Pros: What i liked most was the fact that remoting into computers is made extremely simple with this program

Cons: What I like least was the display window once you launched the program was not a consistent size nor did it appear in the same location that was expected.

Great software. Very responsive when connected to other workstations.

Pros: I love the responsiveness when connected to other clients. It's much more responsive and smooth than the other remote applications we have. Unless the mirror driver failed, there is no clipping or lag when typing.

Cons: Not exactly straight forward for setting up a saved user for connecting to clients. We also had an application that would black out on the end of whoever was connecting so we couldn't support it remotely with this.

Overall: Quick support from our IT department for our users via remote capabilities.

Pros: The fact that I can reach out and touch any of the machines on my domain administratively and exercise complete control of that machine is AMAZING!

Overall: It frees up a great deal of my time and allows me to solve problems ranging from the very simple and run of the mill issues to the absolutely confounding. In the time that I've had access to it I've been able to cut down on my work load and the time in which I have to complete tickets\jobs. It truly is a gift to my organization.

This is a very organized virtual support tool to enable IT professionalsto quickly assist customers.

Pros: I love the organization inbuilt into this program as well as the ability to access management tools directly from this computers entry in the directory. if i need logs from a machine i just pull them from dameware. if i need to drop to a console of a remote machine i dont have to rdp in first to then open a command prompt.

Cons: This software requires you to manually login to the remote machine if no one is logged in. Single Sign on capabilities are rather limited with this software solution.

Overall: Seemless and organized remote support capabilities from one source application.

Pros: being able to remote into workstations and utilizing all the tools that help us support all our clients in a fast and easy way where almost no interaction or downtime on the client side.

Cons: I do not like the way some remote utilities work like on the mini remote I can't actually get a full screen of the remote workstation so I have to scroll a lot to get to a place where I need to click on it.

Overall: Remote support and easy client interaction.

Unbelievable tool to remotely support our 911 users.

Pros: The tools set is so very intuitive and easy to use. I really appreciate the ability to be able to send the agent install from my desktop. We have several tricky connections, and with DameWare, it puts the BS to bed!

Cons: The only downfall I have ever ran into with DameWare. My employee upgraded his version without checking with the team lead. Next thing lead to all users having to upgrade to the current version. i would love to see backwards compatibility.

Overall: Remotely support my mobile users.

We have been using Dameware for 10+ years, overall the experience is good. Especially in intranet

Pros: Very user-friendly and it is leading remote control software, We can save the setting and remotely manage the clients.

Cons: It is not easy to use it via internet. I mean to connect from Internet is difficult. It would be great we can use it across the network.

Overall: We are export the setting from one computer to another

Pros: Ease of installation and tools associated when connected to the client. Great console and remote support option is a plus.

Cons: Cost is slightly high. Licensing has been challenging to maintain but that is partially due to uniqueness of the site.

Cheaper than cloud solutions but harder to use

Pros: Pay once and it's yours. You don't have to keep renewing it yearly at higher and higher rates since you run it internally on your own server.

Cons: Have to install on internal server or multiple servers if you also put on DMZ to connect to Internet-based PCs, which takes some expertise. For quite a while we didn't have a public certificate on the DMZ server and trying to talk the users thru all the security errors thrown up by the browser was challenging. It could take 15 minutes just to get thru that step. So then we got a certificate but getting it installed and working on the DMZ server was a bear. Solarwinds does not have adequate instructions on how to do this. Took quite a bit of research. Getting connected to remote users can be challenging the first time you connect to them (if they don't have the client agent installed) even with a certificate installed. I really miss our previous cloud-based solution which was so much easier to use, plus it had more options, like transferring files between computers, but it became unaffordable. Dameware feels very awkward to me compared to it. I can't really rate the customer support because we dropped support due to the cost. So I just flounder around on my own when we have a problem with it, trying to fix it (like trying to get the certificate installed). The support was helpful when we first bought it and I had to get it installed and working on the server.

Overall: Less expensive remote control solution

Pros: excellent tool and easy to use, there no necessity to enter my credentials because it takes it from Windows system

Cons: the updates are not directly nor thru the proper application, but instead thru the web portal, it should be more smooth and less cumbersome

Overall: easy to use, customer list of machines, no need for credentials because it takes it from Windows

Pros: can remote support 3,000 pc's on the fly. can file transfer items on the fly. even has the ability to reconnect when pc is back online

Pros: That is uses a different protocol than RDP, which provides more features. I am able to get information about the computer I am connected to. The best feature that it passes Smart Card credentials to the remote computer.

Cons: Since most companies are using two factor authentication, it would be useful if Dameware Central Server would allow that instead of requiring an account and password for the LDAP query to allow users to use the software

Overall: I am able to more effectively trouble shoot issues remotely because the program different protocols to connect. It reduces the time that I spend time trying to connect using RDP.

Reliable, Responsive, Easy to use and setup.

Pros: The interface is very easy to navigate and quick to respond. Remote install of the mirror driver is also quick.

Cons: In our environment we have about 40% of our machines that are Mac. The remote ability allows you to remotely control a MAC, but not share the users current session. This really defeats the purpose of troubleshooting remotely.

It's like I am at the workstation with the user; there's not much I can't do.

Pros: Universality, it really doesn't matter what group policies are enabled for remote desktop as long as there exists the ability to execute services as an administrator.

The RPC ping feature is amazing as well when doing reboots of clients or servers. I really can't say how much I like that feature. Just being able to reconnect after a reboot automatically is amazing.

Smart Card authentication is a much needed feature! Thanks for the addition.

Cons: Offline licensing is a pain. Copying keys, transporting cd's between air-gapped networks is a massive inconvience. If something could be done to shorten the key length to something speakable it would be a HUGE improvement.

Overall: The best remote desktop support and server support software money can buy.

The useful program, without excesses. Fast and compact.

Pros: Does not require preliminary installation. Perfectly works with Active Directory. Remote access to the register and events, without need to use third-party programs.

Cons: Very much there is not enough text search (names of hosts, alieses) in Active Directory computers. My names of hosts are assigned to users, and process of search of the necessary host in user name takes a lot of time.

Overall: Saving of working hours, allows to cut down staff of technical support

Pros: Super easy to log into any computer on my network. I'm constantly using it to fix minor email issues as well as setting up computers/servers without having to go physically to the computer(s). Love being able to lock the mouse/keyboard so the user doesn't try to keep typing while I'm fixing something. I also like the View Only button so I don't move their mouse around while they are finishing up something before I take over.

Cons: -Missing a "reconnect to the last computer".
-A search feature for computers without having to manually search for it (sometimes the computer gets named wrong).
-Be able to setup groups.

We really appreciate the added value this product has brought to our Company.

Pros: I have used Dameware for over 10 years now, and it is hands down, the most powerful, easiest to use, most stable remote control software there is.
The MSI creation tool makes it easy to deploy.
The ability to see remote screens exactly as the user does is invaluable for software troubleshooting.
The speed to connect and support users is great for a tech to be more efficient and not run around all day solving minor issues that can be centrally resolved.

Cons: My only 2 complaints are:
I wish there were an easier way to have a proxy service reach outside of my network Pc's. There is a way to do it, but it is a bit complicated. I almost wish there was a subscription service that Solar Winds allowed a tech to use to accomplish this.
The way to save PC's you connect to frequently is a bit wonky. I have several times connected to another PC, or erased a saved PC with a new PC's name because of how the system presents itself.

Overall: Easy of remote support.
Ease of installation.
Ability to see remote users desktop.
Lightweight install
Always running service.

Easy to use and feature-rich; I definitely recommend this tool to IT Admins!

Pros: Great list of LAN support features such as file transfer, mapped drives, services list, and event logs.

Cons: The drivers don't work well with my MS Surface Book. Despite multiple hours with Solarwinds Support, the issue still isn't resolved and the program is extremely difficult to use on my laptop; I avoid doing so whenever I can use a desktop instead.

Pros: The ability to connect to any workstation on the domain without having to pre-install an agent was what sold us. We moved to DameWare from UltraVNC, and what a difference it made!

Cons: We find it really hard to find something we don't like about DameWare. This product has truly been a time saver.

Overall: Quicker time to ticket resolution, which has lead to happier end users.

We have around 300 end users and own 5 licenses. There are 2 of us that use it the majority of time.

Pros: I love the tool box at the top of the screen. So much functionality. "View Only"; "Print" and many more. It is very reliable as long as your network is functioning correctly. I was used to having to have IP address to connect at last job but find using the computer name to be just as easy, if not better all together. We got a few more licenses to give the remote access feature to a few other employees and it was very easy to explain to them how to use it properly.

Cons: It took a little while to get used to the format. But no different than any new software. It also took a few tries to get the logging in to work smoothly. However, once I figured it out there has been no issues.

Pros: The ease of the initial set up was great! The software has made my daily work life so much easier now that it is easy to remote in to where ever I need to go. It has made my job easy and a breeze and allows me much more access than I originally had.

Cons: I was under the impression that this was a one time purchase. While the bulk price is a one time purchase there is a fee due annually that I did not know about. While this is a very small amount compared to other products I still would have liked to know before purchase.

Overall: Helped make my daily work life much easier by allowing me access to what I need to get to. Not only is the software reliable but it is fast and secure!

Very easy to maneuver through and utilize.

Pros: Being be able to do remote console sessions to servers without needing login credentials and saving the names of your servers.

Cons: Application messes with display drivers on local machines and it doesn't auto uninstall the client from a user's machines.

Pros: I like integration Dameware with Active Directory, functionality and simplicity. Buld in RDP works fine.

Cons: Interface needs to be improved. Also, it seems like design might be done in mo modern way. Dameware has some slowness in syncing with Active Directory.

Pros: Easy to run, minimal resources on both ends, and little to no work on the end users side. Its like taking VNC Viewer and giving it steroids.

Cons: The varying versions are 100% backwards/frontwards compatible. By that I mean, if I am using version 7 and go on a user's machine, version 10 will kick out an error stating that I can't connect because the plugin doesn't match the version. Not the biggest issue, but still a little annoying.

Overall: Immediate support for end users.

Pros: Connections to devices and management of the network is great. The ability to connect to devices quick and safely.

Cons: Sometimes it does not refresh quickly. I think I need to customize my connections to be able to connect better.

Overall: We are getting a significant value out of this program.

Pros: I like that it's easy to learn the basics and easy for my technicians to learn right out of the box.

Cons: There are times that it can be sluggish, or through random errors out when installing the service for the first time, but most of the time that has to do with the computer and not the software.

Overall: Remote control of machines, as well as bundled in with the Remote Support tool we can do a lot of neat things remotely making us more productive.

Pros: Dameware is extremely easy to use and deploy. Connecting to a remote workstation in Dameware simply requires you to provide the name of the workstation you are connecting to along with username and password. Dameware connects to the machine and installs the remote client on the workstation with no user intervention.

Cons: There is not a lot that I would say negative about Dameware. Perhaps the lookup of previously connected to workstations could be made a little quicker by having an autofill of historical workstation searches.

Overall: Using Dameware has increased our response time to a user's issue. Instead of having to travel to the machine we can easily take over the machine remotely and work out the issue from our desks.

Makes my job easier. Usually works as expected.

Pros: Ive used the product for years. I like the AD like interface, and the general ease of use. Access to remote computers having issues and being able to pull logs any time is great.

Cons: I need to find computers by user logged in. This is a very important feature!

Pros: Having used previous versions in the past, the new releases are very intuitive and easy to use. Once you are sure that you have admin access on the client computer, it is very easy to connect and interact without the need of end user having to grant pearmissions or go through a share screen process. Very simple, very clean.

Cons: I have found that sometimes computername needs to be substituted with IP address in order to find the target PC. Not sure if it is a network related issue or Dameware's.

Overall: Easy to connect/shadow other computers for support or incident resolution.

Pros: That i can have command and control of all of my client sysyems even at remote sites. Also the client cuystomization is great.

Cons: I get less exercise since i dont have to leave the desk. But seriously there is very little not to like.

Use this product on a daily basis (in conjunction with N-Able) to provide support to all my client

Pros: The agent seems to be very non-invasive on the client PC.
Full desktop experience (reboot, command line, Wake On LAN etc...)

Cons: When I run up against a firewall that will not allow the agent to install.
There is very little that I don't like.

Overall: I use the product in conjunction with Solarwinds N-Able on a daily basis to provide my MSP clients support. Some of the clients I have chose not to purchase 24/7 monitoring so for those I use DameWare quite often for desktop support phone calls.

Pros: Very easy to use, fast and full featured. An essential tool for the IT Department to efficiently support end users.

Cons: The inability to nick-name computers in the mini remote support client to reconnect to late. It would be helpful to add usernames to the computers after connecting to allow ease of reconnection later.

Overall: An efficient and easy to use product in order to support end users company wide. Used throughout the department. Would highly recommend.

The Dameware product did a decent job, we just found a product with more functionality.

Pros: Great customer support. Pretty easy to use. Very user friendly to remotely administer workstations and laptops.

Cons: Doesn't cover all the operating systems we use. To be fair, not many do, but we found one that did. Needed something that would handle chrome, Mac, etc.

Overall: Allowed us to remotely administer all of our workstations and laptops when we only had windows boxes.

Pros: Create a list of devices that gives you easy access to all your connections and you can filter them by host name or IP Address.

Cons: The software will save hosts with the same name every time you input the same name, I would like to have the software recognize previous hostnames instead of keep creating new duplicated hosts.

Overall: Lot of support provided to multiple locations in a very easy to use interface.

We use Dameware to connect to our end user systems to assist them with problems helpdesk problems.

Pros: We would not be able to perform our helpdesk job nearly as well without being able to connect so seamlessly.
We do not have to turn remote desktop on every system which is a huge security relief. Allowing users so see what we are doing is helpful to them so that they can help themselves in the future.
I love being able to view event logs easily and without interrupting the end users work flow.
Easily retrieving information regarding a system status such as properties, processes, software, services etc. all in one place is extremely valuable.

Cons: I use Dameware everyday it is difficult to find something negative, I suppose I would like for the computer icons to turn blue from grey when a user system becomes active rather than having to exit the program and re-enter to see active systems.

Overall: ease of use!!

Pros: The ability to install without the end users needing to do anything. Only requirement was that you needed to know the computername.

Cons: Lack of out of domain network support. We have many personel that can travel and if we didn't get VPn on their machine we couldn't reach them with this tool. Made for actual remote network support more difficult

Overall: Overall it was a very useful tool to aide our network based computers

Pros: It works all the time. I setup a hot key to run it and it always runs and connects if I can ping the PC.

Cons: I don't like how it handles the saved host list. I haven't done a lot of research on getting it the way I would want it though.

Overall: We're able to quickly assist our end users or remote to un-manned computers and fix problems. I've never had dameware crash or tell me it can't do something because of some reason.

Valuable tool for connecting to desktops and servers for everyday operations.

Pros: Ability to connect to servers and user desktops to complete regular operations and to provide technical assistance. Allow users to present desktop screen and presentations. It allows collaboration with users. It allows transferring the connection. It has a secure connection.

Overall: This application helped provide visibility into remote systems, allowed access to servers, and a great resource for our help desk team.

Pros: Ease of use. Recall of IP/hostname. Dual display view and more. Configurable. Secured. Ping feature is cool, simple yet powerful during reboot.

Cons: Annoying encounters of old and new clients/agents not installed; other annoying errors during connection. A bit expensive per license.

Overall: Visualization is a necessity in IT to efficiently troubleshoot end user experience. Often times the verbal explanation isn't what appears to be the actual error or problem compared to when observed with visuals. Connection is always stable, never had an issue.

Pros: It is very simple to use and works flawlessly. There is no need to install anything at the client level and almost immediately can access domain based machines. I have been using this for about 10 years and cannot imagine not having it in a Windows domain environment.

Cons: There really are no serious flaws, nothing beats this for remote access to domain computers. I occasionally get warnings about the mirror drivers for display but it works anyway. I occasionally have disconnect and reconnect to refresh a screen after remotely logging into the client machine. This is one of the few products that actually delivers on it's promises and is still very reasonably priced.

Overall: Do not run a Windows domain without this product!!

It works when you need it. Verry little setup involved.

Pros: Mostly ease of use verse the price point. Very little setup needed to run it. Works with just about any system.

Cons: Won't work on a Mac. You can remote into one but not from one. This is too powerful of a tool not to have it.

Pros: it is very easy to remote in, using Dameware, to workstation for troubleshooting and walking through users

Cons: the Dameware client requires to be re-installed if the version being used is newer or for mismatched versions.

Overall: quickly remote in to end user's workstation for efficient support

Pros: I like the fact that it will display multiple screens correctly and the mouse registration is not off on multiple monitors with different resolutions. i like being able to push the client out to machines that do not currently have the client installed. Once it is configured correctly with Active Directory it is pretty straightforward and easy to use. Usually if an RDP session is locked up I can get in with DameWare to free the session up.

Overall: I am able to quickly take over a machine and solve issues remotely, even if the machine does not have the client I can push it out to the machine to initiate a session. it saves a lot of time being able to remotely support an issue.

Learning as I go, it has come in useful so far in regards to saving time.

Pros: Easy to log in and use as I learn it more. The documentation has been useful in helping me begin using this software on the computers as needed. As the semester goes on I hope to have this tool help in saving a great amount of time especially in winter across the campus.

Cons: Kind of learning as I go. It can be tricky logging into different machines and dealing with different user accounts depending on what computer, desktop or laptop. However time will likely assist in learning the software and gaining more knowledge as we continue to use it.

Overall: Saving time and energy allowing me more time to address other issues. Working on a college campus can be time consuming travelling around from office to office in different buildings, etc.

Pros: Easy, quick, works great. Excellent price.

Cons: Their customer portal is terrible. Just terrible. A simple renewal is like pulling teeth. Licenses, license managers, all of it about half-working and necessitating a call to tech support every damn time it's time to renew.

Pros: I like that it was pretty easy to purchase, install, and update. I like the user interface, and it's easy knowing when a new version has been released (good email communication) and then to update the version (and to renew). I don't use it to access my coworkers' workstations, but just to access the server from my workstation, which is all I need. We're a small business, and if I have to see something on another workstation, it's better for me to go to it, as often there are environmental variables that should get my attention as well (say, the plant on the shelf over the workstation).

Overall: I have a checklist of things to do upon arriving at work, and being able to do them from my workstation is far more efficient than having to do them from the server. So, Dameware has made my access to the server highly efficient and I'm more productive using it.

Before purchasing this my boss was using the archaic way through RDP. Never going back!

Pros: Integration with AD makes it stemless. I had looked for six months at remote support utilities and came across this and will always use it!

Overall: The end user being able to see how I was fixing there issue made this way more friendly to use then RDP

Pros: Push capability, Remote Support tools are great for remote registry and remote process access has really benefited our support team. It is an excellent all in one place for us to troublshoot client systems.

Cons: Monitor resolution could be better, RC is limited to remote system display resolution. Can be slow to connect at times.

Pros: Quick and easy. However, I will take some time to establish a connection with some computers. Also , sometimes you have to wait for the client to accept. Is this because FIPS is enabled?

Cons: Everytime i connect to new machine, the entry list from a primary host gets renamed with the newly entered host. I know i need to click "new entry" but the old dameware i did not need to do that.

Overall: Being able to connect to remote clients while they watch what I do.

Have used Dameware since it came out. Historically a fan.

Pros: It's remote features are strong. The ability to log in as a local user is very handy. Rarely fails to install.

Cons: Needs multi-platform support. However, the reason we have moved away from it and will no longer use it is due to Solarwinds horrible licensing mechanism. Prior to their takeover of the software licensing was straightforward and easy to install. We have had multiple situations where licensing has been difficult to install, and the whole procedure is as in and has really soured us on every using Solarwinds products...this goes for all Solarwinds products now. I've also found it struggles in high latency environments compared to some other options.

Overall: There were many at one time. We are moving to a new solution.

Product is used in our large corporation and is a time saver with manual deployments & support.

Cons: Password function does not integrate with Active Directory, this often causes me to lock my self out when my PW changes every 45 days, self inflicted i know, but...
Sometimes disconnects when changing users on a remote PC. Interface is a bit clunky....
However, these few things are far outweighed by Dameware's usefulness and solid performance. Definitely worth having!!!

Pros: Seamless connections to remote devices using either domain or local credentials. Good feature set (for example, can ping the device during a reboot and automatically reconnect when it's back online) and overall smart design. No need to install anything on the client beforehand, the software does it for you at connection time if it needs to.

Cons: There are so many options and icons that it's a little overwhelming, and the icons don't have text labels. The options feel a little cluttered -- it took me a long time to discover and understand all the various options. But it's hard to combine a rich feature set with an elegant interface, and overall DameWare is highly user-friendly (for a technical person).

Overall: I use it every day for remotely connecting to computers throughout the US. It is indispensable.

Pros: It does what I need it to do, tracks tickets, solutions, assets, hardware, and software, and generates clean reports from that information.

Cons: Tech support is terrible, I've submitted 2 tickets recently regarding an upgrade and have heard nothing back. Every few months it will randomly stop pulling email, easily remedied, but I don't like my users to have to wait for a resonse.

Overall: As mentioned before it tracks and reports what we need tracked and reported.

Cons: licensing without a doubt- every year it wants to talk to the mothership; our systems are behind a proxy and when we have 50 (or however many there are, probably more) that can't phone home and need to be authorized manually - and they have to be done by the person on whose SolarWinds account they are\were purchased on... it is a nightmare and we are looking at other products that don't make us jump through these hoops. It is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS the amount of trouble this is. I have been using DameWare - I actually was the person who talked this company into buying it about 15 or so years ago - for a long time and the licensing is going to make me switch. Sad.

Overall: remote administration

Pros: I am the one who has installed, configured, and administer DameWare Remote Support in our environment. The simplicity and ease of use of MRC and other components inside of DWRS offer a wide spectrum of tools at your disposal for remotely connecting to machines on and off your domain network through internet sessions. This is probably the most used software in our IT department, all of our users use it every single day several times a day.

Cons: I feel like the UX/GUI could use a refresh, it appears to be dated. We have had an issue on our network with devices discovering other devices belonging to other VLANs to show up in the computer list, and support basically told us there wasn't anything they could do to support as it is a Windows related issue causing it. We instead just use the workstation list which is an exhaustive list.

Pros: I like that it is well constructed. Ease of use. I have been using it for years and it has always been dependable. No lag.

Cons: Wish it had a better function for visualizing dual screens. When opening the software it defaults to your last used. If you forget to hit the new button the information changes even if you try and back out.

Pros: It can push the client to the target machine even when it is unattended and logged off. Unlike RDP the screen is shared with the user so that help and support can be provided.

Cons: The mirror driver has interfered with video drivers in some cases. Also when connecting to a client with a screen resolution much higher than mine I have to scroll like crazy to get around their screen. I recommend screen scaling to fix this.

Pros: The ability to export your (Saved Host List) onto a .json file and migrate it to a new computer! The ability to view the entire Active Directory list of computers! The MRC Ping feature, love how we can use that ping and connect feature! The ability to set permissions required on connect for certain host of computers.

Cons: On a user that has dual screens, required to switch from screen 1 and 2. The way the old version auto-created a host into your host list when typing over a saved (computer) on your host list, on the new version you are required to click (+New) then type in a computer name, by mistake sometimes we tend to type in a computer name when Dameware loads and mistakenly erase a saved host computer, a bit frustrating at most.

Overall: Virtual RDP, assisting users from all departments, better way to see the problem over a virtual screen, saves the long walk across the floor when an issue can be rectified within a few minutes.

Super easy to use and effective to conducting remote support.

Pros: I like that I can search my active directory for the machine that I need to remote support and its just a one click to connect. Its really fast once you are connected.

Cons: It would be nice if this software could provide remote off network support, similar the use of Logmein Rescue or Teamviewer.

Pros: Ease of use. Registry editor, Processes, Disk Drives, event logs, services manager, sessions, wake on lan and remote control all in one place. I also like the ability to put a friendly name to each remote connection so that I can also look at the list with a name and not just the computer name.

Cons: Even though the software is a great value for the price, it can be a bit steep for a smaller company and hard to justify.

Pros: IT has been reliable and easy to use within our environment. Very easy especially in a Help Desk situation. I am able to easily take care of problems and educate end users at the same time. There is a wealth of information that can be obtained in the background without disturbing users.

Cons: At times there are connection problems with older operating systems. At times there are issues when installing the client for the end user when connecting for the first time.

Pros: We have found that the software allows us to perform many functions remotely. The features within the product also enable our teams to collaborate w/ technicians in the field. By using Dameware we are able to reduce the amount of resources utilized by managing and troubleshooting remotely. The cost of this product is also very adequate for the amount of services it provides.

Cons: I feel that the product is great, but it could use better training tools for first time users. Such as video tutorials and guides that are readily available from the application itself.

Overall: This software has allowed our teams to remotely manage thousands of endpoints remotely and effectively. The cost savings which this application provides is outstanding when you compare it to other solutions and the amount of resources you would normally have to utilize in order to get the same amount of work done.

For the most part I like it, there are more pros than cons. Great for our environment.

Pros: You can remote into PCs even if they are off the network, as long as there is an IP you can remote into it.

Cons: Might be silly, but the one thing I can stand is I cant drag the screen to my second monitor. The only thing I can do is, resize the screen until I get it to my other screen. Sometimes I just want to look at one users screen but on my other screen, but It doesn't allow you to drag it.

This is our go to product for remote management of our in house desktops for support

Pros: ease of use across multiple protocols, we are able to manage our servers, desktops (PC/Macs) through VPN and regular in house connctions

Pros: I like the ability to run remote command, and check logs remotely. The ability to work on computers without the user knowing, is vital to staying ahead of my tasks.

Cons: I find browsing the event log a bit troublesome, I would like the ability to filter it. Also the remote connect auto populated alias can be redundant.

Overall: Remote connectivity to all of our computers we manage, remote command line, remote event viewer. The ability to remote connect quickly, and change users on the fly without loosing connectivity, very helpful.

Pros: It's awesome! LOL It's easy, I can deploy the client side remotely (that's huge!) The DameWare Server model allows simplicity for a team.

Cons: Since the acquisition of DameWare by Solarwinds, the price has tripled! From a customer POV, that has forced me to look at other solutions.

Overall we have been very happy with this product. All our Helpdesk staff use this product daily.

Pros: It is very user friendly from the tech's standpoint. It allows for quick support to all our internal customers. Dameware is one of our go to pieces of software for supporting our users.

Cons: There have been no major issues with this software. The only issue we ever had was the initial setup of the software into our DMZ for giving us access to external users that are not on our network. However, the documentation assisted with this.

Very handy tool, but it definitely has room for improvement.

Pros: Can install the client remotely. Most admin management tools are available remote (e.g. registry editing).

Cons: MRC and Remote Support tools are not integrated enough. I would like the favorites to cross sync between the two. I would like to be able to add/remove/modify printers remotely without using MRC/Remote-Desktop. Would like to be able to transfer files in the Remote-Support tool. Would like to be able to batch deploy msi or other silent installers to multiple PCs. I cannot find a way to install Remote Support Agent unless I try to launch Remote Command Prompt on a machine. Need to be able to batch deploy both MRC and Remote Support agents.

Overall: Easier remote management of PC's

A necessity for a any productive help desk team.

Pros: The top feature that dame ware has to offer is "ease of use". Everything is put the the right place. A lot of common sense went into building this product.

Cons: I wish it was more inexpensive and provides integration with other software we have in our organization.

Pros: The amount of time saved in my day by this tool is invaluable. I use the MRC mostly and daily, but the RS tools are equally valuable even if I do not use them as much. the insight I can gain from the RS tools is amazing. the ability to remove services on the fly is amazing. running remote command prompt also a time saver. I realize there are tools out there that can do all these but having them all together in one place is such a time saver. I could go on and on with what I love about these products

Cons: that certain things don't work like they did in the past if not at all. Connect on ping reply is spotty. sometimes it works, other times it does not. SFT File transfers used to work flawlessly now I can't get them to work. there are others and while they do disappoint me that they do not work, there are others that do work so much they make up for them. Also, I hate to say it, but tech support seems almost non-existent. they need to improve there immensely

Overall: lots of time savings everywhere. being able to do 90% of my workload without leaving my desk is amazing

I've used a different products for remoting into my equipment and I find this by far the best!!

Pros: Its ease of use probably. Its earlier versions were kind of hard to get every computer to work correctly with it, but it is great now. I have no problems with any of my servers or computers, and I often need to be able to remote in.

Overall: When I am away from the office and an employee gets locked out of the domain for incorrect login, I can instantly get into a domain controller and unlock them. Many great uses for this software.

Pros: The ability to connect without the need for a user to be present on the client side.
The ability to easily transfer files to and from the client.
The fact that the viewing control is not a fixed resolution.

Cons: When adding or editing new client connections, the user interface is not always clear as to what the data being entered means in the context and how it will be used.

Pros: It seems there are 98% of the features I could wish for in a support tool. No complaints on functionality here. Worth the investment for LAN based support needs.

Cons: Has a little bit of an older style interface. It could be more finger friendly for tablets. More powershell features could be useful.

Pros: bility to access users computer using Active Directory while the user is online and operational. We're able to fix issues and load software as well as in the rare circumstance, update data and/or files in vitro. The standard usage is pretty responsive and the feel of the GUI in the connection is easyt o use with the User in tow.

Overall: Ability to manipulate users computer from a remote location.

Pros: Remote support feature was a big plus. Able to remote into a system and presence not aware. Ability to see background information regarding the system when doing support. A lot of newer features.

Cons: Not much of a change. Had version 6.8 and now version 12. No visible change for remote and still acts a bit buggy.

I use DameWare Mini Remote frequently. It's a quick way to fix a PC problem within our LAN.

Pros: It's fast and easy to log-in to another PC when needed for trouble shooting. We are on an island and also many offices on the mainland. It saves our IT personal lots of travel time.

Cons: I can't seam to figure out saving host names so I can choose the employee PC from a list by name. I'm sure it can be done. I have never really had much training on it.

Overall: PC problems fixed quickly and easily without travel time throughout the company.

Pros: I like the fact that I can remote into a computer very quickly, get the task finished and get out.

This software makes my job less stressful.

I can be "remoted" into 50 computers at the same time, if needed. (really, I've had to do this before)

Cons: Not all features actually work. If I change a description of a computer in active directory and the hit "refresh" in Dameware, it does not refresh. I have to close and re-open Dameware.

Pros: We can remote into our users and see the issues they are having and fix them right from the screen rather than running around to other buildings or offices. If user has two monitors allows us to see both or one at a time.

Cons: Can't think of any cons....but wish that the Wake up on LAN was more user friendly. But the issues with it are with our routing system.

Pros: The functionality of the software, allowing you to use different credentials to remote into a customers computer. I don't really have any did-likes of the software, it performs all of the actions I need it to and I have not found anything it will not do for me.

Overall: Being able to work on a customers computer without having to actually go to the site where the computer is.

Survey does not work, IE or FireFox you cannot click on the stars, kinda speaks to the software.

Pros: Not much now-a-days. Since SolarWinds took over the software the software has lost all development. SolarWinds only goal with this software is to make money. Another CON too many sales staff, I think I have been contacted by 20 different people in the last 3 years, are you kidding me, one person that is all we need. But again SolarWinds is only geared to make money nothing else.

Update: After you click submit then the stars are enabled to be clicked on.

Overall: There are no benefits to this software anymore. There are so many other vendors with much better software that cost a lot less. Licensing model for this software is the worst. We are differently looking at other software and will make the change as soon as possible. This goes for our other SolarWinds software too. No support, no updates, no fixes, just a phone call every month on buying stupid add-ons or lets renew 2 years early and save 10%. OMG just stop.

Pros: It is very reliable whether you're connecting over Ethernet or Wi-Fi. It's easy to manage access from the Centralized Server. The Remote Support interface is user-friendly.

Cons: Some of the default settings caused scans of all machines in our networks (which is several thousand). These needed to be turned off manually on each technician machine.

Overall: It allowed our administrators to seamlessly connect to end users' machines and provide remote support. It allowed us to do this for users that were having trouble connecting to the network over VPN as well (a limitation in other products).
