Before the recent tech (and likely ownership) change this application worked well. But just a someone else mentioned in the reviews- since then updates come out of nowhere and causes major issues with QB including crashing payrolls. Start with Minute 7 but expect to need to move on eventually.

Pros

The product itself for basic time and expense management is ok. You can access data on any device and the answers to questions about functionality can be found on the website surprisingly.

Cons

Only can be used for QuickBooks. DO NOT let them tell you otherwise. We are months into an accounting system change from QB only to find that Minute 7 team cannot actually find a solution to work with Sage software- after we were told explicitly that their team would make it work. 6 months and thousands of dollars later they are saying they can't.

We are simply trying to focus our resources on providing a better experience for our clients versus spending time on low value add activities. Minute7 easily saves us 1-2 hours per payroll versus recording time a different way and manually reentering into QB.

Pros

What we liked the most was that we were able to transition from our Google Sheets time cards (requiring double entry into QB) to Minute7 with minimal training or change to our business processes. The time we save on payroll is just outstanding.

Cons

Expense entry is still lacking in a number of areas. In general, after importing expenses into QB we are having to manually touch entries to align with how we need to account for our expenses. There are a number of fields in Minute7 that are mandatory that shouldn't be (Expenses are not required to be assigned to a Job) nor do we have the ability to specify expenses as Items (Job Related - with the associated Item Type Selection) or Expenses (Overhead). Fix that and M7 will be perfect

Reason for choosing Minute7

Minute7 was the only product that we could find for Time tracking that didn't try to change how we do business to make us fit within their product. All we wanted was a simple interface to allow our field employees to enter time against specific jobs (pulled from quickbooks) - Minute7 delivered perfectly. The addition of Expense entry was just icing on the cake.

I recommend this all the time to our clients over the more fancy and expensive alternative being pushed with QB.

Pros

This software is much more flexible than the native time tracking in QBO, and was so much easier to set up and use than the alternative for use with Quickbooks Online. I love that it can be synced seamlessly with QBO for invoicing.

Cons

Early on, there were a couple glitchy things with the rate coming over from minute7 onto an invoice in QBO. This happened because QBO requires a rate per hour for posting time entries, and minute7 doesn't, so we had items for one employee in particular that kept populating our auto-generated invoices at an incorrect hourly rate. BUT the minute7 support team was great in helping us with this. We learned that if we let the invoices auto-generate BEFORE we sync the time over to QB, the problem goes away and all the hourly rates are correct.

Minute7 has been a fantastic timekeeping tool for our business. It integrates easily with Quickbooks, allows for ease of use when entering client time, has custom reports available, and the price point is right. We work with a lot of government clients that demand a high level of timekeeping accountability, and this product helps us keep more accountable to our clients.

Pros

Minute7 has an ease of use for users, unlike other products I've tested. Just plug in the client, the rate, and the description of work and you're good to go. The ability to run reports per user or per client is easy and saves time when billing clients.

Cons

Integration with existing business products was seamless, especially considering they are a partner of Quickbooks. Sometimes the date ranges on time entry are off, but a simple refresh of the browser window typically takes care of this, especially after being logged in for long periods of time.

### "Don't Forget to Send in Your Time Sheet!"

I love that Minute 7 makes the dreaded reminder from accounting that "you have not submitted your time sheets for this week yet". For me, it was a regular occurrence. I had to stop what I was working on to back track and try to recall what I was doing for the past week! Always a pain and, yep. an embarrassment. This is all the more annoying when the client needs specific details on what I was working on at the time! I get a daily email reminder using Minute 7. No nagging calls from accounting! I can easily enter my time and work description right then! Easy and no pain!

Pros

Ease of use and peace of mind. The interface and overall design is excellent.

Cons

Synching with Quickbooks. I still have to think about jhow to do that. Its easy to do ,but also awkward

Good experience with support and helping find issues. We use two instances for different companies and currency which adds a level of confusion for some users. Like the security (approved/synced) and Activity log which is overlooked by other applications.

Pros

Best features: uploading receipts and having them link to QBO Easy to use and teach others as users as well as approvers of time and expenses

Cons

Lack of connectivity to more than one application. When updates/upgrades are done, they often change the data so that any connections via CSV or Excel import/export are changed, accents missing from letters, extra space, order of fields exported..... Customization, when a customer/job is chosen then only the correct service type should appear and class.

Would like more notifications, e.g. email notification if timer is kept running for a set amount of time based on customer's preference.

Simple to install, use, and maintain. Well worth the cost and much more.

Pros

Minute7 is a game changer. It streamInes invoice preparation, provides every detail available about our employee work on client accounts, and delivers instant reports for tax payments by jurisdiction. Minute7 absolutely pays for itself. We save much more money using it when compared to the low price of this fabulous product.

Cons

The initial mobile app had many bugs, but later upgrades vastly improved it.

We improved our job/service setup time and transfer of information from QB to users and the return of user time entries to QB has been seamless and is a huge time saver over the previous method we had been using.

Pros

We first chose Minute7 based on our need for integrating with Quickbooks desktop. Prior to M7 we were using the QB Timer File program that was difficult to keep current and distribute to individual users. The M7 sync with QB lets us set up new customers, projects and service items very quickly and have it instantly available to our employees for charging time and for transferring time back to QB at the end of the week. We also like the options for having a running timer, direct entry of hours or setting start/finish times. The large data field for time entry notes is also very useful.

Cons

We miss the previous more columnar interface that was a bit easier to use when reviewing and approving time entries. The current interface is great for the individual employee but not quite as useful for the time reviewer.

I like how easy it is, how I can track, make changes, and submit time and handle multiple projects

Pros

I am often involved in a multitude of projects where some are just sstarting, some are in mid-term and some are finishing. Keeping track of time across all of them is really easy with Minute 7 and setting up the projects appears quick for my admin as well

Cons

The reports for the time entered are not as easy to find and generate and then us, send, print, etc. I know that Minute 7 is connected to QuickBooks but in my case I like to use the tracked time for invoicing the clients who I am completing the projects for and that is not really part of how Minute 7 seems to be setup. Not all seat holders are employees of a company to which the time is reported in Quickbooks.

Pros

The software application allows for quick daily or weekly entries related to specific projects. Love the reports feature and options.

Cons

The application was easy to integrate into our platform. I would like for the date to automatically fall under the current day when entering time.

I enjoy the software and would totally recommend for someone looking for a simple, easy to use, platform. The web interface is easy to use. The mobile app is serviceable and not overly difficult.

Pros

I like the web interface that is cloud hosted, so accessible from any web browser. Having the option of daily or week view is a good feature. The search function is servicable.

Cons

There do not seem to be a lot of customizable options available for projects (based on the way ours is set up). If you need to break the project up into phases, you have to enter values into the comments instead of having an optional pulldown. The mobile app could be stronger. If I enter an expense for a project, the next expense should hold that info, or offer a button to continue or reset. It tends to lose connectivity but doesn't log you out, so that is a manual process.

The customer service is amazing. Resolves issues within 24 hours. I can't praise this group enough. We are a service company and without being able to track the hours our employees and consultants bill, we'd be dead in the water. 5 star rating!

Pros

Integration with Quickbooks has been flawless. Use had two other systems before Minute7 and they started to crash because of the size of our QB files. Minute7 has not had that problem and any issues we did encounter, the customer service resolved the issues within 24 hours.

Cons

Minute7 accomplishes all that we need. The reports are a bit simple, but is good enough.

The system has been great. We even have our vendors use it so we can pull status reports throughout a project.

Pros

Minute7 allows you to easily pull reports on all projects or one account. It has been a lifesaver for tracking hours and ensuring I'm billing the right amount.

Cons

It's not the greatest user experience, from a design and feature perspective. It is a fine, workhorse system but since I use it a lot throughout the day to immediately log my time, it would be better to have a more visually appealing and user-friendly set up. It would be nine to have some desktop interface that you could pull up or keep up for noting project time.

### "Does Most Things Well"

The software has worked for the most part, but several times it has been unable to Sync with Quickbooks, and it took several days of back and forth to resolve it. Tech Support is good if you don't have anything strange going on with the system.

Pros

It is saving my team time by automatically exporting the keyed entries into Quickbooks.

Cons

The software has a nagging bug in that it doesn't flag time entries when it exports into QB On-line as taxable items. When I go into QB, I have to go through every entry and apply the taxable flag. This is time consuming. We were told a fix was coming, over a year ago. They also doubled the price of the software which seemed like a lot all at once, once we were committed to using the software. However, we are still using it and paying the higher price.

First one we tried. At the time, price was the primary factor but they have since doubled their price.

Overall, I find Minute7 very easy to work with. I set it and forget it.

Pros

Minute7 is very intuitive and user friendly. I love the recent improvement that allows you to stop the timer but resume it later in the day. Since I often will break my day between more than one customer and/or I stop in the midst of working on a customer, this makes it very easy to accurately allocate my time. I can also easily modify my time if I either forget to turn the timer on, or forget to turn it off.

Cons

Minute7 won't always open on my preferred browser (Firefox). I can usually open it with a different browser, but I don't like that I have to do that.

It's been great, I have been using it for 6 years now. It can be tedious if you have different customers/service codes but the system works hand in hand with our internal systems

Pros

I like how it's user friendly and it's easy to backfill time or pull reports if needed

Cons

It can be confusing when you have multiple entries in the same week that have the same description, it formats a bit differently and it can be tricky to tell immediately if you input it correctly

I think overall Minute7 is user friendly and the app is also easy to use. Our company has enjoyed using it and will continue to use it. I also really like how helpful and friendly the Minute7 support team is. Always helps resolves my issues and does so in a timely manner.

It is very user friendly. Everyone in the office is able to input their time efficiently.

Cons

Sometimes there are updates and it messes things up. Sometimes our job numbers don't show up correctly.

The benefits that I get from this product is the benefit of receiving a full paycheck with the right hours. Since we fill out time sheets, it can get tricky when you work hard hours or quarter of a hour on some days, but Minute 7 makes it easy to figure out your overall amount of hours worked. This is essential to a studio trying to stay on budget.

Pros

I enjoy how easy it is to enter time and the ease of the interface. It is very user friendly and easy to understand which is very helpful after a long day of working in other robust software programs. I also enjoy the timer function which makes the guess work and/or counting of how many hours I work that day not needed.

Trying to decrease the amount of “lost time” due to sloppy timekeeping.

Pros

I use a Windows PC as my primary machine, an Android phone as my primary mobile device, and an iPad as an e-reader and testing platform. Minute7 supports all three platforms with a client that looks more alike than different from one to the next. Sync from QB Desktop hasn’t failed yet.

Cons

Setting up QB Desktop may be a bit challenging for non-technical users (at least as much Intuit’s fault as Minute7’s).

Peace of mind that time is being captured by my team. Reporting features allow me to monitor my team.

Pros

Cloud access. I enjoy the ability to capture time from my desk or in the field. The integration with Qbooks makes billing a breeze.

Cons

Mobile interface. A fully fledged iOS or Android apps should be made for easy entry in the field. Currently the iOS app is really just a scrape of the web interface.

a very user friendly program and has a very organized feel to the layout.

Pros

The option to change your weeks so you can see your hours for the whole month or just a few days is very helpful.

Cons

I wouldn't say anything is hard. the only thing I would like to see is being able to see your total hours per category. So if i log a bunch of deferent hours to one client I can see an overall.

I get a record of my time worked at YSI and then from that I get paid.

Pros

The thing I like the most about minute7 is that it is user friendly to just about anybody who can turn on a computer. It is straight to the point and I like using it to record my time for Youth Science Institute.

Cons

The thing I really do not like and it is the only thing that I have an issue with is the admin property. many times in order to use minute7 I have to put in a new password. the only way to do this is to get admin support. It is very difficult and hard to do this. I even have to go to the human resource person and they have to make up the password. It is very frustrating. And the passwords are hardly ever ones that you can remember.
