Overall, my experience with Backlog has been positive. It is a reliable and straightforward project management tool that helps teams stay organized and collaborate efficiently. It is especially useful for teams that want a simple, no-overcomplicated system for managing tasks, issues, and files. With a few improvements in advanced features and reporting, it could be even better.

Pros

Backlog is very easy to use and well-suited for project and task management, especially for small to mid-sized teams. The interface is clean and intuitive, making it simple to track tasks, manage deadlines, and collaborate with team members. I particularly liked how issues, milestones, and files can be organized in one place, which helps keep projects structured. The learning curve is low, so new users can start working quickly without much training. It also offers good value for money compared to many other project management tools.

Cons

While Backlog works well for basic and intermediate project management, it can feel limited for very large or complex projects. Some advanced features and integrations available in other tools are missing. The UI, although simple, could be more modern, and reporting options could be improved with more customization.

My experience has been very positive. It’s a robust, stable platform that specifically caters to development teams who want to keep their code and their tasks under one roof.

Pros

love that it integrates Git/SVN repositories directly with task management. Having the wiki, file sharing, and bug tracking in one place prevents "tool fatigue." The "Gantt Chart" feature is also included by default, which helps visualize timelines without needing extra plugins.

Cons

The user interface feels a bit dated compared to newer tools like Linear or Monday.com. Also, the mobile app is functional but lacks some of the advanced features available on the desktop version.

It is no-frills task management. Easy to use and learn for everyone. It does the basics, but gets them right. It is not super customizable, but at the same time that makes it easy to manage.

Pros

It is simple and to the point. No fancy things, just task management. The plans are affordable, and it's easy to get started for anyone.

Cons

A little more customizability to add, remove or rename certain categories would be great. Can be long to input information with multiple clicks required.

I really enjoyed being able to organize tasks for my team in a place where they could all view it clearly.

Pros

I liked the ability to organize my backlog for my team well and found good value for my money. I found there to be a small learning curve.

Cons

I dont know how well customer service is because i didnt use it for anything throughout my project so its not really a bad thing yet.

Backlog by Nulab is a project management and development collaboration tool that feels straightforward and practical. It combines task tracking, bug reporting, and documentation with built-in Git/SVN repositories, so teams can manage both project work and code in one place. Most people find it easy to pick up and reliable for day-to-day work, especially for software teams that want clear visibility into tasks and issues without a lot of complexity. Its strengths are simplicity, integrated collaboration features, and good support for Agile workflows. At the same time, it isn’t the flashiest tool on the market — some users feel the interface looks a bit dated, and advanced reporting or customization isn’t as flexible as in some competing tools. In human terms: it’s solid and dependable for getting work done, but it won’t wow you with bells and whistles.

Pros

Simple, easy-to-use interface with solid issue tracking and good Git/Wiki integration. Hope everyone

Cons

Limited reporting andd customization, and the UX/UI feels somewhat outdated compared to newer tools.

Overall I am relieved I no longer have to switch back and forth between WhatsApp and Google Drive. It makes sure that both the frontend and backend developers do not bug me about SOPs, since everything is simply available in one location.

Pros

We've used Backlog with moderate success up until we had many times more users, well this has done that same as of today but now I don't have to explain to each teacher what it is they're doing. That's cool, I didn't even have to send a techie in to install the whole system.

Cons

Although the mobile app is very difficult to use and has serious lag problems. I absolutely detest the fact that you cannot remove a Channel if you created it within a Space or Folder (which is kind of ridiculous). And I also think it is silly that I cannot enable my Camera for Clips.

Reasons for choosing Backlog

Jira is more expensive than Backlog that is why I chose Backlog.

Overall, my experience with Backlog has been positive. It is easy to use, reliable, and well-suited for teams that want straightforward project and task management without unnecessary complexity. The low learning curve, strong collaboration features, and integrated issue tracking make it effective for day-to-day work, especially for small to mid-sized teams. While it lacks some advanced customization and reporting features, it delivers consistent performance and good value for money.

Pros

Backlog offers great value for money with a balanced set of features at a reasonable cost. Its customer support is responsive and backed by clear documentation, making issue resolution easy. The platform has a very low learning curve due to its clean and intuitive interface, allowing teams to get started quickly. Project and team collaboration are seamless with centralized task tracking, real-time updates, comments, and notifications that keep everyone aligned. Task management is efficient with clear priorities, statuses, milestones, and deadlines. While employee management is basic, the user roles and access controls are sufficient for managing teams effectively within projects.

Cons

What I liked least about Backlog is the limited customization and reporting options. Advanced analytics, dashboards, and workflow customization are fairly basic compared to some competitors. Employee management features are minimal, and the UI, while clean, can feel slightly dated for power users who need deeper insights and automation.

We made the switch to Backlog for its simplicity and ease of use. Compared to our previous tool, Backlog offered a cleaner interface, faster onboarding for the team, and built-in issue tracking with Git integration, which improved collaboration and reduced tool complexity. It provided better value for money while still meeting our core project management needs.

Reasons for choosing Backlog

We chose Backlog because it best aligned with our team’s needs for integrated development-focused project management and strong issue tracking. Backlog excels at combining task tracking, project planning, and bug/issue management in one place — making it particularly suitable for software and technical projects where version control and backlog prioritization matter most. Backlog’s ease of setup and intuitive interface helped our team get started quickly, and the value it provided at lower pricing tiers suited our budget better than some alternatives. Compared to Wetasker, Backlog offers more comprehensive project management features. Wetasker focuses mainly on basic task and milestone tracking and simple collaboration, whereas Backlog brings structured issue tracking, customizable workflows, and timeline visualizations — giving us deeper control over complex tasks and deliverables. Compared to Monday.com, we found Backlog to be simpler to adopt and more focused on core development workflows. Monday.com is strong in customization and visual dashboards, but its broader feature set and pricing can be overwhelming or less cost-effective for smaller teams focused on Agile backlog and issue management. Backlog’s streamlined focus on tasks, issues, and collaboration made it a better fit for our specific process.

We also appreciate your honest feedback around customization, reporting, and advanced analytics. Overall, my experience with Backlog has been positive. It’s a reliable tool for managing projects and keeping teams aligned. It works especially well for small to medium-sized teams that want a simple, no-frills way to organize tasks and track progress without feeling overwhelmed.

Pros

Backlog is very easy to use and doesn’t have a steep learning curve. The interface is clean and organized, which makes it simple to track tasks, bugs, and project progress. I also like how issues, comments, and file sharing are all in one place, making team collaboration straightforward.

Cons

Occasionally, I experience login issues on the mobile app, where I’m unable to sign in. This doesn’t happen often, but it can be inconvenient when accessing projects on the go.
