### "Easy to use, beautiful product with great support!"

December 20, 2018

5.0

Pros

Ease of use - our non-legal stakeholders can intuitively use the product and love how it works! Clean UI - no unnecessary options, everything make sense Great support - very responsible support who've been able to help us out in a pinch The self-service option is getting better and better - excited about the potential!

Cons

Wish that some of the newer features would be implemented into the older workflows faster (we are just now finding out about some features that have been available for a long time but weren't reflected in our workflows)

### "Call for improvement "

October 5, 2025

5.0

Pros

I like about the user friendly interface and collaboration it got. The UI is clean and intuitive; less technical and one can get up to speed. Collaboration tools (e.g. comments, version control) are appreciated.

Cons

Document editing & version If documents need serious redlining or PDF-to-Word edits, the workflow can be clunky especially when you are downloading/uploading outside of the system.

### "Ironclad is just Okay"

April 9, 2025

3.0

Ironclad is okay but i feel like it could be more intuitive and easier to navigate

Pros

I think the best thing about ironclad is being able to have an audit trail when working on sending out quotes

Cons

Ironclad is sometimes hard to find the specific step/message you are looking for. Threading could be better

### "An easier, more streamlined CLM system."

January 27, 2025

4.0

Overall experience has been so positive that we are going to move off of DocuSign entirely and over to Ironclad. We believe they are better positioned with their product roadmap to support our company as we scale in the coming years.

Pros

The user interface is a lot cleaner than most other CLM software, and it's clearly been designed with integrations in mind. It's a surprise when these integrations don't work perfectly, because usually they do.

Cons

As a very forward-looking product, I wish there was more prescriptiveness within the product that shows you what best-in-class CLM looks like. As it exists, it's very choose your own adventure which is daunting if you don't have a full-time admin.

### "Powerful but rigid tool that covers all the needs of SMBs"

September 9, 2022

4.0

Contract workflows took some time to create and perfect but the functionalities are there, though sometimes not apparent. - Customer Service is helpful and turnaround time is usually 1-2 days. - UI is passable. Takes some time for end-user to learn. - Contract management - Database is useful, with no powerful proximity search like some competitors, but it's functional. Version control is built-in and apparent.

Pros

\- The ability to send and receive new versions of documents through email without the need to download/upload to existing Ironclad workflow is very convenient. - Built-in text editor with ability to @comment someone in-line is useful for minor redlines and collaborating internally (but UI still needs work). - Activity feed and email tracking (when enabled through a CC) allows for storage of discussions around redlines so that future teammates can look back at contract negotiations without having an admin search through a previous employee's inbox, for example. - Salesforce integration works flawlessly - Docusign integration lacks visibility but it's good enough

Cons

\- Getting workflows set up to cover possible permutations and outliers was 2 months-long, aggravating experience. The problem lies in that changes to a workflow template will not affect in-flight contracts, so you would have to take the docs out of Ironclad and go through email/Docusign, which cancels the need for Ironclad. Most of the time, you don't discover you need to change a workflow until you are already in the middle of contract negotiations. Some examples: - Our signer was OOO, but we did not set up a backup signer in the workflow template. All of his in-flight contracts had to be restarted or taken down to email and counterparties had to be contacted manually. - An in-flight contract needed to add an addendum page to the packet, and this doc had to be signed by Counterparty. However, we didn't build-in an addendum page possibility into the workflow, so we couldn't get it signed along with existing docs. Had to download all and go through email/Docusign, then re-upload to Ironclad repository.

### "Ironclad Review"

September 12, 2022

5.0

Overall I have nothing but good things to say about Ironclad. Each Ironclad representative I have had the pleasure to speak with has been polite, helpful and professional. The application itself has been so easy to use, I have really enjoyed building out the workflows and training my team, and I have no programming application background at all. I would highly recommend this application to anyone. You will not regret using Ironclad.

Pros

I like how easy the application is. I took the Developer training and was ready to build out the workflows after the first training session. It was easy to pick-up and I felt like Ironclad gave me all the tools I need to be successful right out of the gate. The customer service has never been lacking, from the first day until now, and the application is so easy to use, it has been easy to roll the application out for everyone and get them in and using it with ease.

Cons

I see a lot of potential with the application, as for as additional functionality. And when I have offered suggestions to Ironclad, I do feel like they have taken these suggestion and actually implemented them. The only true Con I can think of is a better "audit" trail of the back end (like somewhere to see a date and time stamp of when users are added, removed, given permissions, etc.)

### "Invaluable Tool for Legal Negotiations"

October 15, 2025

5.0

Overall experience has been phenomenal. I think it is a necessary tool for any organization that has contracts with customers or other businesses.

Pros

Ironclad is a great tool to keep track of contract redlines for our legal team. It gives us a streamlined way to negotiate contracts with our customers and maintains an audit trail for record keeping. It is an intuitive interface that allows us to easily send and receive documents throughout the negotiation process, and it is integrated with Outlook.

Cons

There's nothing I don't like. It does exactly what we need it to, which is streamlining contract negotiations with our customers and maintaining an audit trail for record keeping.

### "Pros of Ironclad"

December 19, 2018

4.0

All legal request use to go through an email distribution list to our entire legal department. There was no assignment, no accountability, and no approval chain. Ironclad fixed our email overload and made approval, signing authority, and back end filing issues disappear.

Pros

For me, hand downs, it is ease of use. We needed a system that could be easily be adopted by not only our legal team, but everyone in our company. Ironclad was designed for legal departments and it is taking a complex process and making it simple. We have expanded use to so many other departments solely because it is easy to use and has been so widely adopted by our users.

Cons

I titled my review "Pros of Ironclad" because there really are no cons. Sure, I would love some features that are currently not offered, but I don't consider this a con. They are very receptive to requests and make efforts to get me want I'm looking for.

### "Ironclad is a top tier contract management platform. "

July 21, 2023

5.0

Pros

The template editor is my personal favorite feature. Creating clauses or "if/then" edits allowed us to create more contract templates than we initially thought. The editor is super easy to use, but the Ironclad "Academy" has helped me on several occasions. I was able to get answers to my question without reaching out to the Ironclad support team.

Cons

As of today, I have not seen any downsides to this product.

### "Best Thing to Streamline Our Contracting Process"

September 6, 2022

5.0

Pros

Since we use a lot of the same agreements project after project, it is critical to save time through standardization and automation. Ironclad encouraged us to take that step to facilitate the contracting process to get contracts signed faster than we ever have. The Support team is also amazing, as I've recommended features that have been implemented in later versions of the program, and they really listen to their users and want to make sure we are taking advantage of all Ironclad has to offer. And our business users absolutely love it!

Cons

I can't really say there is anything I like least about the software because I know that it is constantly changing and improving. Whatever I say I don't like about it now, I'm sure there will likely be an update in the future that will remedy it.

### "Ironclad Review"

September 7, 2022

4.0

The overall experience has been positive and I would recommend Ironclad to any organization looking for a contract management solution.

Pros

Ironclad is easy to use and allows teams to efficiently edit and execute contracts in a collaborative manner.

Cons

There are still some features that are not available such as the parent-child relationship and being able to see who is currently reviewing the draft of the contract. However, the solution is improving with each new release and these features will be available soon.

### "Great UX and Potential for Transforming Contracting Process"

July 23, 2018

4.0

Great customer service, willingness to respond to questions/feature requests, good understanding of the legal contracting process.

Pros

Clean UX. Easy for business to use. Intuitive processes.

Cons

My experience has been a good one but not a great one. I believe the right intentions are there, hopefully it gets actualized.

Pros

The fact that I can look at the platform and see the history of what has gone on with every contract

Cons

The fact that I am not able to use it for Amendments. It seems to only work for new Agreements which isn't useful for me as I am constantly Amending contracts. With Ironclad not having functionality for Amendments, it is difficult to link the main Agreement with subsequent Amendments--this needs to be fixed.

### "Powerful Contract Management Platform with Excellent Automation"

July 15, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with Ironclad has been positive. The platform simplifies the entire contract lifecycle by combining document creation, approvals, electronic signatures, and secure document management in one place. It has helped improve efficiency, reduce manual administrative tasks, and provide better visibility into contract status. Although there is a learning curve during implementation, the long-term benefits make it a valuable solution for organizations that handle a high volume of contracts.

Pros

Ironclad provides a streamlined way to create, review, approve, and manage contracts in one centralized platform. The document workflows are intuitive, electronic signatures are easy to use, and the automation features help reduce manual work. I also appreciated the powerful search functionality and centralized contract repository, which make it easy to locate documents quickly. It also integrates well with other business tools and improves collaboration between legal and business teams.

Cons

The initial setup and customization can take time, especially for organizations with complex workflows. Some advanced features have a learning curve, and occasional updates may require users to adjust to interface changes. Pricing may also be a consideration for smaller businesses with limited budgets.

### "Powerful, Intuitive Contract Automation for Growing and Enterprise Teams"

August 31, 2026

4.0

Ironclad transforms legal ops from a bottleneck into a business enabler. By automating routine NDA generations, sales agreements, and vendor contracts, it frees up internal legal teams to focus on strategic work. The interface feels like a modern SaaS product rather than legacy legal software, ensuring high adoption rates across departments. While implementation demands initial effort and the software commands a enterprise-grade price tag, the efficiency gains, reduced approval cycle times, and clear audit visibility make it a top-tier choice for growing organizations. Value for Money: 4 / 5 — Ironclad is a premium Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution. While it sits on the higher end of the price spectrum—often making it cost-prohibitive for small startups—the ROI in saved legal hours, automated review workflows, and risk reduction heavily justifies the investment for mid-market and enterprise organizations. Ease of Use: 4.5 / 5 — The user interface is significantly cleaner and more modern than legacy enterprise CLM software. Business users across sales, HR, and procurement can generate and track contracts easily without needing constant hand-holding from legal. Learning Curve: 3.5 / 5 — Everyday standard users (sending contracts, signing, redlining) pick up the interface in minutes. However, building out complex, multi-variable administrative workflows or setting up intricate integrations requires a steeper onboarding period. Document Signature: 5 / 5 — Seamless execution. Ironclad’s native Clickwrap and embedded e-signature tools eliminate extra friction, while integration with external tools like DocuSign or Adobe Sign works out of the box. Contract Management: 4.5 / 5 — Exceptional end-to-end coverage. From initial intake and automated drafting to real-time Microsoft Word redlining and final approval routing, the platform keeps stakeholders synced across the entire lifecycle. Document Management & Storage: 4 / 5 — Centralizing post-signature contracts into a searchable repository with automated metadata tagging works very well. Search accuracy for legacy/historical PDF uploads can occasionally be finicky, but overall visibility into renewal dates and key terms is strong. Performance and Speed: 4.5 / 5 — High-speed performance with crisp response times, quick document processing, and rapid workflow triggers. It eliminates the lag and clunky load times common in older legal tech platforms.

Pros

Intuitive Workflow Builder: Designing conditional logic for approvals (e.g., routing automatically to legal if non-standard clauses are added) requires no coding skills. Seamless Salesforce Integration: Sales reps can launch contracts directly from opportunity records without leaving their CRM, drastically cutting deal cycle friction. In-Browser & MS Word Redlining: Real-time collaboration allows legal and business teams to leave inline comments and track changes without juggling multiple document versions via email. AI-Powered Data Extraction: Automatically pulls key metadata fields (expiration dates, auto-renewal notices, governing law) out of executed contracts to populate the central repository.

Cons

High Enterprise Cost: Customized tier pricing and implementation fees make it hard to scale for small businesses or teams with low contract volume. Initial Setup Complexity: Creating complex, multi-stage approval paths or mapping custom CRM fields requires dedicated admin time and planning up front. Repository Bulk Edits: Managing or updating existing legacy data in bulk can feel rigid compared to configuring net-new workflows.
