Overall, Processwire is by far the best CMS available. You can build anything you want with Processwire. We will always recommend Processwire over other solutions.

Pros

We use Processwire on a daily basis. We build tons of sites and web applications for clients all over the globe. Processwire is highly scalable and extremely customizeable.

Cons

I wish that Processwire had an API for us to use when connecting other applications without having to create a module. Something out of the box would be nice. Similar to what HubSpot offers.

In 2013 I was looking for a CMS system that allowed to build an enterprise level platform from scratch, in order to monitor and daily report some industrial processes outcomes. None of open-source CMS offered a fully customizable solution. Even the most flexible CMS (like WordPress) needed external plug-ins with no proven stability to manage customized field. ProcessWire is so far the only open-source CMS that allow to design based on your specific needs, with no prepacked templates. ProcessWire is not for everybody, some technical skill in web development are required, but it delivers the best approach to fully customized solutions, indeed. The customized solution built in 2013 is still there, and after 6 years of continuos growth with tons of contents, it still performs fast as the first day, thanks to ProcessWire architecture and DB management.

\- Extreme customization on fields and data type definition - Clean and logic design of underlying framework - Scalability and performance - Extremely low maintenance - Open source - Extremely active highly-skilled community

Cons

\- Needs web development skills - No prepacked solutions/templates out of the box

Pros

ProcessWire is, by far, the best CMS that I've ever had the absolute pleasure of working with! The codebase is mature, logical & robust. Very powerful for developers yet offers real simplicity for clients. The community is extremely helpful & the main developer is not only accessible but extremely active with the community & development. Processwire is very light, very extensible & very fast. Love it!

Cons

My only wish is that there would be an official PW eCommerce module, free or paid. Yes, there is a 3rd party paid module, PadLoper & from what I gather it's quite good.

Pros

Custom fields, simple API, great community, 100% easy custom frontend code, intuitive backend, Frontend editor, save and simple yet powerful plugins You really need to feel it and give it a try to understand just how great it is.

Cons

Bad designed marketing website Otherwhise there are not many cons, but if you expect ready made templates, you better try WP or anything else. But then, you also need to deal with all the bload PW is clean and easy.
