It allows us to host, organize, and control access to our video collection in one place, which has been especially beneficial as a small nonprofit. The platform has enabled us to launch a public-facing viewing library while reducing the need for ongoing development and technical maintenance. Pros We’ve been using Muvi to build and manage our streaming platform for archival video works. Their team has been highly attentive and responsive throughout the customization and launch process, and we appreciated their willingness to work closely with us to address specific requests. The platform has enabled us to create a structured viewing experience for our audience, which has been especially valuable as a small nonprofit. That said, we did encounter some limitations in the design and UX flexibility, and achieving the level of polish we were hoping for required additional iteration. Pros Working with the Muvi team has been wonderful. They are professional, attentive, and determined to solve any issues. The website never crashed or experienced down time. Cons The CMS is not as friendly of a user interface as I would like. It takes a great deal of mapping out and trying to remember where things are placed and consulting the help forum. I would personally like to see the ability to create both a FAST channel and paid VOD option for one product. Pros Relatively low cost, assisted with copyright protection Cons We have since spoken with management and learned that the support we needed is offered in an Enterprise plan. Without that plan, we only have access to basic support, regardless of the severity of the issue. However, their senior representatives have met with us to learn the issue and determine how many issues need to be resolved. After speaking with them, we feel a bit better about the matter.
