Pros: The customer service isn't bad when you have questions on how to fix something or to learn about something you don't fully understand.

Cons: Patient Communication system is not my favorite. There are not enough options for Mass Emails to patients. I don't like the analytic reports from Detrix. I enjoyed EagleSoft much better from an Analytical point of view.

Comments: A good product overall!

Pros: Ideal software for a paperless Dental Practice. It has a place for almost everything and is compatible with other applications.

Cons: Still has a few quirks that need to be addressed. Too much clicking of mouse. I wish it would respond to key strokes as well so that I don't always have to use mouse.

Pros: Perhaps if the company purchased all of the programs the software would be more functional in my opinion.

Cons: Not user friendly unless you had all the programs and the proper training . It can be frustrating to use initially.

Pros: Has many capabilities and has many possibilities to pull reports. User friendly and easy to use and download

Cons: Needs updated to match today┬┐s technology. Older interface and image quality, has much more room for improvement

Pros: there is a ton of options to pick from and use. Allows one to pick many ways to get to a end result.

Cons: difficult to navigate in the beginning. Should simplify the use of navigation to get around the application.

Pros: Very customizable and easy to use. I can find and run reports quickly. The features are user friendly.

Cons: Freezes (not responding) sometimes. Other than that the software does exactly what its supposed to.

Pros: Dentrix is affordable and makes it so easy to effectively and efficiently keep patient records, billing/collections, and treatment plan.

Cons: The software has frozen up on me more times than I can count. We were not sure if that was because of the software or our server, but Dentrix seems to be very touchy.

I absolutely loved working with this dental software.

Pros: It was so easy to use. I hated the old program we used before Dentrix. I actually used Dentrix we used another dental system than went back to Dentrix. It made the office run so smooth.

Cons: Sometimes I felt is was hard to train newbies because I was so use to the system it was so hard to go slow. I thought it was common sense but I have to make sure I understood some people aren't so computer sabie.

Pros: I used the system very rarely but when I did it was complicated. However it was a very good system. Using it everyday I'm sure would help clear things up for use. It had a lot of features and was cool

Cons: Since I didn't use it all the time the system it self was confusing. Lots of commands and buttons but my coworkers used it like they were pros.

Pros: I like how simple it is charting patient treatment. Also how easy it is to correct and error we have made.

Cons: I have a hard time when it comes to the perio charting. Its not as easy to mark bleeding and mobility.

I use Dentrix daily to follow up on insurance claims for patients. As well as billing medicaid.

Pros: Dentrix Enterprise is very user friendly and easy to train new employees on insurance verification and setup.

Cons: I would like to see integrated insurance verification features as well as the ability to group primary and secondary claims with procedures and adjustments.

Pros: The software is very end user friendly. Love the design of the modules and appointment book views. Easy to bill out of, and works good with HL7 interface.

Cons: Would like to see updates in the reporting, charting, permissions, insurance features (including verification of insurance), ledger features, as far as, grouping claims with procedures and adjustments.

Pros: no paper record, having an electronic forum really matters. populates interfaced programs with patient data reducing wrong site, wrong patient, issues.

Cons: Six times to select the provider......really! Two times to select the encounter number! you can't be serious! In my arena, I need to interface with a medical record as well as other systems, all those interfaces have been bad to date. Meaningful use? Whose meaningful use? if smokeless tobacco and now marijuana, those need to be included, otherwise, is it really meaningful? The reports are lacking, we need more adhoc reports based on all the structured that is captured.....why do we need a third party program to do this! Interfaces with other applications is dicey at best, i.e. iMedConsent. Why is this a problem? Why doesn't Dentrix Enterprise, destined for use with large dental groups, integrate better with other versions/applications run by Henry Schein. They do such great work with philanthropic organizations, why can't they apply that perspective to the various entities of their own companies.

Overall: EHR development and a paperless dental record.

Pros: odontograph is very nice. I like the selection and color scheme. The trainer was fabulous.

Cons: why do we have to select the provider so many times.... please fix this

The program can use a lot of improvement, it looks like is was made on a Window 95 platform.

Pros: Odontogram is really, really good. The filters are nice, with the toggling of the different layers.

Cons: The note templates should structured data and mineable. The picking the provider with Default and others multiple times throughout the workflow is super bad!!
!! The canned reports are not good, there should be an option for adhoc reports based on structured fields in the database. There should be a report for diagnostic codes used. There should be a report for the meaningful use information that we place in the chart. There should be Periodontal Screening and reporting (PSR) structured data and reporting. There should be a high caries module (high, medium, low) for preventive dentistry.

Overall: One EHR

Pros: I manage a team of 19 hygienists and trying to keep all of them on the same page can be difficult, the "i" button has been the most useful tool for us in patient preparation

Cons: I feel that the printing of referrals to another specialists is confusing and difficult, takes too many steps.

Pros: Access and maneuverability is intuitive and easy to follow with minimal training. Customer support is responsive

Cons: Reporting is cumbersome and requires running multiple reports and manipulation of data in order to get desired results

Pros: Customer support is great to work with, tooth chart is easy to read. Scheduler is easy to read. User friendly for the most part.

Cons: Not being able to add more than one condition in med history. Having to get out of the chart notes, not being able to schedule from family file

Pros: the support team is great, the software is user friendly in most aspects, and the schedule is easy to read

Cons: it doesn't flow very well for our office, the ledger is difficult to work out of, and running reports is a major pain.

Pros: I like that there are not multiple different modules that you have to go through to get one piece of information.

Cons: I don't like that the flow of the ledger. I feel like the dates of service should match up to what money was collected from insurance and patient. It should flow much better then what it does.

Pros: I think that we are able to send electronic attachments. I also like the ledger . Portal is amazing!!

Cons: I do not like that we are not able to walkout patients on the schedule and it go to that specific provider.

Pros: The ease and organization of the charts. Ledger makes the billing process a lot easier to keep track of payments.

Cons: The software really has no issues but it is a hard to get a hold of IT for technical support the wait is a while

Pros: Once you get used to all of the buttons, the software is easy to use. I like the many options to customize for each office.

Cons: Often, there are too many "clicks" sometimes I Junk the computer should be smarter but you have to tell it things it should already know. For example, make an appointment but then you have to change the date on the cc. It doesn't always save it.

Pros: I have no pros about Dentrix compared to other softwares that I have used. I have created a side by side comparison of the use of Open Dental and Dentrix. All features comparison from scheduling, accounts, reports, documents, notes etc. If I had to choose one pro that Dentrix has that Open Dental or Eagle Soft does not have is you can select in the patient's chart if they are English speaking or Spanish speaking.

Cons: Dentrix is not user-friendly. I have used Eaglesoft and Currently Dentrix and Open Dental. Open Dental and EagleSoft are very similar. It is easy to navigate between a patient, account, chart, notes, etc. Dentrix if you search for a patient you have to continue to type that patients name back in to navigate between family file chart etc. You would have to be experienced with both softwares to really see how much easier the use of Open Dental is then Dentrix. All new employees who come in and see the ease of Open Dental love their software. Open Dental has an early 90's outdated Microsoft look.

Dentrix Enterprise is the one stop shop for Dental Clinics.

Pros: The feature I like most about Dentrix is how it is accessible from both onsite and at offsite locations.

Cons: I wish that the Dentrix Client Version would auto upgrade after upgrading the Dentrix Server. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Overall: I have been using Dentrix Enterprise for eight (8) years. I recommend Dentrix for these reasons
Tech Support is knowledgeable, responsive, and professional
Compatible with many x-ray sensors
Features are current and are user friendly

Recommendations to other buyers: Dentrix integrates well with many Medical E.H.R. Practice Management Systems as well.

Pros: This is a very functional application that provides all aspects that are needed for any Dental office. A full package covering from appointments to treatment plans and awesome family charting.

Overall: Amazing dental solution that has functionality that is hard to match. All needs covered from the dentist to the front office users. For all the functionality provided even our new staff members are able to easily adapt to the product. We are a Medical/Dental clinic, so we integrate with an EHR for our billing and appointments which is seamless with the help of support. Supports knowledge is very impressive.

Pros: Easy to use, easy to setup, very customizable, great support, interfaces with other common software. Out performs our medical and behavioral health software for ease of use, implementation, and regular maintenance.

Cons: A little pricey, especially when getting into Meaningful Use. Would like to see less third-party integrations for meaningful use or more options for third-party integrations. Would also like to see a built in maintenance solution.

Overall: Coming from an environment where there are multiple EHR systems my colleages are often jealous of Dentrix Enterprise. The documentation is thorough, which makes training staff and revising our own manuals a breeze. The software itself very infrequently has problems, and when they occur they are usually resolved within the day.

Pros: The ability to jump from clinic to clinic as well as the reports that it allows you to pull out of the system.

Cons: The transition from core Dentrix to Enterprise is somewhat difficult for the clinic staff due to the "visual effects" not being there. This are in a little different place. But once they get used to the new placement, they appreciate the simplicity.

Overall: When we went from one practice to the second practice it became obvious to me that we needed something different then the ability to remote into the other offices computer to see what the numbers were for the day. We were beginning to lose touch with the new office. We looked for multiple solutions to our problem and demoed multiple software packages. After finding Enterprise, there was not a close second. Its ability to jump from clinic to clinic was amazing. The reporting gave us the solution we were looking for. I wanted something that put as much emphasis on the business of dentistry as it did dentistry itself. We now have the ability to stay macro and look at all our clinics (5) as a whole or, with the click of a button, drill down to the micro and find out what our areas of opportunity are with a single line item in a clinic. Without this software, we would not be in the place we are today and would not be looking to expand anymore.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you have the equipment to run the software as well as an IT group that is used to using and running Enterprise. It is not the same as core Dentrix and if they say it is...that is not a good sign.
