Before using this, I had no type of structure to anything I did work related. Pros I love how it helps me keep my life and everything work related organize. I utilize the folders to keep all my cases together. It really will take the headache out of a lot of the paperwork side of your project's business. Pros The file sharing is fast, I was able to pull up the project onboarding slides easily, which is very important when you work remotely like myself. The storage plans are very affordable. Cons When the projects are over, I do have to go in myself and delete files to keep from using up all my storage space, but I use the free plan. There can be some minor formatting issues when you are converting from PowerPoint to the Google slides but that’s not a major issue for storage. Pros This beats SharePoint, hands-down. Very easy to structure files move documents that permissions and organize a storage architecture integrate seamlessly with chat and meet. Cons I honestly don’t think there’s anything about this product that I didn’t like, the recently opened feature is good. The user interface is good. It just works and is intuitive. Cons My only real issue with google drive is that the home page was changed to auto sort by "suggested files" and they are never the files I actually need. Pros As a teacher, I have found Google Drive to be an essential tool in my classroom. I use it as an aid to in teaching writing skills. Students are able to share documents with me on Google Drive. Through Google Drive, I can help students edit and improve their writing in real time as we both sit on our separate computers. It is a wonderful tool that I have come to depend on greatly in my teaching. Cons The only caution I have for Google drive is that when you share documents, others can make changes to them. It’s been a very reliable and well-built platform for managing documents across both our office staff and field teams. It does exactly what we need it to do, consistently. Pros What we like most is how easy Google Drive makes it to share, organize, and access files from anywhere. In construction, we’re constantly working between the office, job sites, and home, and Drive makes that seamless. The real-time collaboration is huge for us — payroll spreadsheets and documents can be updated instantly without worrying about version control. It also integrates extremely well with Gmail and other Google tools, which keeps everything centralized and simple. Cons If I had to pick a downside, it would be occasional sync delays when dealing with very large files or when field crews have spotty internet connections. While this is often more related to connectivity than Drive itself, it can sometimes cause brief confusion if files haven’t fully synced yet. That said, these situations are relatively rare. Cons One of the things I dislike is the folder structure when downloading files contained within other folders. It has a user-friendly design and is adopted by students to real life workplaces. Pros I think everyone uses it. It has become the default for so many of us to use Google products and integrations. It has a low to no barrier for entry and is easy to understand, but can be adapted for many uses as well. Something that I recently discovered that has been helpful to my work is that I can look back at previous versions of a document and revert any unwanted changes that may have happened. Cons Sometimes files cannot be shared as easily via Google Drive if they are too large and need to be downloaded instead. I also frequently (when working on large documents, or many documents at once) experience delays, lags, and the forms or apps closing out on me without meaning to, and not saving the work that I had put in. I also wish that I could make more changes or add suggestions offline or when I have less reliable wifi.
