From Donor Management and Nonprofit Fundraising to Family Portals and Event Management, we have reduced the clutter and confusion by pulling it all into one single streamlined system. Now we have all of our data in one location, reducing duplicate efforts and cleaning our data source. A prime example, I have a board member who is a parent to a student we serve, who also donates and purchases event tickets. Previously this person would have duplicate data all over our system. Furthermore, their donations and program fees were constantly miscoded, one for the other. Now, they have a single data set with all of their connection points cleanly organized, and everything is automated down to pushing financial transactions to Quickbooks. In a little over a year, I have already saved dozens of hours and headache, and now I can focus on growth instead of tracking. The value DonorView brings is exceptional, and I look forward to growing with them for the years to come. Cons DonorViews platform is amazingly adaptable to your organziation's needs. With that, it means there can be an increased load in the onboarding phase, setting all the automations and pathways in motion. This is a worth-while pain point in order to take the time to set it up exactly how it best serves the organization. Furthermore, if you are looking for the ultimate clean-line user experience, this might not be for you. At the same time, I would trade UX for tailored data storage any day. I want to see and access everything, so I can maximize efficiency and delivery for my organization. Having our fundraising, events, auctions, and email marketing all in one system has made things so much easier for our team. The conversion process was smooth, and we were able to get comfortable with DonorView pretty quickly. The support team was extremely helpful through this process. The software is powerful and provides many tools for viewing and processing donor data. We especially like having everything connected to the same donor records, so we can easily see the full picture of how someone is involved with our organization. Overall, it’s been a great switch and has made managing everything much simpler. Pros I find the user interface extremely flexible and powerful for viewing, sorting, and managing donor and event data. Our organization has appreciated having all of our donor data, event management, auctions, and email marketing in one place. The software has been extremely useful through multiple types of events this year, on top of being a constant engine for collecting and processing donations. We have also appreciated the ability to share transaction data directly to Quickbooks. Customer support and training are top-notch. The team was helpful above and beyond expectation at every step of our implementation and continues to support all of our needs. Cons At the beginning, the user interface has a bit of a learning curve, but the support and training materials do an excellent job of addressing this, and my team has come to really like the interface. In our ongoing use, we have found that the software is sometimes slow to load, especially when processing large amounts of data, but this never creates too much of an issue, even during events. Pros Having our volunteer information alongside our donor and event data has been especially valuable. Tracking volunteers and their time is simple, and we can easily keep up with who is volunteering, how many hours they have contributed, and their overall involvement with our organization. We were working with a very tight budget and an equally tight timeline, as we needed to move quickly from our existing system. The DonorView team made the entire implementation process smooth and stress-free. The level of support and responsiveness has been outstanding. We eventually decided to move to a different platform that was more customizable for our needs. Pros The best thing about DonorView is that it's am all-in-one option, out of the box. Everything you might want: forms, payment processor, client records: all in one place already integrated. Cons Unfortunately, because it's out-of-the box and fully integrated, it is not very customizable. At our organization, we needed to try and fit our needs into what DonorView offered -- which didn't really work for us. And the more we used the options to customize, the more expensive the platform got. Pros It's really easy to find information quickly, which has made our check-in process at performances incredibly smooth. We no longer have long lines or confusion at the door, and our team can focus on making the event a great experience for everyone. Cons Since our data was in different places, it was difficult to get it organized for data conversion. It's not specific to DonorView, but it took us some time to get everything ready. I have been using fundraising CRM solutions for more than 25 years. Within months of joining my current nonprofit, it became clear that DonorView was a vastly inferior product and that it offered no cost savings as an offset to the inferior quality. DonorView was agressive, in predatory, in their efforts to enforce their 'no early termination, mandatory 3 year subcription." DonorView is so bad, we are willing to pay the final 3rd year without using the system just to move on to a useful fundraising CRM. Pros It was simple. But that is one of the reasons we hate this software: it is simplistict, clunky, and very limited in function, even basic tasks like queries and segmenting are poorly designed. Cons It is clunky, unsophisticated and clearly not upgraded as competing CRM options have over the past few years. Segmenting, as basic task, is difficult. The user interface is like something created 10 or more years ago. Their subscription model is aggressive, in predatory. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR BAIT AND SWITCH. After this organization had used the system for a year, within in days of the annual renewal date, notice was delivered by DonorView that they had unilaterally changed their terms to require a 3-year, no early termination allowed, subscription renewal. If you did not accept, the only option was to cancel within the next few days and loose all access to data. Not a friend to nonprofit organizations. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS. Alternatives considered [Neon CRM](https://www.capterra.com/p/102088/NeonCRM/) Reasons for choosing DonorView We abandoned DonorView (paying the predatory 3rd year of a mandatory 3 year subscription) just to get access to a useful CRM option. We left DonorView and switched to NEON. There were two other equally attractive options we also preferred over DonorView. I can't imagine running our organization without it!! Pros As a small organization, we have benefited greatly from having everything in one system. DonorView has allowed us to move registration and ticket sales online--improving the experience of the families we serve. It has also provided better tracking and management of participant and family information--which has alleviated a lot of paperwork for our staff. Our communications have improved by using the email marketing system--and not to mention, the look of our website is much more professional! DonorView is easy to use--both for parents who are signing up for our programs, but also internally for staff and volunteers who work in the system.
