I have used Indeed both as a job seeker as well as a person looking for talent to add to a team. I find that even with the tiny issues, it is a fantastic first stop for reaching out for most mid-level and entry level positions, technical programs, and service/retail jobs. The ability to mark corporations that peak an individual's interest for the future coupled with the conversation ability with the hiring team makes this the most obvious source for acquiring new employees or locating a new job.

Pros

This software has become the norm for most people in the vast majority of professional and technical fields, but also has branched out to the retail and service sectors. The ease of use for the person seeking employment and the ability of hiring personnel to navigate to those people who fit criteria for their openings is second to none. Indeed allows people who are unfamiliar with constructing a resume to create a basic format and also allows those with existing CV/resumes to upload them along with cover letters. Once uploaded, they can quickly be altered as time changes the information. Many companies allow a direct application via that uploaded information and the remaining companies direct the potential job candidate to the application on the website for the corporation. Indeed also allows individuals who are talent acquisition specialists to send messages to people who are on indeed to determine if a possible interest in a position might be possible.

Cons

Talent acquisition individuals can sometimes not recognize that they have already been directed to an individual and repeat an invitation to apply for a specific position. The only other issue I have found is that people without a resume who use the Indeed builder do not always recognize the need to update their information because they are not prompted.

Overall, now that I have a solid foundation and recruiting process, I really like the candidate diversity it has provided.

Pros

Indeed is so different from any of the other big job boards out there in terms of candidate pool and sourcing experience, though the job posting / application review is pretty standard. Indeed used to offer a pay-per-view of contact information for $1 per view. However, they have moved to a subscription based system, which might be more challenging for individual recruiters, but as an agency recruiter I prefer it. The dashboard is not fancy or bright, it is bare and basic, which makes it more user friendly and readable for seasoned recruiters.

Cons

The basic nature of the dashboard is potential a con as well. New recruiters who rely on call-to-action buttons and ATS integration for candidate management might struggle at first, to my knowledge Indeed is not integrated into any of the ATS I've used, so remembering to search for a pre-existing candidate record and manual resume parsing is required. Indeed also provides an "@indeedmail" email address for every candidate, and tends to populate it's Indeed formatted resume over the candidate's original, so often times their direct email is not provided.

Indeed has connected me with many clients. I have gotten many job opportunities from Indeed alone. It is a website I use daily and helps with steady income opportunities for a small business.

Pros

Indeed makes applying for jobs seamless. You fill out your resume one time on the website and then it's saved permanently. Future applications are just a couple minutes once the resume is saved. Job postings are easy to find and hiring is made simple. I have posted looking for employees and Indeed makes weeding through them simple. I can see how long they have been on Indeed, their resume and profile. Super easy recruiting.

Cons

I have no cons for Indeed. I use this website daily for both employment opportunities as well as recruiting employees.

When you are provided positions that may interest you, you may simply submit your resume and change your cover letter to personalize it to each client. It has enabled me to be more productive in my consulting work. Clients are seeing my CV on Indeed and contacting me, which has helped me be extremely successful in my present career goals of establishing a consulting firm.

Pros

It is an excellent job board with effective applicant tracking tools. Because of its ease of use, it is a suitable alternative for firms looking to publish fresh job vacancies and attract a pool of candidates. It provides free job posting and the opportunity to sponsor it for a better and faster response. Let me offer you a helpful hint: Sponsored links attract more attention and produce greater results. Its large database of employment in a variety of categories contributes to its appeal. It may deliver notifications to rejected or shortlisted candidates by email, which saves a lot of time.

Cons

Though you may search for jobs by nation, region, and job title, it might be difficult to find opportunities that match the given term. A certain job that you're looking for is on Indeed, but you can't discover it for that precise term. This is the point at which the quest becomes futile. Another thing I've noticed is that even after you've viewed and responded to the Indeed messages, it continues to send you notification emails about them. As a result, this gets vexing. The Indeed app's message container does not accept RTF, making it impossible to emphasize a few points.

Overall, I feel Indeed was a great start up for me. I’ve landed a lot of great jobs on indeed & I would definitely recommend Indeed to any person that’s starting their career for entry level positions

Pros

What I like most about indeed is how it’s categorized for occupations & all the filters they offer when the job search activity. The resume build is really unique as well on how they save it to your profile & when you apply you can make any changes to it constantly, as well as choose if you want to omit any personal content information for each job.

Cons

We’ll unfortunately, I did not find Indeed was very help as my work history began to build over the years which brought me to the conclusion that this site is good for finding entry level jobs & supplemental income.

My overall experience is fabulous with the software.

Pros

Its simple yet effective interface is great that really makes the whole experience of job hunting made easy. Particularly like the features that update you either your application is being reviewed by employers or ask you what time suits you for interview & your job preferences.

Cons

All & all it is great to use this tool however the only thing that I find tiresome is that despite building a profile & uploading your CV on the software you have to create your account all over again whenever you are redirected to employer website.

If your company does not have a lot of job openings on a regular basis, Indeed can be a very cost effective recruiting tool in lieu of hiring a full time staff member. The more time and money you are willing to invest in the application, the more beneficial it can be for your recruiting efforts. It is definitely a solid platform for reaching a larger pool of applicants for your position opening.

Pros

When posting job openings, Indeed allows you to be very specific about your minimum criteria for the position. It then gives you a breakdown of how each candidate matches against the criteria, which can save you some time sorting through various resumes. Indeed also allows you to be very specific about your monthly spend, which is important as you are charged a base fee for each candidate who applies for the position. One you reach your maximum spend for the month, Indeed automatically pauses your posting so that you do not go over budget. Its email and scheduling capabilities make it easy to set up interviews with candidates you feel are qualified for your open position.

Cons

Indeed has a large variety of options and filters available when posting a new position, which means you will probably spend a lot of time both setting up and maintaining your job posting. If you choose not to thoroughly set up your posting, you will receive a lot of applicants who are not specifically qualified for your open position, which means additional time sorting through resumes and communicating with applicants. While many of the process are automated, Indeed still requires someone to invest a significant amount sorting through resumes and cover letters.

If it weren’t for Indeed I would have never found the job I’m at now. The ease of use, comfort level of my information’s security and resume builder made my overall experience amazing. Being out of work is not easy and the Indeed team made it a breeze to get back into the job market!!!

The program is super simple to use. I was able to get a resume created in no time and was able to download it to my files for future use.My mind was blown at how many jobs there were on here and Indeed helped me find the right one!!

Cons

Some of the jobs would state that they would be local but would be in states away. I think this may of happened once or twice in a year so it was a minor con. Apart from that it was a great application !!

Indeed has an effective and efficient team across the globe, dedicated to the safety and authenticity of the jobs posted on their platform. The most amazing thing about Indeed is the level at which they integrate with our company by providing the right candidates for the positions advertised.

Cons

Although integration was not difficult for our company, I was a little disappointed that the site does not do a full scan for spam applicants.

indeed software has been a great fit for our hiring needs. Multiple users with vastly different job descriptions can easily upload their job descriptions, turn on their posting, pause when needed and sort through their candidates. There is no need for an admin assistant to take on this task for them as the system is very user friendly.

Pros

There are several features that I like about Indeed. the ease of posting a job listing, pausing a job listing and reactivating a job listing are key to our success. We have a constant turn over in our industry, nobody last more than just a couple of years. So we are always looking for our next great employee. We usually have a flood of applicants that we have to wade through. But I would rather have more applicants than no enough to choose from. The feature that allows users to put a status on the applicant is also helpful. At a glance you can "sort them" into categories to know if you want to continue with the interview process or not. The email template is a huge time saver for us as we can email multiple applicants with just a few key strokes.

Cons

the only con I have with Indeed, is not with the software it's self but with the account managers. I am an experienced user and have been using Indeed for several years now and yet my account manager feels the need to call me at least once a month. I know he has a job to do but I don't need help and if I do, I will reach out. I have spent countless hours on the phone with him and it has not lead to increased productivity. I have come to think that he gets paid on commission which is why he always calls.

I have gotten jobs from indeed but not from employers calling. I took their number when it was available and called them so my overall experience wasn't great but it was not the websites fault.

Pros

Lots of jobs posted every single day. The site has also every kind of job on there with different levels of experience required and in some cases there is no experience required. Most of the positions with show you everything from location to working times and salary to everything in between.

Cons

Some of the positions are already filled; employers rarely contact you, you can pay a fee to get your resume within the top viewings, but if you’re looking for a job, you probably don’t have the money to throw at a website. It would be much better if they remove the post once the position has been filled.

Currently indeed is the primary platform I use to look for jobs. I really enjoyed it the first time I used indeed and have recommended it to some of my friends. Outside the few areas needed for improvement, indeed is a great platform to get a job.

Pros

Indeed has international coverage. They have a specific sub-domain for each country and jobs posted on indeed are from that country for those within that country to apply. I could stay in country A and apply for a specific job in country B

Cons

They don't have a way for an applicant to keep track of their application. The interaction between recruiters and applicants is very low.

My overall experience with Indeed has been great. It is very easy to use and I have found some great new hires with this software.

Pros

What I most liked about this software, was it’s ease of use. I found that I was able to look through potential candidates without spending my entire day at a computer or on my phone weeding through applications and resumes.

Cons

The two features I least liked about this software was resume persing and assessments. Both features are old and outdated. Just because a candidate doesn’t have 100% match to the job description, doesn’t mean they don’t know how to do the job that is being applied to. An employer can’t get to know a potential new hire base solely on a computer based assessment, not everyone tests the same.

I have landed every job with Indeed and have hired many people through the website as well! It's my go-to software for both hiring and getting hired. In my experience, this is the platform with the biggest professional following.

Pros

I have used Indeed as both an Employee and Employer. As an Employee, it's super easy and fast to apply to multiple jobs in your industry at once, and search and find jobs in your area. As an Employer, I love how all of the candidates are organized for review in one spot, making it easy to sort through many applicants. Reaching out to applicants is easy too through the messaging system.

Cons

It can be a little difficult to use the Indeed mobile app as an applicant. First, it makes it confusing to apply to jobs since the app recommends other positions in the middle of your application, so you have to make sure you follow all the way through to the "Apply" button. Then, after you apply, your search resets and it takes you back to the beginning of your search results. It's definitely not as seamless or user friendly as some other mobile apps like ZipRecruiter.

As a hiring manager, we chose Indeed due to the user-friendly platform, the ability to see and communicate with all of our applicants in one section, and for the cost-efficient price. As a user on the other end, I always choose Indeed because I love the ability to write "remote" in the location, whereas ZipRecruiter doesn't allow for that function.

Indeed is one of the leading job search and career advancement tools available. The web site is well organized and easy to navigate. You can search for jobs based on the title or description and narrow the search to specific geography. Once the job lists come up, you can extend the search to related positions using the titles in the jobs which are presented. Applying to jobs listed on Indeed is easy because links are provided with each job post which enables you to apply directly via Indeed, or direct you to the employer's careers page on their website. In addition to job postings, Indeed has a large portfolio of career-related resources which help you to prepare for and execute your job search. There are helpful articles about resumes, cover letters, interviewing and other job search topics. Another key element of the service Indeed provides is for employers. Indeed makes it easy to post an open position and provides employers with guidance on how to create effective job postings. The information employers receive about online applicants enables employers to quickly screen candidates and narrow their search to the best qualified. Our organization has used Indeed on many occasions and defer to it for our hiring and recruitment requirements.

I most like how is easy to submit your resume and have one already on file and also have the ability to upload your own on top of their own resume job search is pretty easy gives you lots of choices and details

Cons

When you're looking for jobs and you put in the town that you live in or that are close to it will give you jobs in the area but when you call her up I see them they end up not being in the area I understand the need to reach out to rule America but at least post a job with the actual area so people are not thinking hey this is only 20 miles away and then when they go to apply they figure out it's 50 miles away

All of the bad experiences that I've had with Indeed, have nothing to do with Indeed. So this platform is good, even if some people abuse and misuse it.

Pros

Everything is organized. By job, position, city, etc. You get notifications to your email about every specific thing you're looking for. So after it sees what you want, it sends those opportunities to you, instead of you having to always go after them.

Cons

Even though most just allow you to submit your resume or profile, you may still have to fill out the application. I'm not sure if that's the employer's problem or Indeed's. I know they had an issue with scams in the past, so some of the jobs listed on this site aren't always the greatest (depending on what you're looking for). So it's always good to do your research.

Pros

Indeed allows us to post and run multiple job postings and job ads at once! We are easily able to view and communicate with potential candidates and schedule interviews! The paid campaigns allow us to set hiring budgets and elevate our posts to attract the best candidates!! We love using Indeed to hire!!

Cons

Indeed has played a tremendous role in our hiring process! We have hired numerous top performing team members through this job board! I wish Indeed would come out with even more recruitment tools to support with HR practices!
