About SlideMight

Merge your data easily with PowerPoint presentations; both text and images, in slides and tables. SlideMight is in principle similar to mail merge, but it has more advanced features. Its usage is not just restricted to wall projection, but also extends to desktops and pads: you can easily navigate via contents tables with thumbnails. Great for real estate brokers, art galleries, campaign planners etc.

Pros: Using three different YAML data files, I was able to automatically generate three different PowerPoint presentations containing up to 774 slides, including graphics, from a single nine-slide pattern file. The presentations include hyperlinks and navigation buttons that make it possible to get from any slide to any other slide with a maximum of four clicks. For the complete review, including the sample presentation, all input data, and contact information for the author, refer to . The resulting PowerPoint presentations satisfy all requirements. The author is not aware of any other tool that would have made this possible.

Cons: Some customizations require a deeper understanding of the subtleties of SlideMight and PowerPoint. Some commands must be entered as alt-text; this is not always obvious when looking at a pattern file and trying to figure out how it works. The SlideMight manual is missing information on some of the subtleties of SlideMight. SlideMight could be improved by including pattern files demonstrating alternative techniques.
