The developer has provided many useful teaching videos online and is extremely accessible for any additional questions. Pros Through learning the program, I greatly appreciate having been able to streamline my accounting system that was seriously messed up from trying to work around the hidden Quickbooks processes. It is also very easy to spot entry errors and to balance the cash accounts because of the simplicity of the system. Cons Inability to see individual vendor information. Switched from [QuickBooks Desktop](https://www.capterra.com/p/212058/QuickBooks-Desktop-Pro/) Quickbooks abandoned its standalone program, having chosen to charge an exorbitant subscription price to keep the program up-to-date and secure. LedgerLite is very affordable and much more secure than Quickbooks ever was. After the free trial period ended, purchasing LedgerLite was a no-brainer. LedgerLite is flexible enough to handle my small businesses books, its helped me learn the fundamentals of double entry accounting, and has put me in the drivers seat of my businesses finances with easy and customizable reporting. Pros Not cloud based, gives your tools needed Cons If your new to bookkeeping (like me) there is a bit of a steep learning curve. But don't give up, once you get it you will no longer be a slave to the big corporates that charge you monthly subs to keep you dumb and steal your data. I'm a retired certified public accountant and I know the problems with competing software that have "never-ending" but "useless" enhancements and and subscription price increases. LedgerLite was an answer to prayer. It took me only a few days to transfer all of the data from the spreadsheets into LedgerLite and now I keep everything current in less than an hour a week. Pros Easy to learn using available YouTube videos.Low cost.Simple and easy to use.Covers all basic accounting needs. Cons Limited reports available.Not well-know in the United States. Pros For one time, very affordable payment, we got a highly effective double-entry accounting system with intuitive and simple user interface. I am a CPA with over 30 years of work in public accounting in the U.S. and have used all sorts of accounting software over the years. Recently, I came across LedgerLite and was happily surprised by how I was able to start using the software right away and generate all essential reports. Especially with ability to import and export data in csv format, LedgerLite has the ability to interface with other data processing applications. I initially was somewhat stumped by the entries were ordered in the trial balance report. Initially, TB grouped accounts by expense, income, asset, liability and equity and ordered by account number within the groups. I needed the TB to list entries simply by account numbers. When I submitted support request to Responsive Software, the program was quickly updated within a day. Truly impressed and very thankful that I found this software. Cons Not as many feature sets as other accounting software. But actually not a disadvantage since the simplicity of user interface is one of its advantage for me. I input My bank statements monthly and then can print out reports when necessary to give to my bookkeeper who prepares my taxes. It is all so easy and is now not a frustrating experience for tax time. Pros Do not need to be an accountant or have accounting degree. Set up and running in minutes. Develop your own Chart of Accounts to meet your business needs. Reports are easy to create and understand. Double entry ensures accuracy. I especially like the ease of use, not complicated at all!! Cons I cannot find fault with this software. It is perfect for my business as I am self-employed.
