Pros: When posting job openings, Indeed allows you to be very specific about your minimum criteria for the position. It then gives you a breakdown of how each candidate matches against the criteria, which can save you some time sorting through various resumes. Indeed also allows you to be very specific about your monthly spend, which is important as you are charged a base fee for each candidate who applies for the position. One you reach your maximum spend for the month, Indeed automatically pauses your posting so that you do not go over budget. Its email and scheduling capabilities make it easy to set up interviews with candidates you feel are qualified for your open position.

Cons: Indeed has a large variety of options and filters available when posting a new position, which means you will probably spend a lot of time both setting up and maintaining your job posting. If you choose not to thoroughly set up your posting, you will receive a lot of applicants who are not specifically qualified for your open position, which means additional time sorting through resumes and communicating with applicants. While many of the process are automated, Indeed still requires someone to invest a significant amount sorting through resumes and cover letters.

Overall: If your company does not have a lot of job openings on a regular basis, Indeed can be a very cost effective recruiting tool in lieu of hiring a full time staff member. The more time and money you are willing to invest in the application, the more beneficial it can be for your recruiting efforts. It is definitely a solid platform for reaching a larger pool of applicants for your position opening.

Pros: This software has become the norm for most people in the vast majority of professional and technical fields, but also has branched out to the retail and service sectors. The ease of use for the person seeking employment and the ability of hiring personnel to navigate to those people who fit criteria for their openings is second to none. Indeed allows people who are unfamiliar with constructing a resume to create a basic format and also allows those with existing CV/resumes to upload them along with cover letters. Once uploaded, they can quickly be altered as time changes the information. Many companies allow a direct application via that uploaded information and the remaining companies direct the potential job candidate to the application on the website for the corporation. Indeed also allows individuals who are talent acquisition specialists to send messages to people who are on indeed to determine if a possible interest in a position might be possible.

Cons: Talent acquisition individuals can sometimes not recognize that they have already been directed to an individual and repeat an invitation to apply for a specific position. The only other issue I have found is that people without a resume who use the Indeed builder do not always recognize the need to update their information because they are not prompted.

Overall: I have used Indeed both as a job seeker as well as a person looking for talent to add to a team. I find that even with the tiny issues, it is a fantastic first stop for reaching out for most mid-level and entry level positions, technical programs, and service/retail jobs. The ability to mark corporations that peak an individual's interest for the future coupled with the conversation ability with the hiring team makes this the most obvious source for acquiring new employees or locating a new job.

Pros: The amount of prospective candidate is higher than any other source, and the response time for posted ads is immediate.

Candidates are aligned to the requirement of the postings, and are actively looking for jobs, and updating their information often.

Cons: I don't see many cons, the only one I could mention is the steep price, it is way higher than any other provider, but it also provides the best results.

Overall: We have been using indeed to gather candidates for the past 3+ years and we have had amazing results, we have experienced immense growth using the tools the indeed provides and have been able to painting our growth for the past 3 years.

Have used and referred others to this app/site since 2012, best job search app by far.

Pros: I really like the ability to easily customize what you are searching for as far as employment opportunities go. Prior to starting my own e-commerce business/after my enlistment in the military I have used Indeed to find 3/5 of the jobs I've had during that period. The algorithms do an excellent job of providing relevant job opportunities based on data provided through the website and what I assume is data collected on users via Google. The email recommendations are honest as well, using the data to quickly give those searching for jobs the ability to see how well any particular posting matches what they are looking for and updates very well over time (e.g. 3 years ago it recommended mid-level management positions for companies specializing in data collection, sales, and customer service - Now it recommends contractual/work from home/marketing management positions despite me not having given them any additional indications of life changes), this is the primary reason I will never unsubscribe from Indeed's email subscription. The ability to apply quickly when you are searching via a mobile device without having to copy your entire resume on an external website and ai filtering of potential employees for the employer are beneficial on both ends, saving time for both parties making the service desirable for both parties that are needed to maintain continued success in this industry.

Cons: Unfortunately, although out of your control, it would be much more convenient if every job posting allowed for the quick apply feature, as mobile internet use is increasing year by year while desktop use is on a similar decline. It would also be nice if there were more options to customize the recommendations you receive. Although as I mentioned the Algorithms do a great job, it would be nice if I could input very specific criteria of job recommendations that are more applicable to those searching for contracted work. For example, I am looking for small to mid size businesses in a specific radius with a population around 600,000 who are looking to optimize their online marketing budget and/or altogether create an e-commerce/online marketing revenue stream. There may be ways to do this that I am unaware of, but if that's the case it should be easier to locate the page within the domain or application to set something like this up.

Overall: At the moment, none. I used Indeed briefly when I was managing a data collection call center but other than creating the initial posting I left most of this work to the HR department. We posted the exact same job description on Craigslist as well and I anylized the productivity numbers of the employees we found through Craigslist and Indeed and the employees we found from Indeed had a much higher retention rate and on average outperformed the employees hired from Craigslist to an extent that justified the cost of continuing to use Indeed, which was quite low to begin with, but when you are already dealing with a high volume/low margin type of business every dollar counts. (Note: I did not "switch" from another product, but I have used many of Indeed's competitors and Indeed is the only one that I have recommended because it is miles ahead of the competitors)

Pros: Indeed is one of the leading job search and career advancement tools available. The web site is well organized and easy to navigate. You can search for jobs based on the title or description and narrow the search to specific geography. Once the job lists come up, you can extend the search to related positions using the titles in the jobs which are presented.

Applying to jobs listed on Indeed is easy because links are provided with each job post which enables you to apply directly via Indeed, or direct you to the employer's careers page on their website.

In addition to job postings, Indeed has a large portfolio of career-related resources which help you to prepare for and execute your job search. There are helpful articles about resumes, cover letters, interviewing and other job search topics.

Another key element of the service Indeed provides is for employers. Indeed makes it easy to post an open position and provides employers with guidance on how to create effective job postings. The information employers receive about online applicants enables employers to quickly screen candidates and narrow their search to the best qualified.

Our organization has used Indeed on many occasions and defer to it for our hiring and recruitment requirements.

Cons: I can't think of anything I don't like about Indeed.

Overall: In a word, Exceptional! Easy to use and effective. Nothing more to say.

Pros: What I liked most about this was that I could send questions to the applicant and if they could not answer those questions, then they would not be considered as an applicant. For the role we were hiring for, it was imperative that each candidate met that criteria, we did not want to waste our time or theirs skimming through all those pointless applications. If you dont meet our needs, you are not considered.

Cons: The only thing I did not like and it was actually a BIG DISLIKE is that I was only able to send just one aptitude test - just one!!!! That was extremely frustrating considering we needed to thoroughly pre-screen before bringing people in to interview. Because of this, we wasted so much of our time with people coming in to interview who truly were not a credible candidate. Most would lie on their resumes, or the questions we sent. So sending a test would help us to see if they met even the smallest of requirements. If we felt they cheated the test or were nervous and just tested poorly, we could not offer them a second chance to redeem themselves or allow us to further evaluate the candidates capabilities. We would have to bring them in and waste all of our time. One Indeed Rep reccommended we purchase a software that allowed us to do those types of extra screening! Seriously? This is literally what you pride yourself on and you are telling me to go elsewhere for that service. I am/was dumbfounded that Indeed was lacking in that department, but not even by a little but A LOT! We were able to eventually hire someone but we had to go through so many under qualified candidates first. I honestly cannot say if we will use Indeed again because of this very thing. If we have to go elsewhere and pay for it, then why even consider Indeed again?

Overall: It was okay, I am happy with the end result, it was the process of getting there that could have been simplified.

Pros: I have used Indeed countless times when I was searching for a job in my field. The ability to have a focused search on Indeed is one of the outstanding aspects of this software. Finding a job can be difficult, especially if you have a specialty and you aren't just looking for any old dish-washing job. What I like most about the software is that it focuses on quality jobs, it shows you where it is located, how to apply, and when to apply by. I think that this is essential when searching for employment. If a search option shows jobs that are unrelated or not applicable to what you have searched, then you end up wasting time as a job hunter and that can be frustrating and useless. With indeed, you know that when you are searching, you are going to get the closest answer possible. I also like that there seems to be a good filtering process for getting scams off of the website. When using several other search engines, I have noticed that their software doesn't account for jobs that aren't real, are scams, are unpaid internships, or are weird jobs where you only get paid in lunch or something like that. I know with indeed that I am using software to find myself a real and permanent position.

Cons: I do not have a huge amount of negatives. If there was a way to streamline putting in your information that would be a more helpful part of the software for me. I would also like to be able to see some background about the company directly on the website, that way I can judge for myself if they are good enough to apply to. Or maybe have people rate them or show the average pay? I am not sure, however more info to me is always best when applying for jobs. Even when I am looking for short part time work outside of my self employment I like to do this.

Overall: Overall, my experience with Indeed has been very positive. I am able to use their software to have focused searches for employment, while not being bombarded with scammers and underpaying positions. I can really appreciate that now given how wide the internet has become, and how much "fake news" and "fake jobs" are out there.

Pros: Indeed makes it simple for employers to post a position - you can simply follow the prompts and your job post is live in minutes! You can choose to post the position for free or you can sponsor the posting to increase its visibility. Indeed will give you a guesstimate of the amount you should spend sponsoring the job posting to get the best results.

You are able to track the status of applications right in the candidate's profile. Since you can add multiple members of the hiring team to the employer's account, they can review candidates, request interviews and add interview notes right to the candidate account. You can create email templates for efficiency.

This is a great place to keep unified records of the recruiting and interviewing process!

Cons: I would love to see a notification/indication if a candidate has previously applied for the same role or another role within the company.

I would also like to be able to assign different posts to specific team members - for example, we had some hiring managers that did not log in regularly (or had to be prompted to do so) - but if we could assign 'Review' tasks to specific members they could potentially receive notifications for outstanding to-do's.

I would also like to see the ability to add custom statuses to an account, for example, when a request for an interview has been sent "Reviewed" doesn't indicate that the request is complete and we're waiting for a response, but "Phone Interview" implies that you've heard back and a phone interview is scheduled. Having some other options would help the Recruiter at a glance.

Overall: Overall, we were very pleased with our experience hiring on Indeed. There are many features available that are found in much more expensive software solutions and it beats trying to track candidates in a spreadsheet!

Pros: I have been using Indeed for a year now to find either a professional job/internship or part-time/student jobs. The platform is extremely easy and simple for everyone to use. It only took me a few minutes to register and start looking for a job on the search engine. What I like most about Indeed is you do not necessarily have to add/send your documents (e.g., CV, Certificates) every time to different companies. It will keep your documents stored and ask you if you want to change something before every submission. I use Indeed almost daily because you can see a lot of new job offers every single day. Some of my personal experiences on Indeed: I have found my internship in a big company with the help of Indeed. Also, when I started doing my master in a foreign country, I easily found a part-time job on Indeed to cover some of my monthly expenses.

Cons: There are few things that I would like Indeed to improve. As a foreigner living in Germany I use the German version of the website which does not allow me to switch the language from the country's official language. Since there are many international people living in different countries, I believe that Indeed should give us options of languages to choose instead of forcing us to use the website in the language of the country that we are living in. What I also do not like so much about Indeed is it sometimes keeps showing a job offer too long. I have had some experiences in which I applied for a job and they replied to my submission saying that they have already hired someone for the position I was interested in.

I use Indeed daily for job searching and exploring the job market for my clients.

Pros: I love that Indeed allows an in depth search in the job market. I work as a job developer helping people find work, and with all the unique job goals I love using Indeed. It is updated hourly, allows you to use key words, really hone in on what is competitive and available in the job market. I also love the advanced search options, it really helps narrow in on what i'm specifically looking for.

Cons: I don't like that Indeed allows recruiters to post staffing agency things. This clouds up the market as we only look for permanent and direct hire positions. I also don't like that things stay on for 30+ days. At that point, usually the positions are filled.

Overall: It helps me find the perfect opportunities for my clients to apply to in a quick and easy way.

Hi Sophie, thank you for sharing your wonderful feedback with us! We are so happy to hear you've had such a great experience while using Indeed! In addition, you can filter out staffing agencies by using our Advanced Search, www.indeed.com/advanced_search. At the bottom of the page select "Exclude staffing agencies". Lastly, if a job appears on Indeed this means the employer has actively posted the job themselves and should mean that they are hiring for the position. If you have come across an ad that is no longer hiring please contact our team directly at capterra@indeed.com with more information so we can further assist. We wish you continued success in your job search!

Pros: Posting on Indeed is simple and sponsoring jobs is a quick process. Most of the candidate communication can happen through the system. Customer service has always been available to help improve a job post or offer suggestions to increase applications. They have also added a hiring event option to share your hiring event directly with candidates which has been a great addition to my account.

Cons: Job postings are not picked up by Google Jobs so it is important to post positions on other job boards or make sure your career page allows for Google to index your positions. Costs can be high depending on the positions.

Overall: Overall, Indeed is still an important piece of any recruitment plan especially as they add additional technology .

Pros: 1. Normally, mainstream job boards has the candidate's resume with all the information you need, but for this tool you have minimal information and requires. You to firat aend an email prior to getting contact details if that person is interested. Which I think is very unique with this application. It makes it, it's advantage because you get to really know whose candidates are intereated and will take time to speak with you over the phone.

2. Very easy to use, there is an option on the candidates list that a side pop up shows whenever you try to put the cursor with the candidate's name a brief description of their work history. It will give you an idea of wjat is the recent employment of this person and if it is relevant with your choice

3. You can send email all at once from main page, just click on the tick box

4. Its a mix o f commercial, light industrial up to IT/Healthcare / engineering.

5 saved searches for resume alerts

Cons: 1. The only thing I dont like much with this app is it's response time. When one candidate selected to opt in and interested qith the poaition you have emailed them with, it will take 30mins to 45 minutes before you receive the. Response. Overall

Overall: Overall, great tool for sourcing and perfect application for reach out and and how you gauge these interested candidate.

Pros: As someone who's been an applicant and has acted on behalf of the hiring manager, I have to admit Indeed is the cream of the crop when it comes to the American Job Search Engine. As an applicant, Indeed seems to have the largest and most current job listings with specific keywords/titles/salary/location requirements that I need and demand. It's also an incredible resource to view company salaries and employee reviews - all in one platform. With customizable emails, it's also super helpful to receive daily/weekly jobs, namely jobs specific to you and your tastes. While Indeed has not been my exclusive path to career success, it has had the most impact on my hiring.

Cons: As for cons... these typically come about when acting as the individual in charge of handling the online indeed account for the company. You can't beat the features and benefits of Indeed, but occasionally you'll list a position for a set number of days, with a budget, and it's possible you still receive beyond minimal applicants. And a number of those that do, do not have the experience the position requires despite the required/preferred application questions. Many of the times this has happened we have asked for a refund since the only real use we received as the company was the visible post, not viable applicants. However, CS cannot/will not sympathize with the lack of success with your job posting. Which, I understand as a business trying to make money, is ultimately a waste of time and money on our end.

Pros: As a recruiter, I have used Indeed for the most part of my career. It is the #1 website or tool almost everyone goes to when trying to find a job. I love that they have a resume search database. With unemployment being at an all time low, active applicants have dwindled down. I also like that we can incorporate our own screener questions in the application page before the candidate can submit their resume.

Cons: Once, in my early career with a different company, I made a mistake with a job posting - instead of specifying a job as full time, I had mistakenly chosen commission. I thought that I had unchecked that box but looks like I didn't. Indeed supposedly doesn't support commission only jobs (although I have seen countless posts). So they took my posting down and my account was "blocked" from future postings. Although they said a representative will reach out to me to solve the issue, they never did. It took me more than 2 weeks to finally get the problem sorted out. But that was a while ago and I have had no problem since then.

Overall: Overall I would say the experience is positive. I still rely on Indeed for my job postings and have had quality candidates come through

Pros: Indeed is probably one of the easiest forms of job hunting there is. The fact that it's accessible from your phone, and from your computer, is awesome. What I like the most about Indeed, is that you are able to communicate with potential employers/employees through the website itself. Rather than having to sort through your personal email in order to find an email from a specific employer/employee, Indeed provides you with an email system, within the system. Keeping all of your conversations between potential employers/employees organized in one place.

Cons: The only thing I do not like about Indeed, is that you are not able to apply to all jobs from the website. Which is probably not even Indeed's doing. That may be due to the policy or desires of a particular company who is seeking employees.

Overall: On a personal note, I got my last job through an application I submitted on Indeed. Throughout the years, I have been involved in the hiring process at work. We utilize two forms of employee applications. One being traditional paper applications and resumes, and the other being Indeed applications and resumes. Quite frankly, I prefer the Indeed applications for the sake of legibility and documentation. Having an online source for applications gives you a greater sense of security in knowing that you wont lose an application, and you do not run into the issue of someone having poor penmanship . Which, in my experience, has lead to individuals not getting a job. There is something about "ugly" handwriting that turns some employers away, despite the actual qualifications of an applicant. Indeed takes that away, and It's nice.

Pros: I like most that it prescreens applicants based upon criteria that I choose initially. I am no longer getting completely irrelevant candidates for positions. It is also user friendly and I am finding more candidates with Indeed resumes already uploaded into the system.

Cons: Sometimes suggested applicants do not meet the distance criteria we are looking for. We would rather not hire outside of the city as commuters face greater challenges making it to work on time in the winter here.

Pros: It is very organized and streamline. It is easy to see which applicants you still have to review, candidates you scheduled interviews for, and candidates you do not want to consider.

Cons: The applicants do not always meet the standards of the company. They do have questions that you can ask the candidate to answer to screen them, however the candidate would often answer yes to the screening questions but then they would not have that experience on their resume.

Overall: Indeed has dramatically cut the amount of time I look for potential employees. We always get an abundant amount of applicants. I am able to flag the applications I am interested in. I am also able to easily decline applicants that do not fit the job description and I can also set up an email to be sent to them automatically that they do not fit our company's current needs.

Pros: I found that the most important factor in using a job ad platform is the users. And Indeed is where people are gravitating to. It's where companies are posting to. Sort of like the chicken and the egg issue. If nobody is posting jobs then people aren't visiting the site. If not one is visiting the site then nobody is posting jobs. Indeed has been able to get their food in the door and find the momentum to make it an effective jobs finding platform.

It's got all the minimalism of Craigslist while being more professional. And it doesn't have the bloat that LinkedIn, Workopolis, or Monster has.

The interface is clean and simple to use. And it's focused. No newsletter or social networking hook-ins or newsfeed.

For the employer side, I found the price to be the best bang for your buck. If you're looking to hire someone asap and not have to deal with fussy menus or features, Indeed is where you should be looking.

Cons: Though I enjoy the simple design, I sometimes miss some more precise search functions found on other sites. But I guess you can't have it both ways.

The regular reminders to pay for the promoted listings can get annoying but I don't find them as offensive as other junk mail reminders.

Overall: You don't need fancy advertisements or podcast endorsements like the big brand name players. Indeed gets the job done by helping you find the right job quickly while allowing employers to effectively use their money to access a large pool of job-seekers.

Pros: It is pretty straightforward to use, I receive most of my applicants and hires from it, but it's only good not great.

The email relay function is convenient, and the canned responses for replying to applicants is quite nice and saves a lot of time. I am able to easily post a job, set my specific requirements for employees, and then just review over applications and resumes as they come in. I get notified when applicants are in, and I can quite easily sort through to pick who passes to the next step. A free posting will generate some applicants, and sponsoring is guaranteed to give you a higher quantity of applicants.

Cons: Indeed has two sets of users, but one customer. The two users are the Employees and the Employers. But, the Employer is their customer who pays. Indeed has to try and satisfy both in somewhat of a balance. One problem that arises from the employer's view is that the applicants are not always great quality. Indeed helps employers automatically match their skills and resumes to job postings that are already out there. This may be great for the employee side of things, but what that means for employers is that you receive a lot of applicants from people who did not actually know they were applying specifically for that job. However, I understand why Indeed does this. So this means that the response rate for applicants can be low, or that they are actually not interested in the job after they have "applied." For example, I can have 20 new individuals in my list labeled "applicants," but not all of them actually applied specifically to my job. So the moment I send them a message asking a tiny bit of additional info, the response rate can be very low.

Overall: I continue to use it and it gets the job done, but it's not as great as I would have hoped.

Pros: There are some pretty obvious reasons to use Indeed, in my opinion. The thing that I like most about this software is that almost every company is on it, which makes it easier to reach more employers. The best thing I like about Indeed is that it keeps my resume online and I can download it as a PDF or I can send the link or even connect my Indeed resume to some employer's applications. I also enjoy the fact that there are One-Click job options and options for temporary work, stuff like Uber or Bouncing in bounce houses with children. This is the best place to find a job. It is the most professional and safe way.

Cons: I have been scammed on Indeed before. Someone told me that they had a job for me and sent me a fake check and told me to cash it. Also, there are no picture or video options on the applications, which LinkedIN uses a more Social media approach to the job search. Please keep indeed professional and don't make it a social media site!

Overall: Overall, I would not choose any other job search site of Indeed. I switched over from SnagAJob and I never liked Monster or the other job search sites. This one has the most relevant, REAL jobs, at least most of the time. It still is easy to use and they do offer categories for searches, including full time or part time, and also the distance of the jobs. There could be more options added, possibly, to help people connect to the right work. I feel it is still tiresome no matter what. I don't like having to fill in APPS when I sent a whole resume.

Pros: Website is fast and very easy to use, and for the most part the ads are kept to a minimum. Indeed has their customer account setup pretty well, and it's easy to find what you are looking for. Their resume upload feature works pretty well and gets ALMOST everything right, but only if you are using a text-based resume. I like to jazz mine up with a simple image here and there, which it doesn't like at all. The process of creating and adding to that resume is also done well. Applying to a job is very quick and easy too, and I love the follow-ups from them about interviews and feedback.

Cons: When I first started using the site, before it caught on, I almost felt like it wasn't legitimate given its overly simplistic design. I haven't used them in a few months, so that may have changed, but there is something to be said about being TOO simple and easy to use. It could use an upgrade with some modern AJAX features to make things more intuitive. One other thing is that their job search features need work. Searching for computer or IT related jobs gives you ANYTHING that has the word computer in it, which is basically everything.

Overall: I've used this site both for finding a job, and then later down the road, hiring for positions too. I prefer them to the other monster job sites out there that are VERY bloated, but Indeed could use some more modern features and updated search functions. That said, I can't complain about the results - I found a great job AND some great hires from them too!

Pros: Indeed is very user friendly and is an excellent tool when searching for a job. It is extremely easy to customize your search to include geographic location, commute time, salary, education, etc to make your search suit your current needs. Most mid-size to large employers utilize Indeed when searching for candidates. There is a large database of open positions. It also has apps for the phone which are user-friendly and make looking for a job as easy as possible. There is even a capability to apply with one click of a button once your resume is uploaded to Indeed. Looking for a job is sometimes a frustrating process, but Indeed makes it simple.

Cons: I don't have anything negative to say about Indeed.

Overall: I have personally used Indeed when applying for jobs. It is very simple to use. I used the phone app as well as regular website and found both to be helpful and easy. When searching for jobs, I used Indeed daily and always found new jobs to apply for. I found two of my last jobs through Indeed so I am a very happy user!

Pros: Indeed made job finding much easier. I took a few days before looking, then one night put in more applications than necessary. Employers were able to message me directly through Indeed and I was able to view and respond straight from my email. The one random night I pulled an all night job search, by the next morning I had 3 interviews (via phone) lined up before 10am, and then 2 in person interviews to follow. I was hired right after by an amazing employer. This has helped me so much.

Cons: They have some listings with inaccurate information. Some of the listings were under "work from home" when it was not. They also have a good bit of outdated information. It was almost too easy to apply to certain jobs but later I found out that I had to go to that employer's website to finish the application. Also, when searching for different jobs, somehow my location would be inaccurate. I've also noticed that not all my messages would send properly, and by the time I sent out another, the first message would send out multiple times, along with a new message.

Overall: Indeed helps find work for those looking so easy. From my employers experience, it was the best way to find the appropriate candidates and filter through those who were not qualified. Indeed would mark certain resumes and applications that matched the best to pin to the top of t he list and the ones that didn't match to go to the bottom making finding new employees easier for them.

Pros: We've tried many other job sites. Most of them require you to pay something just to post a job and may require you to pay more to get decent exposure. Indeed is free to post a job on and you can still get tons of applications (good candidates too) without paying for it. In fact, I have had job postings on Indeed and other sites for the same job at the same time, and I will always get far more applications on Indeed than the others, even when I'm paying for the others and not paying for Indeed! In fact, many of the applicants on the other sites that I'm paying for are the same ones applying for jobs on Indeed. I should mention I have been posting for a company of about 100 people, so we usually have some kind of position open. I just don't even bother with the other sites. Aside from all that, I haven't mentioned how easy Indeed is to use, how it has automated review assessments, company overview pages, and job listing widgets you can embed into your company's careers page. There's just no reason to bother with the other sites, really.

Cons: If you do decide to run a paid ad, it's easy to burn through dollars without accomplishing much. I think Indeed needs to work on their paid promotions part of the website. But 99% of the time we don't need to use it.

Overall: Indeed is how we recruit. Period.

Pros: I Love Indeed! Indeed has been my primary tool in recruiting for my entire career. Indeed has the largest data base of resumes and the largest platform which attracts most valuable candidates. The Indeed platform is VERY easy to use and navigate. You can upload a job description/job posting within minutes and receive resumes right away. Everyone I know uses Indeed in their job search and probably the main reason why we receive so many resumes so quickly. The candidate pool on Indeed is very good and we always receive qualified candidates which shows what kinds of public they attract. Lastly Indeed also has the ability to generate emails for you with custom replies that save the recruiter time and still allow them to give each candidate a well deserved response.

Cons: I do not have anything that I dislike about the software. I have used it for over eight years and will continue to do so.

Pros: 1. You can search for various jobs based on keywords, locations, Industry.

2. You can create job alerts, that keep you posted for latest jobs posted.

3. You can pre-process the candidates by posting pre assesments with the posted job.

4. Easy to apply with quick apply options.

5. Offers premium services to quickly process the hiring process.

6. Customer support is easily available and highly helpful

7. Variety of jobs available.

8. Directly redirects to the companies job page so you don't have to search the web.

Cons: 1. Now a day's I am seeing fake jobs

2. Need to secure, because fake recruiters get your details and try to create spam emails.

3. The user interface is simple, which is good but a bit improvement will attract even more users.

Overall: I used indeed to find my job and shared this with almost

every friend of mine who was looking for a job, many did get offers.

I really recommend this platform for job seekers or job posters.

Pros: Indeed is a great job search app with a really clear, clean layout making it easy to search and jobs and some of the jobs you can apply for straight from your phone. I've set up email alerts which are also great and 80-90% are the kind of jobs I'm interested in.

Cons: Sometimes the functionality isn't as good as it could be. When I search for jobs that have been posted in the last 24 hours for example I still get lots of sponsored ad's which have been on there for 20/30+ days which isn't helpful. It would be good to be able to see before clicking into a sponsored ad what date it was actually posted so that I'm not wasting my time looking through all the job details to then find out at the bottom of the ad it was posted a month ago. I'm also not a big fan of the company ratings section as often it seems like disgruntled former employees who leave the negative reviews so it's not helpful for getting an unbiased view of the company.

Overall: I use Indeed on a regular basis and find it one of the best apps for job searches and one of the most straight forward services out there. It's just a shame that the sponsored posts sometimes get in the way of my job searches and I waste time clicking on an ad only to see at the bottom it was posted weeks or up to a month ago. I would still recommend Indeed to friends and family as it's been really useful for me.

Pros: The software is very easy to use and only takes seconds to figure out. It also provides a few search filters to help narrow down job postings that apply to what you want.

Cons: As with several other employment search software applications were concerned, often the employment opportunities that come up in a search are actually outside of the parameters of the search filter.

Overall: My biggest issue with the software is that it frequently brings up search results that do not necessarily apply in the cases of either the distance from your home that you are looking to find a job in or the time frame of how new the job posting is. That being said, it does bring up a lot of legitimate employment opportunities which I find is not always the case with other software. Of the several different employment search software applications that I have used, Indeed has found me the largest quantity of legitimate employment opportunities and has resulted in the most job interviews for me than any other software. I would still recommend Indeed over most other software.

Pros: As a recruiter I think it is super easy to use, I like that I can customize our employer page, our account managers are awesome and always super helpful, I like the feature of being able to communicate with candidates without needing to share contact info right away.

As a job seeker I think it is easy to use and I dont feel like I am missing out on jobs since most employers automatically list on indeed.

Cons: As a Recruiter Ithink it could be more esthetically pleasing. While it is nice that is not over the top I feel like it is a hit too basic looking (like a Craig's list) and can also look cluttered. That's about the only thing I would improve.

As a job seeker I think the resume builder could be improved as well.

I also dont like that there are so many sponsored spots on job search return pages. It dilutes the sponsorship a bit but I understand why they added more spots.

Pros: The software, the app in particular and the website are almost identical, which i find really helpful. I am not fumbling around the website trying to figure out where everything is, because if you use the app, you know where it is on the website. The ability to apply for jobs on the app with just a few clicks is phenomenal. The periodic checks to see if I had back from a particular job is a really awesome feature. The overall usability of the app and website is really impressive. Navigation is really easy.

Cons: The search distance option is a little limited. Lack of follow up after submitting an application.

Overall: I am very impressed with the Indeed software in general. A think that an optional route of contact to the employer would be nice as well. Perhaps a direct contact phone number or person to follow up with or a option after you apply to resubmit or follow up to see if a employer as even viewed your resume.

Pros: I really like that it saves your recent searches, so when you are trying to go back and continue to look for new jobs they are easy to jump back to. I am also a big fan of the mobile app, I think it is very user friendly and allows you to filter to just see new job postings. You can also easily apply to jobs if you have already input your resume information into your account. I also like that you are able to mark certain jobs if you have or are going through the interview process.

Cons: Because it is such a huge job searching website you have to know exactly what kind of job and location that you are looking for jobs. On the mobile app there is a "back" and a "home" button when scrolling through job postings that do the same thing. I think its not necessary to have both buttons. It does not cause a functionality problem, its more an aesthetics thing.

Pros: -Easy to use: posting jobs is straightforward. It walks you through the entire process.

-Great candidate management - You're able to view, sort, and communicate with candidates, all within the site.

-Makes screening candidates even easier: You can set up an automated phone-screen for candidates, qualifying questions, or my favorite, skills assessments. These skill assessments do a great job of showing qualifications and dispositions right off the bat. A variety of assessments are available ranging from troubleshooting to customer service and just about everything in between.

-Great results, even if you don't sponsor a post. We haven't sponsored any of our job listings and have still met a lot of great candidates and made a lot of great hires.

Cons: -Don't always get the most qualified candidates. It feels like we have to weed through a lot of applicants that don't fit the description, but that may be due to the multi-industry broadness of the site (not specific to our field - IT).

-The user interface isn't very pretty, but it gets the job done.

Overall: Although it may not be perfect, Indeed has given us the best bang for our buck. We have made many hires from Indeed, and the new skills assessments have made it even easier.

Pros: I have used Indeed for both trying to find a job and also hiring someone. Using Indeed was a great experience for both ends. When I was looking for a job I felt like Indeed had some of the higher quality jobs that fit my criteria that I was looking for. They will email you when they think they might have found a good fit for you. I kept this feature on just to constantly see if there was some good opportunities out there. They have an easy to use App for Android and IOS. The app is convenient because you can scan the job listing anywhere from your smartphone. It has a great filter system that you can filter down the jobs with pay, category, location, etc. When I used Indeed to find an employee I felt like the people using Indeed were a higher caliber than the other job search software we used. I got over 30 applicants in the first couple of days when we listed the job. I can't remember exactly how much we paid for the listing but I remember it not being very expensive at all. Whether you are looking for a job or want to hire someone then you should look into Indeed.

Cons: I do not have one negative thing to say about Indeed. It worked great for me trying to find a job and also hiring someone.

Pros: I managed a series of small companies strung together under one umbrella in the food and beverasge industry. Turn over was problem number one. We didn't have an in house recruitment department and couldn't afford a contract placement firm. We turned to Indeed to post our jobs for free and consistantly deliver us quality candidates. The service industry is transient in nature but a stream of quality team players even if they don't last allows you to as seemlessly as possible maintain a consistant level of customer service. This was a huge challenge until we partnered with Indeed. We now post paid listings for management and mission critical positions and always reveive the same top level candidates to populate our recruitment funnel.

Cons: Indeed is a very proactive sales organization. Their reps do a fabulous job of reaching out and trying to upsell products and services. They are not the best at communicating billing or customer support issues.

Overall: Indeed is our in house recruitment partner. All of our servers, kitchen staff, and bar staff not reffered by employees come through Indeed. That says a lot for a company with 80 plus employees accross 3 states experiecing constant turn over. Thank you Indeed.

Pros: Indeed is probably the most widely used recruiting tool and for good reason. The interface is easy to use and the analytics are great. Cons: Billing can sometimes be confusing but our rep was very helpful in explaining the cycles. Can be expensive for cost per click. Need to repost tough to fill positions monthly in order to keep them in front of candidates.

Pros: I have used indeed as the applicant trying to find a job, & as the storefront trying to find employees. It's easy to use for BOTH parties. Finding jobs was easy to search for by keyword. When I put the Ad on Indeed searching for employees, it was unbelievable the amount of replies I had received!! They do a great job of filtering jobs. The easy to apply option is great! Makes it so easy & convenient. Also, it's FREE! You don't need to pay to apply to jobs like other sites do.

Cons: Definitely a few cons with Indeed.. one of major ones is how they keep job postings for 30+ days. It doesn't really seem practical considering most places had already hired by then. The 'sponsored jobs' is also a tad bit overwhelming. Hard to decipher what is sponsored vs what is populated by your search. Another downfall is with the 'easily apply' option, most of the time & im talking 98% of the time they don't auto reply to your email with a confirmation that you applied. Which makes you question if your application was successfully submitted or not. I don't like how they don't have exact categories for job searching. It's based off of keyword then you can filter. It should prompt you on the initial site on which type of job you want to search for.

Overall: Overall I will continue to use Indeed for searching for jobs & posting jobs. The site doesn't have a lot of spam posting, which is very convenient & nice!! Gives it a more 'proper' & safe job applying feeling rather than Craigslist jobs. I do think the site needs a little facelift, meaning improvement! It should have more options & functionality than it does.

Pros: I use Indeed both for my own job searches and to post new openings for the hospital. I've both landed jobs with the service and we've seen a ton of great applicants come through. I like that fact that you can post jobs in multiple locations. This is especially helpful when recruiting medical staff for a rural hospital such as ours. The cost is generally low. I also like the fact you can search resumes and see who has updated recently to build a recruiting pipeline. Customer support is also awesome.

Cons: UI could be a lot better. It's sometimes hard to find pages you're looking for. I do not like the resume upload feature. Basically you have to recreate your entire resume on the site. Software isn't great for that. I with they would just post the PDF of your resume.

Overall: Love it. Just had a call with my support rep yesterday to learn about new features.

Pros: Our company helps people with their job search and we use Indeed daily to help find job leads for people. It is the most used site for job searching in our area.

Cons: I have used Indeed to post job openings and as a small company I tend not to want to spend a lot of money on posting job leads so I find that my leads to not get a lot of views compared to companies that are able to pay more.

Pros: I love that I am easily able to complete several job applications in a matter of minutes, and in JUST a simple click or two. I think this really motivates me to apply to more than just a few jobs at a time because its such a quick process that I keep going and before I know it I've applied to 30 in just 15 minutes.

Cons: What I do not like is that about 40 % of the jobs that the site displays are "Apply on site" postings which means they display a photo of the job listing that is on the door or outside of the company hiring, and they require you to apply in person vs applying online. So you have to pay attention to which ones say "apply with indeed resume"

Overall: I really enjoy how simple and easy Indeed makes applying to jobs, I really appreciate their services.I am currently looking for a job and have received a few interviews already using their site!

Pros: Easy to navigate.

Keeps your information safe.

Resume builder.

Easy to search for and apply to jobs.

Reliable information.

Cons: It's not really so much of a negative, but I wish there was a way to better customize your resume.

Overall: As an independent author, I often need to supplement my income, so I'm always checking out Indeed to see what recent jobs have been posted. Indeed is much easier to use than, say, Monster.com, the interface of the website is super easy to navigate and there aren't a lot of intrusive ads all over the site. You can search for specific criteria to narrow things down or do a basic search by location, and a lot of jobs allow you to apply easily with just your Indeed resume, which I love. Then, if the company is interested they can either contact you directly or communicate through Indeed. I also really like that they don't share your information with an interested employer unless you give them permission, it shows they are invested in keeping you safe!

Indeed is easy to use, even for a newbie!

Pros: Indeed offers many jobs that are not on other sites! The 'apply with your Indeed resume' feature is wonderful for job hunters that spend a great deal of time reviewing job descriptions to find jobs they are qualified for. Some jobs have an 'interview' consisting of 3-7 questions that are designed to confirm you meet the required qualifications. And these also sometimes ask if you are legally able to work in the US, expected salary if you are willing to undergo a background check or any other requirements the company has.

Cons: There is no "flag" within the job list to indicate you have applied for a job. In order to determine that you have in fact previously applied, you must select the job, and in the details of the job description, the "apply" button contains a check mark indicating you have already applied. This would be beneficial to also see in the search list of jobs to the right of the 'apply with your Indeed resume' feature so you did not have to waste time looking at jobs you have already applied for.

Overall: I am able to easily apply for many jobs I cannot find at other sites. There is a record of all my applications and saved jobs. And of course an app for my phone!

Pros: - The interface is intuitive.

- Ability to upload resume and find positions that match one's skillset. Further, employers can also search resumes and reach out to potential employees.

- Tons of filters available so that one can narrow down his or her job search.

- Jobs can be applied from a cell phone as well.

Cons: - Jobs are not removed automatically on Indeed when they expire on employer's website the same day. There are lots of jobs on Indeed which directly points to an employer's website. Several times when one goes to employer's website, one sees a message, "This job is no longer available or has been expired."

So even if the job is expired on the employer's website, the job still shows on Indeed.

Overall: - If one is looking for a simple and powerful portal to look for a job, then Indeed is the place to go to.

Pros: Easy to navigate, search and upload. This is the most user friendly site I have used for employment searches. It allows you to easily upload your own resume and it automatically populates all of the info. into their format, which you can edit too. You also have the option to get notifications of jobs in your field and area. With the push of a button, you can easily apply to the vast number of jobs listed and you even get notification of your resume being viewed by the employer.

Cons: I have yet to run into any issues while using this program. The only minor thing I have noticed is that if your job search is for remote positions, it will notify you of jobs that do and do NOT allow remote positions. It must be the word "remote" that prompts it to happen.

Overall: Access to a wide variety of employers and user friendly format.

Vendor Response

by Indeed on November 15, 2017

Hi Leah,

We are glad to hear that you found our website user-friendly and have a good experience with it.

We just wanted to let you know that if you type "remote" directly in the "Where" box of your search, instead of "What", you should have more accurate results!

If you have any other question, don't hesitate to contact us at capterra@indeed.com referencing this review.

Thank you,
Indeed Support Team

Pros: As a user of indeed in a job search engine has been great for career oriented positions. You can post your resume for potential employers to find you based on experience, skill set and desired salary. The amount of quality jobs are good and I prefer this over other sites (Monster, LinkedIn, Craiglist). The job postings you can sometimes apply using your Indeed profile / resume or for more corporate jobs it will link you to their HR page on the exact same job posting.

Cons: As a recent college graduate, I hope there would be a filter to look for jobs that match my experience and degree for a entry level job. Most of the time I find myself sifting through listings that require more than my ability.

Overall: Overall I found great employment opportunities with legitimate companies and corporations. Although I'm still looking for better employment it's been my go to source. Monster.com is the worst, every Uber / Lyft driver puts up stupid ads trying to get people to use there referral code. Linkedin is like facebook, but I don't like their setup nor job listing quality. Criaglist is really only helpful for odd jobs and for high school students. Indeed is by FAR the best website, simple and easy to use with excellent results / opportunities

Pros: As a recruiter, I use the Indeed Professional Subscription and it is a great feature based on particular fields I am looking for. Indeed has a vast abundance of manufacturing candidates that it allows us to dive into to see if anyone is worth contacting. It allows us access to a lot of people that may not be openly checking the market, rather it gives us the ability to present them offers that may make them want to pursue

Cons: I did not like that we could not trial the subscription before getting. One of the biggest flaws with certain fields of work is that those candidates are not very active on these sites so they often times may not ever respond.

Overall: I do very much enjoy using Indeed. We have a LinkedIn Recruiter seat as well, so having various options to find candidates is always a huge plus

Pros: Indeed is very easy to use. It is easy to search for jobs by location, titles, or keywords. It is easy to make a profile with your resume.

The "apply with your indeed resume " option is excellent, it makes it easy to flood the market with your resumes in a short period of time.

It is also useful how if you have a profile with indeed, they save your recent searches and notify you when there are new posting with those job titles.

Cons: Many of the indeed job postings are "sponsored". The sponsored postings are always at the top, and after you see them once you have to continuously scroll through them to get to the new postings.

Sometimes indeed sends recommended or suggested jobs to the email linked to your profile- many times these jobs are not related to what field of work you are looking for.

Overall: Indeed is a great first resource for finding what job opportunities are out there. However, it seems to be the most mainstream job board and as a result I feel that the jobs posted may have more applicants as a result and may make it more difficult to get a job.

To successfully find a job it is best to use indeed along with other job boards or looking into specific companies for postings.

Pros: The most i like is the compatibility. The reason is a person searching for an alternate or a next job change will not be working in a system at office. I myself take as an example that i mostly use the app in my mobile to look for the job or to apply for the same. So the app works well with the android. Second is that It is a very good and easy platform to search for a job compared to other tools on a daily basis. I got all my jobs through indeed and it is very easy for the recruiters to find the right candidate through the platform. Applying for the same is easy for the job seekers as well.

Cons: The least i like is that some of the functions like career advice , resume writing tools can be developed in a better way so that people looking for the job could get benefited and also use the same for ever.

Overall: I have been using the same for about 5 years and i have recommended to my friends when they are and were in need of job. I personally used the same and the key word search tool is good. people could get the use of the tool via mobile as well. Overall i am happy with the potential of the software and will be using it in the future or when i am in need of the next job.
