It's a little annoying, but I feel like if they had something in the software to detect applicants no longer active after a few days. Since our business operates in over 7 locations, it is a great way to spread the word, not only to the Job Seekers, but to get the word out that we are now operating in their city. The Customer Support is incredible. We were assigned a specific Support Specialist, which makes it much easier when questions come up or guidance is needed. Our dedicated Specialist already knows our business and I don't have to waste time explaining things over and over. Pros Indeed has a great reputation and is well known with Job Seekers. We find we are able to include all the details needed in the job postings so the Job Seekers are well informed prior to applying. With options to customize how the Job Posting is categorized, details about the job (i.e. location, COVID precautions, etc.), it allows the Job Seeker to make an informed decision before submitting an application. Cons The ability to customize the Job Posting with logos being more prominent would be a great way to improve Indeed. Cons The job searching tool, sometimes when you search you don't get the best resumes or they are older resumes and you don't really know if the person is still looking or not. I found my recent job using Indeed. I was contacted by the HR department at my new company via Indeed. She found my resume and contacted me about the option position. It was a very simple process. Pros Indeed is a such a wonderful way to search for your next employment adventure. Whether your looking for just a job or a career you can find it with Indeed. With their east to use search option you only have to view positions suited to you and your experience and preferences. If your not so good at making a resume then no need to worry when your using Indeed because there is a way to make one with ease. There is even an option for a professional to help you write the perfect one. Indeed assessments are a great way to show off your skills to portiential employers. This is great for you to have a better idea of where you are on certain skills and also to make you a better candidate. You can take any available assessments at your own will and some are required by the employer when you apply for a position. If you don't do so well on one that you decided to take on your own you don't have to post it and it can be hidden for your viewing only. Cons The one thing that I find to be the most inconvenient about Indeed is that you are not able to retake an assessment. I understand that it is most likely this way to avoid potential cheating and dishonesty but it is not fair for those who sometimes just don't test well. This also doesn't allow for someone to progress and get better. Someone may not at the time have much experience with something but could of taken a course or an internship to learn new job skills. When they took the assessment 6 months ago they didn't know as much as they do now but are not able to show off their new hard earned skills because they are not able to retest. As someone who is currently an avid job seeker, I have found many job prospects through Indeed. I like that you can see how many other applicants there are for a job posting, because that helps you understand your chances of hearing back from an employer (especially for remote positions). Cons What I like least about this software is that people are capable of scamming through it. I have often found myself hesitant to apply to jobs due to a lack of information in the posting, or the company having no reviews from employees. I have always found it easy to use and I like the changes that have been made through the years to narrow down significant people for jobs or if I am in search of a job. Cons I don't like as a job seeker sometimes you never hear back after sending a resume, whether I have been accepted or denied I would still like some sort of update. I will say it's gotten better over the years but I wish it updated me on whether a certain business even looked at my resume. As a business looking to hire I'm happy they have gotten better with narrowing down skills and qualifications that send me certain people so Im not just receiving random resumes from people who would be a terrible for. I don't have a lot of extra time so anything to make it easier for me and I don't have to waste time searching for an applicant who fits right through a bunch of people just applying for everything they can. It is not in depth and thus other solutions would be advisable if looking for more specialist candidates, but for high volume job posting and applications, Indeed can be recommended. Pros Indeed is possible the go-to site for both job seekers and employers, and seems to have the widest array of jobs available out of all of the major job sites. What I like about Indeed is its extremely simple user interface and colour scheme. There is no confusion in what you are doing on the site (either as a candidate or employer) as everything is laid out so simply and intuitively. In terms of simple user interfaces, it has to be one of the best and easiest to use. No extras, no unnecessary additions, just a simple UI that anybody should be able to use the minute they visit the site. In terms of employers, I also like that Indeed offers you screening questions to add to your job posting. You can add questions very quickly to your job ad outlining any additional requirements or optional information from candidates, which can be set up very easily and will vastly help screen candidates. Cons What I don't like about Indeed is its weak applicant tracking. With other solutions, far more in-depth applicant tracking and candidate management is offered, whereas Indeed doesn't particularly offer this. While it excels in terms of job posting and job applications, the middle communication needed between employers and candidates needs improvement, and Indeed doesn't particularly give you the tools you need to do this. While it does offer a simple messaging system between employer and candidate, it is barebones and suffers by comparison. Communication for candidates as well is lacking on Indeed. While it does confirm job applications and rejections by email, it does not offer the ability to give candidates updates on whether their application was viewed, where they are at in the interview stages and any potential offers/negotiations - Indeed does not provide this. Although recently, they have taken steps to improve communication during the application stage - this includes number of other candidates, whether the job is urgently required and whether there are multiple jobs available on the same posting. Pros For most employers, Indeed is the fist place a job opportunity gets posted. It's free and very widely used. So, whether you're searching for a job or for candidates, this is the one place where everyone comes together to make the most comprehensive list of both candidates and job postings. The free platform is great, but there are paid services with prices to fit even the smallest budget. Cons I'm scratching my head on this one. With all its free features, there really isn't a reason not to use Indeed. I think the appearance could be improved by changing the font and font sizes to be more modern and consistently sized. Company reviews would be more meaningful if they could be segregated into locations or divisions of a company. For example, if I'm applying for a job in accounting or posting an opening for the CFO position, and all the reviews are from warehouse employees complaining about heat and excess overtime, the company's review score isn't very meaningful. Or, if I'm applying for a job in New York, and the reviews are all from employees in California, that isn't meaningful. I have to search through individual reviews to find those that are relevant to me.
