneDrive's greatest strength, especially for someone in technical field service, such as myself, where moving between office desktops, mobile devices, and on-site hardware is common. By tying your files to a single identity rather than a specific piece of hardware, OneDrive transforms your digital environment from stored on this computer to accessible from wherever I am.

Cons

While its not necessarily limited to OneDrive, it'd be nice to have an ability to detect duplicates.

### "The Best File Hosting App for Windows Environment"

April 1, 2026

5.0

One Drive is the best file hosting app for a Windows User and/or organizations that use Microsoft apps. It's easily customizable, very easy to manage access as a user or admin.

Pros

\- Best file management/back up app for companies that use Microsoft Office - Integrated with Sharepoint, access to files is easy to manage by user or admin - For organizations - by default has 1TB storage available for users, can be expanded to 5TB with a correct license - Very affordable - Easy to automate upload from folders you want to back up, buys you a peace of mind to know that if something happens to a machine tomorrow - you just need to sign in to a different machine and files would be there - Available on the cloud and can keep files locally on the machine to save time - Easy to search files you need to find - One of the most stable MS apps, compared to other apps One Drive did not cause any issues for me in the past

Cons

\- MS support is hit or miss. If something happened it's easier to find info online, than asking their support for a help - Honestly, this is the only one

### "Smooth Integration and Dependable Synchronization on Cloud"

May 14, 2026

5.0

Overall, OneDrive is a robust and highly dependable cloud storage solution, particularly for those already entrenched in the Windows environment. It provides a "set it and forget it" experience where file security and accessibility are handled quietly in the background. While the interface for managing shared links could be more streamlined, its performance in backup reliability and cross-device availability makes it a top-tier choice for both professional and personal file management.

Pros

What I liked most about OneDrive is that it is integrated into the Microsoft 365 Suite in a way which allows for smooth syncing of files between Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the use of the "Files On-Demand" function. Thus, access to large quantities of data becomes possible without occupying hard disk space. Real time collaboration as well as auto-saving in Office are excellent features of OneDrive.

Cons

The thing I liked least about OneDrive is that the sync conflicts are resolved by creating copies of the files rather than using a merging feature. Also, the web interface seems to be less responsive when compared to the desktop version. Finally, while the strict timeout of the personal vault provides extra security, it may disrupt the workflow if someone works continuously.

### "Since young age Onedrive has been a companion "

April 16, 2026

5.0

I think that over all my experience with onedrive is absolutely positive and very fruitful, it helped me since college with my files and organising them and sharing them to my own personal life i am storing most of my memories on and i am using it in work now.

Pros

It gives you a reasonable amount of storage to use for free and you can use it in your work your personal life to store anykind of files or media files.

Cons

Actually there's isn't much dislikes about it i think that the only thing is sometimes you feel lost inside it and you can't mark a lot of files together easily if you're filtering some photos or deleting some it will not be an easy task

### "Review of Microsoft OneDrive for Our Construction Business"

December 7, 2025

5.0

Even with the occasional sync delays, OneDrive has been a big improvement for us. It’s helped us stay organized, communicate better, and keep everyone on the same page. The convenience of being able to access everything from anywhere outweighs the hiccups. For construction companies dealing with a mix of office and job site workflows, OneDrive is a pretty good match—especially if you’re already using Microsoft products. As long as your internet situation isn’t a total disaster, the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

Pros

The biggest win for us is how easy it is for everyone to access what they need. Whether someone is on their phone at a job site or at a computer in the office, they can pull up the latest plans or payroll spreadsheets without waiting on someone to email them over. It cuts down on miscommunication and saves time. We also really like the version control in OneDrive. When plans or payroll documents get updated, nobody has to guess which version is the right one. It keeps everything clean and avoids the mess of multiple copies floating around. Sharing files with links instead of attachments has been a big improvement too. Since we already use Microsoft apps like Excel and Outlook, the integration has been smooth. Being able to update payroll sheets in real time has sped up approvals and helped us stay more organized.

Cons

The main downside we’ve seen is that sometimes the sync speed is slow. Updates don’t always show up right away for everyone, which can be frustrating when you’re trying to make quick changes. To be fair, some of that might be on us—our internet in the office and especially out in the field isn’t perfect, and that definitely plays a role. We’ve also seen some issues when people are working off hotspots or weaker connections. When OneDrive is slow, it takes away from the whole “real-time access” benefit we’re counting on.

Frequent slow file syncs and the software integration into our computer systems wasn’t as robust as we needed it to be.

### "Essential Office/Admin app"

May 28, 2026

5.0

I have had a great experience with one drive. It allows me to do some pretty great workflows too by allowing connections with apps so that I can have someone enter a form, it turns into a PDF, and then is automatically filed and organized inside one drive. Being able to access documents anywhere from at work to on my home pc to my phone is amazing. Simple and straight forward, seamless to use with windows.

Pros

Easy to use, integrates with all of our office tools, can access documents from work/home with ease. Cloud storage is great, and allows for file transferring larger than emails

Cons

The share links can be a little tricky sometimes, but work better than any other options. If the cloud went down you'd have to make sure you keep important docs offline

### "L'extension invisible et sécurisée de mon ordinateur"

June 9, 2026

5.0

Une vraie sérénité d'esprit. Je sais que si mon ordinateur portable me lâche aujourd'hui, je peux me connecter sur n'importe quelle autre machine et retrouver instantanément l'intégralité de mes documents de travail à jour.

Pros

### "Great for work files but occasionally slow"

February 23, 2026

5.0

If you work at a company that runs on Microsoft, then OneDrive is the best option for you. With Word and Excel it works perfectly. But it’s going to take a tad longer if syncing your files. For professional work, it's a good solid tool, but for quick and dirty use at home it can be somewhat annoying.

Pros

I use OneDrive every day for work since my employer is all-in on Microsoft’s weapons of choice. It’s incredibly useful to save my Excel sheets and PowerPoint decks.I love the fact that I can begin writing a document on my desktop in the office and then pull it up on my phone when I am out. And it keeps all of my files safe in the cloud so I never have to worry about breaking my laptop.

Cons

But other times the syncing is so annoying. There is a little red error icon and I don’t know what to do with it. Well… Big folders uploading is too slow compared to others.

### "OneDrive for Collaboration"

December 24, 2025

5.0

We enjoy our overall experience with OneDrive, which allows us to access various Microsoft 365 apps. It is reliable, convenient, and has a high cloud storage for our team.

Pros

We enjoy the integrations OneDrive offers, such as Planner, SharePoint, and Forms. We can also file sync across devices and easily and securely share files. It is a helpful tool, great for access, backup, and collaboration.

Cons

The function we enjoy the least is whenever we have to share files with non-Microsoft users, which can be difficult, especially if our audience is non-technical.

### "Makes me look Good, Smarter than me!"

April 1, 2026

5.0

My overall experience has been excellent I would say the best program. Seriously does everything I need. Plus all the shortcuts to learn. Definitely still have a lot to learn on my part in order to use to its full potential.

Pros

So many things you can use it for. I have used it for school, work, personal. I can not only make spreadsheets or invoices, I can keep track of clients contact dates and times. I have used it for school, for flyers, so much I haven't even used that is available. I did purchase for school but have been able to use for much more! I have learned a lot through using excel and its been so easy to figure out! So much storage space too! I have used it for years with no issue. Easy to search within the page as well. Easy to export or import! I am grateful I can access it from most anywhere! What a deal! Still using years later!

Cons

Sometimes makes me resign in or says suspicious sign in or something, also tries to make me buy more stuff.

### "Solid File Storage with a Few Syncing Frustrations"

March 6, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with OneDrive has been positive because it consistently delivers a smooth, reliable way to keep files organized and accessible, but it isn’t without a few rough edges. Day to day, the automatic syncing and tight integration with Windows and Microsoft 365 make it incredibly convenient—documents follow you across devices, collaboration is straightforward, and version history provides peace of mind when you need to roll something back. At the same time, there are moments when large file uploads slow down or syncing gets a bit finicky, which can interrupt the otherwise seamless flow. Even with those occasional hiccups, OneDrive still feels like a dependable, well‑designed tool that makes managing and sharing files noticeably easier.

Pros

OneDrive’s biggest strength is how naturally it fits into your workflow—files sync quickly and reliably across all your devices, and the tight integration with Windows and Microsoft 365 makes saving, sharing, and collaborating feel effortless.

Cons

One thing I liked least about OneDrive is that syncing can occasionally feel slow or get stuck, especially when handling large files or big batches of updates, which interrupts the otherwise smooth experience.

### "OneDrive for Cloud-Based Storage"

April 5, 2026

5.0

OneDrive has been a great resource to store documents and prevent loss of data. There is a small learning curve to using the cloud-based software, but once you learn to navigate how to save files and access, it is streamlined and carries resources from device to device. I use it everyday and can't imagine working without it.

Pros

OneDrive is a great resource to save documents for easy access across devices and teams. We utilize the software across our company, and it has helped us share documents and resources easily, and prevent data loss when things go awry. OneDrive operates very similarly to other cloud based software, and it is a fast learning curve. I use both the extension and actual OneDrive portal through Microsoft across multiple devices with no issue.

Cons

Overall, OneDrive is easy to navigate. However, there is a learning curve to finding it on the device and learning how to save to OneDrive versus just to your device. This is pretty common for cloud-based storage, but it is something in which to be cognizant.

### "Powerful Data Storage Tool"

December 9, 2025

4.0

Really powerful business tool which we incorporated into our day-to-day operation to remove reliance on On-Prem server hardware for data storage, really easy to dictate which files / storage buckets are within scope (e.g. we do not upload / backup Downloads folder)

Pros

Stored files are really easy to access both using the online portal and via desktop using the OneDrive for Desktop app. It is extremely competitively priced within our Microsoft licensing model. Uploading data in bulk is really easy using the online portal meaning files can be stored quickly and efficiently. Managing stored documents is really easy given the built-in search function with the ability to change search scope from specific folders to the whole tenant (whilst obeying the users access permissions / restrictions)

Cons

Fairly niche, but if two users are access the same document at once for editing, and both save, you end up with two versions of the same document which then need to be manually merged. Whilst this is preferable to one person losing data, the duplicate file has the machine name suffixed to the end (i.e. Document-MyMachine.docx) which could be a data privacy concern.

### "The Highest Height of File Applications "

December 26, 2025

5.0

My experience has overall been very pleasant. Onedrive is the one shared file application that I have used and I could not imagine using another form of app.

Pros

I am not the most tech savy when it comes to files. Thus, having a easy, simple, organized and efficient network is very important to me. It excels in network sharing (especially when we consider the amount of space that is available to you). Whether, its scanning, uploading, transferring, editing or examination: all my files are in good hands.

Cons

My least favorite features is the shared docs interface. I wish there were options to delete from our history or drive dos that were shared with us. I also wish there were ways to clean up the interface.

Cons

### "OneDrive Pros and Cons!"

December 1, 2025

4.0

We use OneDrive with over 600 employees. When we upgrade computers, OneDrive allows us to move the employees desktop shortcuts and files with them. This make the transition more productive.

Pros

The ability to backup your files for everyday usage and have access to them if using or switching to another computer is great. It normally comes with 1tb of storage depending on the version. It is easy to use. If you can log into your outlook email, you can log into OneDrive. It also works in conjunction with other Microsoft products such as Office, Teams and SharePoint.

Cons

Your storage amount is based on what tier service you are subscribed to. The basic includes 1tb for free.

### "Great tool, unsure of its full potential"

January 8, 2026

4.0

It has been a useful tool for me, and store almost all of my work in One Drive. Although I use it, I don't think a lot of my team members utilize it to its full extent.

Pros

I love that it brings files and workspace into one area where everyone can collaborate and update documents together. I really like the autosave function.

Cons

After granting access to a folder for other team members, it is unclear to me if they only have access to those files within the folder, or if they can then back track to other files I don't want to share with them.

Overall, it has been a fantastic and essential service for me and my department's needs every single day. File storage, data sharing, live documents, etc.

Pros

I absolutely love the accessibility of my data from anywhere I need it from, whether it's at home, out in the field, or from desk to desk at the office.

Cons

### "Solid Performance and Practical Utility for Every Digital Workspace"

April 28, 2026

5.0

Overall, OneDrive offers excellent Value for Money, particularly for those who need a reliable "set it and forget it" solution. The File Upload process is stable even with larger batches, and the platform provides a cohesive environment for keeping digital files organized. It’s a solid, dependable workhorse for anyone who wants their data available everywhere without having to micromanage the background processes.

Pros

The strongest selling point is the Ease of Use. Because it integrates directly into the file explorer, Document Management becomes a passive task rather than a chore. I also found the File Transfer speeds to be consistently high, allowing for quick transitions between local work and cloud accessibility without the typical "syncing" anxiety.

Cons

The entry-level Storage tiers can feel a bit narrow if you handle high volumes of media or large data sets. Additionally, while the automated help articles are extensive, getting a direct response from Customer Support can sometimes feel like a bit of a scavenger hunt when you have a specific, technical edge case.

### "OneDrive is Easy to Use and Works Well"

November 17, 2025

3.0

OneDrive has been okay. It does it's main functions but there is much room for improvement. Resource usage has been much better but from an end-user POV, it is frustrating when you are waiting for things to sync.

Pros

OneDrive is great at backing up files and creating links to files that are hosted in the cloud. It's desktop agent keeps files in sync. File uploading in the browser our from the agent is easy.

Cons

OneDrive does not have the ability to only sync certain files. This would be very helpful when you libraries are extremely large. This would help the end user manage file versions within an organization.

### "Great storage & sharing application for businesses"

April 30, 2026

5.0

Overall it's a very good solution for businesses as it's included in all M365 susbcriptions and is natively integrated with every other M365 application. Plently of storage space for the majority of end users. There is a little confusion between OneDrive and SharePoint however. Its also very nice to be able to use either the web application or desktop app. The web application being signficantely faster and generally more accurate.

Pros

Its nice that it's included in most M365 subscriptions and allows files storage and sharing. Can store the majority of file types which is nice (documents, pdfs, audio, video, images, etc.). Available as a web application and desktop application that integrates into Windows Explorer or macOS Finder. Like the ability to easily share files with internal and external people via invitation or share link.

Cons

When using the OneDrive Desktop app, sync conflicts and issues are frequent. Files sometimes get stuck in sync pending state. There's also a Windows 260 character file path limit with OneDrive which if you have a deep nesting structure, can be a problem. Most end users also confuse OneDrive and Sharepoint all the time and/or don't know the difference.
