I work with server setup and administration. Tool installation is simple and straight forward. Any problem or doubts you might have are quickly answered by the support team. My overall experience with aPriori has been really great. They have a very talented workforce and the Customer Support is EXCELLENT.

Pros

This is a great tool for costing parts and tools. Great integration with other CAD tools.

Cons

You need a license for most options and for each user.

We are not able to utilize aPriori in our quoting workflow due to the lack of correlation with provided quotes.

Pros

It is easy to use but requires some training to be proficient

Cons

We were never able to correlate estimates generated by aPriori compared to actual quotes provided by our suppliers. So it is essentially useless as a quoting tool.

Pros

A great tool to create the collaboration and transparency between the supplier and sourcing to build Robust Supplier relationships.

Cons

As a company that designs alot of products from extrusions it would be nice to have the ability to upload that extrusion file to use in the costing analysis

Had a hard time at the beginning learning the use of the Software, however i get an online training given by them, and it was really useful. Now i'm looking for savings opportunities.

Pros

Ease of use. Reporting tools ( Cost Insight) Adaptability for our company

Long Customization process. Separate purchased licenses for full experience

Pros

Working fine in single part sheet metal other feature like bending/ hole/slot/cut out etc

Cons

Non Metal like rubber and composite material cost not able to calculate Fabrication part welded unable to calculate cost

Pros

The software makes it readily apparent to the designer the cost of design features or requirements before you receive the final quote from our suppliers. The software helps you understand the cost drivers for your particular part so when you send your design out for quoting you can tell if the bids are the best or if further refinement is needed.

Cons

It takes time... you have to really dig into the details of your part and translate that into the software and that is time consuming. If there was a way to streamline that process it would get more traction.

Easy tool to learn but lacking accuracy when costing aerospace components. Potential is there and the tool is improving regularly.

Pros

Easy to upload CAD files and fairly intuitive to assign special tolerances.

Cons

Inaccurate costing of outside processes for aerospace. Unable to handle the tight tolerances we require for our products. Many aerospace raw materials are not yet available for selection.
