The product is reliable, efficient, and easy to manage. The quick support response and helpful remote sessions make it very convenient to troubleshoot and learn new features. Pros NAKIVO Backup & Replication is very easy to use and has a clean interface. The support team is very responsive — they even provide remote assistance when needed. It also supports immutable backups, and the VM backup compression works really well, saving a lot of storage space. Cons So far, I haven’t found any major issues. However, it would be great if the real-time replication setup process could be simplified even more for new users. Also, when the backup folders are encrypted, it becomes difficult to identify which VM each folder belongs to. Robust security (immutability enabled/installed within onboard repository but can also be deployed to other repositories. Very easy integration with Hardware Deduplication platforms (Dell PowerProtect DD & HPE StoreOnce). Can be deployed to NAS system , VMware Virtual Appliance, Windows and Linux. It has a broad interoperability support on Windows and linux distributions. I also love that same console can be used for Infrastructure Backup and Microsoft 365 Backup. Cons I can't find something to state here because everything run smoothly and without errors or misconfigurations. VM's are priced per socket, etc. Pros Ease of use and functionality, fantastic product that runs and doesn't fail. Easy to backup and restore VM's and you can also store your backups on various media such as NAS, USB, AWS (3-2-1) and also enables you to run your OWN backups of your OFFICE 365 mailboxes and One Drive data. Cons The product is stable and seldom needs to be supported by the vendor but they MAKE you pay for support on ALL licenses (in retrospect) as soon as you want to buy more licenses! I went a whole year without support as I was more than confident of the product, only to be told that I have to back-date support if I want any more licenses! Rather irritating given the stability of the product!! I have worked with a lot of newer companies in my almost 25 years in Technology. They get the relationship value, and they seem to really understand their process - they are partners, not just sales. I cannot over state the value of that mindset in today's world. Pros The Nakivo Sales and Engineering teams were excellent to work with. Patient, answered all of our questions and continued to provide support, extended test licenses, throughout our process. Never once were they pushing for a sale - just helping us explore our needs. The service itself was quite intuitive and had all of the features were were looking for. Our differentiating factor, was a feature set that was outside the scope of the back up solution. Cons The only thing that came up in testing, was direct support for tape libraries - but we are a bit of a special case when it comes to that. This was not a direct impact to our decision. The Nakivo system interface is user-friendly and quick to learn, it has good features for example efficient backups, good encryption and fast recoveries. Nakivo has increased our data protection and reduced downtime. The only area that might need some improvement is reporting, but overall, the system performance, cost-effectiveness and included features makes it the best solution for our backup requirements. Pros Nakivo's user-friendly interface and simplicity are the biggest highlights. It streamlines our backup management with quick setup, efficient incremental backups, and instant recovery, while keeping the impact on our system low. It is very cost effective, and the robust data protection makes it a great choice for small to medium businesses. Cons I think the main downside is the limited customization in reporting, which could be more detailed and flexible. Expanding support for a wider range of platforms would also benefit the product. The price is not high, so it's worth trying before you go for much more expensive solutions (and not necessarily better ones). Pros An important feature is that the application can be installed on NAS devices (I use Synology), which is quite rare. This gives the possibility of completely separating the Backup infrastructure from the production infrastructure that we are securing. Cons It sometimes has hiccups (hangs a little bit), which slightly reduces the user experience.
