I appreciate how much they offer for free. However, there's definitely room for improvement. When I post a job ad with personalized questions, I wish I could make all of the answers mandatory. I see a lot of candidates who don't even try to answer one or two simple questions. Maybe that's a good indicator of how seriously they approach the application. Pros Simple interface - very easy to use. Nothing too complicated so it's easy to use even for the first time. Addition to that, Indeed is well known app/website. A lot of job seeker check job ads on Indeed for sure. Cons Sometimes it costs to post job ad for certain job title/occupation. I don't know the exact rule for that, but seems like some of the job ad needs to be promoted (means paid). Copying and pasting from the application isn't very smooth. For a few applications, it might not seem like a big deal, but trust me, it is when you receive hundreds of applications. When we need to fill positions quickly it's hard to beat the volume of traffic coming through. There are some frustrations around applicant quality and sponsored post costs, but for a nonprofit needing to staff retail locations consistently, it's proven itself to be one of the more dependable tools we use. Pros Posting job openings on Indeed gets us a much wider reach than relying on word of mouth or our own careers page alone. For retail and warehouse positions especially, the volume of applicants coming through is significant. The employer dashboard makes it easy to track who's applied, screen resumes quickly, and message candidates directly without things getting lost in email back and forth. For high turnover roles it's honestly become one of our most reliable pipelines for filling positions fast. Cons The quality of applicants can be hit or miss. There have been a lot of responses to our job postings, and I love how it analyzes skills and gives a percentage of job compatibility. Pros Indeed is a handy tool to have when searching for the right candidate. It's easy to navigate and it reaches far more applicants than local advertising alone. Cons The cost is a little on the pricey side for my small property, so we don't use it for very long at a time when we are trying to fill a position. Pros The sheer volume of jobs available to comb through across the entire country at various levels is impressive. Cons The website and apps' interface can be a bit clunky, with occasional lag when filtering through positions.
