They do set a high standard when it comes to customer service, that I've always appreciated. Pros Knit has a very open and transparent platform that involves its high user base with changes/features that should be implemented. It's very refreshing to see when we're able to directly impact the software we're using on a regular basis. Cons Knit is constantly working on improving its platform. There are a few features we've wanting to be implemented for the last year (better ROE management, tighter reporting, better dashboard, etc.) so we're excited to see these features up and running soon. Reports are easy to read and understand. Integration with other platforms (quickbooks, for example) is very handy as well and saved much time for payroll reporting. Pros Very easy to set up and use the software. The automation in there is very handy for business owners who can't spend too much time on administrative tasks such as payroll. Platform is laid out very well, making it very intuitive for most useful features. Cons Not much to dislike. If anything went wrong, customer service is always there to help right away. The very few times I had questions or issues, support was accessible, patient and timely. Pros Once it is all setup, which doesn't take very long, it is super simple to process payroll and end-of-year filings. Makes it also very easy to add and remove people or change pay rates as needed. The employee experience was significantly improved. Pros We switched over from ADP to Knit and it was a breath of fresh air! I love being able to control the income types, deductions, and codings from within the software and not have to rely on customer service. Implementation was easy and fast. We did hit a few technical hiccups as we switched over mid year and the uploads weren't seamless, however, customer service was amazing, responsive, and solved the problems. Cons There are a few reporting features that I am missing, but other than that, I am very happy with Knit overall. Partner Accounting Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Canada's best small business payroll option" January 24, 2022 5.0 Pros We converted from another provider to Knit and love it. It makes running multiple clients a breeze. Billing for each entity can be set as client or firm. Reoccurring payrolls can be set to run automatically. Multiple payroll schedules allow for different employee groups to be paid on different schedules. Most importantly, the self-service functions allow for employees to onboard themselves and manage their own details, freeing up staff for more important duties. Highly recommended. Cons There aren't that many integrations yet, for instance time tracking connections are weak. However, it's improving every month. Review Source MG Mandy G. Pros I have been using Knit since 2018. I like their payroll process, reporting system, easy onboarding process and year-end docs generation. I haven't tried leave and time tracking yet, but going to give it a shot in 2024. Cons Until now I haven't found anything I didn't like. Switched from [SimplePay](https://www.capterra.com/p/202444/SimplePay/) SimplePay was getting expensive for monthly payroll run and Knit app was just starting up. The customer support by email and by phone is responsive and helpful and allows for small business owners to work through issues on their own promptly. Pros The ease of use to setup new employees in the system, allow for employees to access their paystubs electronically and processing of weekly payroll is quick and seamless. Processing of T4's for employees on an annual basis is also quick and seamless for business owners and allows for business owners to do them on their own. Cons Importing/transferring in payroll details mid-year is possible, however, more instruction regarding how to properly do so to reconcile payroll remittances per the system to CRA would be beneficial. Upon processing T4's on an annual basis, employer copies of T4 slips are shrunk and could be more appropriately sized to look professional in order to distribute paper copies to employees. They are very supportive in helping you learn and understand their software. Pros I love that they have payroll specialists to support me when needed. They file my payroll taxes, submit my RoEs, and submit my T4s for me. This is great and super convenient. Cons Vacation adjustments are manual. Coding options for a second Wage expense account need to be done manually. Cons Support articles are lacking - but I suspect that will/is changing as it grows in popularity.Integration to the accounting platform can be troublesome. Manual journal export settings seem to need to be reset frequentlyThere is no option to release all vacation pay owing - which is problematic when someone is leaving a company. Pros The patience and support during onboarding was incredible. It has a reasonable learning curve and the product continues to grow along with us. Employees self onboard so easily. Cons It’s a little tricky to to learn but the support team helped us navigate all challenges setting up policies based on employee type but we got it sorted, and we’re amazed by the kind help we received.
