My experience has been good overall. I feel like it is easy to use. I like that I can customize it to what I need with folders

Pros

I like using Google Drive I don't have to worry about storage on my computer. I like that everything is in one place

Cons

If I have too many documents, I need to pay for more storage. I don't have any other cons than that.

Overall, Google Drive is an extremely useful platform. It makes accessing, creating and sharing documents easy, and it allows personal, business and client information to remain separated within the appropriate accounts and workspaces. Its greatest weakness is file organisation, especially when inheriting a Drive that has been used for years without a consistent structure. With a well-designed filing system and clear naming conventions, however, it is an excellent tool for storing information and collaborating with clients and teams.

Pros

I have used Google’s products for many years, both personally and professionally. Google Drive makes it incredibly easy to access files from anywhere and collaborate with people across different locations. I particularly appreciate being able to keep personal and business files separate, while also working securely within individual client workspaces. Its sharing features are excellent, and the integration between folders, documents, spreadsheets and the wider Google Workspace makes collaboration straightforward.

Cons

My main frustration is the way files and folders are displayed and organised in the browser. It does not feel as intuitive as navigating folders in Windows File Explorer, particularly when working within a large or long-established Drive. Clients often tell me they cannot find anything, and shared files can become difficult to locate without a carefully planned folder structure. Ultimately, the experience depends heavily on how well the Drive was organised from the beginning.

Free, easy to use, easy to access, and improved both for desktop and mobile use. Cannot think of a valuable competitor for now.

Pros

You can organize and share your files however you like, add privacy layers, manage online and offline updates, and it's just convenient and a quick way to share materials even with new clients/teams you have minimal contact with.

Cons

I'm slowly getting closer to the maximum storage limit, but with a personal and a professional account I'll be able to save a lot of files before I have to worry. It's a shame that online text editing is a bit different than offlinem but it's not a big deal, after all.

Pros

Overall, my experience with Google Drive has been excellent. It is a highly reliable, intuitive, and essential tool for both my professional workflow and personal cloud storage. It completely eliminates the need for email attachments or physical flash drives. Despite minor UI clutter and the occasional need to manually clean up folders, it remains my go-to platform for cloud storage and team collaboration.

Pros

The real-time collaboration and seamless integration with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) are unmatched. It makes working with remote teams incredibly easy since multiple people can edit a file simultaneously without version control issues. I also love the powerful search functionality even if I can’t remember a file name, typing a few keywords or looking through the "Recent" tab finds it instantly. Plus, having 15 GB of free storage across devices is incredibly generous.

Cons

The file organization can get messy very quickly, especially in the "Shared with me" section, which often feels like a cluttered dumping ground for external files. Additionally, managing granular sharing permissions for large folders can be a bit confusing, and it is easy to accidentally give the wrong level of access. Lastly, if you deal with large media files like video or high-res photos, the 15 GB limit fills up fast, making a paid upgrade necessary.

Google Drive is one of the services I use every day for storing, organizing and sharing work files. It is easy to use, works well across devices and integrates naturally with Docs, Sheets and the rest of Google Workspace. Search is fast, collaboration is simple and I rarely have to worry about losing a file or manually managing different versions. For the amount of storage and functionality included, I also think it provides very good value for money. I have rarely needed customer support because the service has generally been stable.

Pros

What I like most is how easy it is to keep files organized and accessible from anywhere. Uploading, moving and sharing documents takes very little effort, and the folder structure is simple enough to manage even when the number of files grows. Collaboration is also excellent because I can share files with specific permissions and work together without sending different versions back and forth. The storage has been very reliable for my daily work.

Cons

Managing permissions can occasionally become confusing when a file has been shared with many people or when I am switching between different Google accounts. I would also like a little more flexibility in some file organization options. These are minor issues though and have not caused any serious problems for me.

Switched from

[Dropbox](https://www.capterra.com/p/143068/Dropbox-Business/)

[Box](https://www.capterra.com/p/148766/Box/)

I switched mainly because of pricing and the overall user experience. Google Drive felt more straightforward for everyday file storage and sharing, and its integration with the rest of Google Workspace made the workflow much smoother for me. It also offered better value for my needs.

Overall it is a very convenient free solution - I wish that the folder management was more like windows file arrangement - especially in terms of sub-folders.

Pros

It is easy to upload files/folders from my laptop to the drive - I also like the ability to search for documents once in the drive.

Cons

The arrangement of the folders is quite frustrating. The files are not easy to navigate in terms of parent child relationship.

Google Drive is an essential tool for my daily routine as a freelancer. It provides a secure cloud environment to store all my client assets and personal files. The integration with Google Docs and Sheets makes it incredibly seamless to share links and work productively without sending heavy email attachments back and forth.

Pros

I really love how easy it is to store and organize all my files in one place. The real-time collaboration feature is amazing because multiple people can work on the same document simultaneously without any delays. Also, being able to access my files from any device with an internet connection is incredibly useful for my daily work.

Cons

The free 15 GB storage space can fill up quite quickly if you store large files or high-quality photos. Sometimes, the desktop application syncs a bit slowly when uploading massive folders. Additionally, the search function can feel slightly cluttered when you have thousands of old files scattered around.

Overall, my experience has been excellent. A large part of my organizational work is stored on Drive, and I regularly collaborate with different teams through shared folders, Docs, Sheets, and other files. Being able to access everything from my phone or laptop makes it extremely convenient.

Pros

I use Google Drive almost daily for both personal and organizational work. It makes storing, organizing, and sharing documents very easy, especially when multiple people are working on the same project. Even the Google Customer Support is really helpful while facing any issue.

Cons

Managing permissions can sometimes get confusing, especially when a file has been shared with many people. Storage can also fill up quite quickly when you have a lot of photos and large files. Recently I had access to 5TB of Google Drive which was surely value for money.
