### "Compared to OneDrive, Nextcloud offers more flexibility"

Pros

We like the possibility that we can use Nextcloud as a post box for guests, who want to share documents with us. We implemented a link to our website where customers are being redirected to and there they can upload files. This is not possible in OneDrive. That's why we chose Nextcloud.

Cons

Too many redundant services. You can use tags, share docs in Circles (group of users), share docs in Nextcloud Talk. But everywhere you have to select the group again. I don't understand the purpose of Circles if I separated my users with the group function already.

In Digipime we use Nexcloud as the basis for sharing documents with our customers. In addition, our services for customers based on Nexcloud have great success in our market for small and medium businesses.

Pros

Simple, fast, very configurable and with the best plugins for connection with third applications.

Cons

There are no cons. The product is good enough not to have any issues to consider.

### "Excellent self hosted file hosting solution"

Pros

It is a very easy to use and customizable software.

Cons

Sometimes the desktop client suffers from some syncing issues related to conflicting files. When it happens ,it is easier to uninstall the desktop client, delete all local files, reinstall the client and restart the syncing process. One of our users forgot to uninstall the desktop client before deleting all local files and it resulted in the loss of several files on our servers, which reinforces the need to establish strict permissions to users.

Nextcloud has been a nice collaborating tool, we can share with easy files across departments. and it has nice sharing features, like making guests upload into a folder

Pros

Nextcloud has an easy workflow to learn, and its a big player in the selfhosted Foss data cloud.It has a widespread support for applications and plugin support

Cons

Nextcloud starts to feel the weight of his php codebase, its a bit crunky and no straightforward to setup. Php struggles with background tasks and big file uploads. big files (over 4GB) sometimes fail to upload and need multiple attempts

### "Nextclould is all I need and more."

I am totally happy with this product it works and every day am Learning something new.

Pros

The fact that It's under my control. My photos, document, and File are saved to my server. If I take a photo or create a document on my phone when I get home it syncs automatically and I don have to worry about it. Nextcloud is all in one I can download upload my work listen to music from the radio app. I use the bookmark feature to keep up with all my web pages, Take notes and so much more.

Cons

A backup process just for Nextcloud, with a time-shift like a program, so that if an update fails So that if something goes wrong I could find a good recovery point and reinstall from the backup process.

Nextcloud Hub is full collaboration suite including file sharing, collaborative document editing, calendar, contacts, chat, audio and video conferencing. Locally hosted cloud solution gives you a confidence only authorized people can access your data. In opposite to global cloud providers the organization gain full control of the data.

Cons

user interface is designed for beginners, power-users feel too many actions are hidden behind options menu.

Besides using Nextcloud for my own cloud implementation (via VPS), I have successfully deployed it with clients who needed a dropbox-like system for the data paranoid, or for others due to regulations which require all company data to reside in a known location. Nextcloud has always gotten the job done without a sweat.

Pros

Available features. Keeping all company data inside the network. Securely share files/folders with others outside of the organization.

Cons

Update process between releases (depending on deployment type) ldap integration can be a little tricky (again, depending on deployment type)

### "I prefer self hosted solutions"

Updates are frequent and go smoothly. Hosting my own cloud storage solution is important to me. Data privacy is the primary reason I chose Nextcloud.

Pros

I primarily use Nextcloud for file, calendar and contacts sync. I like most that it's opensource and allows home users access to an enterprise quality product.

Cons

I wish there was a more complete notes solution that offered some of the same features as OneNote.

Reason for choosing Nextcloud

Data privacy. I've considered using big name cloud providers to eliminate server and software maintenance, but keeping my data private has always kept me a Nextcloud user.

We had years of documentation for our servers in various text files, Word documents, PDFs, shell scripts, etc. By placing the whole mess in NextCloud, we are able to do full text searching and find what we need quickly and easily.

Pros

Nextcloud is simple: It gets the job done, installs quickly, is easy to update and maintain. With Elasticsearch integration it has made finding the right part of our documentation a breeze.

Cons

Is it in PHP. That is really the ony downside I see.

The next cloud technology is very efficient with the oracle free tier program and it does help me in managing many things with hassles. I will advise you to purchase one of its pricing plans if you run a team and you'll like to provide a simple and easy collaboration workflow.

Pros

Next cloud is a better self-managed cloud storage alternative for small or independent businesses. It's quite easy to use and manage.I run a self-managed account on the oracle free tier ( with over 200 GB of SSD) and I haven't faced any issues with it so far. It offers a better storage capacity as compared to other cloud servers.The next cloud storage technologies help me to store and manage my business files and I'm very content with its quality of service and server download and upload speeds are very good.

Cons

Even though for self-managed tiers there is no premium support, however, It's still very great (if you are comfortable with coding and all other techy stuff)...

Wirklich durwegs positiv. Arbeite nun schon etliche Jahre damit und bin sehr zufrieden!

Pros

Wenn man eine günstige/gratis Lösung sucht ist Nextcloud momentan mit Abstand einer der besten Lösungen! Kann eigentlich alles im Bereich von Sharing und hat Apps dazu, wo man beliebig Erweiterungen installieren kann.

Cons

Nicht ganz so schnell wie Google Drive oder Ähnliche Dienste, wobei es natürlich auch immer auf den eigenen Server ankommt.

### "Sweet As NAS of all time"

I realise that I can actually push small businesses (consultation) to use this NAS if they want the core functionality of a shared NAS. Most of the clients that I have spoken are happy with it. This means am also Happy!

Pros

NC is Free and easy to use with my skillset. I just have lots of joy when it included a free mobile application that I can basically use personally and on the enterprise leve.

Cons

NC version upgrade is not too easy going as per my experience. However, spawning another version and mounting the previous files is easy.

Nextcloud has become my solution for everything. All my contacts, calendars, and files are synced through Nextcloud, with files being shared on all my devices using Nextcloud's desktop and mobile sync clients.

Pros

I love that not only can you self-host this server, ensuring that any data I store is for my eyes and my eyes only. Not only that, but updates are quick and easy. Administrators receive a notification in the web interface for any updates (apps, server, etc.) and can easily use the interface to update Nextcloud. Not only that, but there are many apps and services developed for Nextcloud for expanding its capabilities, including CalDAV, Collabora (for editing Word documents), and CardDAV.

Cons

I believe some things can be improved, like better implemented end-to-end encryption and dark mode, which is in beta but does not work with a few things. Other than this, Nextcloud works extremely well.

This tool was the best file sharing solution. I participated in the installation and configuration of the tool. One use that we give the tool is to upload files and share to users through a link that is sent to all users of the company, thereby saving a lot of space in our estorages and backup.

Pros

This tool is the best for sharing files between users. It integrates on any LDAP base, whether AD or Openldap, which facilitates its implementation and integration with your current environment. It supports several applications such as pdf reader, images, email, text editor. agenda among other productivity tools.

Cons

So far I have no problem, the tool always evolves and is very complete.

It is very easy to add a new customer for sharing files in total security. We build the company cloud around Nextcloud solution and we are very happy sofar. Updates are nearly without bugs and increase the tools come togeteher with the basic features.

Cons

Some functionnality are difficult to understand and French tuto are not all available. Not too much support out of Nextcloud web site.

We are using NextCloud to mimic Google drive company wide. We are using object store on top of it. This is very efficient and powerful. We are definitely delighted by the product !

Pros

NextCloud is ideal if you would like to share data across multiple region. Simple to setup, easy to use and administer.

Cons

It just came as a fork of ownCloud, this is hard to decide wether to go with ownCloud or NextCloud

Nextcloud is a great cloud storage software that prioritizes security of your proprietary data. It is highly recommended for companies with very sensitive data to protect because everything is houses on your own data center. It also offers much flexibility that you won't find in other cloud storage software that are available in the market today.

Pros

Nextcloud is quite a unique software. If you are looking for a really secured cloud storage that allows online collaboration among your team members, Nextcloud is your best bet. Compared to other cloud storage, it is highly scalable and self-hosted. Meaning all our files are stored in our own data center. Not on any external servers. It makes you worry less because you know that you have control and access with your own data. It works exactly like any cloud storage. You can migrate all your documents, music and photos to the cloud. And then Nextcloud makes them accessible through any device.

Cons

Nextcloud, while a very secured cloud storage, is not very easy to use. You still need to familiarize yourself with the system so there's quite a learning curve involved. It tends to be slow in accessing the files especially if they are huge files. Setting up the server is very complicated and an average joe cannot do it. An IT person must be the one to set up with the help of Nextcloud representatives. Pricing is also very expensive and not pocket friendly. But then again, you are paying for the unmatched security features Nextcloud offers, which you cannot get from other providers.

### "Your own personal cloud under your control"

Pros

The easy setup and use and the reliable synchronisation. It doesn't trip with millions of small files. It's also great that I got my data completely under my control without anyone else having any access to it.

Cons

The encryption does pose some issues sometimes and especially during upgrades. When using multiple machines that synchronize the same account NextCloud creates conflicted copies in folders that weren't changed in years. Large files are synchronized completely (for example Outlook PST) instead of just the changes.

Pros

Le plus apprécié dans le logiciel Nextcloud est la facilité de collaberer avec le stockage S3. Ainsi, Nextcloud permet la création des portails de connextion pour les utilisateurs.

Cons

Le moins apprécié dans le logiciel Nextcloud est que certains plugins ne fonctionnent pas comme prévu. Ainsi, parfois les mises à jour créent des problèmes pour la connexion.

I own my data and can retain the functionality and accessibility of cloud providers. Add-on model is incredible.

Cons

That is not as wisely used yet. No collaborative drawing designing exists on it yet. Waiting for draw.io to enable that with their add-on.
