Pros: I love that Indeed allows an in depth search in the job market. I work as a job developer helping people find work, and with all the unique job goals I love using Indeed. It is updated hourly, allows you to use key words, really hone in on what is competitive and available in the job market. I also love the advanced search options, it really helps narrow in on what i'm specifically looking for.

Cons: I don't like that Indeed allows recruiters to post staffing agency things. This clouds up the market as we only look for permanent and direct hire positions. I also don't like that things stay on for 30+ days. At that point, usually the positions are filled.

Overall: It helps me find the perfect opportunities for my clients to apply to in a quick and easy way.

Hi Sophie, thank you for sharing your wonderful feedback with us! We are so happy to hear you've had such a great experience while using Indeed! In addition, you can filter out staffing agencies by using our Advanced Search, www.indeed.com/advanced_search. At the bottom of the page select "Exclude staffing agencies". Lastly, if a job appears on Indeed this means the employer has actively posted the job themselves and should mean that they are hiring for the position. If you have come across an ad that is no longer hiring please contact our team directly at capterra@indeed.com with more information so we can further assist. We wish you continued success in your job search!

Pros: 1. Normally, mainstream job boards has the candidate's resume with all the information you need, but for this tool you have minimal information and requires. You to firat aend an email prior to getting contact details if that person is interested. Which I think is very unique with this application. It makes it, it's advantage because you get to really know whose candidates are intereated and will take time to speak with you over the phone.

2. Very easy to use, there is an option on the candidates list that a side pop up shows whenever you try to put the cursor with the candidate's name a brief description of their work history. It will give you an idea of wjat is the recent employment of this person and if it is relevant with your choice

3. You can send email all at once from main page, just click on the tick box

4. Its a mix o f commercial, light industrial up to IT/Healthcare / engineering.

5 saved searches for resume alerts

Cons: 1. The only thing I dont like much with this app is it's response time. When one candidate selected to opt in and interested qith the poaition you have emailed them with, it will take 30mins to 45 minutes before you receive the. Response. Overall

Overall: Overall, great tool for sourcing and perfect application for reach out and and how you gauge these interested candidate.

Pros: As someone who's been an applicant and has acted on behalf of the hiring manager, I have to admit Indeed is the cream of the crop when it comes to the American Job Search Engine. As an applicant, Indeed seems to have the largest and most current job listings with specific keywords/titles/salary/location requirements that I need and demand. It's also an incredible resource to view company salaries and employee reviews - all in one platform. With customizable emails, it's also super helpful to receive daily/weekly jobs, namely jobs specific to you and your tastes. While Indeed has not been my exclusive path to career success, it has had the most impact on my hiring.

Cons: As for cons... these typically come about when acting as the individual in charge of handling the online indeed account for the company. You can't beat the features and benefits of Indeed, but occasionally you'll list a position for a set number of days, with a budget, and it's possible you still receive beyond minimal applicants. And a number of those that do, do not have the experience the position requires despite the required/preferred application questions. Many of the times this has happened we have asked for a refund since the only real use we received as the company was the visible post, not viable applicants. However, CS cannot/will not sympathize with the lack of success with your job posting. Which, I understand as a business trying to make money, is ultimately a waste of time and money on our end.

Pros: It is pretty straightforward to use, I receive most of my applicants and hires from it, but it's only good not great.

The email relay function is convenient, and the canned responses for replying to applicants is quite nice and saves a lot of time. I am able to easily post a job, set my specific requirements for employees, and then just review over applications and resumes as they come in. I get notified when applicants are in, and I can quite easily sort through to pick who passes to the next step. A free posting will generate some applicants, and sponsoring is guaranteed to give you a higher quantity of applicants.

Cons: Indeed has two sets of users, but one customer. The two users are the Employees and the Employers. But, the Employer is their customer who pays. Indeed has to try and satisfy both in somewhat of a balance. One problem that arises from the employer's view is that the applicants are not always great quality. Indeed helps employers automatically match their skills and resumes to job postings that are already out there. This may be great for the employee side of things, but what that means for employers is that you receive a lot of applicants from people who did not actually know they were applying specifically for that job. However, I understand why Indeed does this. So this means that the response rate for applicants can be low, or that they are actually not interested in the job after they have "applied." For example, I can have 20 new individuals in my list labeled "applicants," but not all of them actually applied specifically to my job. So the moment I send them a message asking a tiny bit of additional info, the response rate can be very low.

Overall: I continue to use it and it gets the job done, but it's not as great as I would have hoped.

Pros: There are some pretty obvious reasons to use Indeed, in my opinion. The thing that I like most about this software is that almost every company is on it, which makes it easier to reach more employers. The best thing I like about Indeed is that it keeps my resume online and I can download it as a PDF or I can send the link or even connect my Indeed resume to some employer's applications. I also enjoy the fact that there are One-Click job options and options for temporary work, stuff like Uber or Bouncing in bounce houses with children. This is the best place to find a job. It is the most professional and safe way.

Cons: I have been scammed on Indeed before. Someone told me that they had a job for me and sent me a fake check and told me to cash it. Also, there are no picture or video options on the applications, which LinkedIN uses a more Social media approach to the job search. Please keep indeed professional and don't make it a social media site!

Overall: Overall, I would not choose any other job search site of Indeed. I switched over from SnagAJob and I never liked Monster or the other job search sites. This one has the most relevant, REAL jobs, at least most of the time. It still is easy to use and they do offer categories for searches, including full time or part time, and also the distance of the jobs. There could be more options added, possibly, to help people connect to the right work. I feel it is still tiresome no matter what. I don't like having to fill in APPS when I sent a whole resume.

Pros: Indeed is very user friendly and is an excellent tool when searching for a job. It is extremely easy to customize your search to include geographic location, commute time, salary, education, etc to make your search suit your current needs. Most mid-size to large employers utilize Indeed when searching for candidates. There is a large database of open positions. It also has apps for the phone which are user-friendly and make looking for a job as easy as possible. There is even a capability to apply with one click of a button once your resume is uploaded to Indeed. Looking for a job is sometimes a frustrating process, but Indeed makes it simple.

Cons: I don't have anything negative to say about Indeed.

Overall: I have personally used Indeed when applying for jobs. It is very simple to use. I used the phone app as well as regular website and found both to be helpful and easy. When searching for jobs, I used Indeed daily and always found new jobs to apply for. I found two of my last jobs through Indeed so I am a very happy user!

Pros: We've tried many other job sites. Most of them require you to pay something just to post a job and may require you to pay more to get decent exposure. Indeed is free to post a job on and you can still get tons of applications (good candidates too) without paying for it. In fact, I have had job postings on Indeed and other sites for the same job at the same time, and I will always get far more applications on Indeed than the others, even when I'm paying for the others and not paying for Indeed! In fact, many of the applicants on the other sites that I'm paying for are the same ones applying for jobs on Indeed. I should mention I have been posting for a company of about 100 people, so we usually have some kind of position open. I just don't even bother with the other sites. Aside from all that, I haven't mentioned how easy Indeed is to use, how it has automated review assessments, company overview pages, and job listing widgets you can embed into your company's careers page. There's just no reason to bother with the other sites, really.

Cons: If you do decide to run a paid ad, it's easy to burn through dollars without accomplishing much. I think Indeed needs to work on their paid promotions part of the website. But 99% of the time we don't need to use it.

Overall: Indeed is how we recruit. Period.

Pros: The software is very easy to use and only takes seconds to figure out. It also provides a few search filters to help narrow down job postings that apply to what you want.

Cons: As with several other employment search software applications were concerned, often the employment opportunities that come up in a search are actually outside of the parameters of the search filter.

Overall: My biggest issue with the software is that it frequently brings up search results that do not necessarily apply in the cases of either the distance from your home that you are looking to find a job in or the time frame of how new the job posting is. That being said, it does bring up a lot of legitimate employment opportunities which I find is not always the case with other software. Of the several different employment search software applications that I have used, Indeed has found me the largest quantity of legitimate employment opportunities and has resulted in the most job interviews for me than any other software. I would still recommend Indeed over most other software.

Pros: As a recruiter I think it is super easy to use, I like that I can customize our employer page, our account managers are awesome and always super helpful, I like the feature of being able to communicate with candidates without needing to share contact info right away.

As a job seeker I think it is easy to use and I dont feel like I am missing out on jobs since most employers automatically list on indeed.

Cons: As a Recruiter Ithink it could be more esthetically pleasing. While it is nice that is not over the top I feel like it is a hit too basic looking (like a Craig's list) and can also look cluttered. That's about the only thing I would improve.

As a job seeker I think the resume builder could be improved as well.

I also dont like that there are so many sponsored spots on job search return pages. It dilutes the sponsorship a bit but I understand why they added more spots.

Pros: I really like that it saves your recent searches, so when you are trying to go back and continue to look for new jobs they are easy to jump back to. I am also a big fan of the mobile app, I think it is very user friendly and allows you to filter to just see new job postings. You can also easily apply to jobs if you have already input your resume information into your account. I also like that you are able to mark certain jobs if you have or are going through the interview process.

Cons: Because it is such a huge job searching website you have to know exactly what kind of job and location that you are looking for jobs. On the mobile app there is a "back" and a "home" button when scrolling through job postings that do the same thing. I think its not necessary to have both buttons. It does not cause a functionality problem, its more an aesthetics thing.

Pros: -Easy to use: posting jobs is straightforward. It walks you through the entire process.

-Great candidate management - You're able to view, sort, and communicate with candidates, all within the site.

-Makes screening candidates even easier: You can set up an automated phone-screen for candidates, qualifying questions, or my favorite, skills assessments. These skill assessments do a great job of showing qualifications and dispositions right off the bat. A variety of assessments are available ranging from troubleshooting to customer service and just about everything in between.

-Great results, even if you don't sponsor a post. We haven't sponsored any of our job listings and have still met a lot of great candidates and made a lot of great hires.

Cons: -Don't always get the most qualified candidates. It feels like we have to weed through a lot of applicants that don't fit the description, but that may be due to the multi-industry broadness of the site (not specific to our field - IT).

-The user interface isn't very pretty, but it gets the job done.

Overall: Although it may not be perfect, Indeed has given us the best bang for our buck. We have made many hires from Indeed, and the new skills assessments have made it even easier.

Pros: I have used Indeed for both trying to find a job and also hiring someone. Using Indeed was a great experience for both ends. When I was looking for a job I felt like Indeed had some of the higher quality jobs that fit my criteria that I was looking for. They will email you when they think they might have found a good fit for you. I kept this feature on just to constantly see if there was some good opportunities out there. They have an easy to use App for Android and IOS. The app is convenient because you can scan the job listing anywhere from your smartphone. It has a great filter system that you can filter down the jobs with pay, category, location, etc. When I used Indeed to find an employee I felt like the people using Indeed were a higher caliber than the other job search software we used. I got over 30 applicants in the first couple of days when we listed the job. I can't remember exactly how much we paid for the listing but I remember it not being very expensive at all. Whether you are looking for a job or want to hire someone then you should look into Indeed.

Cons: I do not have one negative thing to say about Indeed. It worked great for me trying to find a job and also hiring someone.

Pros: I managed a series of small companies strung together under one umbrella in the food and beverasge industry. Turn over was problem number one. We didn't have an in house recruitment department and couldn't afford a contract placement firm. We turned to Indeed to post our jobs for free and consistantly deliver us quality candidates. The service industry is transient in nature but a stream of quality team players even if they don't last allows you to as seemlessly as possible maintain a consistant level of customer service. This was a huge challenge until we partnered with Indeed. We now post paid listings for management and mission critical positions and always reveive the same top level candidates to populate our recruitment funnel.

Cons: Indeed is a very proactive sales organization. Their reps do a fabulous job of reaching out and trying to upsell products and services. They are not the best at communicating billing or customer support issues.

Overall: Indeed is our in house recruitment partner. All of our servers, kitchen staff, and bar staff not reffered by employees come through Indeed. That says a lot for a company with 80 plus employees accross 3 states experiecing constant turn over. Thank you Indeed.

Pros: Indeed is probably the most widely used recruiting tool and for good reason. The interface is easy to use and the analytics are great. Promoting posts can be done in a variety of ways to fit our businesses needs. Our customer support rep, is great too! Big companies can benefit from Indeed pulling posts from their website too! They are always rolling out new features.

Cons: Billing can sometimes be confusing but our rep was very helpful in explaining the cycles. Can be expensive for cost per click. Need to repost tough to fill positions monthly in order to keep them in front of candidates.

Overall: I've used Indeed for working with several companies and love the fact that they can help tailor a plan that fits each business's needs!

Pros: I have used indeed as the applicant trying to find a job, & as the storefront trying to find employees. It's easy to use for BOTH parties. Finding jobs was easy to search for by keyword. When I put the Ad on Indeed searching for employees, it was unbelievable the amount of replies I had received!! They do a great job of filtering jobs. The easy to apply option is great! Makes it so easy & convenient. Also, it's FREE! You don't need to pay to apply to jobs like other sites do.

Cons: Definitely a few cons with Indeed.. one of major ones is how they keep job postings for 30+ days. It doesn't really seem practical considering most places had already hired by then. The 'sponsored jobs' is also a tad bit overwhelming. Hard to decipher what is sponsored vs what is populated by your search. Another downfall is with the 'easily apply' option, most of the time & im talking 98% of the time they don't auto reply to your email with a confirmation that you applied. Which makes you question if your application was successfully submitted or not. I don't like how they don't have exact categories for job searching. It's based off of keyword then you can filter. It should prompt you on the initial site on which type of job you want to search for.

Overall: Overall I will continue to use Indeed for searching for jobs & posting jobs. The site doesn't have a lot of spam posting, which is very convenient & nice!! Gives it a more 'proper' & safe job applying feeling rather than Craigslist jobs. I do think the site needs a little facelift, meaning improvement! It should have more options & functionality than it does.

Pros: Our company helps people with their job search and we use Indeed daily to help find job leads for people. It is the most used site for job searching in our area.

Cons: I have used Indeed to post job openings and as a small company I tend not to want to spend a lot of money on posting job leads so I find that my leads to not get a lot of views compared to companies that are able to pay more.

Overall: Easy way for people to find a lot of job leads.

Pros: I love that I am easily able to complete several job applications in a matter of minutes, and in JUST a simple click or two. I think this really motivates me to apply to more than just a few jobs at a time because its such a quick process that I keep going and before I know it I've applied to 30 in just 15 minutes.

Cons: What I do not like is that about 40 % of the jobs that the site displays are "Apply on site" postings which means they display a photo of the job listing that is on the door or outside of the company hiring, and they require you to apply in person vs applying online. So you have to pay attention to which ones say "apply with indeed resume"

Overall: I really enjoy how simple and easy Indeed makes applying to jobs, I really appreciate their services.I am currently looking for a job and have received a few interviews already using their site!

Pros: Indeed offers many jobs that are not on other sites! The 'apply with your Indeed resume' feature is wonderful for job hunters that spend a great deal of time reviewing job descriptions to find jobs they are qualified for. Some jobs have an 'interview' consisting of 3-7 questions that are designed to confirm you meet the required qualifications. And these also sometimes ask if you are legally able to work in the US, expected salary if you are willing to undergo a background check or any other requirements the company has.

Cons: There is no "flag" within the job list to indicate you have applied for a job. In order to determine that you have in fact previously applied, you must select the job, and in the details of the job description, the "apply" button contains a check mark indicating you have already applied. This would be beneficial to also see in the search list of jobs to the right of the 'apply with your Indeed resume' feature so you did not have to waste time looking at jobs you have already applied for.

Overall: I am able to easily apply for many jobs I cannot find at other sites. There is a record of all my applications and saved jobs. And of course an app for my phone!

Pros: - The interface is intuitive.

- Ability to upload resume and find positions that match one's skillset. Further, employers can also search resumes and reach out to potential employees.

- Tons of filters available so that one can narrow down his or her job search.

- Jobs can be applied from a cell phone as well.

Cons: - Jobs are not removed automatically on Indeed when they expire on employer's website the same day. There are lots of jobs on Indeed which directly points to an employer's website. Several times when one goes to employer's website, one sees a message, "This job is no longer available or has been expired."

So even if the job is expired on the employer's website, the job still shows on Indeed.

Overall: - If one is looking for a simple and powerful portal to look for a job, then Indeed is the place to go to.

Pros: Easy to navigate, search and upload. This is the most user friendly site I have used for employment searches. It allows you to easily upload your own resume and it automatically populates all of the info. into their format, which you can edit too. You also have the option to get notifications of jobs in your field and area. With the push of a button, you can easily apply to the vast number of jobs listed and you even get notification of your resume being viewed by the employer.

Cons: I have yet to run into any issues while using this program. The only minor thing I have noticed is that if your job search is for remote positions, it will notify you of jobs that do and do NOT allow remote positions. It must be the word "remote" that prompts it to happen.

Overall: Access to a wide variety of employers and user friendly format.

Hi Leah,

We are glad to hear that you found our website user-friendly and have a good experience with it.

We just wanted to let you know that if you type "remote" directly in the "Where" box of your search, instead of "What", you should have more accurate results!

Pros: As a user of indeed in a job search engine has been great for career oriented positions. You can post your resume for potential employers to find you based on experience, skill set and desired salary. The amount of quality jobs are good and I prefer this over other sites (Monster, LinkedIn, Craiglist). The job postings you can sometimes apply using your Indeed profile / resume or for more corporate jobs it will link you to their HR page on the exact same job posting.

Cons: As a recent college graduate, I hope there would be a filter to look for jobs that match my experience and degree for a entry level job. Most of the time I find myself sifting through listings that require more than my ability.

Overall: Overall I found great employment opportunities with legitimate companies and corporations. Although I'm still looking for better employment it's been my go to source. Monster.com is the worst, every Uber / Lyft driver puts up stupid ads trying to get people to use there referral code. Linkedin is like facebook, but I don't like their setup nor job listing quality. Criaglist is really only helpful for odd jobs and for high school students. Indeed is by FAR the best website, simple and easy to use with excellent results / opportunities

Pros: While searching for a job I am able to find many options to drill down to what I'm interested in. I love that for many of the job postings I can use the documents (resume, references) that I have already uploaded to Indeed to apply quickly and not repeat everything on another website.

When I was working and posting positions I loved the ability to post a job, pause a position that may need to be reposted and to delete job postings. I also like the features of emailing, scheduling interviews and such for potential applicants.

Cons: Repetitive emails with identical information, often within the same day.

Overall: I've used it for years for posting positions that I was the hiring manager for with moderate success.

I've used it most recently in applying for a new job with fair success.

Pros: We use Indeed Resume and there are always a multitude of candidates even for obscure searches. Within the past few months Indeed has implemented a lot of new marketing, added services, and benefits. The resume quality has definitely improved.

Cons: The user interface - it is simply just not attractive.

Sometimes my saved search results that are emailed to me daily are not anywhere close to matches.

I wish they would allow us to pay less and receive the candidates contact information. Their contact information used to be free. Then they changed to having to get the candidate's permission to share their contact info with you (my favorite) and now you have to pay to contact the candidate with no contact information or guarantee that they will even see your message.

When contacted anywhere from 15 to an upwards of 50 candidates a day it really starts to add up!

Overall: Resumes and up to date information on when a candidate updated their information.

We've used Indeed several times to hire for our company.

Pros: I really like that Indeed lets me choose several questions that applicants must answer. It really helps us to narrow down our candidates, especially if we're looking for someone with specific skills. It's really easy to post a job and maintain it, and I like that I can turn off the posting whenever. It's really cost effective to leave the job posting live for however long I want and be able to turn it off. Some other sites will require you to leave the post active for a certain amount of time, so I like the flexibility that Indeed gives me.

Cons: One thing that is a con but is not in Indeed's control, is that some applicants will give false information to the mandatory questions we ask. For example, if I want to hire people who lives within ten miles of my office, I might require all applicants to answer that question. There are always going to be some applicants who answer, "yes, I live within ten miles to your location," when in reality they don't. But that is not something that Indeed can control.

Overall: I get great employees from this software! Every time I have used Indeed, I have successfully found an employee. I will definitely continue to use this website in the future.

Pros: For one, I love that Indeed is free! Most other job sites cost. Even without sponsoring your post, you can still reach a lot of people, which is fantastic for small companies who are hiring, in particular. They have very helpful support agents if you run into any issues. But really, it's quite straightforward. You can communicate directly with the applicants through the site, and easily categorize, send automated/template emails and even see if an applicant has applied for a previous job before. My favorite new feature is the skills assessment option. As part of the application process, you can request the applicant take a test. The results are sent to you and available on their page. It helps me to see who is serious about the application and who has the right skills!

Cons: The interface isn't the most fancy (just a white background with black and blue text). This site may not be the best for highly specific positions, but it's great for entry-level/intermediate positions that need to be filled.

Overall: We are able to quickly and affordably connect with people interested in our positions.

Indeed is one of my top sources for finding candidates still!

Pros: Not too far behind Linkedin, Indeed is where the majority of our candidates come through. We use it to post our roles, sponsor roles to drive more traction on hard to fill requisitions, and also for purchasing a couple resume subscriptions for a proactive sourcing approach. I cannot imagine using Indeed as an ATS though (my previous company used to screen candidates in the backend), but for generating candidates, absolutely - you need Indeed! It tops any other source.

Cons: It's not the easiest to go through my Account Manager. I have been assigned a new one quite frequently. It's certainly not efficient - my account manager is handling hundreds of other accounts it seems so getting a response is like pulling teeth. I've tried reaching out to support as well, and they refused to talk to me even though I proved I was a team member using the email address on file! The billing is pretty confusing as well - to be frank, it's messy when you're a recruitment company that recruits behalf of many clients.

Overall: We absolutely need Indeed to get candidates - our applicant tracking system makes sure to post on Indeed for us.

Pros: I'm blown away at the features that Indeed has to offer for FREE! It is a supplemental ATS that I use daily to help "cast a wider net" and attract candidates that might not have considered my company before. I love the ease of use, the sleek design, the modern interface, and more. The drop downs that you can use for pre-screening questions, requirements, etc. are incredible!

Cons: Certain keywords and phrases are not allowed. Other than that, I don't have anything negative to say. They provide a great product for FREE!

Overall: Incredibly easy to use!

Pros: This is a great site with a great, intuitive tool and company resources that are educated and understand how to find candidates qualified to individual company persona definitions.

Cons: Customer service experience with Indeed tend to range all over the spectrum, so it's a situation of working with them with your eyes and ears open. They would do well to focus on the consistency of their customers' experience with them as they have a great product and catalog of services.

Overall: Powerful, easy to use tool for recruiting with great service staff to support it.

Pros: The best thing about Indeed, and maybe the only thing that matters, is that it gets results. Also, the basic functions are all user-friendly. Also, they seem to be very generous in offering free services to help drive traffic to your postings.

Cons: They don't want you reposting a job within 3 months of posting. This is extremely unfortunate because most of your traffic will hit in the first 2 weeks. Also, when it is time to repost, it is not convenient.

Overall: As I mentioned earlier, it gets results.

Pros: Indeed allows you to search for jobs either by keyword or by location and - even in my small town - immediately shows job opportunities with a large variety of employers. Company reviews by current or former employees are available for many companies, so you'll know whether it's a place that you would like to work. You can apply for a job directly from the link - sometimes with only one click, if you've uploaded your resume beforehand. If you're not ready to apply, you can save interesting jobs so that you can easily find them later. Indeed can also send you daily emails of jobs that may be right for you (based on your resume and qualifications) and offers email subscriptions that will alert you when a new job is posted that matches your keywords. You also have the option to make your resume viewable by employers, who can reach out to you if they like what they see.

Cons: Lots of ways to sort available jobs (by date, relevance, salary, location, etc.) but no way to filter by type of job (office, construction, or what have you.) In order to find a specific type of job, you either have to browse through all of the results or come up with the just the right keyword(s) to search.

Overall: I found job opportunities that I hadn't seen anywhere else, especially in local newspaper classifieds - and have had one employer reach out to me after less than two weeks because she liked what she saw on my resume.

Pros: The one-stop shop for job ads and postings. It has just about every company and posting that is on the market. It is also easy to get them to pick up your company web page so your ads get posted.

Cons: There is a sense that they can play with how visible your job ad is on the back-end. I have sponsored jobs ads before and gotten less candidate flow than when I just posted it normally.

Pros: I have always used Indeed to find jobs. It seems to be the most populated job board for Utah. I really like all of the filter options. This makes it easy to find jobs that apply to me in the most specific ways, and saves me hours of searching or going places in person. Working in the medical field, it seems that most companies use Indeed and similar software's to find candidates. I like the email notifications I receive about new job postings that may apply to me, my current job was discovered this way.

Cons: I would prefer that there was just one way to apply for jobs. Sometimes it appears that you can apply directly through Indeed, but then you must go to the company website. If it were more clear when selecting the 'apply' button then you could be more prepared for the time required to fill out the application.

Overall: Many, many job options at my fingertips

Pros: Indeed is the no-fuss job posting site. No membership requirements, no pay for play, no cutesy marketing mascot, just straightforward job posting and candidate requirement. I've used indeed as both a candidate and a recruiter, and the experience on both ends is superb. It has the most jobs if you're searching, and the most candidates if you're hiring. And did I mention it's free?! We've advertised jobs with other job sites and we always get the most (and usually the best) candidates using indeed. There's rarely a shortage of candidates for even the most obscure roles.

Cons: The only negative I have to say about indeed is that their advertising product for recruiters is absurdly broken. I handle the digital marketing for our brand and I found the advertising on indeed to be a total joke; way overpriced and didn't produce any results. At least I know how to answer my boss when he asks me the fastest way to waste money. Hopefully they will improve this in the future as the site gets more crowded.

Overall: We use this site for recruiting

Pros: What we like most about Indeed is that it is easy to post for a quick job or job fair we are promoting as well as a easy to source for candidates.

Cons: What we like least is the new subscription-based platform model that Indeed is moving towards. The subscriptions to contact candidates are a separate fee up on top of any company package you purchase.

Overall: Benefits to using Indeed is that it is a very easy job board to learn how to use and navigate. New sourcing recruiters can easily learn how to post a position and source for candidates in 30 minutes or less.

Pros: Indeed provides quick reply jobs, simply because finding a full time job is a full time job and quick reply decrease time when apply to jobs.

Cons: The people who are using Indeed may not know how to actually us it.

I have been in several interviews where HR flat out told me that they had difficulty using the Indeed database. However I have applied to well over 65 jobs a month for almost a year and most call backs are from internships. Keep in mind I've only applied for 2 and I managed to get just those two.

Overall: I'm located in California so maybe finding work here is useless. However I applied to jobs in North Carolina and I've received more call backs from business in California than North Carolina.

Pros: As an aggregate job posting site, it is a must have for any recruiting department to use on a daily basis.

The free hosting feature is automatically done on most ATS programs.

Because they scrape from so many websites, job postings with them will reach even tough markets like Physicians, whereas Careerbuilder, Zip, Monster, etc. do NOT reach these.

Cons: Google-for-Jobs has made Indeed all but obsolete.

Their "paid" version is pointless compared to the free version. We have tested several times and have seen hardly any, if any, quantifiable difference for the huge cost, regardless of what the sales team says.

Their resume database is horrible in search function and results, although, useful in that you can pay per resume pull.

They are aesthetically the Craigslist of job search websites. The site is ugly (relative), hard to become a power user on (like Linkedin), and is only successful because of their Freemium aggregate model.

Overall: In general, the free version is useful and should be an automatic posting option for any Recruiting/Talent Acquisition department if it isn't already cross-posted by your ATS automatically. In a free version, you can excuse how bad the software is, which is pretty bad. However, their freemium aggregate model of scraping jobs from thousands of other sites and making their website a one-stop shop for job searchers made them the #1 job posting site quickly. But the dirty little secret is that this model isn't sustainable, and like Monster and Amazon, their first goal was to grow their user base, and then try to force paid versions onto their user base. However, unlike Monster, their product is only good because it was unique and free. There are tons of other sites that now use the aggregate scraping model and are much better programs. In addition, Google-for-Jobs has pretty much made Indeed obsolete by offering the same ability, but using the vast superior searchability of Google with an already existing Millennial user-base. The software is better, and it already syncs with google search. Regarding the paid version of Indeed, it just isn't worth it unless you recruit in large cities, you may need to use the paid version in order to not be buried quickly in their ads, but even then, the effectiveness is debatable when you can update the ad or repost it every few days. Even in larger cities, I haven't seen any quantifiable benefit of using the paid version.

Pros: Posting was a breeze, a lot of other sites kept having me put deadline and then after i'd have to re-enter all information, but indeed didn't have me to. and when people applied, i like that there was a list that i can review, or if i needed to do outreach it'd show me what i'd need to see. and sending them messages through indeed was a plus as well, i'd just copy and past my generic email for outreach and it was super easy as to clicking multiple profiles and then messaging them. but on the opposite end of applying on indeed, i enjoy that i can just upload my resume and have it prepared and ready.

Cons: at first it was a bit confusing when i wanted to see my postings, changing between trying to view my postings, post my postings, and people who have applied and past job postings i made or me applying to postings. but that could be due to my own issue of not being very tech savy- just felt a little overwhelmed with process of pressing a bunch of things before getting to where i needed to be.

Pros: There's something about Indeed that is just so...simplistic and easy and really fun to use. The UI is very very minimalist, but I think that's probably a statement that they want to make things easy. They post when jobs were put on the site, they let you save jobs, easily apply through their site, post locations, salaries, and they have tons of other features that aren't even on their main site. I know other job sites post these types of things, but they don't exercise the same level of transparency that Indeed does. I've also gotten emails about analytics - Indeed has told me certain jobs that are hiring at a higher rate that I may be interested in, and I think that's something that really stands out.

Cons: Ok, it is sort of an ugly site to use. It's easy on the eyes but really ugly. Also, sometimes because it is so relaxed it can seem a little bit unprofessional to use. Still a great site but just not as formal as normal company recruiting.

It's no secret that Indeed is a leader in this industry.

Pros: Indeed is a leader in the industry for a reason - virtually all job seekers are aware of it and have made use of it at some point. It has the widest reach of any job board we have used.

Cons: The price! They know that they are a leader and they make that apparent in their cost. It is impossible to have a partnership with them for a reasonable price.

Pros: I love indeed and have actually been hired through indeed.com at the last 3 positions I've applied for. I love the quick apply option. Once you get your profile and info/resume uploaded and updated, you have the option for quick apply which is exactly as it sounds. It is so easy!

Cons: Sometimes the really interesting job posts that come along are not quick apply so indeed may reroute you to the company's main website to apply. It's not terrible but it can take quite a long time. Not every job posting is a quick apply. lol

Overall: I have received the last 3 places of employment through indeed. Even temp positions listed on indeed are worth applying for if there is long term positions needing to be filled :)

Pros: This is easiest job searching platform I've ever came across. It is easy to use and allows you to filter by pay range, job title, location, and distance from location. It allows me to easily search for hundreds to thousands of jobs in my nearby area; and you can even search for work at home jobs! It has helped me tremendously throughout the past in finding good quality work, and I like the feature to be able to filter jobs by pay range.

Cons: Sometimes the jobs on there will say easily apply with your indeed resume, but then you'll go through the process just for it to then require you to go to the job website and got though their lengthy process. I also wish there was a way indeed would help with the cover letter portion as well, as they do with the resume. Other than this, it is still an excellent platform.

Overall: I have used indeed for every job I've ever applied for or searched for, and my entire experience was great was hardly any complaints. I would suggest this platform over any other job search engine.

Pros: Indeed is a free site that you can search for jobs. You are able to create your resume automatically by answering questions about your work history and skills. Indeed keeps your applying history in an organized matter, you can save jobs your interested in, check what jobs you have applied to already, and update them if you applied elsewhere to keep track your records.

Cons: Sometimes, you can receive too many email notifications on jobs that you may be interested in and they are the same jobs.

Overall: Overall, Indeed is my go-to for job hunting and has many options for helping you find that one company. If you are a newbie, it will be easy to use.

Pros: I enjoy the ability to upload my resume to the program and having others be able to look at it, even if I am not applying for that position. I think keeping your options open is a rule to live by, and this program helps me achieve that.

Cons: The vague-ness of some job postings (and repetitions too!). Many times I've been on Indeed and have applied to the same job multiple times because there were multiple listings! This cost me time and energy that I could have been applying to other jobs (and as everyone knows, it is all about timing in the job market!)

Overall: Pretty good. I've gotten a couple jobs through the website so for that I am grateful.

Pros: I have used Indeed for probably for 10 years. They have grown and developed their software significantly over this time. I especially love Indeed resume sourcing. The new system rewards connecting with applicants. The program is super friendly to use.

I have also used this when searching for jobs. I love you are able to subscribe to updates. Indeed is working for you when you are sleeping. They will send you updates to your email with new postings.

Their customer service has been amazing.

Cons: Really nothing. I have had such great success as a recruiter and an applicant.

Pros: Indeed provided me with many opportunities to view open job listings that were in my field. Indeed provides estimated compensation for certain positions based on location and experience. I found this tool very helpful when discussing compensation in multiple positions. Another feature that is effective is the ability to search by state or city. This is powerful when looking for positions in certain geographic areas of the world. I do enjoy that the majority of job postings are realistic and state what expectations are needed to apply.

Cons: One con that I did notice frequently when using Indeed is that some job postings are quite delayed in being removed from the website when the job has been filled. I do not believe this is a con of Indeed itself as it probably relies on the company posting the job to provide updated information regarding the position.

Pros: By far the best feature is the integration with WordPress; preparing and posting jobs through Indeed with the WP integration means they automatically generate on my website. This is such a huge improvement. Very easy to use, very quick posting; the interface to manage applicants and keep track of postings is outstanding.

Cons: Would like to have more options/customize options for pre-screenings; it's still pretty good, but needs just a few changes to make it perfect.

Not really related to software, out only issue has been the follow up calls from Indeed to upsell on the account. Just persistent enough to be frustrating.

Pros: The ability to reach such a broad audience for free is amazing. There are functions for setting up interviews and taking notes.

Cons: My biggest complaint about Indeed is the way candidates are tracked. There needs to be a better way of seeing what all a candidate has applied for and what correspondence was sent previously on different applications.

Overall: Posting jobs for free and reaching so many people is the biggest benefit and outweighs most of the cons.

Pros: It is very easy to navigate through, especially if someone has the app. It is great that everything is updated in real time and specific to anyone's job desires.

Cons: When updating a resume it should be uploaded as a pdf so it can stay neat and not out of format, so when someone applies to a job the resume won't look out of place. It would be nice to have a direct link with each job posting to take you straight to the job posting.

Overall: I absolutely love indeed, this has to be one of my favorite job searching app that helps me find exactly what I am looking for. I always recommend this to people that are currently looking for new jobs.

Pros: Personally Indeed is in the lead with the most options, linked with great metrics through Glassdoor, easy document storage and application process. Through it's direct site, Indeed gives you plenty of flexibility to add /modify your resume and cover letters all the while properly directly you to the job site to apply without any roundabouts. Easy to read display and formatting on page and a long list of options for search. I love it over any other engine!

Cons: I haven't found a way to load additional documents like references and recommendations separately.

Pros: All-in-one system for hiring where everything you need is in one place.

Cons: Having to put in notes every time you reject a candidate ... e.g. "candidate moves from position to position too much", or "candidate has large holes in their resume". It would be nice if these were options to check off to save time.

Overall: Last year I didn't care for Indeed very much. You'd just get tons of junk resumes where no one would bother to get back to you. I assume the membership just applied for every open position. Now the quality of candidates is much better and there are assessments you can use to test the quality of applicants skills for things like customer service.

Pros: The use of indeed helped me find my last job. The search window is simple to use and the results it brings up are mostly relevant, including geographically close to where you live. Not only was I able to connect with my current employer through it, but it also offers some other interesting features:

-search through similar CV's to see what others competing for the same jobs are emphasizing

-the salaries area helped me gauge where I'm at, and you can also look at indeed.co.uk to look at salaries abroad in the UK for instance.

Cons: In the resume area, your current employer may find you looking for a job, if you are not careful. They do not use your name, resumes are supposed to be anonymous, but a few people had their name in the cover letter.

Overall: Indeed helped me find my new job. It is simple to use, and offers concise, thorough, relevant search results as a job seeker. It also allows jobseekers to browse the CV section, so you get a feeling for what your peers are saying in your job market. I also used the competitor Glassdoor, but found Indeed is cleaner and updated more often. The salaries section of Indeed also lets you compare your own salary to that of other industries.

Pros: We use this as our sole place to place job postings. Indeed reaches a large audience and posting for a tech job we get 2-3 applicants a day. The interface is simple and you can do double blind email so no one knows the actual address until you chose as an end user to do this.

We generally post a couple of screener questions then a job description. The last 12+ full time hires have been done for free on indeed. Compare it to any of the big boards and you will low indeed.

Cons: The sales team can be a little annoying. We signed up for the sponsored listings and we say no difference in the number or quality of applicants. The other con is the end users ignore the screener questions. They will still apply even if they are 1000s of miles away. I do love indeed and will continue to use. Simple easy job postings it reminds me of a modern Craigslist.

Overall: We need to hire staff and we use indeed to do this. Very low friction to getting a psoting online.

Pros: The ease of use to search for resumes for individuals that fit with my qualifications requires for each position available. I like being able to set specific questions to answer for applicants to find out if they have met the basic minimum requirements for a specific job.

Cons: It can be frustrating at times that as an employer I am not able to view an applicant's email or phone number on their resume and that it must first go through the Indeed email process. I understand this is for tracking purposes, but it can make things difficult at times to contact a potential applicant.

Pros: We have used indeed for almost 8 months and the experience was good. We tried employers section where posting jobs gave us applications. We did receive our share of irrelevant applications. But it did give us good ROI. We got 3x back, which is way better than any other career portal in our geography. I would recommend it to people who are looking for reasonable rate and effective results. We have recently bought resume subscription to check if we'll be able to deliver applicants for some difficult positions.

Cons: User experience is not that great as it is a very simple product if you want to have some more features it doesn't provide. Indeed has a minimalist approach, i like but sometimes i do need some more features like proper applicant tracking system.

Overall: It's a good experience, i would recommend it to my ex colleagues and connections who work in recruitment industry.

Pros: I really like Indeed and I noticed earlier on in my job search that with Indeed I kept getting more relevant and up to date finds. The site is also aesthetically appealing and easy to use. It is now the only main job searching site I use.

Cons: That it doesn't automatically have the most recent and relevant postings listed at the top. Sometimes I find that I have to hit the word new for the latest to appear.

Pros: Indeed makes sourcing and reaching out to candidates a lot easier! Unlike most job boards out there, Indeed has the option to reach out to candidates. Which I think is great for both recruiters and job hunters in a way Indeed helps you establish that initial connection versus the traditional source and call routine in which is a bit awkward for both parties. What makes it also stand out is how you can do a lot of templates and have it personalized without doing it manually. The candidates would receive your emails, personalized to their name which makes things a lot easier.

Cons: This more of a personal note, I wish the actual UI was a bit more updated. The whole page feels really old.

This is the only recruitment tool I use as others pale in comparison.

Pros: I'm big on user interface. If I don't need to fiddle around with menus and complex workflows I consider it a win. Indeed is laid out in the simplest way possible. Navigating many categories is easy and flows naturally. Indeed also makes previously visited pages easily identifiable so you don't waste your time.

We use this software for hiring regularly, in fact I found this job on Indeed. We've found that works better than competing software for managing applications.

Cons: The mobile view can use a little bit of work. What's gained in the desktop view is lost in the mobile view. It can quickly seem cramped and ill designed. Most Indeed users will be on desktop so I understand the neglect.

Overall: Indeed has made application management and hiring a breeze. I don't have much time to be constantly filtering through resumes or cover letters manually and this service has changed my workflow in the hiring process. We're a small company and our time is valuable so Indeed does well for us.

Pros: Indeed maintain updated all available positions. I like the opportunity that I have to maintain in profile, for my personal use where applied. That gives me a great opportunity to do follow up calls or email. I like how quick they match me with other positions of employment that I can consider to apply. Create your profile is simple and faster.

Cons: Employer sometimes explain properly job duties or salary and sometimes are lack of information. I think is someting that can improve. Otherwise i dont see any other cons.

Overall: Indeed is my first option to find job opportunities .I higly recommeded cause your can reduce the time that you spent aplying for a job. You have everithing in one place when you create your account, its allow you to save your resume in your profile. If you need to know about the company that you applied also you can read reviews from previous employee and that gives you a pretty much idea what to expect or to decide if is convenient for you to applied for the open position.

Pros: Unlike other sites, Indeed is clutter free. They index jobs from all across the internet and never flood their user's accounts with email notifications. The clean interface and the essential features such as search, job application, and job alerts are really well done.

Cons: Companies tend to have a brand presence on sites such as LinkedIn and Monster Jobs, whereas Indeed just appears as a distribution channel. It's a great discovery tool but not the best for connecting with recruiters.

Overall: Helped me find relevant jobs and companies.

Pros: It allows you look at jobs that are hiring from literally any location and you can do it on a computer or on an app. It's great that you can choose filter jobs specifically for you are looking for either by location, salary experience, etc. The best feature is the easy apply that allows you to send off a mini-application and resume to the job of your choice without having to complete an entire application. Also, it has reviews for various jobs that allows you to evaluate the companies as well. There's another feature that allows you save jobs for later and categorize the jobs by where you are in the job process.

Cons: Both the website and the app crashes often. Also, there isn't a feature to contact the jobs directly through indeed unless they message you first so you can't ask questions

Overall: I don't have any grievances with indeed. IT allows me to easily apply for and acquire jobs when I need them.

Pros: We used to use Craigslist to find candidates. I decided to give Indeed a try since they are located here in Austin TX. Indeed was the solution that we were looking for. We are able to type up a job description and add qualifications that Indeed's software will automatically sort for us. We can post a job posting that requires a specific license and we can choose that Indeed only show us applicants that meet that qualification. Craigslist has no filtering process. This allows us to spend more time reviewing candidates that we know meet our qualifications. We have hired 5 solid employees and will continue to use Indeed for hiring.

Cons: Indeed's software far exceeds our expectations. Their algorithm is smart and we get the applicants that we need.

Pros: i like this software because of its ease of use. I work with people with disabilities and it is easy to explain to them how to use Indeed.

Overall: My overall experience with indeed is very satisfying. I was able to get around the website with any problems and I continue to use it on a day to day basis.

Pros: I liked the many different filters you were able to apply to searches. I found that there were many good opportunities available and that there were very few schetchy or fraudulent job offers on the site

Cons: I can't think of any specific faults with the software. I found it truly the best way to look for leads and employment.

Overall: I was a user for Indeed. I found the interface and implementation very user froiendly. I was able to easily find and apply for many positions through the one site, It was very helpful in that way.

Pros: I am an HR specialist for a company that hires employees from around the United States. I am the person responsible for posting jobs when a hiring push is about to begin. What I like the most about Indeed is how quickly I can post the same job to multiple cities and states without having to make a bunch of different listings. It streamlines my process considerably and makes posting a job a breeze.

Cons: The one area I feel Indeed falls short, is by not allowing recruiters to customize their own "Knock Out" questions, but instead only allowing us to choose from the few Indeed provides. For example, Indeed will let me post that a valid driver's license is required, but I can't follow up with whether or not the applicant has reliable transportation. Each question is as important as the other in our line of work, but I can only ask about a license because that is all that is available to me.

Overall: Indeed has been a really valuable tool in my recruitment process. I find our postings are very visible, and I receive the interest from the kind of applicants I am looking for. I also enjoy the updates if a job has not been viewed very much, or is a posting is about to close as it reaches the end of its life cycle. I will continue to use Indeed to find quality applicants.

Pros: I absolutely love the "Quick Apply" feature. Once you setup your profile, it's easy sailing from there. I especially love how many companies post the pay, too.

Cons: There are many marketing companies that seem odd on there. But from a user on both ends (Posting Jobs and Applying for Jobs), this is the software I use 100% of the time.

Pros: I like how fast it is to post a position within minutes. On the opposite end, it is very easy to search for a job. There are several filters you can use - distance, type of work, pay, level of experience, part-time or full-time, etc. This saves time from flipping page after page of jobs you are not interested in.

Cons: The thing I like least about Indeed is the order in which the jobs display. It would be nice to have the most recent posted jobs first. For someone that is looking daily, you still need to go page by page because there is no specific order. I also see a lot of repetitive job postings, it would be nice to eliminate those.

Overall: I have used Indeed for several years . I have posted jobs and also used to search for jobs. Indeed is quick, easy, and reliable. Other than the order they are posted in, we are very satisfied with Indeed! We would recommend to any person and/or business.

Pros: The Indeed software makes it easy to get your available jobs out there for potential candidates to see and it also makes the job search easy for candidates. The organization of the information for posted jobs and candidates that have applied make the software a great tool to have in any office.

Cons: I would like it if messages or a notification was sent to my email when a candidate replies to a message within the software. It would streamline communication a little better so you don't have to constantly log in to check for new messages.

Overall: I have been using Indeed for a little over a year and will continue to use it for finding candidates for my available jobs.

Pros: I like Indeed because it keeps me up to date on new jobs that are available, and sends great notices that are relevant to me. It is easily searchable, and always has tons of listings! The format/way things are laid out is easy to use, and pretty much intuitive. I love doing job searches on Indeed and can actually get quite lost down a rabbit hole (in a good way) by searching from my own speciality to others "just in case"

Cons: The only thing I do think that could be tweaked is the frequency of emails. (this may actually already be a setting that I have missed) Daily emails is a bit much for me, but weekly ones would be great!

Pros: - Simple and easy to use interface.

- Ability to upload the resume and filled out the form automatically when applying to a job is one of the most useful features.

- Contains ample amount of filters which can be applied while looking for a job.

- Works flawlessly from cellphones and other range of devices.

Cons: - The job matches sent in the email frequently does not match based on one's profile/skills/qualifications. Further, many jobs are either already filled or closed.

Pros: The free tier allows you to get a reasonable number of candidates. Posts won't expire unless you set an expiration date, which allows you to create a database of potential candidates.

Cons: It can get a little bit expensive. If you don't have a lot of budget, you won't be able to get super good results with the paid features. It's better to just stick with the free ones, which would yield very similar results.

Overall: You are able to build a good list of candidates.

Pros: I've used Indeed a few times both in my own job searches and in searching for staff. From both directions, I loved how specific you can get with skills required, and I think they do a nice job of simplifying the job application process.

Cons: Indeed sends out WAY too many emails. Whenever I use Indeed, once I've achieved the hiring or being hired that I set out to do, even if I unsubscribe, I always have to create a filter in my inbox to automatically archive everything from Indeed, otherwise my inbox gets overrun and I can't find the important emails that I really need to get to.

Overall: Indeed is just a great company overall. They've saved me a lot of time, and especially more recently, made it a lot easier to weed through job applications and find the team members we really need. I'd just recommend maybe having a dedicated email account for Indeed type stuff so that your primary inbox doesn't get flooded beyond sanity.

Pros: The software is easy to use as both a recruiter and a job seeker. As a recruiter it allows for your job to be seen in more places, while allowing a good amount of applicants to apply. As a Job seeker, it takes postings that may not have been seen, and brings them to the fore front to be seen. This is a great program that allows both employers and employees to be seen.

Cons: I am going to be hones, I really have never seen a downside of the software itself. The downfall is usually the poster.

Overall: This is a great tool for both user and administrator. Before indeed, you would have to check multiple site. Like Google, Indeed has really brought and ease to job posting and hunting. Overall this is a great program and should be used by recruiters and job seekers.

Pros: My absolute most favorite thing about Indeed is that I can run a job search in one place and get results from all over culminating into a single results listing. For jobs listed on Indeed.com it is easy to apply directly if you have your profile set up before-hand. Inputting a basic resume on their website is simple and not as clunky as some I've used in the past.

Cons: Sometimes the advertised job postings get to be a bit much especially when you can't tell if they are local or not, maybe a way to specify which ads you'd like to see in the future sort of the way Facebook does these days?

Overall: Indeed is the number one resource I recommend to anyone starting a job search and it's my first stop to start looking even if I'm just trying to see what the job market in my field is looking like. I will also utilize Indeed as a resource to help others find jobs in their own town which s really handy.

Pros: This is by far my favorite go to when hiring exempt staff. The site tells prospective employees when their resume is a match, it allows them to track which positions they have applied for and follows up with them on the outcome. They can search by location, industry, job title and salary. Fabulous site

Cons: Only one tiny dislike, they bombard you with emails . I know I can go in and change the settings but it is a little overkill.

Pros: Easy one click job postings, merged with our ATS to make the job posting process simple, large quantity of candidates (more than any of our other sources), great customer support, easy to track and organize applicants from Indeed website if needed

Cons: Indeed does touch base a lot, but they are just trying to make sure you get the results you want. Sometimes some pushes to purchase additional products that may not be needed.

Overall: Tons of applications and response to most job postings, quick application by applicants using both Indeed and IndeedMobile, lots of hires from these applications, easy to use system

Pros: Indeed is one if those job boards that makes sourcing for qualified applicants easy. It saves you a lot of time on sourcing by providing a handful options to zero in on the candidates that you need or you think is qualified. Perfect for those who are working entry level positions up to your managerial post. Indeed can still be used with your typical boolean string search. Overall Indeed is a job board that each recruiter should have and should be using.

Cons: Nothing really much to not like except for the boring ui interface, but then again that is personal preference.

Pros: This software really makes the initial steps of a job application simple. Job ads are posted, and the user has easy options to apply to or forward job postings to others. Would definitely recommend, on the prospective employee side of the site.

Overall: I think it is great and easy to use.

Pros: Very helpful when you do not know where to look for a job

It points you to the right direction when you don't know where to look

Has jobs that are sorted into different categories for better organization

It sometimes automatically puts your resume and other information into the job application you are applying to.

Cons: Sometimes, there are jobs showing up on the list that are either not hiring or they are no longer hiring

Sometimes, you will need to copy and paste your resume or rewrite it or download it again on the application.

Overall: Overall, the website, indeed is pretty reliable and it helps when I believe there are no jobs hiring at all. But sometimes, I will click on a job opportunity and it takes me to the website just to find out they are not hiring. Sometimes the information and the resume automatically goes on the application you are applying to and sometimes you need to complete the information all over again. One way I can suggest improving the website is to update it on a regular basis to make sure all the jobs that a person clicks on is actually still hiring at the moment and it would also be easier to automatically upload the information applied to the indeed account onto the website you are applying to so that the application process can be easier for everyone.

Pros: The format is easy to use. You can upload your own document or type directly into their text box. The applicants come straight to your in box so you can quickly sort through them.

Pre-application questions aid in weeding out applicants that don't fit the company's needs.

Cons: There are no real big downfalls to the system. It's easy to use and works well. You don't always get the best candidates but that depends on the clientele you are trying to attract.

Overall: Quick applicant notifications. Pre-application questions to filter out those that don't meet the criteria saves time reviewing ineligible resumes.

Pros: Indeed has such a large user base, it is easy to gain many candidates in a short period of time. I like being able to customize my pay by day or month. The job posting process is simple and easy to complete. Their resume database is an excellent tool for sourcing.

Cons: The templates are difficult to use, you cannot create a new template without sending it to a candidate. My biggest struggle is once you reject an application, you cannot find it by searching. You must navigate to the reject candidates for that specific job, and scroll through to possibly find it. I find this most bothersome, as occasionally an applicant gets lost or mislabeled, and finding it is very difficult. Indeed is a great source for bringing on new people, but it just doesn't have the functionality I need in the recruiting process. I upload all my Indeed hires into my separate ATS just to keep it all in line.

Overall: Most of my hires do come from Indeed. For all the shortcomings, it really makes up for it in applicant flow. The ability to customize pay per click has helped my budget and need for candidates work together in the best way. Also, my account manager has also been lovely to work with. He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is going well, and checks in regularly to see if he can provide any help.

Pros: We post all our company jobs on Indeed. The price to promote your post is very affordable, and we get a lot of resumes.

Benefits of the platform

- Simple clean interface

- Easy way to flag users that you like

- Easy organization for making notes

Cons: Sometimes we get an overload of resumes from people that are not qualified. Wish there was a pre-qualification filter.

In terms of the platform, when someone uploads a resume that has been styled (formatted with certain fonts etc) into the Indeed Platform, the styling doesn't get pushed through so the resume looks incredibly awkward with bad spacing etc on the platform. This makes it very difficult to read some resumes. Indeed should put an option to have an document online viewer that can read these various styles and formats.

Pros: Lets me quickly and easily set up job postings and track candidates through various steps in the process. I particularly like the ability to create templated responses to candidates based on specific feedback like if they are the right fit, their experience is lacking, their location is outside the parameters of the job, etc.

Cons: When I didn't want to use the templated response, getting to actual candidate contact information was sometimes difficult to non-existent. Sometimes I could only respond to a candidate using their indeed generated email and that often led to a longer delay in them responding.

The biggest aspect of using indeed is knowing that the funnel of candidates is going to be wide. We would get a lot of interest in jobs we post, but 90% of them didn't meet the very clear criteria laid out in the post. So there is a lot of time sifting through the 'noise' of candidates that aren't even basic fits.
