### "Easy and Reliable File Management "

August 30, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Google Drive has been very positive. It’s easy to use, reliable, and makes it simple to store, organize, access, and share files. It’s especially useful for collaborating with others and keeping everything in one convenient place.

Pros

What I like most about Google Drive is how easy it is to organize, access, and share files. I can quickly find what I need from anywhere, collaborate with others in real time, and know that everything is automatically saved and backed up. It’s simple to use and makes working with documents and files much more convenient.

Cons

What I like least about Google Drive is that it can sometimes be difficult to keep files organized, especially when there are a lot of shared documents and folders. It can also be a little confusing when trying to find files that someone else has shared with you.

Switched from

[LexisNexis Lexis for Microsoft Office](https://www.capterra.com/p/157351/Lexis-for-Microsoft-Office/)

I switched from Microsoft Office because Google’s tools are easier to access and collaborate with, especially when working with others. I also like that everything is cloud-based, so I can access and edit documents from different devices without having to worry about saving or transferring files.

### "Google Drive is essential "

July 12, 2026

5.0

Overall my experience using Google Drive is very positive. I use it for a majority of my cloud storage needs.

Pros

Google Drive is incredibly easy to use. It allows for quick and reliable sharing of files and documents and I also like that I can use it just as easily on my phone as I can on my laptop.

Cons

Organising the files and moving them between folders isn’t always the most intuitive process. Also, the different sharing permissions aren’t always obvious when changing them.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Google Drive

Google Drive is more intuitive to use and it seems to be more widely used amongst the people I need to share files with.

### "Unmatched Convenience and Tools, but Troubling Privacy and Aggressive Pricing"

August 10, 2026

3.0

Google Drive receives 3 stars because, purely as a productivity tool, it works exceptionally well and makes document management simple. However, the corporate push toward costlier storage tiers combined with persistent privacy concerns holds it back from being a product I would ever choose to use voluntarily for personal data.

Pros

The overall user experience is extremely smooth and convenient. Google Drive’s integration across its ecosystem is top-notch—Google Docs remains the absolute strongest web-based word processor on the market, and its seamless interaction with Drive makes real-time collaboration effortless.

Cons

Google has become increasingly aggressive with storage upsells and price hikes over time. Additionally, I simply do not trust Google’s data collection practices or privacy policies regarding user data. Outside of work, I rely entirely on privacy-focused alternatives like Proton, and I only use Google Drive because it is mandatory for my job.

### "Lifesaver for Storage and File Management"

June 24, 2026

5.0

So positive ! It has honestly been a lifesaver for managing storage on my devices. Knowing that my files are safely stored in the cloud and automatically synchronized gives me peace of mind

Pros

What I liked most it is how much storage space it saves me on both my computer and phone. I keep most of my files in the cloud, so I don't have to worry about filling up my devices. I also appreciate how easy it is to access documents from anywhere and share them with others when needed. The synchronization across devices is fast and reliable

Cons

The free storage can fill up quite quickly, especially since it is shared with other Google services such as Photos and Gmail. As a result, upgrading to a paid plan can become necessary sooner than expected

### "Seamless File Saving"

August 21, 2026

4.0

Overall, over the years, it has been a seamless way to get my work done as efficiently as possible, regardless of the device I am working on.

Pros

What I like most about Google Drive is my ability to go from one device to the next with secure storage. I don't have worry about paying for expensive units for my personal and even business document management. I collaborate with others when needed. It is very user-friendly, and I can access my notes and edit them with ease. So far, I have not had to use customer service for any issues other than reaching out about what level of subscription I need to consider for video and photos.

Cons

What I like the least is downloading the drive to my file correctly so that I don't take extra steps to ensure documents are in my Drive.

### "Gaga for Google"

August 12, 2026

5.0

Overall, Google drive is very easy to use and allows our team to work in real time at the same time and integrates well with Google workspace.

Pros

The thing I like most about Google Drive, is the capability of sharing live documents with my team members. We are able to share Excel spreadsheets and each team member can update information across the board in real time and save any updates or changes in data. Google drive is very user friendly. My team and I all work remotely and heavily rely on Google drive for all of our data tracking. It has become an essential tool for our everyday business needs.

Cons

The only drawback for me about Google drive is that when someone adds or changes information on a shared document, it doesn't show who made the change. It would be beneficial to know which team members were adding or changing data especially when errors are made.

### "Easy, reliable and essential for everyday file management"

August 31, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Google Drive has been very positive. I use it regularly to store and share documents and to collaborate with other people. Being able to access my files from different devices is extremely convenient (free plan offer you already good space and service), and automatic cloud storage reduces the risk of losing important documents. It is a reliable and practical solution for both everyday use and professional collaboration. I Never use customer support in more that 10 years!

Pros

What I like most about Google Drive is how easy it is to store, organize, access, and share files from anywhere. I particularly appreciate the integration with Google Docs, Sheets, and other Google tools, as well as the possibility to collaborate with colleagues without sending different versions of the same file by email (with risk of confusion)! The serce filter are very helpful to find documents.

Cons

I don't si real cons of G-Drive. The only real issue is when you have an unstable internet connection and file updating can be not saver appropriatelly but this is not an issue of tool!

### "Frictionless Web Collaboration and Document Editing, but Lacks Native Linux Sync"

August 23, 2026

4.0

My overall experience has been highly positive, particularly for team collaboration and administrative document management. Google Drive excels at keeping files centralized and making real-time co-authoring entirely seamless, bypassing the need to switch between different desktop applications. While the lack of native Linux syncing and the occasional struggle with transferring massive technical datasets can be a hindrance, the robust integration of text editing tools and reliable cloud data storage makes it a highly dependable platform for daily productivity.

Pros

What I appreciate most is the frictionless collaboration and browser-native note taking and text editing. When collaborating on research paper drafts or documenting RAG architectures, Google Docs provides an incredibly smooth real-time editing experience. Document management within the browser is fast, and managing permissions or sharing links with external colleagues is effortless. For general ease of use, the interface is highly intuitive, and the generous 15GB free tier offers excellent value for money.

Cons

What I like least is the lack of an official, native desktop sync client for Linux environments. Managing machine learning pipelines or syncing massive data storage repositories requires relying on third-party workarounds like rclone or FUSE mounts, which adds unnecessary technical friction. Additionally, uploading heavy, deeply nested synthetic datasets via the web interface can occasionally result in hung uploads. Furthermore, direct customer support is difficult to reach unless you are on a premium enterprise Workspace plan.

### "All My Projects - Wherever I am"

April 30, 2026

5.0

Pros

I work on multiple projects and documents from a variety of locations. I love the ease and convenience, security, and access I have to these projects when I'm traveling or need to work on projects across multiple devices.

Cons

I was previously limited to certain functions or by storage capacity, but with the value I was seeing, I decided to invest in the paid/professional tier. I moved my workspace to Google Drive, and it's been excellent value without the limited storage or functionality.

### "Google Drive - I trust my business to this storage system"

April 14, 2026

5.0

Google Drive is, hands down, the best online storage option. I have used most of the competing systems, including Onedrive, DropBox and others. None compare with regards to speed, cost or quality.

Pros

I use Google Drive for all of my data storage. As a part of my subscription for emails, I get a huge amount of storage for the lowest cost anywhere (excellent value). Any issue I have had has been quickly resolved with their customer support options. It is the easiest system to use - far easier than other storage services. I literally store all of my documents on this system and trust it to be accessible for well over a decade. It is easy to share files with my clients and to control access to the files at the file level! It is simple to take notes and attach them to a particular project using Google Notes and Sheets.

Cons

I literally cannot think of a single think I would improve with Google Drive. It just works. If I had to name a thing I like least, it is the AI ability to understand my pdf files.

### "The most convenient cloud storage available"

March 26, 2026

5.0

Google Drive's convenience and pricing cannot be beat. Whether you're a professional desktop user or you use Gmail personally on your phone, Drive is an essential tool for handling and backing up your documents.

Pros

Google Drive is easily one of the cheapest and most convenient cloud storage options available. If you are a Gmail user, Drive cannot be any easier to use whether it be on mobile or desktop. Google's integration with Docs and Sheets makes editing documents and spreadsheets incredibly easy too. Drive is used daily with my company to collaborate and share important forms between departments.

Cons

Google is not shy about about lack of privacy with Gmail and drive. It isn't the most secure option. Their customer support won't even touch the subject. If security and privacy are your highest priority, you'd be better off created your own NAS storage.

May 1, 2026

5.0

Such a wonderful tool! I use it for both personal and business use. I've helped many small businesses over the years, and always recommend the use of Google Drive over other products for file storage.

Pros

I love the ability to upload, share, and store almost any type of file regardless of its size. It's been a game-changer.

Cons

The use of Google Drive in iOS is a little bit tricky on mobile devices and can sometimes require a bit of research in order to complete a task, but it's definitely still worth it.

### "Excellent Cloud Storage and Collaboration Platform"

June 16, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Google Drive has been extremely positive. It has become an essential tool for storing files, collaborating with teams, and managing documents efficiently. The ability to access files from any location and work on documents in real time has significantly improved productivity. I particularly value the seamless integration with other Google Workspace applications, which creates a smooth workflow for communication and content creation. Although there are some limitations related to storage and advanced permission management, the platform’s reliability, ease of use, and collaboration capabilities make it one of the best cloud storage solutions available today.

Pros

What I liked most about Google Drive is its combination of easy document management, powerful collaboration features, and reliable cloud storage. Sharing files and folders with colleagues or clients is simple, and real-time collaboration makes teamwork much more efficient. The platform integrates seamlessly with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, allowing users to create, edit, and manage content without needing additional software. I also appreciate the ability to access files from anywhere and across multiple devices. The search functionality is excellent, making it easy to locate documents quickly. Considering the storage capacity and productivity tools included, it offers outstanding value for money.

Cons

One drawback of Google Drive is that the free storage space can fill up quickly when storing large files, requiring users to upgrade to a paid plan. Managing complex sharing permissions can sometimes be confusing, particularly for larger teams. Occasionally, synchronization delays or file upload issues may occur when internet connectivity is unstable. Customer support for free users is somewhat limited, and recovering accidentally deleted files beyond retention periods can be challenging. While bugs are uncommon, minor performance issues can occasionally affect large file operations.

### "Incredibly Reliable Sharing with a Few Formatting Hurdles"

July 6, 2026

5.0

Overall, Google Drive provides an exceptionally reliable and user-friendly cloud storage experience, particularly when it comes to real-time collaboration and seamless file sharing. It serves as an excellent central hub for team projects, making it incredibly simple to co-edit documents and manage file permissions on the fly. However, the desktop application can occasionally feel resource-heavy, impacting system performance on older devices, and converting complex formatting from external file types (like Microsoft Office) sometimes requires manual cleanup. Despite these minor technical hurdles, its accessibility and robust collaboration features make it an indispensable tool for daily productivity.

Pros

Seamless Collaboration: Real-time co-editing in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides makes teamwork incredibly smooth. The ability to see edits as they happen and leave precise comments is a massive timesaver. Effortless Sharing Controls: It simplifies sending large files. Instead of dealing with email attachment limits, you can generate a shareable link and precisely control permissions (Viewer, Commenter, or Editor).

Cons

Resource-Heavy Desktop App: The Google Drive desktop app (File Stream) can sometimes consume significant system memory (RAM) and battery life, occasionally leading to syncing delays or performance lag on older computers. Advanced Formatting Hurdles: When opening or converting complex Microsoft Office documents (like heavily formatted Word docs or Excel sheets with advanced macros) in Google Docs or Sheets, the formatting often breaks or requires manual fixing.

### "The Backbone of my Work System"

August 20, 2026

5.0

Overall, Google Drive is one of the tools I rely on most heavily for my work. I use it for everything from documents and spreadsheets to marketing assets, archives, budgets, production materials, and collaborative projects. It has made remote collaboration dramatically easier, and I appreciate that I can get to essentially my entire working archive from any device. There are definitely organizational frustrations once a Drive becomes large and complicated, but the convenience, collaboration features, and integration between Google apps outweigh them. It has effectively become the filing cabinet, shared office, and slightly overstuffed storage closet for my work.

Pros

Google Drive makes it very easy to keep a large amount of work organized and accessible from anywhere. I especially like how seamlessly Docs, Sheets, Slides, and shared folders work together. I collaborate with a lot of different people, so being able to share a link, control permissions, leave comments, and work in the same document in real time saves an enormous amount of emailing files back and forth. Version history and automatic saving are also lifesavers. I use Drive as both an active workspace and a long-term archive, and the search is generally very good even when I only vaguely remember what I’m looking for.

Cons

Once you have years of files and a lot of shared projects, Drive can become surprisingly difficult to organize. The distinction between files I own, files shared with me, shortcuts, Shared Drives, and where something actually lives is not always intuitive. Search is powerful, but sometimes returns too many results without making the most relevant file obvious. Permission management can also get confusing, especially when multiple people or organizations are involved. I would love better tools for managing and cleaning up a very large, long-running Drive without having to reorganize everything manually.

### "Project Storage Anywhere"

July 6, 2026

5.0

Every project I start with Google Drive as the main storage point across our team makes it easier to share edits and ideas letting us reach our goals faster

Pros

Frees up a lot of data storage on local devices so more secure files have priority to be stored, which brings ease of use in collaboration with a work team that needs note taking and text editing for document management across the cloud. Great customer support to pick up everyone’s share of work and pick up where we left off. Great value for money since there is now a single pipeline to work from

Cons

The one thing that stood out to me was how I needed to go out of my way to find guides for new features, but once I did it was easy to use

### "Great versatile platform all around"

April 1, 2026

5.0

Very good, able to use it for so many reasons, drawings, projects, photos, editing and instant access for personal and work reason. Would always use it and highly recommend it. Keep up the great work Google!!!

Pros

Able to access my files anytime , anywhere so I don't need to Carrie usb drives around anymore. Using it for work and personal reasons. Great for company sharing documents with different, the cost is fair for company and worth it.

Cons

sometimes files dont sync properly and have issues with the desktop app sometimes not working due to showing update required but after I do the update of the app, it still shows the same message. Can be a bit buggy sometimes. Support is not always as fast as you would like, most of the time it would just refer you to a guidance doc online.

### "Reliable and Useful!"

April 13, 2026

4.0

Overall, I’ve had a great experience with Google Drive. It’s a super reliable and flexible platform that makes it easy to organize documents, share resources, and communicate with different schools and teams. It does take a bit of effort to keep everything organized, but it’s a must-have tool for keeping all the information centralized, secure, and easy to access.

Pros

Google Drive is really great for keeping things organized and sharing info between teams. In a multi-school setup, it’s super handy for creating private folders for specific groups like school teams and PTAs, while ensuring the right people can easily access them. It’s perfect for storing and sharing SOPs, updates, and resources in a tidy, central spot. Plus, the ability to control who sees what and collaborate in real-time makes it really practical for both leaders and volunteers.

Cons

Managing permissions can get pretty confusing, especially when you're juggling multiple teams and folders. Access can quickly become all over the place if you’re not careful. Plus, things can get messy over time without a solid structure, and finding files isn’t always the easiest.

### "Google Drive Keeps You Connected"

March 3, 2026

5.0

I use Google Drive constantly, as it's easy to see which documents get bumped to the top of the list of recently edited, so I can hop in and see what changes, notes, or re-writes were done nearly instantly.

Pros

Google Drive has been an additional layer of connectivity on top of the Office365 programs we use. Some users find the sharing methods easier or faster than Microsoft, and I fully agree. Allowing for the storage of many documents, which can use a LOT of data, and being able to easily access them from our Google accounts is worth every penny, making this a great value for the cost.

Cons

Some of the individual programs within Google Drive, such as Sheets, can be a bit lacking in features, and customer support cannot help with the impossible.

### "A simple easy all device access way to store and keep up with all your files, pics and more"

March 5, 2026

5.0

I pay for an upgraded Google Drive (Google One) because I take a lot of pictures and capture a ton of videos on my phone- it auto back ups to the Drive, for me to access later. I roll files in and out across multiple devices, which keeps my storage on my phone and laptop free, and transfer a back up from my Google Drive to an external T-Drive. It's smooth and effortless and gives me access to everything I need, no matter what device I am working on.

Pros

I have access to all of my files across multiple devices, which allows me to work on what I want, where I want. I use my phone a lot, and capture a lot of data that I may want to use later. Pics, ideas, a name to add to Sheets inside the drive to start an automation. I can upload it to my Google Drive, then access it later when I'm at my computer again. That's a huge plus.

Cons

I am not the biggest fan of the way it's organized or the way it autodefaults to how it presents files. I've tried variations of the way it shows me "views" but it doesn't feel as simple as it could be. This makes me have to search by name or date to find stuff, some times.

Very accessible and easy to use, from mobile, desktop and tablet meaning that you are always connected to your important files. Grant permissions so the right people and teams can access and collaborate on projects. And even after you use the generous free storage you can easily increase your allowance to match your need.

Cons

The offline mode has limited functionality so in areas with poor signal reach you can find yourself a bit stranded.

I appreciate that it's all right there, connected to my email, and is easy to share files with anyone, mostly my clients. This makes it simple and clean to get the final product to them!

Pros

Google Drive is an incredible asset to myself and my clients as we share files and store information. I appreciate that it is easy to share, can handle any size file, and is improving its organization ability.

Cons

I would like to see them continue to improve the organizational tools in order to better organize My Drive. Also, if I am sharing with a client, it'd be nice if it didn't take up my storage, as well.
