Pros The only pro is that the platform is well known, so there are a lot of users to choose from. Cons Indeed is one of the worst platforms, from both a hiring and recruiting perspective. Having been through both sides of the system, I can confidently say that it has been absolutely terrible in both roles. Firstly, the user interface is horrendous. Navigating through the site is confusing and time-consuming, with many essential features either challenging to find or non-functional. This poor design results in a frustrating experience for recruiters trying to manage job applications and job postings. On top of that, when posting a job listing, it was randomly taken down without any given reason. This experience occurred despite Indeed continuously targeting us with promotions and encouraging us to post job listings on their site. This inconsistency and lack of communication make it extremely unreliable for companies trying to attract talent. Given these significant drawbacks, I strongly recommend staying away from Indeed. There are far more user-friendly and reliable job platforms available that provide better service and consistent support for both jobseekers & recruiters. May 24, 2024 5.0 I was able to find some of the best growth drivers in my company through indeed. So in general I am satisfied with the product. Pros The most important feature was how easy it was to post jobs as well as to apply for those jobs. The platform is easy to access from both ends, applicants and employers, which makes it the most popular platform. Thus it provides the largest pool of applicants we can access. Also from my perspective as an employer, it was not complicated to manage applications from start to finish. Cons The only con I can think of is the huge demand on the site, which makes some job posts go down in popularity and they can be seen by less people which creates the need for sponsored posts. " January 18, 2024 3.0 My overall experience was okay while hiring a few new hires. The setup and overall process for setup, posting, and tracking potential candidates was easy and indeed does have lots of advise and articles to assist. Pros My favorite features of Indeed for the hiring process are the skills test, communication, and applicant tracking. When posting for a new hire I was able to easily set requirements and add the questions either suggested or the custom one I created which helped to streamline the process. Cons The resume database is too easily accessed, anyone can create a free trial or paid account and there are no steps to prove you are legit and not a scammer. This hurts the overall process. It has caused a lot of mistrust in the community and allowed scammers to pretend to be our business we were made aware of this and someone was "interviewed" via the signal chat app. The scammers had told this person that they found their resume on Indeed. While all other application sites we utilize permit plural terms, prices, or places in the description and title, your job ads are prohibited from using them in the tile and body of the position descriptions. This is annoying, as it appears like Indeed is constantly raising its fees. In addition, Indeed has simply become too competitive in terms of pricing for our company to continue using. They could, however, hold employers responsible to post an accurate salary and permanently ban any employers that violate the policy, as to give more power to potential employees using the website. Pros I love the ability to easy craft and update a resume, the chat feature with potential employers, and the prompt response most employers give. One time I got a job offer in less than a half hour of applying for a job. Cons Every job listing should have to list an exact starting salary and not a large range or absent information. If an employer is of high quality and cares about its employees, they will post their salary because they know it is fair. The few employers that don't post accurate salary ranges come off as red flags to me because it seems as if they are trying to economically take advantage of unsuspecting people. Indeed could raise its standards for employers posting listings in this way and help everyday workers advocate for themselves by seeing an accurate salary upfront before wasting time with a potentially exploitative employer.
