I can easily share it with others, edit what I need to, and create things that help me further my business and career. Pros It is so easy to use. The layout makes sense and it is easy to find things. I can store documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more. I can easily share things with others as well which is very helpful. Cons Sometimes storage fills up fast which can be a downside. We use shared drives, and I also have my personal files saved there (meeting notes, private information etc). It's great how you can set permissions for different files so the whole company or a few colleagues can view files. I also can access files in other SAAS platforms which means I can have a lot of flexibility with my files in the cloud. Pros The web based app works incredibly well, and is the core file storage platform we use. It's smooth, and intuative, everything feels well thought out. Pros I love that you can create folders to easily organize your files! It's also helpful that you can choose who to invite to view or collaborate on a file. It's easy to navigate. Cons Each folder is assigned a theme. The image never suits the folder and there are limited options to choose from to change this theme. The ability to comment or edit in real time is a big plus. We especially love how easy it is to create shared folders per client or project to keeps things neat and accessible for our entire team. That said, it's not a full client communication tool. There’s no way to manage messages, track approvals, or provide a branded experience for our clients. We've started pairing it with other tools to fill in the gaps, but for basic collaboration and file sharing, Google Drive still does a great job. Pros Google Drive is widely used as many of our clients and all of our team members already use it. I love the real-time collaboration that allows multiple users to view and edit Docs and Sheets at the same time, with comments and version control. Since it's cloud-based, it's accessible anywhere. We found it very convenient when we were all working remotely. We already use the Google suite for our work email accounts so keeping within the Google Workspace is seamless. The restore options where it automatically saves versions of your work and you can restore all versions easily has saved me many times. The ability to collaborate and control who can view, comment, or edit is extremely helpful. I also like the ability to do file searches and sorting using keywords, file types, owners, etc. Cons For some less tech-savvy users, sharing settings can get tricky – if you're not careful, you might accidentally move or change something important, especially when managing lots of folders or client documents. Since Drive is more of a file repository, there's no built-in messaging or workflow automation. You’ll still need to use email, chat, or another tool like Slack or Teams along with it. I have found that storage limits add up and have had to purchase additional storage, which can get expensive. The fact that starting businesses can also use it as a free tool is unmatched and unseen in the industry. Pros Obviously its ease of use is unmatched within any drive i've used. I once had to use Customer support and got a data storage problem solved very quickly. Its search functionality is top notch, and as a free service the value for money is very high. My team and I are in constant collaboration using this tool, and for personal projects and home use its very useful aswell. Cons I think some programs should have their own storage within google drive. I like that you are able to edit stored files online using google docs, sheets, slides etc. Pros Google drive is a useful product to use and provides 15gb of free storage which is quite considerate and beneficial for personal use to store files in the cloud. Cons The formatting in files sometimes change when switching between google docs and Microsoft Word or OpenDocument Text files, especially the fonts.
