Pros

It is user friendly but very clunkie. I just wish there was a better way to view the billing screens

you cannot read the billing screen. Nothing correlates to the date of service as a Medical EMR does

Pros

Dentrix is easy to use and the customer service is great. Very responsive. We use it for billing and will eventually connect it to Athena.

Cons

The patient portal needs to be addressed. It is extremely limited and unusable. With this being a requirement of ACI, submitting for dental incentives is very hard.

Amazing dental solution that has functionality that is hard to match. All needs covered from the dentist to the front office users. For all the functionality provided even our new staff members are able to easily adapt to the product. We are a Medical/Dental clinic, so we integrate with an EHR for our billing and appointments which is seamless with the help of support. Supports knowledge is very impressive.

Pros

This is a very functional application that provides all aspects that are needed for any Dental office. A full package covering from appointments to treatment plans and awesome family charting.

I enjoy how easy it is to navigate this program and how easy it is to teach others how to use the program as well.

Cons

sometimes the program does freeze up a lot. also i do not like that the program makes me change my password... but other than that there are no other concerns.

Pros

This software does bring your multiple locations together and uses a single database. In the past, speed was a big issue but now it is a bit better.

Cons

Dentrix is slower than many of the alternatives, and they don't tell you that your imaging program will have trouble over a VPN unless both sites have very fast internet. Having a multiple location practice is difficult due to bandwidth problems on imaging. You might need to have separate imaging databases for each location. If you do that, then Dentrix Enterprise does what it says, although there are other options out there.

The software freezes a lot. There is not much about dentrix enterprise that I dislike. the ease of the program is great.

One EHR

Pros

Odontogram is really, really good. The filters are nice, with the toggling of the different layers.

Cons

The note templates should structured data and mineable. The picking the provider with Default and others multiple times throughout the workflow is super bad!! !! The canned reports are not good, there should be an option for adhoc reports based on structured fields in the database. There should be a report for diagnostic codes used. There should be a report for the meaningful use information that we place in the chart. There should be Periodontal Screening and reporting (PSR) structured data and reporting. There should be a high caries module (high, medium, low) for preventive dentistry.

Great integration with third party applications if you need to extend your processes.

Pros

This is a very functional application that provides all aspects that are needed for any Dental office. A full package covering from appointments to treatment plans and awesome family charting.

Cons

Don't have a Con. This application actually covers all needs. We have a few remote sites with a central server and don't have any issues.

The customer service isn't bad when you have questions on how to fix something or to learn about something you don't fully understand.

Cons

Patient Communication system is not my favorite. There are not enough options for Mass Emails to patients. I don't like the analytic reports from Detrix. I enjoyed EagleSoft much better from an Analytical point of view.

Pros

It was so easy to use. I hated the old program we used before Dentrix. I actually used Dentrix we used another dental system than went back to Dentrix. It made the office run so smooth.

Cons

Sometimes I felt is was hard to train newbies because I was so use to the system it was so hard to go slow. I thought it was common sense but I have to make sure I understood some people aren't so computer sabie.

Stable system that could use generalized updating. Template customization and medical history field expansions are needed.

Pros

Software allows medical history prompt updates that are inserted to the note. Allowances for BP, Pulse and demographics.

Cons

Cost Support AR reporting customization are costly. Graphics are rather weak. Requiring offices to pay for the support teams and AR reports that are not intuitive is not comprehensible.

We've transitioned from Open Dental to Dentrix recently. Transitions are tough, but I think overall we will be happy with the product once we get through conversion.

Pros

Ease of use is great! I like that it's easy to manuever.

Cons

Some reports are challenging to utilize due to having to export to Excel to do data analysis.
